I want a DCA au with Priest!Sun, Priest!Moon, and Exorcist!Eclipse that find a rare Harpy (Y/n) and mistake them tor a Cherub or angel of some sort. Y/n is confused by this, but they decide sometimes it's better not to ask questions. Why turn down free food? Of course, an angel being seen by everyone else might cause too much havoc. The boys know this, so they keep Y/n safe, hidden, and comfortable... despite the time Y/n accidentally gave them a heart attack when migrating.

Either that, or the reverse where it's Priest!Y/n and three mischievous Harpies that just won't leave them alone. "There’s a lot of feathers around the church these days." They'll say, not thinking much of it as Y/n subtly panics. "Maybe angels keep paying you a visit." The person jokes, unaware of just how false that both is and feels.

I like both ideas, specifically because it's either a mistake or misunderstanding that the boys grow to live with because, well, they can't exactly turn back now. Or just big fluffy bird boys that cause chaos for a tired priest who helped the wrong birds.

Extra twists I'd add to the original film canon:

Ironic Curses - Charlie, who never wanted to hurt anyone and used her noble title to speak up for the downtrodden, turns into a monstrous wolf creature filled with bloodlust that goes on the rampage every night (except for the hour directly after sunset and before sunrise, when she is tame around Vaggie) - Vaggie, ex-guard who was more loyal to Charlie than to the corrupt officials who paid her enforce their cruel laws, each day turns into a wild hawk desperate to escape (except for the hour right after sunrise and before sunset, when she is fiercely protective of Charlie and refuses to fly out of sight from her)

Extra Suffering - Hawk!Vaggie won't take food from people, or leave long enough to hunt when she's more herself at dawn and dusk, so Charlie has to repeatedly risk losing her forever by taking off her hood and setting her loose- then desperately chasing after her- trying keep track of her long enough for the sun to start setting again ---- Sometimes Charlie can't find her before nightfall and Vaggie wakes up alone in the woods to the sound of a distant inhuman howl of despair (not fun, but, it makes it easier to get back to Beast! Charlie) - Beast!Charlie spends most of the night trying to kill everyone and everything around her- so if she wasn't able to lock herself away before sundown, Vaggie has to grab her spear and do her best to keep Charlie from doing murder- by fighting her, leading her on long chases until sunrise, or trapping her ---- Sometimes Charlie wakes up at dawn to find Hawk!Vaggie crumpled next to her in a nest of bloody rag bandages, and the first thing she does before anything else is try her best to at least rebandage the wounds she gave her

They Go Around Rescuing People (against the law) - Vaggie mainly does this by not letting Beast!Charlie eat people as midnight snacks - During the day, a guilt wracked Charlie goes out of her way to free imprisoned people, save them from punishments, and fight Vaggie's former fellow guards every chance she gets ---- she gets this chance A Lot, since the reason they have to keep traveling is there's a warrant out for her head and the dead body of her hawk

The Other Roles Go To - Evil Bishop Guy: split between Adam and Lute, with Adam pissed that one of HIS guards got with the daughter of the woman who turned him down, and Lute wanting Vaggie to suffer and die for leaving the exorcist guards - Nice Monk: Emily is the one who accidently let slip about chaggie to Sera, who told Adam, who did the curse thing on them. After that all happened, Emily left her comfy position and locked herself up with all the old texts she could find, searching for a cure to the curse. She finds one, yay! - Loveable Rouge Who Helps: All the hotel crew. Charlie rescues / helps them each in turn, and they tag along with her for protection (meaning Vaggie then has to protect THEM from HER)

after the gang is assemble, the film plot plays out as expected

blah blah blah, holy shit the bird just got hit by an arrow, what the fuck the knight lady is REALLY freaking out about that, oh no it's almost sunset- uhhh lady knight says leave her here take her horse and the hawk and ride to the nearby abandoned tower where someone named Emily should be, because Emily can help the hawk.

AHHH the bird turned into a woman!!! A woman with the same injury as the hawk?

AAAAH that monster thing from before is outside howling and screaming, kill it-! Nope, never mind, the injured lady says she'll stab us if we hurt the big scary monster thing, and Emily says to leave it alone it'll be gone by sunrise.

blah blah blah, during the next eclipse, if chaggie can make Adam and Lute look at them standing together as themselves during the few moments they'll both be human at the same time, the curse will be broken! If this fails, they both stay in their cursed forms forever! Great!

.... how are we getting inside the castle for that? Oh right. Chaggie has been adopted by a rag tag band of criminals. This should be fun.

It settles inside him again as he sits in the dark of Foxy’s room, purple lights setting the walls aglow. A once unfamiliar turned more and more familiar feeling.

It seeps into his chest like oil in the tank of a car. Warm and filling in a way that sparks…something deep inside of him. Something that makes him rush to cut off the whirring rumbles that purr to life in his chest (a sound he vehemently dismissed as the sputter of some inner engine when Ballora pointed it out). Something that overrode the logical side and made him listen to other parts of himself that he rarely had before. It was as frightening as it was strangely enjoyable— this…something.

The drone of the television had long since faded to black silence. Eclipse could barely remember what had been playing on it before— some anime Monty had convinced everyone to watch for movie night— he thinks it was about exorcists but he’s not entirely sure. Jake and Andy and even Andrew had seemed to enjoy it though.

Speaking of…

Eclipse looked down as he felt a shift against him. An endo body cloaked in black curled against his lap like a cat, arms folded under their head. Tucked against his right side was the ghostly visage of Andrew— the touch of the kid’s phantom body against his felt fuzzy and barely there, like the static buzz from the screen of an old television. It was odd but not unpleasant.

Eclipse could feel it as he watched the two—technically three, actually—sleep peacefully. That warm feeling burrowed itself into his chest and spread itself over his body like a blanket soft as down. He only vaguely recalled having this feeling before in his previous lives (never in his third but there was a flicker of that something hidden somewhere in the recollection of his second and first). This life was the most he had ever felt it, though this life was also his first experience of many different things— things that before he would never have thought himself capable of experiencing.

Eclipse is broken from his train of thought by the quiet clearing of a throat. Looking up, he is greeted by Puppet’s smile. It is the kind of curled, crescent-eyed smile that he has come to associate with her more playful moods— or rather, a display of mirth typically aimed at him.

“What?” He grumbled out in a low voice.

“Nothing, Nothing.” Puppet waved her spindly hand dismissively. There was a small pause and then she continued, disregarding what she had just said, “I’ve just…never seen your rays do that before.”

Eclipse blinked slowly, brows furrowing, “Do what?”

“Spin.” She made a circular motion in the air with her finger, “Actually, I haven’t seen your rays move much at all. Sunshine’s do all the time, but not yours.”

Only then did Eclipse became acutely aware of the slow, circling motion of his rays. Quickly, he locked them back into place, “Tch, it’s not important.”

Puppet’s pinprick eyes twinkled with…something, hands cupped around her face like an enraptured child, “Come on, dude, it was kinda cool.”

Eclipse’s eyes narrowed and she raised her hands placatingly.

“Alright, alright.” She paused before a cheshire smile creeped slowly onto her plastic lips, “You’re such a softie, you know that?”

“Go fuck yourself.” He hissed, though the usual flash of annoyance was barely there now.

Puppet only laughed softly and stood from her seat in one of the smaller chairs, heading over to the door lit by Foxy’s Roxanne’s purple insignia, “We’re gonna be playing some games, maybe watching some more movies and stuff in the theater if you wanna join later.”

Eclipse grunted but didn’t say anything.

His gaze trailed back to the his kids sleeping soundly against him. Andrew shifted, curling closer— the soft, staticky feeling mingling with the strange warmth filling his chest that Eclipse was not privy to. There was a quiet click as his rays unlocked— something he didn’t acknowledge as the slow, circling motion began again. Just like he didn’t acknowledge the quiet rumbling that had started up in his chest.

“Oh, by the way– Eclipse?” He looked up to see her smile once again. But this one was different— softer around the edges, “For what it’s worth, you’re pretty good at the whole dad thing.”

One thing I think would be fun and cool to see future seasons of Hazbin is if Lute does that thing we see sometimes where a villain starts the story as a low or perhaps mid-level minion, but over the course of the show rises up through the villainous ranks until by the end of the series they’ve become one of the major Big Bads. As well as having a deep, long-running, escalating and very personal rivalry with the hero(s).

In this case, just imagine Lute managing to rise through the angelic ranks, growing in power with every step, all while cultivating an ever-escalating and personal grudge and rivalry against Charlie and Vaggie, as well as possibly Emily (yes, I am including some ‘Charlie’s Angels’ theorizing in this XD)

Like in Season 2, Lute gets picked up by Sera as a new underling. Perhaps with Adam’s death, the Exorcists are ‘disbanded’, which is actually just code/cover for them getting renamed/reorganized as a new organization under Sera. With Lute as their new leader getting raised in rank by Sera. Perhaps at this point she’s becoming just as strong as Adam was.

This leads to Lute being a central figure in whatever plots Heaven is doing and a recurring problem for Charlie and Vaggie. And as the series goes on and whatever conflicts with Heaven escalate further and further with Charlie and Vaggie growing in power and prominence as the big heroic force of the show, Lute is just always there at the forefront, growing in power and prominence to match them.

It also leads to Lute having an interesting growing relationship with Emily. As I’ve discussed in previous posts, with Emily showing a lot of parallels to Eve in relation to Charlie’s and Vaggie’s parallels to Lucifer and Lilith, I think it’s easy to imagine Lute likewise paralleling Adam in this dynamic. Which in turn makes it easy to see Lute trying to rebound, in a totally-straight, no-homo way, on Emily.

Which in turn could blow up BIG time if Emily ends up having enough of Sera’s and Heaven’s plotting, scheming, corruption and hypocrisy, leading her to become and fallen angel and joining Charlie and Vaggie in Hell. And in the process, turning her back on and abandoning Lute. Which of course, Lute would take rather… poorly.

Until by the end of the series, Lute has become one of the main Big Bads of the show, possibly even eclipsing Adam. At least in raw power if not overall villainous prominence.

Which could lead us in turn lead us to a situation wherein a full-power Devil!Charlie is squaring up to fight Archangel!Lute, wherein we get the perfect little callback:

Charlie: “…and now, I am going to FUCK YOU!”

Lute: -blinks awkwardly while getting violent flashbacks-

Charlie: -with a shit-eating smirk- “…up.” ‘commences epic ass-kicking’

And then in a further twist, Charlie actually DOES end up fucking Lute XD

konami you can just casually drop that mina has connections to a belmont, a belnades witch AND alucard prior to aria of sorrow and not say anything about that???? she comes from a family of powerful exorcists! her (presumed) grandpa sealed dracula inside a solar eclipse!! she has all the cards to be such an interesting and compelling character, but she’s just swept under the rug

and despite her the cviii legacy characters, the only relationship that is given any sort of depth is her relationship with soma. and all she does there is help soma beat the homo allegations and be another “reincarnation” of lisa

i wanna see more interactions between mina and yoko since they have a close, sister-like bond! also mina’s one of the only characters that kinda sorta figures out arikado’s identity without being told about it!! surely she must be friends, or at least acquaintances with him

mina’s such an underrated character that deserves so much more than konami ever gave her

Title: The Peacock Phantom, Master of the Abyssal Arts

The Rise of Xian Zhuan

In the ancient and forgotten lands of the Nether Abyss, where the sky glowed in eerie shades of green and blue, there was a sect long feared by all who walked the mortal realm—the Phantom Peacock Sect. This was no ordinary clan of mystics or warriors. Their power was drawn from the underworld itself, thriving on death, illusions, and the whispers of spirits. And among them, one figure stood above all—Xian Zhuan, the last and greatest master of their forbidden arts.

Born under an ill-omened lunar eclipse, Xian Zhuan’s fate was sealed before he could even speak his first words. His clan elders, adorned in ceremonial robes embroidered with peacock feathers, saw in him a vessel for an ancient power. Legends spoke of a soul so attuned to the Abyss that even the spirits of the dead would kneel before its command.

From a young age, Xian Zhuan showed an affinity for necromancy that both awed and terrified his people. His every step left an unnatural chill in the air. The spirits of long-forgotten warriors whispered in his ears, guiding his hands in battle. When he was twelve, he single-handedly resurrected the sect’s most powerful fallen elders, forcing them to bow in servitude—a feat no necromancer had ever achieved before.

By the time he came of age, the Phantom Peacock Sect had crowned him their new master, draping him in iridescent robes woven with threads of shadow and emerald fire. His coronation was no mere ritual; it was a pact with the Nether Abyss itself.

Given everything I’ve built so far, I’ve been circling the question of how Lute actually received her training after the First Generation of Exorcists collapsed. She did not exit the simulation combat-ready; battle proficiency was instilled through post-simulation training. But was it Michael who honed her? Adam? Or was it something far crueler — a red-room crucible, something closer to ritualized brutality? I keep returning to the image of her dying again & again, each death a lesson, every failure met with reset. An endless loop of punishment; an unending cycle of divine correction — until instinct eclipses mercy, until the blade moves before thought, until she stops waiting for orders, & begins to wield herself as the weapon she was always meant to be
