Linguistics question for you, because I'm curious reading the fox back and forth. So you said there are seven (7) words for fox in Welsh. What article/item/object has the MOST descriptory words in Welsh for what it is? Is it an animal?

For your One Piece stuff, do you mainly reference the manga or the anime for continuity stuff?

The main reference is the manga! Most chapters are heavily researched by reading and re-reading the manga to ensure it can fit into canon!

While the timeline follows the manga, I use bits from the anime too. Mainly for character colors - such as Mihawk's eyes, which are red in the manga but yellow in FYW, and Kuina, whose hair is black in the manga but is blue in FYW. (Though how blue Kuina's hair is, from neon to black-blue, is up to the reader)

I keep trying to fit in that resort island too from the anime! XD

Over the years we have gotten to work with really great creative people. After doing this for five years we want to give you guys some more insight on who has helped be a part of this label and make it what it is today. First off we have an interview with Danny Gibson of DJG Design. Danny has always been behind the scenes at TRM. He has helped create almost all of our logos and helped us with a lot of art direction and design since the begining. He also designed our very first release for Jame Dean Trio. ​0​1) Introduction I was at the historic first official meeting of The Record Machine held at McCoy’s in West Port of Kansas City, MO over half a decade ago. My say didn’t amount to much. I think my mouth was full as I was mostly positioned to eat free cheeseburgers. ​0​2) How have you been spending your days? My days are spent. Creeping on the Crow’s Feet I find that time is more easily measured in flap jack format than ever before. Something big has always been beaming and beating and I find myself blind peeping to see how far back the dogs with prickly sticks in their mouths yip, kick and nip for my heels. I do beat the crickets up at 5 am Monday thru Saturday in order to pinch a bit back. Evenings and weekends find me down slide sliver squeezes as well. I engage in making things and find some peace through all the pieces with my maker in the act of doing so. The handful of women I share space with enlightenment my walk as well…kitties and wife. Walks are good too and Fall time is the best for comfortable living in Kansas City. ​0​3) Where have you been spending your days or evenings? A bounty of selections from my basement is always on the menu. I’m easily entertained hunched over at my good ol’ door desk. In the mean time I appreciate the company of my wife, kitty hair on my clothes, celebrating all movies, well-tailored music that sometimes requires a third ear and high rise stacks of books and comics. For nourishment I scrape every pan and pot my wife cooks in. And I am the dishwasher. In the twilight occasion, a one scoop waffle cone of peanut butter ice cream at Miami Ice just down the street does me correctly. If I’m in need to see the stars or get away, the family farm isn’t too far off. ​0​4) What has been in your ears? I love big chunks of ear wax. While rockin’ to the thunder that Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band brought at Sprint Center here in KC, I had a big chunk of ear gunk fall out and it was heavenly. I’m really tickled by the musical foundations a fellow basement dweller named Micah Buzan of Blue Springs, MO is cranking out. He is only 18 and one to watch. Other Kansas City area highlights include The Tambourine Club and The ACBs, who both not only crank out some great and fresh music, but are genuinely lovely lads and don’t boast at the art of playing “rock star”. Far out of this area…I’m excited to hear more from Empire of the Sun as the single “Walking on a Dream” is some of the best dance pop I’ve heard since Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” album. Which, I’ve been rattling the rafters with that ’80s gold as well whenever I tire of the Samey So-So’s of most things current. Though, there are a few great new ones and “Evil Urges” by My Morning Jackets is my favorite album so far in 2008. And I can never get enough Bruce Springsteen in my diet. Every day and sometimes every minute of the day calls for a different selection from The Boss’s healthy catalogue. I’m also into the music of Suicide lately. Oh, and I’m quite convinced that Harry Nilsson is one of our finest song craftsmen as a handful of his albums have really been making sense to me and his range is all over the map. ​0​5) What has been inspiring or refreshing to you lately? The work ethic, ideas, passion and output of singer-songwriters Harry Nilsson and Bruce Springsteen gets me going. I finished reading Cormac McCarthy’s “The Road” for the second and one half times and it is gold. I like Michael Chabon’s writing and work ethic a lot too and am spending my second Fall in his books…the same with Flannery O’Connor. In terms of arts and crafts, Saul Steinberg, Henryk Tomaszewski, Eric Carle and Bill Traylor continue to get me to smiling. Oh, and I must hand out an exclamation to fellow maker Ben Chlapek of Neversleeping.com as he is involved with a lot of lovely creations. ​0​6) Earliest Influences that you can think of? P.T. Anderson’s “Punch-Drunk Love” is my favorite movie and I just took my 8th dip with it. My favorite 2008 movie and the best rockumentary ever so far is “Young @ Heart” and close behind for top of this year is “Be Kind Rewind” and “Son of Rambow”. This Fall and Winter look to boast one of the finest crops of films…I’m highly anticipating “The Road”, “The Wrestler”, “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”, “Synecdoche, NY”, “The Changeling” and many others. Other great watches of late (old and new) include “The Tin Drum”, “Hoop Dreams”, “It’s A Wonderful Life”, “The Wicker Man” (1973), “Sorry, Haters”, “The Seven Year Itch”, “The Cars That Ate Paris”, “Don’t Look Now”, “Dark Days”, “Rat Catcher”, “The King of Kong”, “Alice”, “Dear Wendy” and “The Band’s Visit”. On the small screen, “Planet Earth” is mind-blowing worship that demands for me to invest in a projector for the future. In T.V. Land this summer I discovered and fell in love with “Beauty & The Geek”. I’m excited for the cool new sci-fi show with cool typography called “Fringe” and another season with the excellent “How I Met Your Mother”. Currently I’m backtracking through the entire series of “Sex & The City” and am absolutely loving it and can’t wait to get the movie! Oh, and the live Broadway production of “The Drowsy Chaperone” is gold genius and made me cry. ​0​8) Last best show you have been to? Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band in Kansas City on August 24, 2008. It is the best show I’ve ever seen, even better than two previous Boss concerts. Sprint Center is now officially called Spring Center. Ffurfiwyd yn 1982 ac yn cael i arwyddo i label legendary Pync, Ankst yn gloi. Roedd Pat, Dave a Wyn yn pioneers o gerddoriaeth experimental yn Cymru. Yn rhyddhau ei albwm arloesol, “Wyau” yn 1988, a wnaeth weld Datblygu i goruchwylio gan undryw gorsfaoedd radio. Ond, wnaeth Datblygu gael i ralio gan cyflwynwyr John Peel, ac hyd yn oed cael y siawns i perfformio yn ei sesiwn Peel ei hun, yr un o pump sesiwns efo’r sioe. Drwy’r 80 degau ac 90 deagus, wnaeth Datblygu tyfu i fod un o’r fandiau mwyaf pwysig yn Cymru. Ond, efo Davies yn adael yn y 90 degau, cariodd Pat a Dave ymlaen fel duo. Bron a cyd-ddodasu fewn i fersiwn Cymraeg o Chris a Cosey (Throbbing Gristle). Pat a Dave wnaeth cynhyrddu y sengl olaf dan yr enw Datblygu, sef “Amnesia/Alcohol.”

Hefyd, flwyddyn yma mae Dave Datblygu wedi droi cerddor fewn i awdur, yn rhyddhau series o poems, sy’n cael i arddangos yn llyfr, “Search for English in The House of Tolerance”. Pritchard - Yn diweddar, mae newydd dod yn world record holder, gan cwblhau period o 23 diwrnod yn cynnwys hanner Iron Mans - sy’n cynnwys 1.2 millter o nofio, 56 filltiroedd o seiclo ac 13 miltiroedd o rhedeg pob dyd. Yn canol wneud y sialens, wnaeth casglu £100,000 i elusenau. Mae na mwy, mae Pritchard hefyd yn sylfaenydd o “SWYD” Tattoo a Barbershop. Joyce - Yr “One Warped Southener” ar y llaw arall, mae di newid ei fywyd yn hollol. Yn nawr rhedeg, collectif ar lein o’r enw, “Joyce Division” o artistiaid aerial, olau a cynhyrchydd. Mae’r collectif wedi creu gwaith ar gyfer VANS, Ferrari a series o cwniau athletic.

Yn olaf, Ffa Coffi Pawb, band Indie Cymraeg a wnaeth arwyddo i Ankst yn 1986. Y band yn cynnwys aelodau, Gruff Rhys, Dafydd Ieuan, Rhodri Puw a Dewi Emlyn. Wnaeth y holl band symud ymlaen i ymchwilio llwyddiant fyw yn band, Super Furry Animals ac Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci. Ddim ond yn rhyddhau 3 albwm drwy gydal ei yrfa, yn amseroedd mwy diweddar, mae di braidd di fod yn anodd dilyn y llwyddiant so phob aelod o Ffa Coffi Pawb. 

Gruff Rhys - Flaenydd y Super furry Animals, band Cymraeg Psychedelic a wnaeth dyfu i amlygrwydd gan input Alan McGee, a pwy arwyddodd y band i label Creation Records yn 1995. Efo Gruff Rhys ar flaen Y Super Furries, roedd dim llawer o lle i symud. Ond, ar ol adael y fand yn 2007, mae di symud ymlaen a dilyn yrfa solo, sydd di weld Gruff yn archebu preis Cerddoriaeth Cymraeg, ar gyfer ei albwm, “Hotel Shampoo”.

Dafydd Ieuan - Aelod o’r Super Furry Animals, mae Dafydd yn berchen Strangetown Records, label sydd di cynhyrchu efo ei brawd, Cian Ciaran, hefyn yn aelod y Super Furries. Mae ei band, Y Peth, hefyd di rhyddhau albwm, “The Golden Mile” yn 2008, efo Rhys Ifans yn cyflwyno vocals ar gyfer y LP.

Rhodri Puw - Does na ddim llawer o wybodaeth ar gael i cynrichioli’r dau aelodau olaf o Ffa Coffi Pawb, ond wnaeth Puw ffeindio fwy o llwyddiant efo band, Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci, so dwy ddim yn hollol wael.

Dewi Emlyn - Yr unig wybodaeth ar gael amdano’r elusive Dewi Emlyn yw fod wedi symud ymlaen i rheoli y band Gorky’s.

The Guilty Feminist: From our noble goals to our worst hypocrisies Deborah Frances-White (Virago, 2018)

“I’m a feminist, but...” Dyma sut mae pob podlediad The Guilty Feminist yn dechrau: datganiadau - cyfaddefiadau - o bethau ry’n ni fel ffeministiad yn eu gwneud, sydd efallai ddim yn ffeminist iawn. Er enghraifft, o wefan y podlediad: “I’m a feminist but I detagged myself from a picture at a women’s conference where we were all standing in front of a sign which said ‘Empowered Not Coward’, because my ankles looked fat.”��

Dechreuodd y comediwyr (-wragedd? I’m a feminst but I’m not sure if that’s sexist) Deborah Frances-White a Sofie Hagen y podlediad nol yn 2016, fel ymgais i drafod a chydnabod y gwrthddywediadau sy’n wynebu ffeministiaid yn y byd modern. Mae’n ddoniol iawn, a dwi’n ei fwynhau yn fawr (rhai mwy nag eraill yn dibynnu ar ansawdd y sain, ond mater arall yw hynny). Dwi wedi gwrando ar bron bob un, ac mae gan bob bennod thema: Nudity, Apologising, Body Capability, Democracy, i restru rhai yn unig. Bellach, wrth i mi sgwennu hwn, mae na 132 o benodau ar gael i wrando arnyn nhw, felly digon i ddal lan ag e os y’ch chi heb ei glywed eto. Mae’r llyfr yma’n estyniad o’r podlediad: yn trafod nifer o’r themâu creiddiol i’r trafodaethau sy’n cael eu cynnal yn fyw ar lwyfan, yn ogystal â chynnwys cyfweliadau gyda rhai o’r menywod sydd wedi cyfrannu i’r podlediad dros y blynyddoedd ers iddo gychwyn.

Mae ffeministiaeth Deborah Frances-White yn gynhwysol a chroestoriadol (intersectional), sy’n cydnabod ac yn cynnwys gwahanol brofiadau gwahanol fathau o fenywod: BAME, LGBTQ+ ac o wahanol alluoedd corfforol. Mae hi’n ofalus iawn wrth siarad ar lwyfan acyn y llyfr hwn i beidio â chwympo i’r cawg white feminism, ond hefyd yn cwympo ar ei bai ac yn derbyn beirniadaeth pan fo hi’n gwneud datganiad ar y podlediad sydd wedi cyffredinoli yn ormodol heb ystyried profiadau eraill. Mae’r gyfres yn sicr wedi gwneud i mi sylweddoli beth yw fy mreintiau i (”if you don’t have to think about it, it’s a privilege”) fel menyw wyn, ddosbarth canol, cisgender, heterorywiol. Rhaid cydnabod y breintiau, a sylweddoli bod ein profiad personol ni yn wahanol i rywun arall oherwydd gwahanol ffactorau, ond dyw hynny ddim yn ddigon yn eu hun. Yr hyn y mae’r podlediad, a’r llyfr hwn yn ei dro yn eu gwneud, yw ein hannog ni fel gwrandawyr a darllenwyr i roi platfform i eraill, a chynnig ffyrdd o ddefnyddio’r drysau hynny sydd ar agor i ni’n bersonol, a’u hagor i’r rheiny sydd ddim yn gallu mynd drwyddyn nhw mor hawdd. Cynnig llaw i eraill ddringo’r ysgol, yn hytrach na thynnu’r ysgol oddi wrthynt. Mae Frances-White yn ceisio sicrhau fod na gynrychiolaeth i bob lleiafrif yn ei dro ym mhenodau’r podlediad, ac mae hyn wedi rhoi cyfle i mi’n bersonol glywed straeon pobl na fyswn i erioed wedi dod ar eu traws nhw fel arall. Mae’r cyfweliadau gyda gwahanol fenywod o bob cefndir ar ddiwedd bob pennod hefyd yn fodd i wneud hyn, ac yn enghraifft berffaith o’r modd y mae Deborah Frances-White yn hapus i rannu ei phlatfform a throsglwyddo’r awenau i eraill yn hytrach na meiddio siarad ar eu rhan.

Er mai llyfr comedi yw hwn mewn nifer o ffyrdd, mae hefyd yn trafod pynciau o bwys ac yn llawn ymchwil trylwyr. Fel cyfrol Sara Pascoe, Animal, o’i flaen, mae The Guilty Feminist yn lyfr sydd wedi’i angori mewn llyfrau hanes ac astudiaethau gwyddonol a chymdeithasegol. Does na ddim datganiadau di-sail yma. Mae Frances-White yn cyflwyno hanes ffeministaieth i ddechrau, gan ein harwain drwy y gwahanol donnau sydd wedi bod, a’r holl ffurfiau gwahanol y mae ffeministiaeth wedi ac yn ei gymryd. Wedi gosod y cyd-destun, mae’n bryd trafod yn fwy manwl ar y pwnc. Mae hi’n mynd i’r afael â delwedd corff, a cheisio dysgu i garu ein cyrff am yr hyn maen nhw’n gallu eu gwneud yn hytrach na sut maen nhw’n edrych (still working on it). Ceir pennod ar fenywod yn y gwaith, gyda tips ar sut i siarad mwy mewn cyfarfod a sut i wneud cyflwyniad neu ofyn am godiad cyflog yn llwyddiannus. Mae na engraifft diddorol, sy’n codi drwy gydol y llyfr, sy’n dyfeisio arbrawf yn cynnwys dau efaill (gwrywaidd). Mae gan y ddau efaill dychmygol hyn yr un cefndir, yr un galluoedd, yr un potensial. Mae un yn cael ei annog, yn clywed ei fod yn medru gwneud popeth a fod unrhywbeth y mae eisiau ei drio yn bosib, tra fod y llall yn cael ei gymharu yn anffafriol â’i frawd, yn cael llai o arian poced am yr un gwaith, yn clywed ei fod yn *gallu* neud pethe ond fod na un arall fel fe yn barod yn gwneud y peth hwnnw felly does na ddim lle iddo hefyd. Yn fras, mae un yn cael ei drin fel dyn (gwyn, cyfoethog, hetero, cis) a’r llall fel y mae menywod (yn gyffrdinol yn cael eu trin. Mae’n gyffredinoli llwyr, wrth gwrs, ond mae’n fodd o ddangos y duedd gyffredinol yn y gwahaniaeth rhwng dynion a menywod, a’r modd y mae agwedd cymdeithas tuag atynt yn siapio’u personoliaethau a’r modd y maen nhw’n ymwneud â’r byd. 

Ar adegau, ro’n i’n teimlo efallai fod y llyfr yn trio cyfiawnhau rhai pethau yn ormodol, efallai. Ro’n i’n teimlo fod y bennod tua diwedd y llyfr sy’n trafod rhai o ‘guilty pleasures’ fel Romcoms, neu Say Yes to the Dress, er enghraifft, yn gorfeddwl pethau ychydig. Mae na rhywbeth i ddweud am y ffaith mai weithiau diwrnod priodas yw’r unig gyfle y mae rhai menywod yn cael i gael rhoi eu barn heb gael ei gwestiynu neu gael pethau yn union fel y mae hi ei eisiau, ond eto dwi’n nabod pobl sydd â rheolaeth mewn nifer o wahanol agweddau o’u bywydau a sy’n dal wedi cael eu hunain yn mynd braidd yn obsessive am centrepieces. Weithiau ni’n neud pethe am ein bod ni’n eu mwynhau nhw, ac efallai nad yw hi’n ddefnydiol i graffu’n ormodol am y rheswm pam. I’m a feminist but I like romcoms.

Fel y disgwylir mewn llyfr ar ffeministiaeth, mae na bethau anodd yn cael eu trafod rhwng y cloriau, a dyw e ddim i gyd yn fflwff am hunan-gred (ddim o gwbl, a dweyd y gwir). Mae’r gyfrol yn codi pwyntiau diddorol a phwysig am sut y mae cymdeithas yn ystyried gwerth bywydau dynion: y syniad yma o “women and children first” sy’n un o ddadleuon Men’s Rights Activists. Mae’n dangos dipyn am Deborah Frances-White nad yw hi (fel y byddai’n hawdd ei wneud) yn diystyru safbwyntiau MRAs fel sexists hunanbwysig ond yn hytrach yn cydnabod yr hyn y maent yn ei gredu ac yn parchu eu barn, gan eu hystyried â meddwl beirniadol yn hytrach nag emosiynol. Parch a chariad yw’r prif linynnau drwy’r llyfr, a dweud y gwir: ceir ynddo nifer o wahanol enghreifftiau o bŵer gwrando ar brofiad a barn rhywun, sy’n gwneud iddyn nhw deimlo fod ganddyn nhw rywbeth sydd yn werth ei ddweud. Mae’r mudiad y mae Deborah Frances-White wedi ei greu yn un sydd, dwi’n siwr, wedi gwneud i bobl na fyddai fyth wedi meddwl am eu hunain fel ffeministiaid i uniaethu â’r gair, ac wedi cymryd camau pwysig i agor pob math o ddrysau i bob math o fenyw.

I've gone by many names over many journeys, but you can call me Vex Takor.

I'm an LGBT+ author making LGBT+ stories for all types of adults and young adults alike. My goal is to wrap personal themes of self discovery, generational trauma, self-acceptance, and finding your place in the world in a blanket of fantasy, monsters, and supernatural tales that would be right at home in an animated series.

When I'm not writing, I work as a freelance illustrator and animator. I love cats and their criminal ways, my favorite food to make is soup, and my ambition in life is to have a physical copy of my book(s), "Find Your Wings," in my hands in the next five years. I wanted to make an animated series, but a book is much more affordable. ;>

Find Your Wings is about the meek owner of a local hang-out club that has the spirit of a monster. When someone finds out his secret, he has to fight for proof that he has a reason to exist, or risk losing everything that gives his life meaning.

Full of mystery, magic, laughs, and deeply personal themes of self-discovery, it is my hope that Find Your Wings finds its place in a few hearts.
