Like how are you even supposed to go to the toilet if you have a break that is less than 5 min?? Esp since every single student will go at the same time????
Making a new one because my little Portuguese brain couldn't fathom that people in other countries had basically 0 minutes between classes. What kind of hell do you guys go through at school? Jesus christ!
No lunch break. No blank periods.
Just the time you had from the finish bell of a class and the beginning bell of the next.
#Every class started at x:00 and ended at x:45#Then break from x:45 to y:00#Eg. 8:00-8:45 class 8:45-9:00 break#It was the same in elementary and high school#All 13 years#First deviation was uni#With 80min classes and 20min breaks

Haikyuu boy headcanons: “moving out” edition
Hinata— surprisingly self sufficient. Cooks and cleans as easy as if it were breathing. Once he gets a schedule up, he’s on fire and no one can stop him. Is usually the host for smaller gatherings with his friends.
Kageyama— cannot cook to save his life. Calls Suga for help the first night in realizing he’s got no food and unfortunately Suga can’t cook either so he brings Daichi along, and Kageyama spends his first night with his friends. Hinata pouts when he finds out there was a party and he wasn’t invited.
Daichi— moves out the first chance he gets and into an apartment close to his university with Suga and starts up this roommates to lovers sort of deal. Cooks like nobody’s business. Sucks at laundry. First time he tried, he made all of his and Suga’s white shirts pink.
Suga— loves cooking. Everyone else does not love Suga cooking. Calls Daichi his “saviour” for knowing how to follow a recipe. Otherwise, he’s pretty eager to move out of his parents’ house and house hunted with Daichi for months before they settled on this one.
Oikawa— didn’t want to move out but was convinced once Iwaizumi told him that technically his parents couldn’t limit his volleyball hours anymore (a scam, since it was Iwaizumi limiting his volleyball hours now). Cleans to self soothe and gets scolded for it. Only knows how to operate a rice cooker.
Iwaizumi— didn’t necessarily want to move out but decided that he had to because he was an adult now and should experience new things anyway. Moved in with Oikawa specifically to monitor his behaviour and make sure he didn’t overwork himself or die of starvation. Totally not because they were best friends.
Ushijima— was already half moved out because of the Shiratorizawa dorms, so his own apartment seemed the natural next step. His family got him one and told him that once he gets stable footing, he’d be paying them back. Hosts gatherings at his place because it’s big enough but he’s not really the host. Usually it’s either Tendou or Semi.
Tendou— asked Ushijima whether he wanted to live together once they graduated when they started second year, but didn’t expect him to remember and go through with it. Bakes at disgusting hours in the morning. Sleeps during the day. Doesn’t do laundry.
Semi— lives alone in a studio apartment paid for by his dad. Self sufficient enough to survive but spends 90% of his time at Ushijima and Tendou’s place anyway. Eats their food. Though he does disappear into hyperfixation phases where he doesn’t emerge from his apartment for days at a time because he’s writing songs.
Kita— doesn’t move out of his house… ever. Lives at home for uni, lives at home when he works because his work is at home. Cooks and cleans on the daily schedule he made when he was ten years old and Does Not Deviate. Goes out once a week with his grandma for groceries.
Atsumu— cries when Osamu says he’s moving before realizing that he would be moving because of volleyball anyway. Takes surprisingly good care of himself because he “has to be at his best to do his best”. Frequents Onigiri Miya and crashes on Osamu’s couch three days out of the week.
Osamu— lives above the first Onigiri Miya location and obviously cooks for himself and Atsumu. Makes Atsumu do his laundry in exchange for free food. Calls their mother once a week and sends Suna embarrassing photos of Atsumu while he’s asleep.
Kuroo— moves out for college into a dorm for his freshman year but into an apartment with Kenma once Kenma graduates. Calls himself the house husband even though Kenma’s the one sitting at home all day and juggles his chemistry homework with making sure his best friend doesn’t starve.
Kenma— did not want to move out at first but once his company expanded he realized he needed his own space. Went house hunting with Suga after Suga’s HGTV phase and ended up picking the first one they went to. Forgets to eat so Kuroo makes him finish dinner before he gets to go back to work.
Bokuto— moves into MSBY dorms when he gets signed. Gets mopey within the week. Goes back to Tokyo to visit Akaashi whenever he gets the chance and does this so often that Akaashi’s parents just gave him a key and told him to go nuts.
Akaashi— lives at home during college but moves in with Bokuto once he graduates. Does majority of the disaster management in the house and persuades Bokuto not to try making soufflé at 2am. He doesn’t do any of the cooking and cleaning because Bokuto says that he’s busy enough and “needs to practice for when Agaashee becomes a famous busy author”.

I've been seeing a lot of dunking on Chimera lately (deserved) so I decided to pitch in. I might have hyped this up already, but it's finally here. Welcome to...
A Serious Review of Meteorcare's Designs
by gleepatrol/Mod Rocket
Disclaimer: THIS IS BY NO MEANS TO SUPPORT CHIMERA! For many reasons. In fact, this was made to clown on him, but in a thoughtful way where the readers can get something useful out of it.
CW: blood and eyestrain, but you probably already knew that.
Under the cut because this is long.
First and foremost, let's introduce our victims. I will mostly keep myself limited to the worst designs of the bunch so we actually have something to talk about.
Meet Pepper, Fotoh, Bea, and Banger. And their parents because it will be relevant: Doom and Uni, unknown, Bec and Scratch, and Hemera and Uni, respectively. I will put those parent characters below so we have some context.
One last touch, I'm not touching the silhouettes or outfits except for color tweaks. They're fine. They're whatever.
Case 1: Pepper
My immediate thought looking at this character: where did half of these colors come from?
The purple is technically from Uni (Cometcare Uni's wings to be exact. But she can change the color of those at any moment? I don't think that would be genetic or end up being the main body color even if they were.) and the white is from Doom, but the green? The blue? The grey? No freaking clue! You could argue the blue and green are from Doom's ear stripes, but how is such a minor area spreading to their tail and eyes? They only make sense on the ears. On an extra note, this also begs the question, where are the fur patterns from? You can and should deviate a little from the parents, don't get me wrong. I'm not a fan of miniature clone children myself, but Pepper's patterns make him look more like a raccoon more than a dog/rat hybrid.
My second thought, what is the theme here? I believe it's supposed to be arcadecore or party themed but that's not clear from the name or design. I only glimpsed that information from their bio. These colors don't really read arcade or party. They feel random since they neither relate to the theme or very strongly to her parents' colors. If anything, Uni's original electric magenta read arcade better! It's the lack of intent that bothers me. I cannot see the vision!
One more minor note: the grey and purple blend in quite a bit. I would make one and/or the other lighter and/or darker. Don't believe me? Let's try the classic black and white filter trick.
Unreadable. As I said. But hey buddy, you genuinely look better in black and white! I don't have to look at those random colors! Here's Doom in black and white for reference.
You can still tell what's a different color.
But anyway. Enough yapping. Let me show you visually how I would change Pepper. Don't you dare use this if you are Chimera or any associate of his. This isn't a free redesign for you or your cronies. I will speak up if I catch any of you using anything I edit from here on out.
PS: I've heard some roasts of Pepper's arm, but I rather like it myself. It gives a new spin on Doom's multiple limbs thing and if you got a problem with that you have a problem with Smoky Quartz from Steven Universe who did this first. Anyway!
Doesn't this read better as a Doomi child who likes to party? The colors are simper and more intentful now!
I also tried to combine some similar colors such as making the blue on the shirt match the eyes and the red becoming pink to reduce the overall pallet.
Case 2: Fotoh
Need I say it again? What do these colors have to do with the theme? Also, too many colors! Her allotpun is photonegative which are those inverse color pictures like this:
Cool theme! We are barely using it though. Easy fix. Keep the blue colors and toss almost everything else! There were way too many colors with no apparent reason to have so many.
This is still ugly imo but it's justfiably ugly given the theme, so I can excuse it. Take it I guess. She actually looks nice when. Well, photonegatived (right image) so uh gimmick character. I couldn't think of anything better. I know she's still ugly. Feel free to improve on my edit because I'll accept that.
Case 3: Bea
Where. Do I even start. This is the opposite problem as Pepper. We are taking Too Many of the parents' colors. It's too much, very busy. Why are those pink spots there? Neither parent has spots of that color! My suggestion, pick some of the coherent colors of the parents that go together well, not all of them. I will respect this character being so neon due to lore reasons, but geeezzzzz neon doesn't mean complete eyebleed. Taking a look at Bec and Scratch, they both have blue as a prominent color, so we can play with that to start off the pallet. Bec also has yellow while Scratch is green. These could work as well since they are analogous colors to blue. Keep in mind analogous and complementary colors when designing! It's very helpful! While Bec also has purple eyes and Scratch has pink ones with pink elsewhere, I'm going to mostly ignore these colors since they would add too much to both be included.
(Aside note, I just noticed while trying to edit how many coloring and linework errors Bea has; goodness gracious. But that's not the point of this essay.)
You can see I also changed the scar color because they were just abrasively pink and colored as if they were fresh which I'll take a wild guess and assume they're not. Also, I snuck in Bec's purple into the shorts because "why orange?"
Base 4: Banger
Oh, no. It's the final boss. Is that One Winged Angel playing in the background? (Haha Banger only has one wing, two for one joke) All jokes aside, hoooooo boy. I. Yeah. Okay, first of all, why does he have stitched on parts? That shouldn't be inherited from Hemera. Those are not genetic! Those were part of her design because she was being tortured like a science experiment! By no logic should Banger have these unless he was also experimented on which would be weird since Sparklecare shouldn't exist anymore if it's a Cometcare kid. First tip, get rid of this. Second, the only way I can phrase this point is: "this is my son, he has every disease". Broken horn, torn ear, glows-a-lot (which neither Hemera nor Uni have), sewn on parts, only one wing. Some of these are fine in isolation but all of them just feels ridiculous especially with no reason given. I think the reason might be it's reckelss so everything got hurt so I'll keep the broken or torn stuff and the one wing thing because that's the most interesting twist I'll say: only having one wing. Also, why are there patterns on your wings? Where did that come from? That's an artstyle thing, you realize that right? Not part of Uni's actual design? Also, need I say this again, say it with me folks: too many colors! And where are they from? The only ones that seem to be from somewhere is the purple and yellow from Uni but I can't read a single hint of Hemera here except for the replaced limbs which I already explained how I don't understand that decision.
I think he's supposed to be beach themed? But honestly, it's giving random button on the Picrew instead.
So, here's what I have. I still kept the belly orange but this time it was for a reason: to have a sunset color. Pretend it's Hemera's yellow and Uni's purple mixed.
I also added some blue to make the Hemera part clearer and changed the glows-a-lot to hemophilia like Hemera to make his connection to her clearer. The wing is now from Uni's pink wing to go with the sunset theme as are the orange shorts.
And that's all!
Congratulations! You survived this essay! If you're Not Chimera, feel free to steal my edits. Fair game! I allow you to!
TLDR: Stop including so many unnecessary colors without a clear theme in mind and stop giving them every feature from their parents combined! Look at a color wheel for analogous and complementary colors, and use your black and white filter every now and again!

You’re actually wild. Like the first fic you posted on AO3 was in December and since then you have 33 fics up?? You’re insane! And most of them being Viktor/Reader?? You’re feeding Viktor Fucker Nation.
I have some questions for the ask thing! 10 and 14. And then I’m curious about stuff related to the questions 12/13 - like what your writing history is, what kinds of stuff did you write pre Arcane, did you write fanfic before, etc?
I’m curious about how you like writing /reader? I know the first couple things you posted were OCs with Joe and Renly. But OC stuff doesn’t get as much attention as /reader - is that why you switched over to that kinda stuff? Sometimes I don’t love second person POV and it took me a bit to get used to so I’m curious as to your thoughts.
You are so right, insane is what I am :v I just checked my AO3 and it says I wrote 270K words (after subtracting the doubled ones). Lol I need help I think.
Honesty being fed by requests makes it so much easier to write. I was actually very nervous at the beginning (and still am when I deviate from the subject because I get struck by a severe case of brain death in the middle), but it only helped me to formulate my thoughts better. I had no idea how much power is in prompting. And the ask game:
10. Is there a character or ship you'd love to write for, but haven't yet?
14. What makes you happiest? New fic comments, kudos, bookmarks, user subscribers, story subscribers, or Tumblr asks?
Interactions, like, beyond anything. Comments, asks, anything that people want to say to me. I was on the reading side for a long time and rarely brought myself to commenting because of some weird shame and this fear that I might be disturbing the author. Now I’m beating my chest and coming back to all those fics I loved and commenting, because finally, FINALLY I know how it feels when the void answers and I never ever want to lose this feeling and I want to give it back to the authors I love. Once, I received an art for my fic and it made me stop in the middle of the street and miss my tram, legit tears in my eyes. People saying that they’ve read something of mine and they got back to writing. I mean, it just feels so good I’m almost ok with the fact that Viktor is fictional :’)
12/13. First fandom/Do you have an 'official' creative writing background such as a degree or previous experience publishing?
Arcane is the first one I’m writing for in terms of fanfiction! And background hmm… not for the works that contain plot I would say? I write a lot for TTRPGs so I’m familiar with plot mechanics, pacing and character creations. I wrote my own tabletop game some time ago (like 2 years?). But it’s very pagan so never published it, Slavic mythology focused :v I used to write film reviews and music reviews during my uni times. But most of my writing before this was character creation for tabletop games. I also write down a lot from the books I like, I read quite a lot.
And regarding Reader/ or 2nd person POV: in the beginning I felt STUPID writing it, I have no idea why, despite the fact that I actually enjoy them as a reader myself (now I think I have no preference, I just like good stories). And because I’m a classified masochist I HAD TO TRY. So I went slow and rewrote the story from 3rd person to 2nd person POV at first. Then I wrote first Reader one-shot and now it feels natural. Same deal with present tense - completely alien at first, until I HAD TO because my sorry ass wanted coherent flashbacks. So I forced myself to learn and now I prefer it, adds to the urgency and reinforces the feeling of starvation when I’m writing sex :v
Hihi it feels so funny to know you’ve been there reading my shit from the beginning in the corners of AO3, like kicking my feet, twirling my hair funny, thank you 🖤
ask game

You dont think emertius is a name? I always see them referred to as emeritus brothers
Hi anon,
obviously I don't know what TF thought and planned - there are a ton of lore inconsistencies and deviations from how real world things would work, after all (because Ghost stuff isn't that deep and we, including TF, are here to have fun) - but in *my* opinion it is not a family name, but a title. At the very least it was intended as a title originally:
Emeritus as a real world addition to the title (papa or professor etc.) simply means they've retired from their position and are still there but, like, chilling. My fave Prof at uni did it and he'd still be around and help students and do research, but he didn't hold the chair anymore. Also see what Josef Ratzinger/ Pope Benedict XVI did when he said 'bye suckers'
Benedict was also a hilarious case of messing up TFs idea shortly after starting Ghost: Papa I, originally, was supposed to be undead, that's the whole joke here: because until Benedict XVI retired in 2013, usually (bc the last pope retirement happened in 1415) papacy meant sitting on that damn chair in the Vatican until you die. So a "retired" Papa meant he had died. This alone is - to me - a perfectly fine reason to assume that TF meant "Papa Emeritus" as a whole title and not just "Papa" with Emeritus as family name
if you go from Catholicism then the Family Name of the person becoming Papa/Pope doesn't get included in the papal name, but rather you take on a whole new name (Josef Ratzinger becoming Pope Benedict XVI and not Pope Ratzinger)
Of course it IS a bit weird that they're Papa Emeritus (0) I-IV when the line of papacy has started with Nihil's father's father(many fathers here)...but that's just one of the goofy inconsistencies in the Ghost lore I guess.
IMHO this started out of a) confusion over latin words and knowledge about general catholic church working and b) the desire to know these dudes names. Until long into Papa IIIs reign it was normal to call them papa i, ii, iii, only into the later Papa III era and especially with Copia fronting the band the trend of calling them Primo, Secondo and Terzo came up and only in the late Cardi/Popia era the Emeritus last name thing really took off (afair).
(Sidenote: I won't get into the first name debate here, bc honestly it doesn't matter; but I WILL say that numbers can be valid names, especially when your father kinda doesn't care, but also see: Prima, Secunda, Quintus, Sextus, Septimus, Octavian, ... just to give a few Roman names. and Papa 0 is reffered to as "nihil", so I don't think it's too far off to call the others by their italian succession number names))
Use Emeritus as a last name if you want, obviously! This is a playground and you can HC whatever the hell you want. In *my personal opinion* based on the catholic church, TF's sense of humour and general latin words, the title is "Papa Emeritus" and Emeritus is not a last name.
#it talks#info#the band ghost#ghost#papa emeritus#but again do whatever you want#we are just playing with satanic dolls here#also pls if the person who wrote the fic where papa iiis first name was timothy reads this pls send me a message ive been thinking about#that for years and it still cracks me tf up

Episode 2 similarities and differences between Ossan's Love (2018) and Ossan's Love Thailand
[Ep 1; Ep 2; Ep 3; Ep 4; Ep 5]
(disclaimer: I have watched all of the Haruta + Maki version of OL [Ossan's Love, Ossan's Love: LOVE or DEAD, Ossan's Love Returns] except for the specials which I haven't gotten around to, and I've watched the airport AU season Ossan's Love: In the Sky. I haven't watched the original one shot episode and the Hong Kong version.)
(disclaimer #2: This is just for fun. I'm not intending to make any statements over which version is superior or anything like that in this post. If you noticed something I missed please let me know so I can add it! I only rewatched ep 2 of the Japanese version for this post.)
For the sake of my lazieness I will use Tv for Thai version and Jv for Japanese Version.
Structured scene by scene of the Tv like last time.
The adaptaition is already deviating from the original more this episode but there were still a lot of similarities so here goes:
At the Restaurant + Flashback to Morning After:
Tv starts episode 2 with Heng talking to Chicha and Thua-ngok about the two confessions he received and them betting on wheter Mo meant it (Chicha) or was joking (Thua). There is also a flashback to the morning after the shower kiss where Mo makes breakfast for Heng, pretends nothing happened and runs out of the house as quickly as possible. The scene with Chicha and Thua doesn't exist in the Jv though one could argue it somewhat takes the place of the ep 1 scene where Haruta tells Chizu about the boss's confession. Obviously though in the Tv both men have already confessed and the focus of the scene is more on Mo's real intentions than H's feelings about getting confessed to by his boss. Instead the Jv starts with the morning after, which happens similarily to the Tv, though Haruta in the Jv didn't really try to initiate a conversation as much as Heng. (Also H touches his lips here which the Tv possibly references later after his talk with Ten.) One other thing of note is that in the Jv Maki tells Haruta about coming home late so he's prepared curry for him to heat up (setting up the food H finds after their fight).
Boss's Office:
Tv continues with Heng meeting the boss in his office. Here we get Heng being awkward because he keeps remembering the confession, Boss using his nickname (Hengny) on H and explaining it and the set-up for Heng and Mo working together on the next case. This is quite different in the Jv, the boss is actually out of office that day and Haruta goes straight into meeting the new clients. I'm not completely sure boss ever explained the nickname in the Jv (Haru-tan) but definitley not in ep 2 (also he had previously already used it in the confession scene).
Meeting the New Clients:
After Heng, once again tries to initiate a conversation about the kiss and Mo evades, they meet the new clients Alone and Kaitong, possibly on site for the first viewing. This is, again, a story line where the Tv increased M's screentime and involvement as in the Jv Haruta handles this case completely by himself. In a more minor change he meets them at the office not on site. The clients are quite different though their conflict is similar. We have in the Tv: Alone, an insurance broker and H's junior (peer-mentee) at uni, and his boyfriend Kaitong, no job specified. (Alone and Kaitong are obvious references to Alan and Gaipa from Moonlight Chicken so all of that is naturally different from the Jv) The Jv has: Kazu, published author and H's junior (not sure where, the subtitles only say they grew up together but I heard "kouhai") and his fiance who is a marathon runner (I don't think her name is ever said but I might have missed it). In both versions they tell H how they met with the Tv referencing Moonlight Chicken, in the Jv they met when Kazu interviewed her as reference for his book. H being shaken up by their relationship is exclusive to the Tv where they serve to have Heng consider the idea of same-sex partnership more seriously for the first time. (Since they're a hetero couple in the Jv that doesn't happen.)
Looking at Condos:
Heng and Mo take the clients to two different condos with Kaitong prefering the first, Alone the second and them getting increasingly annoyed with eo every time. This is quite similar to the Jv though some differences are: (1) no Maki, (2) houses instead of apartments, (3) more detail on the properties and why each of the clients likes/dislikes them esp. for the fiance (e.g. Kazu needs space for his research materials, the fiance needs a big bath to stretch out after training, ...) for the Tv it's basically only cute kitchen (cozy home to spend time with family) vs. big meeting space (possibility of working at home). In the Tv both Heng and Mo ask the clients about their relationship, attempting to better understand what's happening with their own.
Back at the office:
Again we have Heng trying to talk to Mo about the kiss, with Mo first telling him they shouldn't work on this case together (because the clients fighting is already enough, they don't need to add to it) and then pretending to be asleep to escape the conversation. This, again, is a scene that basically doesn't happen in the Jv (since H worked on this case alone from the start). Instead Haruta talks to Takegawa about his clients fighting which leads to their talk.
Advice Ten and Heng:
Heng and Ten talk about the clients and then Heng tells him about the kiss and asks for advice on how to proceed. There are many similarities here to the Jv including the dicussion of the clients' fight (though Ten's words about the danger of transitional times is more similar to something the boss says on the rooftop in the Jv, Takegawa is a little more negative and talks about living together as two different people), H asking T about his personal feelings/experience (Takegawa in the Jv is somewhat opposed/indifferent to the concept of marriage SPOILER aside from personality reasons possibly due to marriage being unattainable to him as a middle-aged gay man in a politically conservative country without same-sex marriage.), H poorly pretending all of this is about a friend and not himself and T telling H it must have been genuine. Some more differences are (1) Maika overhears and later joins in the conversation in the Jv, (2) the gender of the kisser is discussed in the Jv but not the Tv. The Tv ends this scene with Heng touching his lips, a possible reference to the Jv morning after scene as mentioned previously.
Advice Meow and Mo:
Somewhat intertwined with the H&T advice scene we have Meow and Mo in the restaurant with Mo asking Meow for advice from his perspective. This scene is somewhat of an amalgamation of different Jv scenes. We have Meow and Thua's first meeting which happens in a later episode in the Jv, the fish in yoghurt dish + song inspo which happens in a later scene with Chizu and Haruta in the Jv and Meow advising Mo which also happens in a later scene in the office in the Jv. Similarities for this conversation: M saying he fell for someone he shouldn't have, Maika/Meow encouraging him about love. Differences: Maika's first idea being adultery and telling Maki quite firmly that that's a sin, Maika relating to the idea of love that's not meant to be (Meow has already met Thua so), no discussion of the kiss in the Jv. We also have Jv Maki saying he feels bad he can't stop feeling this love and Maika telling him that you need to play it cool sometimes and Tv Mo telling Meow he doesn't think Heng reciprocates and that he'd rather keep his feelings inside than lose him as a friend (this part is shown only after Mo tells Heng it was all a joke in the Tv).
(
Lunch Tomorrow:
In the Jv we get a brief scene where Maro acts bossy towards Maki. Then Maki and later Haruta read a message on Haruta's pc from the boss asking him to meet for lunch the next day. Then we get a shot of the boss at HQ receiving Haruta's agreement and being happy about it.
At the Bar:
Previously mentioned scene in the Jv at the bar with Chizu, Haruta and Teppei present. We learn that Chizu has a new job, Teppei serves his fish in yoghurt dish and finds inspiration for a new song (though he pulls out his guitar and demonstrates it with melody not just lyrics), Chizu and Haruta talk once again about boss (that he asked Haruta to wait until his divorce, Chizu is impressed how serious boss is and still thinks Haruta should go for it then the convo gets a bit more crass with Haruta asking if she wants him to be "the Chief's bitch"[according to subtitles] and Chizu telling him he's got "bags of money"[which has a double meaning referring to balls])
Divorce:
In the middle of the previous scene there's also a cut to Choko researching about divorce and trying to find evidence for a possible affair.
Office at Night:
Maki is staying late (avoiding Haruta), Maika comes back because she left her charger, the previously discussed talk between them happens, Maika figures out that Haruta and Maki were talking about each other here already.
)
Just a Joke:
Heng comes home to Mo sleeping on the sofa and covers him with a blanket, waking him up. This happens the other way around in the Jv (H sleeping on sofa, M covering with blanket) (there's also a bag with a carton of milk that Maki had previously asked Haruta to buy on his way home) Then in both versions M tells H the kiss was just a joke and H was supposed to have reacted to it as such. H asks M how he was supposed to know that and then tells him how stessed he's been about the kiss the whole time. Both H's are relieved at this being cleared up though Jv's Haruta is a little more homophobic about it (telling Maki "guys should never, ever kiss"). The beginning of the conversation is also a bit different with Haruta trying to sneak past Maki and Maki just straight up telling him it was a joke in the Jv, while the Tv keeps the possibility of Mo telling the truth a little bit longer. Both versions end with H walking away and M looking sad though the Jv also has Maki seeing time & place for next day's lunch meeting between Haruta and boss on Haruta's phone.
(
Boss's Bedroom:
Choko tries to snoop through her husband's phone and hears him call "Haru-tan" in his sleep and asks him if he loves Haru-tan which he affirms. She mistakenly comes to the conclusion that he must be having an affair with a woman named Haruka.
)
Clients Fight Again:
In both versions H looks at yet another property with the clients who proceed to fight even more and ultimately decide not to live together (not to get married because they can't live together in the Jv). Again there's a bit more detail on all of the reasons they can't agree on one place in the Jv. H agreeing that they should live apart (but not because of double comission fees) is exclusive to the Tv. (This might be subjective but I'd say both in this scene and the first one, H's friend comes across as a little less reasonable/more selfish than his respective partner in both versions).
You Reap What You Sow:
This scene doesn't really have an equivalent in the Jv. Heng and Mo have lunch together, talking about the clients. Heng thinks they'll break up, Mo tells him people who really love eo will find a way to overcome their differences. Heng relates that to the two of them because they love eo. He's saying this as a joke intending to continue on from Mo's "joke" kiss. Mo doesn't get he's joking at first. There's no such joke attempt from H in the Jv. The scene ends with boss texting Heng asking him to come to the roof urgently. In the Jv they had already scheduled the rooftop meeting the previous day.
(
Mrs. Kurosawa:
In the Jv there is a brief scene of Choko arriving at the office in her quest to look for "Haruka". She is greeted by Takegawa and Maro (who seems to be interested in her).
)
Rooftop Lunch Meeting:
This scene is pretty similar in both versions with H and boss meeting on a bench on the roof and boss giving him a home-made lunchbox. Heng's initial fear about getting fired is exclusive to the Tv (again: Jv the meeting was preplanned vs Tv where the boss called him there urgently). In the Jv the lunch is a little more elaborate but there is no reference to M cooking for H as the boss is not yet aware of their living situation. (At most one could draw a connection of the boss mentioning Haruta likes karaage and that being what Maki was planning to cook when Haruta caught him with his groceries and invited him to move in.) Both versions have boss anxiously awaiting H's verdict on his cooking, both H's find it very delicious. Notable differences: Jv boss tries to feed H at first and takes a commemorative selfie with H after getting his approval, Tv boss bites his lip as he waits for the verdict and gives H a spoon instead of chopsticks. Both versions then switch to talking about H's troubles with his clients and then bring up H's first case as an example of him having dealt with worse. Small difference in the Tv boss first has to remind him that he's supposed to find something for them to live together as Heng had come to believe they'd better live apart. The first cases are quite different in both versions with the Jv: daughter wants elderly man to sell his house as he's too old to take care of it, he refuses to leave because of a tree in the garden that reminds him of his late wife. H's solution is to replant the tree in the new house. Tv: son of chicken rice seller (another MLC reference) wants him to sell the place and move because he doesn't want his aging father having to walk up and down stairs so often, father refues to move because of his regular customers. H's solution is to renovate the house. Further differences: in the Jv we briefly return to present time between set-up and resolution of the first client problem, also Haruta cries when the old man explains about the tree. Back in the present Jv boss is a little more philosophical about their job and rubs H's back. We also get a brief shot of Maki arriving at HQ (whose roof they're on in the Jv). Then both versions ask H if he remembers what happened after that with H eventually remembering that a robber stole a briefcase from them, H caught him and boss twisted his ankle in the process. Differences: (1) Tv boss berates Heng first because his solution made them miss out on the comission fee (no house was bought/sold), (2) Jv robber steals bag with contract from Heng, Tv robber steals bag with wallet from boss, (3) Tv boss falls when robber takes the bag (and Heng initially goes to help him not follow the thief), Jv boss trips after H has caught the robber, (4) Tv H only talks about catching the robber, we don't see it. Back on the rooftop both bosses ask what else happend and both H's can't think of anything leading both bosses to complain that the next scene was the most important (Jv: "fatal moment" Tv: "highlight of the story"). The cinderella moment happens pretty much the same aside from some stylistic choices. Afterwards we get the Jv boss telling H he asked his wife for a divorce while the Tv boss promises to talk to his daughter (this is the first time Heng learns about boss's daughter). Both H's try to protest and are interrupted by M's arrival.
(
Choko at the Office:
Brief interlude in the Jv as we see Choko at the office with Takegawa, Maika, Maro and another female employee. Maro is hitting on Choko (not very subtley or taktfully), Choko is asking the women about their names still trying to find a "Haruka".
)
The Fight:
Both versions begin pretty much the same with M complaining about boss mixing private matters with work and making H uncomfortable, both pointing out the lunch upon boss's protest. Difference: In Tv boss immediately gets up to meet M's challenge, in Jv H is the first to get up to stop M while boss initially leans back into the bench in a display of nonchalance. Both bosses ask H if M is telling the truth, both Hs deny, both Ms reply that he won't say so because boss is his boss. Both Ms then declare their intentions to fight boss for H, both Hs try to react to the "joke", both get brushed off by M (though "The adults are talking" is a Tv exclusive). In the Jv M argues that he cooks and cares for H (this being the first time the boss finds out about them living together). Boss replies that he's been working with H for 10 years and has made him who he is today. In the Tv they go "friends for years" vs. "working together for over 10" directly. Then both versions have boss asking about 10 good qualities and M countering asking about 10 bad ones. Here both versions diverge a bit with the Jv: boss stating H's only bad quality is that he's too cute while M lists a bunch of bad ones which the boss gets mad at him for. Both then grab each other by the collar and continue to shout in eo faces. H gets pushed over in the process. He gets back up and pushes them apart, screaming at them to stop fighting over him. Some sort of bell rings 1pm and both men head back to work, H scrambling to pack up the lunchbox. Tv: boss lists bad qualities of Heng with Mo elaborating on them. H tries to stop them and they tell him to stay out of it, pushing him over in the process. (Both Hs fall remarkably similarly.) Boss and M repeat "He will choose me." at each other and push their foreheads against eo until boss gets a call from a client which snaps both him and M into professional work mode discussing how to proceed with that client and walking off together. H, still on the floor screams in confusion. The instant fight to professional switch is possibly inspired by a similar moment in the sauna scene of the Jv movie OL:LoD (which is imo the funniest scene in the entirety of Jv OL).
(
One More Chance:
Back at the office Kazu calls Haruta to tell him they've decided not to get married because they are just too different, Haruta convinces him to give Haruta one more chance to find their home. This scene does not exist in the Tv.
)
Bar Fight:
In the Jv H goes to the bar/restaurant trying to avoid M, we see no such indication in the Tv. M is already sitting at the bar in both versions though Tv H also sits at the bar with some space between them while Jv H sits at a table instead. Both versions have T&C/ only C trying to figure out what happened between them with both Ms saying nothing happend and both Hs complaining about Ms behaviour towards the boss (with Jv H also complaining about M saying bad things about H). Slight difference with Tv Mo saying and Heng believing that he tried to help H, just doesn't agree on the method, while Jv H believes this to be just another joke. Both Ms tell H they do really like him, it wasn't a joke, though Tv M does so significantly more calmly. Both versions have H alledging M had hidden intentions moving in with him, feeling betrayed and being pretty mean to M. Both Ms put some money on the counter and leave, though Tv M already tells H here that he'll move out. Both Cs smack H and scold him for his allegations when he was the one to invite M to live with him in order to pawn off his chores on him. (Jv H had already gotten his beer before the fight, Tv H doesn't get any)
Heng Home Alone:
Both Hs come home to an empty house and find food in the fridge. For the Jv this was the, in the first scene mentioned, dinner H was supposed to heat up, in the Tv no further explanation is given. Both Hs remember C's words and feel bad. Jv H actually eats the food, Tv H just looks at it sadly. Jv H runs out of the house to look for M, Tv continues the next day.
Clients Resolution:
Tv Heng meets the clients back in the first condo. They have made up because the separation reminded them what is most important to them is being together. They have decided to move forward with the first condo because Kaitong liked that kitchen and they plan on knocking out a wall to make a bigger meeting space for Alone. This brings Heng to a realisation, he thanks them and runs off. In the Jv the case resolution only happens at the end of the episode. Unlike the gays of the Tv the Jv straights need Haruta to help them make up. He brings them to an empty lot, apologises for being unable to find anything that meets both their individual needs and asks what requirements they have for living together. Thus forcing them to communicate they resolve their fight. The function of the clients has shifted somewhat between the adaptations. Both are clearly supposed to mirror H and M's conflict but while the Jv has H learn from his personal life to better help his clients, Tv Heng learns from the clients to better understand his own feelings and reltionship with Mo.
Searching for Mo:
In the Jv this happens in the evening still, in the Tv the next day after meeting the clients. Jv H runs around the city looking for Maki, briefly shouting in the park about the unfairness of not having a young woman with big boobs fall for him. Tv H looks for Mo at the office where Meow tells him he took the afternoon off. Heng realises he did so to move out and goes home as well. This is where Tv Meow puts two and two together to realise Mo was talking about Heng.
Apology & Goodbye:
Tv Heng arrives at home where we've briefly seen Mo pack. He stops Mo, apologises, tells him he likes living with Mo and asks him to stay, as friends. In the Jv H finds M outside also apologises, Maki says here that he'll leave, H tells him he needs him and asks him to stay and go back to being friends like before. Maki kisses him on the forehead instead and tells him they can't go back. In the Tv M also moves in close as if to kiss H but when Heng tenses up flicks him in the forehead and also tells him he can't be Heng's friend anymore. Both Ms leave. We saw a forehead kiss in the trailer for the Tv so it will probably happen at some other time.
(
Choko Finds Haruta:
In the Jv we get a brief scene of Choko looking through all of the employees on her computer and singling out Haruta.
The Empty Lot:
This is where the aforementioned resolution for the Jv clients happens.
Set-up Next Storyline Choko + Haruta:
At the end of the ep we see Choko walk into the office and finding H, asking him if he's Haruta. (It's filmed in a way to make the viewer think she figured out Haruta is "Haruka", leaving that as the cliffhanger.) The storyline set up here won't happen in ep 3 Tv yet, but judging by the trailer will eventually, with the daughter taking Choko's place.
)
Set-up Next Storyline Outing:
At the office the next day Heng tries to talk to Mo but Mo only gives him back his key and tells him they should only talk about work in the office. Ten calls everyone to the meeting room where boss announces a company outing prompting Heng to ask to sleep with Mo because he thinks by doing so fate will bring them back together. There's also a flash forward to some moments from the outing next episode. I suspect there will be mostly original material next episode as there was no outing in the Jv.
General thoughts:
the Tv is still a little more subdued compared to the Jv, all characters generally behave a little (to a lot) more calmly
we continue the trend of involving Mo more in the story, though this time the boss didn't get any cuts to facillitate it
the Tv continues to use H's vo inner monologue very sparingly compared to the Jv
Tv, due to its production circumstances, has the additional source for comedy in making references to other EM series/ irl EM lore as we saw this episode most notably in the MLC references
Jv Haruta tried to avoid Maki as much as the other way around while Tv Heng spent basically the entire episod trying to get Mo to talk to him
the Jv brings up the idea of two very different people managing to live together explicitly several times, the Tv does not focus on it as much
in general the Jv seems more interested in details and philosophy regarding the real-estate setting of the story at this point, while the Tv so far seems less interested in the details of real-estate focusing more on the characters/relationships
biggest story changes this week: - the clients, both in present and past - the continued absence of Choko - Meow and Thua meeting already
in general it seems the Tv tried to cut the more homophobic moments from H as much as possible, probably because 6 years have passed and the "homophobic guy falls in love with a man" is now a somewhat outdated trope in the (Thai) BL space
some, especially tonal and stylistic, but probably also story-related changes in the Tv are possibly due to it being produced in a BL context (established BL actors, studio, director etc.) whereas the Jv originally got created somewhat removed from established BL spaces/personnell/conventions as far as I know
#ossan's love thailand#ossan's love th#ossan's love#personal opinion:#so far i find myself laughing at the jv a little more but (especially the more i analyse differences) liking the tv more#i still enjoy the jv a lot but with the comparison to the tv the more grating aspects have started to bother me more about the jv#overall the second episode has still stuck relatively closely to the jv but changes are becoming more prominent#next week will probably have little to do with ep 3 of the jv#which i will instead probably compare to whichever ep handles this story in the tv#if there are any references/scenes/storylines/... to/from the jv next episode i'll still do a round up tho probably shorter#and not in this format as i won't be able to do a scene for scene comparison

I wanna start sharing pieces of events that occurred in my departure (so dramatic), but I'll start with positive things because lately I've been ranting a lot. During Summer break, I had finally met with a specialized doctor for my migraines (last time I'd been diagnosed or checked for them was in 9th grade lol), and he made me get a CT scan and way too many examinations. Turns out I do actually have chronical migraines (lol), but the reason they were getting worse and more frequent and close was because I had a sinus problem. A severely deviated septum was causing imbalance and sinus infections which are like the main trigger for my migraines. So I finally had surgery (A septoplasty, the doctor told me that many people also choose to have a rhinoplasty at the same time but I refused lol). So I had surgery in September, and it was my first time at a hospital. My mother got the worst (best) video of me under anesthesia 😭 My nose was huge for weeks but guess what now? My migraines are still there of course but not as frequent as before. I get like 2 a month and I have no problem breathing at all and I don't get sinus headaches anymore and I have never felt better about my breathing!!!! So that's a huge win!! The first time I got a headache after my surgery was due to lack of sleep, I got so stupidly excited like finally a normal headache with regular pain level? Anyway yeah that's it.
I'm getting blackmailed by my mother with that video she has of me.
Another fun fact? I started learning Arabic like a year and a half ago? I can understand a lot, write, talk but my accent is shit! All because I met a girl at uni who was also learning Arabic and I wanted to practice with her so 🤷♀️
meofkdhcgu OH MY GOD OKAY first of all I am so happy to hear about you getting the right surgery for your migraines!!! JUST FINALLY YAY, i mean it does suck that you have chronical migraines but at least now they won't be chronic AND unbearable, aand you won't have to question the possibilities of what it could be. and mothers do be mothering like that🤣
also i love how in the span of like 2 years or less you just learned arabic?? i mean sure the accents are always hard when the language is not spoken often around you but that is like so so cool. and you did it on a whim like that?? i mean you are even after all of these years one of the coolest people i know and also one of the smartest bc you not only studied it as a side thing but picked it up that fast!!
(i will want arabic book reccs once you get there!!)

Deignited isn't dead, I haven't had much of a chance to work on anything over this year between uni and other priorities. It's also been even longer since I last uploaded an update to ModDB, but rest assured - there's been plenty of progress made since the middle of last year or whenever it was.
Mostly in regards to Spyro 1 enemies. Some of them are like fully done (except for custom eyes) - modelled, vert painted, rigged and all set up in UE and everything, but most are in various stages of the rigging process and/or pretty close to being fully modelled and vert coloured.
I seriously need to get off my arse and dump the dev screenies onto Tumblr (or make more for the stuff that hasn't been documented anywhere).
For now, I'm gonna ramble about a recent development.
Sometimes it can be a bit of a trial to rig a low-poly model to armatures/animations made for a high-poly model, especially when you're not bothering to make extra geometry around the joints to accommodate for deformation out of stubbornness regarding the general lack thereof throughout the OG Spyro models.
Yes, I'm aware of the rampart hypocrisy. Anyone who's played the mod or seen the models knows that I've made plenty of deviations - the muscular-type dragons, for example.
Trondo's got forearm muscles since I cut more geometry into them to connect the spines to his main mesh (Bubba taught me the hard way that disconnecting thing and shit from the arms is a good way to make jank visuals) and provide more of an accurate position to vert paint the bandages - and then there's poor bastards like Gavin who really need an extra loop midway along the forearm(s) to avoid taking a trip through Clip City during their animations.
I don't know if I should try fiddle with his weights before resorting to another loop - and also, whether or not I want to do this with every dragon who doesn't already have additional forearm loops.
Either way, I need to fix Cosmos' rigging.
That being said, I think I'm running into more dilemmas involving twists along limbs more often than the joints themselves. It can be pretty wild if there's only just one loop per joint, e.g. shoulder - elbow - wrist; sometimes it's exacerbated by having only four verts in a loop, sometimes it isn't.
There's usually a way around it if you fiddle around with the tweak bones, like if you balance out an arm by taking some of the shoulder/clavicle's first arm tweak bone influence and dumping it into one or more of the last ones, then vice versa for however much the elbow is weighted to the last arm tweak bones. Can't always change the direction of the tris in a quad, what might work for one position might get completely fucked up in another positon/anim/etc.
Sometimes, the increments in rotation between a limb's tweak bones during certain animations aren't relatively equal, and it can get messier if the weights aren't particularly feathered from loop to loop.
Again, stuff like this always varies - and Toys for Bob, Sanzaru and all the outsource studios who helped with Reignited are all miles more experienced and talented than I am with animation (and 3D in general), so I'm not in much of a position to whinge about it…even if there are times where analysing stuff makes me feel like I'm going to have a stroke.
word of advice do not look at the sleeping dogs' weight painting because holy jesus motherfucking christ
Take the big Carrot-Topped Monks from Dream Weavers during their death animation, for example. The sudden twist between tweak 1 and tweak 2 is doing a number on those polygons, and then up until the elbow it's relatively smooth sailing. With a little figurative and literal elbow grease, you can kinda alleviate how much the faces clip into each other on a lower-poly model!
Untwisting the loops can kinda sacrifice some of their width or general size, especially if shit's fucked from shoulder, elbow to wrist…
I might be able to fix that.
What I might not be able to fix is something regarding the small versions of these guys.
Look, this isn't my first time seeing limbs without gradual tweak bones, but um, I think this might be the first time I've seen an armature have those tweak bones while the model just straight up doesn't have any vertex groups for those bones.
The bones themselves are animated, but since tweak bones are in parenting chains stemming from a main bone and main bones are usually parented to other main bones…they're kinda unable to do anything here.
I've never added custom vert groups to my Deignited models before, so I'm not sure what'd happen if I did for the small Carrot-Topped Monks. Even then, I don't know if the order of the groups is a potential issue either in Blender itself, UE and/or Reignited.
Or if it'd just fuck up the animations in general.
Unfortunately there's only one way to find out - and that is trial and error.
I'd probably rather deal with this than fun eyelids. Looking at you, most of the fodder in Year of the Dragon…

hellooo deviating from the usual a little bit here, sorry, but would it be okay w you to share a little about your academic career and yk all that because im applying for a STEM degree too so any insight would be really cool!! thank youuuu <3
Hi anon! Sure thing! I'm a little flattered honestly.
I'm currently working towards my PhD in physics (hence my obsession with data haha) so I can really only give advice in that field. In terms of my journey, in school I pretty gifted academically, 99th percentile and all that bullshit and it came to applying for unis/degrees and I had an option between doing a History & English or a physics degree. In school I definitely enjoyed the humanities more, but I've never regretted my decision to go with STEM, physics especially, because it teaches you a certain way to think. In my undergraduate degree I was trained to look at a situation, evaluate the context of it, try and collect data that is unbiased as possible, and draw conclusions, and that's a set of invaluable transferable skills that can be applied to a multitude of fields.
To someone who's just starting out in STEM now my advice would be: network, network, network. My partner and I are both doing PhDs that we got not through applying but through networking. Everyone is as smart as everyone else in STEM. Everyone was an honours kid, everyone did the "smart people" extracurriculars, so STEM, especially academia, runs on who you know. Networking these days can be as simple as asking someone slightly senior than you to grab coffee, as agreeing to go bouldering (for example) with a group of people in the same field as you. Be confident in your skills and abilities, (but beware that arrogance won't get you very far in the being liked game, especially if you're anything other than a white cis man). Don't let your studies get in the way of you being an interesting person! For example, I met a colleague from another university a couple of weeks ago and she and I bantered over our F1 teams, with her defending McLaren and me ride or die-ing for Ferrari, and I've since been roped into her mailing list and am collaborating with her on a grant application, things I'm SURE would not have happened if F1 wasn't an interesting hobby of mine that I can and will take every chance to yap about.
As a final aside, don't let yourself get too discouraged. STEM is NOT for the faint of heart and definitely not the place to go if you want to keep feeling smart. The first two years of any STEM degree are designed to break people in a specific way so that they let go of their ego, yes it is part of the process and YES everyone is struggling just as much as you (that's actually want they want you to figure out!), so that then they can enter the world of research with as little ego as possible (this works to varying degrees of success). But honestly, STEM is so rewarding. To have this really in depth knowledge of how part of our world works is fascinating. Your friends who work in non-STEM fields will understand absolutely none of it, and you'll get to a point where even the effort of trying to explain it to other fields of STEM is too monumental (for example, I understand enough about basic aero in order to get to grips with F1 cars, but a friend of mine is doing aero research and he spent about ten minutes the other month trying to explain push/pull bars in F1 cars to a group of PhD students comprising of: theoretical physicist, astrophysicist, plasma physicist, a quantum physicist, and mechanical engineer before the poor guy almost gave up and had a nervous breakdown because none of us were getting it). I think part of the beauty of STEM is realising how little you know, and how much of it there is for us to still work out.
You got this! You're at the beginning of a beautiful journey and I KNOW it'll turn out brilliant <3.
#Maybe one day I'll use my real life experience and write Lestappen as PhD students AU that's been lurking at the back of my head for ages#maybe#charles is So Meticulous in his technical stuff i think he would work in something more applied#i think max would be a mathematical physicist they just all have that vibe#(highly skilled loser)#anywhoo i digress#asks#anon#personal

Got Sloppy
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;” Psalm 1:1ESV
Wow! How did our nation ever become so wicked? I learned more about corruption in our government than I ever wanted to know during the past four years. The more I prayed for God to expose corruption and darkness, the more darkness was unveiled. Greed, sexual deviates, murder and mutilation of children, racial hatred, the list goes on and on.
Our origins were groups of people searching for a place to worship the Lord without being hindered in any way. Covenants were made by those worshippers, even by President Washington dedicating the US to serving the Lord.
How did we get so far off? I believe our nation got spiritually sloppy without realizing it. Lying to ourselves about the danger, we began walking with the devil. It was the easier way to go.
Our text describes the pathway to sin. First, we’re instructed to avoid walking alongside the sinners. Amos 3:3KJV “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” While I was working, it was easy to pick up the language of co-workers; laugh at their jokes; gossip about someone absent. Not just taking their traits, it became easier to not be faithful in prayer.
Secondly, we’re instructed to not take advice from sinners. No matter how well intentioned a person may be, the sinner will never be able to advise in God’s way. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6NIV. “To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are His.” Job 12:13NIV. This counsel is only found in studying God’s Word and prayer.
Third, while walking with sinners, it’s easy to stop and converse with them, start studying what they’re doing. Standing with sinners desensitizes us to the wickedness of their surroundings, no matter how innocent it appears at first. “Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?” 2Corinthians 6:14ESV.
Lastly, from the natural progression of walking, counseling, and standing with sinners— so is sitting with them. The older I’ve become, the easier I’ve found it is to sit down in any available chair. When I’m excessively tired, I go beyond sitting and doze off in that chair.
This same sort of sleepiness is exactly what happened to our well-intentioned national ancestors. They fell asleep in the lap of evil people. Trust was placed in the evil-doers without prayer for discernment and wisdom to avoid pitfalls— they got sloppy. Now, we have a totally corrupt government. We are groggily awake but are we smarter than those ancestors?
We’ve found that exactly like no one is lured off the road of salvation to wantonly have an adulterous affair or obtain an abortion, we weren’t aware of the bigger sins following behind the tiny choice of walking. Always, the beginning starts with something very naive, seemingly harmless.
Just as our nation started off with good intentions, their focus became skewed. Our only salvation for this nation will be praying. Constant and consistent praying for Trump, the Cabinet and Advisors he selects: the Congress and Senate. That uni-party of corruption must be broken apart. We must pray using our authority as believers, children of God. Will we travel the corruption road of our predecessors? Or, will you avoid walking with the wicked because your prayers are a wall about us? It’s your choice. You choose.
LET’S PRAY: Lord God, we pray for forgiveness for our passivity, and lack of prayer. Deliver us from darkness— the wicked paths— and help us to overcome the tiredness of the fight. Keep us faithful in prayer, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

TASK 001: INTRODUCTION
Leo, AEST, & HE/HIM I am a trans man who lives in Australia! I work 5 hour shifts every weekday and am an almost-fulltime student at uni. I study criminology, sociology & international relations and love to incorporate these things in my writing!
Fabian Arias Introducing Fabian, security at X Academy. He comes across serious, sometimes brash and sometimes subservient depending on who you are to him, but he's not one to crack a smile often. He's lost, and at 36 is still learning who he is and what he's living for.
pinterest . playlist . tags pin board and playlist are wip!
[ miguel gomez, cis-man, he/him ] Look who just landed! FABIAN ARIAS, I sure hope you packed all you need. Perhaps you’re not worried as SECURITY of X ACADEMY. The city has plenty of spots for a 36 year old CYBORG like you. You’ll be known in the city soon enough as THE FOLLOWER, being COMMITTED and INDIFFERENT. ( leo, 25, AEST, removed for discretion )
Full Name: Fabian Arias

tw: war and war crimes, violence, trauma
fabian is the younger son from a very rich currently unnamed family. he was raised in privilege, which he was utterly blind to, instead resentful and furious at the constant reminders that he was second to, lesser than his older brother, who was set to inherit all wealth.
born in a city which became war-torn when he was a young man, he was drafted into the military where he managed to make something of himself. allowing all cybernetic enhancements recommended to him by his family or his superiors, he immediately stands out with led eyes, a steel jaw and several enhanced (or utterly replaced) limbs. he suffered in the war, in ways he still has not fully come to terms with. but it ended with the destruction of the entire city, at which point he and his family became refugees.
luckily for him, it's very easy to be a rich refugee. they found their way to new jakarta all together, a city which had been uninvolved in the conflict, and his family settled in sora. but adapting to a world of peace, returning to his role as second-best, everything was suddenly wrong. his ptsd diagnosis was treated with bandaids and a glossy finish, and fabian had to fight to understand his own changing needs and identity.
he deviated from his family's control, slowly at first. they didn't need to know that he was getting involved with them; some gangs, some just criminals, some vagrants. it was a world where he felt more real, more like a person. eventually, he met someone (wanted connection) for whom he was willing to lose everything. he spent up all the power he had to his name to help them, and after doing so, his family won't look at him the same way.
he changed his name, not out of an attempt to disown them but out of a desire not to shame them. after everything, there's still that little boy within, craving his family's approval and acceptance. he moved out, took on a job at x academy, and months blended into years. this was the new normal.
he still talks to his family, but sparingly. his purpose is that person who he helped, though he sees himself as little more than a hanger-on in their life.

Felt like droning on about Squalo and xanxus so here’s the prior brainrot but I have to fill in the gaps
(Each explanation is for the photo below it not above.)
But first the start

This is about how I think xanxus views his second in command in a way. I doubt he thinks anyone is better than him but I bet he does think they were naturally afforded his opportunities and that’s fckn annoying.

Possibility of Xanxus getting (or feeling like he does) a different kind of respect from his peers. Also it’s about his perception of things not reality. But in a fun world this is the reality bc the mafia in khr is so hypocritical to me. They’re so black and white in this ridiculous way. Especially when it comes to them trying to be seen as good dmkdkdjd like yeah the dude that hired Dino to kill gokudera if he betrayed Tsuna is so good and keeping balance in the world psjdsjndnd. Also I was deep in brainrot about the state of the mafia beyond the Vongola and how peers might see them and interact with them. Unlike the boys everyone else was raised in the mafia world and that is their general world view and I’m interested in the perspective of a mafiosi that gets up and reads the gossip about other families instead of news a commoner would read. How would they view the Vongola drama from the standpoint of their norm vs what feels correct
Also I could not find the message but the last bit abt the just wanting the top spot I said something along the lines of : he is content with the name that the family has for itself, and even though he believes he’s great, and worthy and capable of leading a family like that, and absolutely should be the one in charge of that he would never go on and create it himself. He doesn’t care that way to make a family. He cares about being in charge of something that matters not making something that matters if that makes sense. He’s kind of the opposite of Byakuran in that sense. Byakuran went and built things utilizing uni and her family when he likely could have just taken over one somehow. but he likes a game and needed it made by him for him.

To me Squalo , like gokudera and Dino were raised in mafia society and probably retain a lot of their traditional values and practices. So the way xanxus and Tsuna sort of enter in to this and want things their way or question intentions and the way things are could never be him. He probably even follows and respects xanxus because of those values albeit with a little deviation, “Xanxus deserves this title because it’s what’s right” sort of way.
I liked this possibility of silent internal conflict because it’s about more than Xanxus being obnoxious but respected by him. It’s not even about whether they can stand each other or not , the dislike poses a much bigger question that’s easily hid in mere disscontempt. I like it because it offers some sort of questioning and resentment, he would never step out of line with the mafia that’s not who he is. But feeling like they are doing something he does not fully agree with and questions some aspect of is such an interesting arc to me for those kinds of characters. Maybe he likes xanxus for his drive and the fact that he should be the successor but resents him for sitting on this title kind of in his way of what was meant for him.

#khr#spriterot#xanxus#khr meta#Squalo#basically using these two to discover what the mafia is like#from the perspective of someone immersed in that world.#I need to organize these I know I made some more notes later down the line

Hello! I don't know if this is strange to ask but I feel safe asking you, (if this is invasive don't worry about answering at all)
How did you get into biology? was it always your dream? was the courses and school worth it? did you do very well biology and math wise in highschool? how often do you use math in your field?
- Someone considering the biologist field
Hi there anon!
I'm so sorry this is so late - I've had a busy month both due to my personal life, fandom and academics. I'll try my best to answer, and I'm really flattered you asked me ;;
Now, full disclaimer: I'm working on my Master's thesis. I currently intend on pursuing a PhD and remaining in academia, but who knows what will happen. Maybe I get the offer of a lifetime and work as the behaviorist for a zoo! Or maybe I find happiness in a workplace only tangentially associated with biology. So there are a lot of unknowns I can't answer. But I can answer what you've got so far!
Getting into biology was not too different, at least initially, from most STEM: it meant a lot of chemistry, and physics, and high-level math. Come CEGEP and then Uni (French-Canadian education system, eh?), I continued to be funneled down the STEM pipeline, at least initially, which meant competition was very intense with pre-med, neuroscience and the likes. By my second year of uni (third for most), though, I was able to start taking the really BIO-oriented classes, and from there started scouting out profs whose class and research focuses I enjoyed for a potential research project. Doing a research project in your last year (or sooner! I was just set back by COVID) is an incredible foot in the door; it showed me what science is like in the day-to-day, introduced me to many seminars to Zoom in on and which publications to watch, and of course was a massive networking boon by getting to be in touch with the head of my lab + grad students directly. It's also a good test run as to if this is for you. From there, it's reaching out to potential labs (before grant deadlines! Start looking NOW if you're graduating this academic year!). Look at the PI's recent publications, their lab's website, what direction they are taking their research into, where you're willing to go / how far you're willing to deviate from your goal research. Have a project or two in mind. In my case I talked to two labs - one initially did not have space and referred me to others in their field I might like, and one of their suggestions I talked to had too many students to take me on. Lo and behold, my OG first pick ended up having a spot - an interview later, plus some meetings with the current grads so I could ask what the lab was like, and I'm writing this instead of making sure my data is tidy before sending it to my PI :P
TBH, it was a lifelong interest with the critters around me. I grew up in rural Quebec and so had a lot of opportunities to go outside and Find Things. My brother and I would trudge out to the pond to catch frogs and minnows and - if we were super lucky! - garter snakes or snapping turtles. But it was also the weird emerald green bugs that'd bite us, or watching wasps build a nest, and seeing how waterstriders dance. Our parents fostered a lot of that interest; my dad always encouraged us to always put animals back where we found them, to not hurt plants, to be mindful of the living space. And I do appreciate my mom swallowing her disgust at the nth Animal Planet documentary with animals dying graphically pft. Steve Irwin was an idol to kid me, though now I'd quibble with how he would interact with wild animals and stress them out, I cannot understate how many people my age he got to really get fascinated by so many creatures. I'd credit my interest in dinosaurs for a lot of this too, because wow, the world has selected for some mighty cool animals over time! How did they interact? What could select for traits that extreme? Or, inversely, what makes them stick around?
Sidebar, but a moment that sticks out to me is when my brother and I stumbled on a host of the local garter snakes leaving a brumation hide (and probably a mating ball). We caught twelve of them, including regulars we recognized. It's what got me thinking about snake behavior, about their social lives, about if they remember who they spent a good third of the year with in a tiny cramped crevice by the stream.
See, the courses initially sucked: either because I was taking chem and physics prerequisites instead of getting to do dissections and look under a microscope, or because I was in a high-stress environment decided to try and weed out potential doctors and neuroscientists and pharmacists while I just wanted to study animal behavior (and neurobiology). So those first years were really hard - but finding joy to appreciate what I was learning here and there definitely helped a lot, and I appreciate the work ethic I developed as well. Once I got into the more specialized courses things really relaxed - still a lot of learning and refining my skills, but there was less of a selection pressure on students and the professors had smaller, more interested classes, so it all went far better. I remember those ones fondly <3
I did very well in math - I didn't get any biology classes in secondary school (again, STEM prerequisites), but I can tell you that chemistry kicked my ass and physics would sometimes throw me curveballs. And the only class I've ever failed was Calculus 2 in CEGEP :p
I work specifically with animal behavior research - so it's less about math and more understanding the biology and behavior of my animals and making sure I remain consistent with experiments, accounting for as many potential factors as possible. However, math does come up. Sometimes you're TAing for a course and need to dose rats with caffeine; sometimes you're making snake oil at a specific concentration; sometimes you're preparing solutions for a perfusion. However, at least in my area, it's mostly low-level math - and in the lab I did my undergrad research in, I can confirm it took myself and two grad students to figure out some pretty simple equations together, but we got through it XD Outside of the lab context, you will be using a lot of stats to back up your findings - so brush up on those, and be ready to ask for help if needed. OFC more technically finite research than 'put snake in arena see what it do' will require more math than me, but being a bit weaker at it isn't a career-ender. Just be ready to ask labmates for help and be ready to learn.
HOWEVER, I will note that one thing that really helped me get my foot in the door was coding. Take a coding class or two - the field is leaning heavily towards automating what it can and/or using automated learning algorithms to back up findings ('look, even a machine can detect these differences and classify X Y Z based on them with high accuracy!'). At least a basic grasp of a couple coding languages is essential going forward, and from what I can tell most labs are really expecting this from their grad students.
Hopefully you see this, and hopefully it's of some help in deciding what path you want to take! Or maybe it'll help someone else - regardless, wishing you the best! <3

GMP Training: Building a Foundation for Quality and Compliance
Introduction
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are a set of guidelines that ensure products in regulated industries, such as pharmaceuticals, food, and cosmetics, are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standards. Central to the successful implementation of GMP is comprehensive training for employees, which equips them with the knowledge and skills to maintain compliance and uphold product safety. GMP training is not just a regulatory requirement but a critical investment in operational excellence, consumer trust, and business sustainability. As industries face increasing scrutiny from regulators and consumers, effective GMP training programs are essential for fostering a culture of quality. This article explores GMP training through four key subtopics: its purpose and importance, core components, delivery methods, and benefits for organizations, providing a detailed understanding of its role in regulated industries.
Purpose and Importance of GMP Training
The primary purpose of GMP training is to ensure that employees understand and adhere to GMP guidelines, which are established by regulatory bodies like the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the European Medicines Agency (EMA), and the World Health Organization (WHO). These guidelines cover all aspects of production, from raw material handling to equipment maintenance and documentation, to prevent contamination, errors, and safety risks.
GMP training is crucial for several reasons. First, it ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, helping organizations avoid costly penalties, product recalls, or license suspensions. Second, it protects consumers by ensuring products are safe, effective, and of high quality. Third, it fosters a culture of accountability, where employees at all levels understand their role in maintaining standards. Without proper training, even well-designed GMP systems can fail due to human error or lack of awareness.
The importance of GMP training extends beyond compliance. It aligns organizations with global standards, enabling them to compete in international markets where GMP certification is often a prerequisite. Regular training also keeps employees updated on evolving regulations, technologies, and best practices, ensuring long-term operational success.
Core Components of GMP Training
Effective gmp training programs cover a range of topics tailored to the industry and specific roles within an organization. While content varies, the core components typically include:
GMP Principles and Regulations: Employees learn the fundamentals of GMP, including relevant regulations (e.g., FDA’s 21 CFR Part 211 for pharmaceuticals or WHO GMP guidelines). This includes understanding quality assurance, risk management, and regulatory expectations.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Training emphasizes the importance of following SOPs for processes like cleaning, testing, and documentation. Employees learn how to execute and document tasks consistently to ensure traceability.
Hygiene and Contamination Control: This covers personal hygiene, cleanroom protocols, and measures to prevent cross-contamination, particularly critical in pharmaceuticals and food production.
Documentation and Record-Keeping: Known as the “backbone” of GMP, proper documentation ensures compliance and traceability. Training teaches employees how to maintain accurate records, handle deviations, and prepare for audits.
Additional topics may include equipment maintenance, change control, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Training is often customized to address specific risks, such as microbial contamination in food production or sterile manufacturing in pharmaceuticals. Role-specific modules ensure that operators, quality assurance staff, and management receive relevant instruction.
Delivery Methods for GMP Training
GMP training can be delivered through various methods, each offering unique advantages depending on the organization’s needs, size, and resources. Common delivery methods include:
In-Person Training: Conducted by internal experts or external consultants, in-person sessions allow for hands-on demonstrations, interactive discussions, and immediate feedback. This is ideal for complex processes or cleanroom training.
Online Training: E-learning platforms provide flexible, self-paced courses, often with quizzes and multimedia content. Online training is cost-effective and suitable for large or geographically dispersed teams, with platforms tracking completion and performance.
On-the-Job Training: Practical training occurs in the workplace, where employees apply GMP principles under supervision. This reinforces theoretical knowledge and builds confidence in real-world settings.
Blended Learning: Combining online modules with in-person or on-the-job sessions, blended learning offers flexibility while ensuring practical application. This approach is increasingly popular for balancing cost and effectiveness.
Training frequency varies, with initial onboarding sessions followed by annual refreshers or updates based on regulatory changes or audit findings. Organizations must also maintain records of training completion to demonstrate compliance during inspections. Choosing the right delivery method depends on factors like workforce size, regulatory requirements, and operational complexity.
Benefits of GMP Training
Investing in GMP training yields significant benefits for organizations, employees, and consumers. Key advantages include:
Regulatory Compliance: Well-trained employees reduce the risk of non-compliance, ensuring successful audits and adherence to regulations, which protects the organization from fines or shutdowns.
Improved Product Quality: Training minimizes errors, contamination, and defects, leading to consistent, high-quality products that meet customer and regulatory expectations.
Enhanced Employee Performance: GMP training empowers employees with clear guidelines and confidence, improving productivity and fostering a sense of responsibility for quality.
Market Competitiveness: GMP-trained organizations are better positioned to secure contracts with major clients, enter global markets, and build a reputation for reliability and safety.
Additionally, training reduces the likelihood of costly recalls or legal issues, saving resources in the long term. It also enhances employee morale by demonstrating the organization’s commitment to professional development and safety. For consumers, the ultimate benefit is access to safe, reliable products, reinforcing trust in the brand.
Conclusion
GMP training is a vital pillar of quality assurance in regulated industries, ensuring that organizations meet stringent standards while delivering safe, high-quality products. By equipping employees with the knowledge and skills to implement GMP principles, training fosters compliance, operational efficiency, and consumer trust. From understanding core regulations to mastering SOPs and contamination control, GMP training prepares workforces to navigate the complexities of modern manufacturing. With flexible delivery methods like online, in-person, and on-the-job training, organizations can tailor programs to their needs, reaping benefits like improved performance, market access, and regulatory success. As global demand for safe and reliable products grows, GMP training remains an essential investment for organizations committed to excellence and sustainability in the pharmaceutical, food, and cosmetic industries.
