Maria's New Outfit

"It's almost June. Might as well try some new clothes for the summer."

I've really been liking the drawing I did last year of Maria wearing the BIG PANT + Bikini that I wanted to explore this outfit on her again. In this case, I went with a crop top instead of a bikini, as I felt the option to be a bit more moderate in tone. I don't know I'm going to make it a permanent change to her. But possibly an alternate outfit for certain occasions. It's certainly not something I'd say is suited for winter weather.

Let me just say that trying to draw interlocking fingers is not fun. XD

I know several other people have redrawn that one official cloudtail & brightheart art but i wanted to take a crack at it. Hire me harpercollins.

Before Jason makes his debut as Red Hood, he goes apartment hunting.

And the thing about Gotham is, all of the apartments that would make for good safe houses, are safe houses. The Bat’s safe houses. If Jason wants to set up shop, he’s got to get creative. This means being willing to look the other way about some things. Namely, living with other people.

Jason gets a roommate.

Sure, he’d found a couple of spots that fit some of the criteria he used for making safe houses, but not all apartments were equal. And having a semi-functioning civilian cover was useful. Sometimes.

All this to say that Jason responded to a craigslist post of some guy looking for a roommate. The post was written well enough, decent grammar and a fair enough price. Unlike some of the places he’d “toured.”

He has to trudge up a few flights of stairs to get to the place, because roof access is always high on the priority list, and knocks on the door. He waits a few minutes, hears someone check the peephole, and then the sound of at least five separate locks being undone.

With the door finally open, he gets a good look at the guy’s face. Too good of a look, actually.

Because the man who opens it is Dick Grayson.

When We Were Young

"That's 10 games in a row now, Milo! How the heck are you so good at this already?! My mom just bought us this game yesterday!" Collin yelled as "P1 Wins" flashed across the screen.

Milo chuckled for a moment. He replied "I don't know. But kicking your butt at this is a lot of fun." Milo pointed at the pizza box to the right of Collin and asked "Hey, can you hand me a slice of pizza for before we start the next game?"

This is a drawing I've been spending several days on. I've been wanting to put together a drawing that encompasses that feeling of how groups of friends used to meet up to play games back in the 1990s. It's gatherings like this that I have very fond memories of. It's kinda funny to me though, our parents always used to think we were wasting our time doing stuff like this. As it turned out, it was actually somewhat beneficial to our mental health. Nowadays, these kinds of gatherings are taking place less and less frequently, which I find to be a shame.

For this drawing, I essentially tried to put together a typical 80s/90's style basement. The kind with wood paneling, and an old couch. And for some reason, there was always a TV in there that was too far away from the couch to be able to actually sit on it while playing video games. That always kinda hurt my back to sit on the floor for a prolonged period.

In any case, we have Collin LiBee and Milo Waite as children having a bit of a prolonged gaming session of their own. I'm assuming this is on a weekend, cause I'm sure their parents never let them play games like this on a school night. Collin's having a bit of a rough time trying to keep up with with Milo. This is a trait Milo has based on something my brother has the ability to do. Pick up any video game and instantly master it.

And of course, what 90's gaming session would be complete without snacks? So we've got some pizza, a can of generic cola, and a bag of CheeZos? Yeah, I was just trying to avoid copyright infringement on that one, but decided I'd have some fun trying to recreate the look of an old bag of corn chips.

Oh, and as for who's house this is? Its Collin's parent's house.
