Basically this is just a scene I drew out for my SCP fanfic, which I was planning to include inside the fic itself, but unfortunately Ao3 kept insisting that it's too big and therefore couldn't be included. I was bummed out and just forgot to share it. So here it is now!

i'm not saying they should have done this but there could've been something there in a veilguard that didn't refuse to engage with the past/present of the elves (and arlathan and tevinter in particular!) where bellara's engagement with the veilguard is a story of alienation.

how would it feel to be enlisted by rook to save minrathous, knowing that this beautiful, awful city was built on the labour and blood of millions of your people, given unwillingly? how would it feel to know there will be no recognition of what you've done for them in the end? that whatever you do, the instability in arlathan (which you've left everyone else to deal with, to help these strangers) will mean more death for your people? that shemlen will try to profit from this weakness anyway?

you've learned that elvhenan was not quite what you thought and the creators aren't exactly what you believed them to be. but how can you know that the dread wolf, the great betrayer of your gods and your people isn't misleading you either? there is something wrong with rook. there has been from the start, but no one will talk about it. no one but davrin even seems to understand your concerns that they expect you all to take the dread wolf at his word because they made the mistake of trusting him.

of course, it's easy for them to believe your gods were nothing but tyrants and monsters. it only means their hands are clean.

i don't have a rationale yet but i definitely think the line of harker was cut off earlier than we are being led to believe

plus who is Dracula saying "Harkerrr I can taste youuu" to on episode 1, his very first lines, like he tells van Helsing he can taste him and smell him on ep 3-4. since not to Jeremy, was J3 even in the westenra building, because the only other person there was Maddie. the plot thickens.

I hadn't spotted that! the opening scenes between the trailer and episode one are a bit different, the full episode cuts to the theme music when maddie goes off to get jeremy but the trailer lets the scene continue until she brings him back, they hear the containment breach alarm, and dracula specifically says "harker I can taste you," and I hadn't actually listened to the trailer before. my god does the sequence of events in the first ep make more sense now lol.

now, hmm. arthur seems like a decent enough bloke, but I am getting a leetol suspicious of him, and he's the one who suggested maddie switch careers from history teacher to vampire archivist. hmmm.

Hmm. You know what. Let's go vague but relevant to the Deep Lore. This will come up eventually (and it mostly already did in Demon Tales) but I am impatient lol, but it doesn't spoil things without further context. Anyway.

There are four primordials—the first gods, and arguably the only "true" gods—even though no god is every truly immortal. They have many titles but they can be defined as thus:

—the god of the rising sun —the god of the setting sun —the god of the waning moon —the god of the waxing moon

Two of the ogs are still alive—in that they are completely conscious and mentally intact, at least. Two and a half if you're generous. The power of all four still exists.

As far as the gun thing goes many people are failing to realize that in interpersonal situations the main effect a gun has is its social weight (threat). If you own a gun to "defend" your suburban home it is essentially carrying the weight of convincing you you are safe, vs in a direct interaction with an agressor it is giving you the ability to assert dominance. The black panthers didn't scare police off by shooting shit, they just had to stand in a well organized group holding rifles. The hypothetical police officer you're standing off with will act based on the fact that they are now on equal standing with you, not because of your Magical Gun Priveleges.
