loving when ppl write toshinori (all might) as smart. like the golden retriever personality is his, but works scarily like present mics DJ persona- we've seen toshi get serious, we've seen him break down,, and we know he'd put his life on the line for his kids- yet he still manages to put on his signature smile. He's been a hero for a little around 35 years,, he obviously knows how things are run. He knows police procedures off the back of his hand, he knows how to learn everything there is about a person in 30 seconds flat, he knows the tells of a disaster in progress, he has the hero mindset to a Tee. If the dorky personality helps villains not notice the cogs turning in his eyes, it's just a slight perk.

Edit: upon seeing the reblog by @rurounivash I've realised that yeah lowk he goofs out on some things, sometimes he does just airhead his way through the day because damn, you can't expect the man to be vigilant 24\7 BUT, he does apply his godforsaken iq to learning how to do other things, i.e, teaching his kids

Do we think Satine knows that Dooku used to be a Jedi and specifically Qui-Gon’s master?? Cause it could have surely been mentioned during the year on the run but also I doubt it was, especially if Dooku hadn’t left the order/ turned to the dark at the time. So I imagine tcw-era Obi-Wan randomly mentioning that battling Dooku isn’t the same as fighting other Siths because Dooku knows the exact ways that the Jedi fight because he used to be one himself, and Satine is shocked cause WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE LEADER OF THE SEPARATISTS AND LITERAL SITH USED TO BE A JEDI?? And Obi-Wan is like oh, you didn’t know? Yes he was also Qui-Gon’s master… and Master Yoda’s padawan…

So i remember an ask mentioning your mortal enemy, Felis Atra and their cats, and i thought it'd be fun to draw what Felis Atra's version of your italian dogs would be.

I think they would be called Butter Knife and Flamengo! Butter Knife is not his real name, it's an nickname given by his peers because of how harmless he is. I choose Flamengo because that's the name of Vasco's rival football team here in Brazil, so i thought that was the perfect name :)

Cat Machete was slightly inspired by the Oriental Shorthair cat because of their long noses and thin head shape.

Cat Vasco was inspired by the Scottish Fold cat, because FLOPPY EARS. I gave Flamengo longer ears and orange fur to make him more like his look-alike.

The last doodle is a reference to this ask (https://canisalbus.tumblr.com/post/728923918314946560/me-i-am-machete-ear-fan-number-1-those-ears) and contains the tumblr ask stand-in dog, whose cat version was inspired by the American Curl cat! They have round ears that are slightly floppy outwards.

Final notes: I know cardinal clothes don't come in vibrant blue, but i was ADAMANT on switching Machete's and Vasco's clothing color patterns. I would draw the rest of Butter Knife's and Flamengo's clothes, but i suck at designing cool outfits.

Speaking of outfits, for Machete's iconic void outfit, i figured it would be fun to make it more baggy for Butter Knife, in contrast to Machete's, that looks very tight-fitted. I think it's cute, it kinda looks like a sweater. Also i can't imagine a Machete doppelganger without high heels boots, so those HAD to stay.

Oh, and just to be clear, i'm not like, claiming ownership of these guys or anything. I just thought it would be a fun exercise. Hope you like them!! I love your art and your characters.

I didn’t mean for this page to have like, the exact same format as the last one, but it does

I tried to design the kids from that one TFA fanfic I read once because they come into my brain every now and then. I feel like I’m undermining the fic by saying that. It’s part of a collection, called Blessings in Disguise by Quiet_Shadow on Ao3 (idk if they have a tumblr), where basically post Archa 7 and being kicked out of the Academy, Optimus finds out he’s sparked, and later has twins who were sired by both Elita and Sentinel, one for each, and he’s basically raising them with his space bridge crew, since Elita’s supposedly dead and Sentinel keeps ignoring Optimus’ repeated attempts to contact him. The kids are named Ariel and Dion, in reference to the War Dawn characters, and I think are also supposed to somewhat resemble them

I felt I should give a summary for anyone who doesn’t have yesterday’s context. The fics are both relatively short and the second one remains unfinished, but I liked it well enough

But yeah, as alluded to yesterday, I’ve been debating whether or not to draw the kids, and after yesterday I decided “screw it, why not”

As it turns out, the first fic actually did have descriptions for each of the kids, so I had more to work with, which honestly I probably needed

I don’t know how to draw sparklings, so I think I ended up making them look older than they’re supposed to be in the fic. Sorry

And also, while Ariel I think turned out really well, Dion isn’t the best. I actually had to redo him partially because I was trying to give him a Sentinel chin (though far smaller), while also trying to give him a helmet like he was supposed to have (in the fic he has both), but it wasn’t looking right so I changed it to what it is now, which is still kind of wonky. He’s also described as looking a lot like Sentinel, but because I wanted to give him Optimus’ blue skin, among other traits, he ended up resembling Optimus far more than Sentinel

I also gave them both Optimus’ chin thing, initially as coincidence but screw it, shared trait

Ariel was described as pink, so I conceded that she’s pink, but I gave her a more peach tone instead, and overall I quite like her color scheme. Dion too, just not as much

I’m not super sure about the bodies though, particularly the arms. I was drawing that part while bored at work, so it may have affected my creativity. I mean, I guess they’re fine, but I don’t know

But yeah I’m not sure I have more to say, so just know that I did this

Honestly it actually was a lot of fun, at least until the struggle with Dion’s head came into play. I really do need to get around to making my own fankids at some point

And also with this and yesterday, I really do see why people like the TFA style, it’s pretty fun to draw. I need to incorporate it more, but my AU already has another style it’s trying to emulate

*sigh*, if only I had a way to incorporate the TFA style more while also drawing characters and designs separate from the continuity, just borrowing a similar style. I don’t know

okay. so, prefacing this by saying i've been having such a horrible time in life. i've been very very ill lately and the mental health is a classic case of muy mal. i am a real person with real problems that have actual weight and consequence attached to them. cartoons are not one of those problems lmao.

but when i tell you waking up the other day to see multiple dms and various server messages confirming the dark news that i knew in my soul was coming for years (shoutout to my small, tight ass group of su homies we've been in this together for so long and the way we put the pieces together through breadcrumbs always amazes me. we're so smart and jaded lmao)- i really felt like god himself was spitting right into my fucking eyeballs.

i do not want this shit. i have been hoping and praying that this shit was either just a rumor or wouldn't get greenlit for YEARS, even before rs and ijq started dropping hints on twitter. particularly with the state of the industry. and yet, here we are, confirmed as all hell. they've even got an ugly as hell logo. fantastic. waiter? i'll take the sawed off shotgun, please! let me say that one more time since this is my blog on a dying platform on a dying internet on a dying global economic chain and i can be as mean and nasty and putrid and vile as i want: i do not want this shit!!! i don't!!!!!!!! i really hoped if we got any more SU shit, lord forbid, it would focus on more gem lore. the fandom will enter gladiator death matches for a fun sunday brunch activity but the one thing that is as close to a unanimous opinion as we'll ever get is that: we want more gem lore. according to LotS (what a horrible acronym. cannot get over this), we will be getting exactly that. but at what cost lmao.

i will obviously be watching because i hate myself and i LOVE death and dying but i know the way they're going to handle lars and the offbrands is going to grate on my nerves like i'm a well aged hard cheese. and you know. perhaps i am that well aged hard cheese, after all.

putting out little alien antennae to plead for at least a few episodes that don't have them in it at all/at the very least don't center them so i can at least get some more gem history that will also piss me off but in a more satisfying way.

this has been an exercise in making my own post to be a grinch without hijacking some other poor sap's celebratory posts.

Sandy!!! I love him. He is so tall and perfect. His beard is so soft and my new favorite yarn texture. I love his ear fins too. I was so happy I managed to make them symmetrical on the first try, a lot of times I need to make 3 or 4 before I get 2 that match. Also the skulls! I worked so hard to make them small enough to get 9 on there, and it finally worked!

Updated family photo! 4 whole babies!! One more to go! I've never made a horse before, but I've made an elephant so hopefully some of this transfers? I have no idea how to guess the size until he's done, so this could be a wildly disproportionate creature. We will blame that on the dragon-ness
