While I, on the one hand, understand monogamy has been enforced politically throughout history as a means of ensuring lines of inheritance and the dominance of men over women (hence also why polygamy has been permitted insofar as men are allowed to own multiple wives); I also don't think the construct of the so-called monogamous relationship is inherently worthless or harmful. This is certainly not the popular opinion among those with an understanding of monogamy's history, where an understandable advocacy of doing away with monogamy, along with other harmful structures of domestic person-ownership, like the family, is common - but I do think the structure, outside the social system of enforced monogamy, has positive aspects. As a professional diver, I'm well-acquainted with the buddy system: whenever diving, no matter how many are present, divers are paired into buddy-teams, who are each fully responsible for each other. Doing so is the only safe method - in an emergency, a diver's life may rely on another diver noticing they're in distress and reacting within only a few seconds. Having someone whose sole focus is yourself (and someone who is your sole focus) is an incredibly important safety net. Obviously, if an issue occurs with another diver, anyone available comes to their aid, but they are always responsible for their buddy, and vice versa. As a dive leader, I've dived without a buddy before - the idea is that 'everyone in the group is my buddy', but in truth, it's just diving without anyone specifically looking out for you, and it's something you can only do if you're competent enough for it. I was responsible for everyone in my group, and nobody was responsible for me. I can see these general bases for the buddy system applying to broader life in general. Do I think monogamy is for everyone? No, it obviously is not. But, neither do I think it's for nobody.

Having religious beliefs doesn't mean people are homophobes. The Bible says it's a sin, there's no getting around that. It's not natural and LGBT people are always trying to groom children because you can't reproduce. You should check yourself, especially since you claim to be a Mormon. When I was growing up, we didn't hear about all these gay and trans people. You need to repent because surely this is a sign that the last days are here.
Wow, you packed so much ignorance and bigotry in just a few sentences.
You're telling me that an all-knowing, all-powerful God would allow so much variety in nature and in humans, only to be upset at homosexuality? Make it make sense
What's written in the Bible only has the authority that you and society give it, and it doesn't change the fact that some people are gay, lesbian, bi, trans, or whatever else. Most Christians ignore what the Bible says about food, about slavery, about polygamy, about divorce, about being rich, and they can choose to ignore what it says about particular sex acts if they wanted to.
Even if God has the exact opinion of homosexuality that you do, then I would not think of God as my Father but instead as my oppressor. I would need to separate myself from Him and His followers.
How can you say homosexuality isn't natural when it's been observed in over 1500 species of animals? It objectively IS natural. Nature affirms queerness.
The reason you think queer people are conditioning, or in your words, are "grooming" children is because that is what you do, you try to train them to be cis and straight, as if that can be taught. What you're teaching are gender roles which aren't related to biology. Letting boys wear pink, take dance lessons, and play with dolls and kitchen sets isn't going to make them queer. Basic life skills like cooking & child rearing aren't girl things. What you're actually doing is teaching your queer child that it's not safe to talk with their parents about this part of how they experience life.
Yes, I'm a Mormon, but the thing about religious beliefs is they are a choice and subject to individual interpretation. Not all Christians are homophobes because they don't ascribe to the homophobic beliefs that some other Christians believe. I can choose my religious beliefs but I didn't choose to be gay, white, tall, male, or right handed, so I'm not going to deny a key part of my nature just so you feel better about your homophobic beliefs. To disagree with an inherent trait in another human being is nonsensical. It's not logical to be biased against traits that aren't harmful and don't impact others. To do so would be to disagree with how God created them.
Why wouldn't you want society to be less oppressive? Is it because you have a vested interest in seeing a minority group suffer? Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia, antisemitism, xenophobia, and the like, do not live in the same space with decency, empathy, love, and logic.
You miss the days when it was easier to ignore and marginalize queer people? I also lived then. For most of my life I lived under laws that made gay sex illegal and also wouldn't allow me to get married. Opinions and beliefs like yours lead to oppressing people. Unfortunately, a lot of people feel that way and now have positions of power in our society and government. It's a scary time to be a queer person in the United States as transphobia and homophobia are normalized and a push is on to roll back the human rights of queer people. We are just normal humans who deserve the same dignity as others.
This world has had slavery, colonization, epidemics, natural disasters, and genocide. In the United States each year there are multiple school shootings, serial killers, and child abusers. Even with all that, you believe God sees queer people and thinks that humans have finally gone too far, time to wrap it up?
Yes, religious beliefs can be homophobic and I'm not going to apologize for saying that.

A concept of Aegon I Targaryen if you can please????
Sure. Includes his wives as I see them all together. I struggled on this more than I thought.... Would like feedback, I kinda wanted to make this more yandere but wasn't sure how?
Yandere! Aegon I Targaryen Concept
(The Conqueror - FT. Rhaenys + Visenya)
Pairing: Romantic - Some Sharing
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Targcest (Aegon/Rhaenys/Visenya), Polygamy, Manipulation, Possessive/Protective behavior, Violence, Blood, Murder, Isolation, Dubious relationship(s).
Aegon is considered the very start of the Targaryen dynasty to most people.
He is the king who conquered and united the seven kingdoms.
He and his wives are feared for controlling dragons.
Aegon is the rider of Balerion, Rhaenys is the rider of Meraxes, and Visenya is the rider of Vhagar.
Aegon wanted peace above all else, so after his wars he did whatever it took to maintain order.
Visenya is his stern warrior queen, while Rhaenys is kind and caring for her people.
Aegon himself did his best to appease his people, even respecting religions of all sorts of areas to keep them on his side.
I imagine if Aegon was fond of another besides his two wives, his wives would know.
Rhaenys would be a bit more accepting if she learned of her king's obsession.
Visenya would take longer to accept such a thought, but if it makes Aegon happy, she'll get along with you.
While his wives support you and care for you to varying degrees, Aegon is the one obsessed with you primarily.
Perhaps you are a noble, or maybe even a servant.
Or, as Targaryens are, another sibling he decided to take as his own.
Regardless of who you are, if the king becomes fond of you, you're one of the most protected people in the realms.
Why? The man has three dragons under his belt.
As these were some of the first domesticated dragons, they are huge.
Aegon's even known for parading Balerion while visiting the smallfolk.
Despite being intimidating, Aegon is no doubt one who wishes to please.
He has charisma when speaking with his people.
Visenya enforces his laws while Rhaenys helps maintain peace between families through marriages.
Aegon doesn't care if others look down on his companionship with you.
The faith already looks down on him for marrying not only two wives... but his sisters.
So if he took you as his own, he cares little for rumors.
You almost never leave his side.
Aegon doesn't keep you at King's Landing or Dragonstone, if he travels to one or the other, you will accompany him on top of Balerion.
Rhaenys and Visenya care for you because they see how Aegon acts around you.
Like the dragon blood that runs through him, he's possessive.
He married Visenya out of duty, Rhaenys out of desire, but who knows why he wants you.
Married to him or not, he has darker motives with you.
Like a king should, he spoils you.
He dresses you in Targaryen garb and doesn't trust anyone but himself and his wives with you.
Sometimes he even gets Balerion used to your presence, the large black dragon staring down at you beside his rider.
Naturally, with all dragon riders, their dragons are attached to their rider's obsession.
Many tend to see you as Aegon's secret adoration, a pet he toys with when his wives are away on business.
In reality, his wives not only know how lovesick he is towards you, but support it.
Rhaenys suggests attire you should wear if Aegon ever decides to marry you.
Visenya warns you to behave for her king, giving you subtle threats in case you try to run.
Running is pointless.
You would never be able to get far on foot.
Even if you took a horse, you'd quickly have three dragons hunt down your smell for their riders.
If anyone tried to take you or harm you, Visenya is the one more likely to slaughter them for Aegon.
She'd feed her victims to Vhagar, or Balerion if her king wished.
While Aegon's main priority is peace, He knows bloodshed may be necessary.
In that case, he doesn't mind staining his blade in blood for you with Visenya.
Anything for you... as your king, he can give anything you want... as long as you don't leave him.
Aegon is careful to prevent such a thing, often showing you affection and showering you in gifts.
Contrast to the Fire and Blood he's caused, He's affectionate and caring in his touch.
His kisses are light, easing you into his adoration for you.
He loves his wives, but he also can't seem to part from you... his third desire.
You're already quite isolated during his obsession.
You are only ever allowed in King's Landing or Dragonstone.
During parties you must always be beside him and in sight.
No one else should think they have a chance with you.
In both King's Landing and Dragonstone you have a private chambers, well furnished with dragon decorations.
He wants his sons, Aenys and Maegor, to respect you as another parental figure in their life.
Aegon only seems to get worse when he hears of Rhaenys and Meraxes dying during one of his final wars.
He may even quickly spring a wedding onto you, making you officially his as some last ditch attempt to not lose you.
I imagine the death of Rhaenys affects him terribly.
Visenya almost pities you when she sees how Aegon clings to you.
He turns to you for mourning, kissing your skin and asking you to promise he'll never lose you.
It gets to the point he locks you away with him, hoping such a thing will prevent you from being harmed.
Physically, at least... mentally you feel very Isolated.
Even as his princes grow up, he encourages them to see you as family.
Who knows, perhaps even the princes are attached to you as a parental figure.
Towards the end of his life, Aegon never has you far from him.
Even in death you may still be affected by his obsession, Visenya now the one to encourage you to stay around.
Perhaps she's fond of you too... or maybe it's just for the two young princes now under her watch.
Aegon may be caring, charismatic, and kind with his beloved...
But like a true dragon, he's possessive and fierce when it comes to making you his...
Even after his death you'll always belong to the dragons.

Yeah I'm sorry, you fucking lose me on the argument that we need some cultural relativism to accept that a legally situation where one man can have multiple wives (but never the reverse!) is somehow good actually. You have in fact gone right over the edge of opposition to radfems into actually misogyny with that one.
Take a reading comprehension class because that's not remotely my point babe. "Whether or not we view something as nuanced and capable of reform is influenced by our own cultural bias" =/= "polygamy is never done in a harmful way"

I’ve been reflecting on this topic of what Kalim's family is actually like, especially his father, and what's going on with the Vipers. It's hard to judge a character that hasn't even appeared in the game yet. Based on things I've gathered from reading in between the lines and what I've heard from my IRL Egyptian friend and others from the Middle East and North Africa in the fandom, I have my theories.
Disclaimers:
This is merely just a fan theory and speculation based on headcanons. Like any fan theory, I could be right or wrong. I'm just merely laying out why I believe this might be the case at the time of writing this. So if you disagree with my reading, that's fine.
None of this is meant to justify all of Jamil's actions and demonize Kalim. Some of Jamil's actions have no excuse like backstabbing Kalim and mind controlling the player character. I'm saying this as a Jamil stan.
This is based on the JP version, NOT the ENG one. (That version completely butchers and waters things down.)
I'm not MENA or South Asian. I don't want to speak out on behalf of a group that I'm not apart of. I hate it when the WASPs do that with one my cultures, and I don't want to do this for another. If I don't actively speak out against some of the things within this, that's why.
However, if I put any misinformation or anything culturally insensitive, I'll gladly change it. I want to be respectful to these cultures as much as possible.
With that outta the way, here we go!
(Undercut because extremely long)
Kalim's Word About His Dad and Family
To be completely fair, here's some nice things Kalim has said about his family:
In Camp Vargas, he describes how his dad bought a mountain for him as a kid.
They rented out a theatre to watch VDC. We don't hear their reaction either way.
They host the Silk City Fireworks Festival.
They put their kids' names on the licences on all of their vehicles.
His mother wanted Jamil to cook for her, since she wanted to try something he made.
Kalim plays games of "hide and seek" with his siblings
Says his dad to be always smiling, despite being busy with work
His father also told him it is important to “work hard, play hard, and know when to do which”.
According to Jamil, Kalim’s father spoils Kalim immensely.
Kalim says that his mother is “really, really sweet”, always saying nice things about him, barely ever gets mad and she is the family’s only other magic user besides himself.
Kalim’s family developed local rivers into a network of canals. (It's not clear if his ancestors did this or more recently, I'm leaning towards the former.)
(I could be missing some things. This is all I could think of at the moment.)
The Asims are also super SUS, especially his father
There plenty of red flags that point to something far darker going on with that family. On top of the frequent poison attempts and kidnappings, we have...
Use child labour
Making a child be a poison tester
Forcing people to work for him from cradle to the grave
Forcing GENERATIONS of a single family to serve them
Animal abuse (In the Playful Land event, Kalim brings up that they have whales, elephants and dolphins on property. Keeping these animals in tanks and cages well documented to harm them, making it animal abuse.)
Having far too many kids, which forces "the help" to take care of them, including the "help's" own children. (Anyone who is the eldest daughter of a large family can tell you how much "parentification" can mess any child up. That's exactly what happened to Jamil.)
Possibly practice polygamy. (It’s unclear whether Kalim's father practices polygamy or if the family adopted many children. Both are culturally plausible. Islamic law allows a husband to have up to four wives at a time, provided they are treated equitably. Polygamy is still practiced by the ultra wealthy men in the Middle East and North Africa today. For example, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan had multiple wives at the same time, and there are reports of just ultra wealthy people like Jacob Arabo doing the same. Personally, I believe in the polygamy theory more, especially since it would explain the true culprits behind those assassination attempts. However, since this isn't outright stated, it's up to speculation.)
Mr Asim bribing Crowley to allow his son to attend Night Raven, which is a literal crime.
Neglecting their son and other children (Someone else brought this up in another post of mine, but it's awfully sus that Mr Asim has never taught Kalim anything about how to run a business that he has to lead one day nor does Kalim ever talk about spending time with him. Both of these are forms of neglect.)
Jamil's parents insisting that Jamil must lose in order to make Kalim look better. (Which is awfully sus. Why would they feel the need to do that if the Asims are so nice?)
Jamil saying in the JP his family will "face punishment" if he or anyone else in that family ever upsets them, especially his father. (I've seen people in the fandom interpreting that as them putting them on the streets or even beating them. Either of these are possible.)
Mr Asim is also involved in politics.
Jamil saying that Mr Asims deals with "the government and economy," is super sus. It suggests he’s deeply involved in political and economic power plays—likely using his wealth to influence policies that would benefit his family behind the scenes. We've seen this in real life with Muskrat and the US government. It's very possible that he's doing the same.
None of this is normal, and contradicts some of the things Kalim has said. His father and possibly others in that family come off as suspicious to say the VERY least.
If that's the case, then why do you think that Kalim make his parents, especially his father, sound super nice?
Simple. Kalim is an unreliable narrator about a lot of things. Before anyone throws their Dragon Malleus plushies at me, hear me out.
I don't think Kalim is maliciously and purposefully lying to everyone about the true nature of his family, especially his father. That's not in character for him. There are some reasons why I believe that's the case:
He's incredibly naive, gullible, and oblivious. Others who have little to do with the Asims or Vipers like Trey and Leona have all second that opinion. While that doesn't make him a terrible person, these are his canon character flaws. These can all lead to him unintentionally hurting others and not always being completely aware of what's going on around him.
He is also purposefully "babied" by Jamil and likely his parents. Jamil does everything in his power to keep Kalim from helping out, even if that would make his life easier. In Kalim's Labwear Vignette, Jamil gets squirrely about Kalim simply using a knife. Jamil’s said that he helps Kalim get dressed, even with things like doing his head wrap—despite Kalim being nearly an adult. Jamil reaction like this is understandable, due to the situation his family is in. However, this has led Kalim to be unable to take care of himself until Kalim acts a little more independent in Book 5, being behind others his own age in certain areas. He botched his dish so badly in the Master Chief event that even Ruggie, who will eat anything that isn't rotten, didn't want to touch it. It's possible that Jamil, and Kalim's mother have purposefully shielded him from the dark truths as much as they can, so Kalim just isn't aware of everything that's going on with the Vipers. (As a side note, he also possibly fits the criteria for Dependent Personality Disorder, because he checks off a lot of the boxes. That's beside the point.)
It's a trauma response. Kalim tends to downplay his own negative emotions because his life is perceived as 'greater' by others. His way of coping with negative events or darker aspects of his life is mental blocks, dissociating, ignoring situations that upset him and pretending everything is fine, even when it isn't. For example, in Kalim's School Uniform Vignette, Riddle instantly puts two and two together that someone in his immediate family was the one who poisoned him, and he acts like he never heard him.
Jamil also flat out confirmed this was the case in another vignette ...
(As a side note, I know in the ENG version Kalim asks about what he just said, and he follows this up with, "Nothing so sinister." This doesn't happen in the JP version, which is the version that counts. The original implies Kalim’s denial is intentional.)
Neither of these examples are normal. They're literally textbook emotional repression and dissociation in action.
If he does that for denying the culprits of the poison attempts, what is stopping him from doing that for other things his family does?
Let's face it. Kalim is a billionaire’s son. He’s lived in a palace with staff waiting on him since birth. He literally cannot understand what it’s like to be “the help,” because he’s never experienced that himself. This is textbook privileged ignorance. That's why you see wealthy kids who cosplay being poor because they think it’s aesthetic and cool. Why would Kalim be any different?
So, yeah, for these reasons, I don't trust Kalim's word completely, especially with so much contradicting his word.
This also makes sense from a meta standpoint as well. Kalim's "twisted" from the Sultan, having some traits from Aladdin as well. The Sultan in the animated movie was kind-hearted and well meaning, but also extremely naïve, oblivious, gullible and not the sharpest tool in the shed. He's so bad at governing that Jafar would've made for a better Sultan than him if he wasn't, as the Genie puts it, "Señor Psychopath." The Sultan claims to be a "excellent judge of character", despite Jafar being super obviously evil and allowing him to work in the palace for years. While Kalim is a lot smarter than the sultan, being quite emotionally intelligent, and isn't nearly as over the top, he does share some of his negative qualities like being naïve, gullible, and oblivious. Kalim believing his father is one thing, and being the total opposite in reality wouldn't be far off to what happens in the movie. I can see Yana doing something like that thanks to the multitude of pointless Disney references there are in the game, even when it doesn't make sense.
Having said that, there are some things that hold a grain of truth or he is being genuinely truthful that I will explain in a bit.
Leona said at one point that Kalim is too honest? How could his word be unreliable?
Yes, that's correct, but that doesn’t automatically make Kalim necessarily a reliable narrator all the time. Honesty without self-awareness or knowing the full story can still be misleading. Kalim’s worldview is shaped by privilege and naivety—he might be telling the truth as he sees it, but that truth is most likely filtered through a lack of understanding about his family and what's having to the Vipers.
Leona saying he’s “too honest” isn’t necessarily praise—it’s pointing out that Kalim lacks tact and awareness. He might be genuine, but he often misses the weight of the situations he's involved in, distorting his version of certain subjects.
So while Kalim may too honest and doesn't lie too often, his truth is incomplete. Sometimes that’s just as damaging.
What about all of those gifts and hosting that festival, then?
His father giving him and the rest of his siblings extravagant gifts like a mountain is most likely true. We see actual evidence of that in the Fireworks event and Camping one. Neglectful, rich parents shower their kids with over the top gifts instead of love all the time. That has been a trope in western and Japanese media since forever. I can name tons of shit with that trope: Love is War, Gravity Falls, Miraculous Ladybug, Code Geass, SAO, and plenty more. So it's completely plausible that the same applies to the Asim family. Kalim might not recognize it yet, but he could be repressing a lot of unspoken resentment toward his parents for neglecting him emotionally.
And regarding the festival—rich people throw lavish events all the time. It's not all about kindness or generosity. Sometimes it's for optics, social standing, and quite often, for tax benefits. Hosting public events can be written off as charitable contributions or community engagement in the eyes of many world's governments. So no, the festival doesn’t automatically prove the Asims are genuinely generous—it might just show they know how to play the system.
What about the "he's always smiling" remark?
Kalim saying his father is “always smiling despite being busy” may not reflect genuine warmth—it could be a mask. In families with power imbalances, constant cheerfulness can be a way to deny darker truths and maintain control. Given everything about that family, that smile may be more about optics than genuine kindness. Kalim, being naive and sheltered, could've internalized this facade as truth, which supports the idea that he’s an unreliable narrator when it comes to his family.
If Kalim is unreliable narrator, according to this fan theory, than what do you think is actually going on with the Vipers?
I suspect that they are in something akin to the Kafala system, serving the Asims for generations. For those of you who don't know, that's a way that some countries, especially in the Middle East, bring in workers from other countries. Mostly from poor people from South Asia, Africa and the Philippines. But the system can be unfair. Workers have to rely on a sponsor—a person or company—to get a job and stay in the country. The sponsor has a lot of power. Sometimes they take away the worker's passport, don’t pay them properly, or don’t let them leave or change jobs. There have been extreme cases of rich families severely beating people almost to death for small mistakes. This can make workers feel trapped and afraid, even if they are being treated badly. Many people and organizations say the system is unfair and should be changed.
I'm not saying if this is right or wrong. The reverse is true as well, ie where a servant harms or try to murder their sponsor. There are plenty of cases where servants are treated with kindness and respect. But the power imbalance baked into the system still makes it inherently risky and prone to abuse.
However, if this was the case, it would explain a lot, especially since it seems like the Vipers cannot escape from whatever their arrangement is. It's completely possible for a single family has severed a host family for generations under Kafala, even if there aren't many documented cases where this has actually happened. If this is the case, and I think it is, that means that the Asims violated numerous international human rights laws for turning them into indentured servants. Fun...
Another possibility that I've seen thrown around by others in the fandom who are from South Asia is them having a toxic caste dynamic. The caste system is very oppressive and locks families into specific job lines, sometimes for many generations. If you stray from it, there are very harsh consequences, especially from others in that community. Given Yana's familiarity with Indian culture, it's not a stretch to think that their relationship is based on it. Like with the Kafala explanation, it would also explain a lot about what's going on with those two. (Since I'm not super familiar with South Asian caste systems, I'll leave it at that.)
Again, I'm not suggesting the game directly depicts kafala or caste systems, but the Asim-Viper relationship bears troubling similarities—especially the generational, exploitative labor dynamic. Either way, the Vipers are NOT actual slaves. However, I think they are victims of a toxic system that's hard for the Vipers to escape from.
What do you think Kalim's father actually like?
Again, it's hard to say for sure what Mr Asim is actually like. He hasn't even shown up in the game yet. But based on my own headcanons and judgements at the moment, not as good as Kalim paints him out to be.
He may possibly treat Kalim and the rest of his kids decently enough that Kalim has some good memories of him, showering them with luxuries instead of spending time with them. Like any other ultra wealthy businessman, he can be quite callous and cruel, doing anything to make himself more wealthy and powerful. Him bribing Crowley, how he treats the families that work for him and inserting himself into politics Elon Musk style point to that fact. Or, in other words, he's a lot more akin to canon Jafar than what Kalim's idealized image of him lets on.
What do you think about his siblings?
They are better, but a lot of them aren't nearly as kind and generous as Kalim. The older siblings (like middle school and above) are probably a lot more spoiled and selfish, not treating the Vipers and other servants the best. I don't think Kalim even realizes that those games of "hide and seek" are them laughing at him.
(As a side note, I'm not talking about his toddler and baby siblings. I'm not in the business of talking about the moral character of a person who probably doesn't have full consciousness yet.)
What do you think is the deal with Kalim's mom?
It's hard to say. Honestly, it's a dice roll with her. It's possible that she's exactly like her husband. Or she could be a genuinely kind person, who was in an arranged marriage with the man and never learnt about his true nature until it was too late. It's hard to determine either way. Personally, I lean towards the latter in my own fics.
If this is the case, why isn't this ever brought up?
I can't say for sure. I don't work for Disney. Here are some of my theories as to why if this fan theory is correct:
The game is aimed at teens/young adults. Explicitly stating human rights issues would raise content sensitivity or rating concerns.
The ambiguity allows players to explore deeper themes through theories, fanfiction, and meta analysis, which boosts engagement, and thus makes them more money.
Many Japanese games and anime prefer to use metaphor and allegory to explore serious themes rather than outright stating them, especially when touching on classism, discrimination, or power imbalances. This game could possibly be another example of that.
This is a gatcha game, so the characters are rather static. This means that deeper issues—like the Viper’s implied exploitation or Kalim’s privilege—can only be hinted at, but never actually addressed. If they were, that would disrupt the status quo and force them to grow and change like characters should. We can't have that. 🙄 (Other examples include Leona's depression and Azul's eating disorder, which are hinted at, but go completely unaddressed.)
As a Disney project, the game avoids overt political or controversial real-world references to maintain broad market appeal. Those topics are controversial.
My tinfoil hat conspiracy is that it's also thanks to that Disney Park being built in the UAE. That's a country where kafala labor systems are still active, and will likely use that sort of labour to build that park. Disney has a history of sanitizing political messages in media when it conflicts with corporate goals. For example, the Lilo & Stitch remake downplays anti-colonial and anti-tourism themes from the original just to promote their Hawaii resort. Given that the UAE park has likely been in development for years probably before Twisted Wonderland launched, it wouldn’t surprise me if creators like Yana Toboso were restricted from openly criticizing systems like kafala, even though she’s tackled similar shit before like the Soma arc in Black Butler. If that's the case, I do feel bad for her, since as someone working in the creative field myself, I know company mandates are a bitch.
In Conclusion
As it stands at the moment, I think Jamil's family is being exploited by the Asims, and Kalim's in denial about the nature of his family, especially about his father's true character. There's a fair amount pointing to that possibly being the case.
At the end of the day, this is just a fan theory and pure speculation on my part. Maybe I'm right. Maybe I'm wrong. Hell, it's possible that the truth might be in the middle. It's hard to say for sure either way until we get more information about that family or at the very least Mr Asim shows up in person.

what's your opinion on polygamy?
Polygamy is a personal choice that I respect, when it comes to others, as long as it is consensual and does not harm anyone. However, it's not something I'm interested in pursuing for myself.
My heart must belong to one person, and one person only. The idea of sharing my love, my devotion, my attention with multiple partners simply doesn't appeal to me. I am a monogamous individual, through and through.
I believe true love is rare and precious, something to be cherished and cultivated with a single soul mate. The thought of diluting that love, of spreading myself too thin across multiple relationships, goes against everything I believe.
So while I may not understand or agree with the life choices of polyamorists, I will never judge them for it. They have the right to live their lives as they see fit, just as I have the right to pursue monogamy. It's about finding what works for you and respecting the choices of others.

ZAREENITE LAW
Some Zareenite holds have slightly different laws than others, but the following laws apply to all of them.
Nobility:
-Zareen Empire is a democracy, meaning its leaders are elected by the people. Elections for the High Ruler occur every 10 years. A High Ruler will continue ruling if they are re-elected for another 10 year term, and they may run for as many terms as they like. Zareenite rulers are traditionally called “Emperor” or “Empress”.
-A Zareenite High Emperor/Empress must be a legal adult (whatever that means for their species) and a legal citizen of the empire for at least 10 years. All sexes and species of people are eligible, but monsters are not.
Education:
-School attendance is mandatory for all citizens up to adolescence. Humans, for example, may legally drop out of school at age 13. The schooling itself is free, but supplies and lunches must be paid for by students. College is not free or mandatory.
Social Welfare:
-Mermaids may not become Zareenite citizens and are instead recorded on a special government registry. This is done due to security concerns, as Zareen is at war with the Aquarian Alliance, who uses mermaid soldiers to spy on the empire.
-Interspecies marriage is legal between all peoples. Same-sex marriage is also legal. Marriage is only legal between two consenting adults. Polygamy is illegal.
-Couples may divorce for any reason. Child custody is granted to whichever parent is determined most fit by a judge. The non-custodial parent is required to pay some form of child support.
-Disabled and elderly citizens are entitled to welfare in the form of a monthly cash stipend. How much they receive varies by individual and which political party is in power.
-Prostitution is legal with a license.
-Orphans may be adopted by any species, same-sex couples, or even single parents, as long as the adoptive parent is a legal citizen. There are special rules for adopting fae children in particular: the parent’s home must first be inspected for iron levels. If too much iron is detected in the water, a filter must be purchased. Iron furniture and other objects must be removed within reason. Social workers will perform yearly inspections until the child reaches adulthood to monitor these levels, as fae are susceptible to iron poisoning.
Religion:
-Zareen Empire does not officially endorse any religion. Citizens are free to practice any religion they choose, so long as their religious rituals abide by Zareenite law.
Censorship:
-Alcohol may be consumed in public at any time.
-Genitals must be covered in public at all times.
-All forms of pornography are legal, barring content depicting real death, animal cruelty, or underage peoples.
-Citizens are free to criticize Zareenite authorities, including the High Ruler.
Military:
-The military does not discriminate based on sex or species, all people may enroll as long as they are legal adults and they can pass the exams.
-Soldiers receive a large discount on housing and medical costs.
Slavery:
-It is illegal for private citizens to enslave other peoples. However, the government is free to enslave prisoners for the duration of their sentence, forcing them to perform various work duties.
Magic:
-Magic is legal, though highly regulated. All mages must acquire a license before casting spells, and this license must be renewed yearly. Many forms of magic are banned, and others may require additional licenses to practice.
-Hazard spells may not be cast in public without permission from a local authority.
-Spells must not be used to harm or override the free will of another person, except in cases of self-defense.
Nymphs:
-Zareen Empire does not abide by the Nymph Pact.
-Wild nymphs may become Zareenite citizens through the same channels as everyone else.
Monsters:
-Category 0 monsters are permitted in Zareen Empire. Categories 1 and up are prohibited and will be killed or detained on sight by authorities.
Environment:
-All pets and livestock must be licensed and registered. They must be provided adequate food, shelter, and medical care. Abusing or failing to care for pets will result in fines and seizure of animals.
-Hunting and fishing requires permits which must be renewed yearly.
-All Zareenite households must be connected to the empire’s electrical grid and plumbing system. Attempts to circumvent these utilities (example: sewage composting, rainwater collection, or solar panels) are illegal.
-Littering is legal in some Zareenite holds and may even be encouraged, as it’s believed that garbage and pollution helps keep hostile nymphs away.

What's happening in Utah? Have the mormons reimplemented polygamy? Is the LDS Church taking another swing at the whole "State of Deseret" thing? Has BYU been razed to the fucking ground?
Please tell me BYU has been razed to the fucking ground.
Vtuber-President Sunny Roosevelt: Unfortunately the Mormons are still around, still getting their Morm on. And yeah, double-unfortunately, the dust had barely settled from the Polycrisis before that whole Utah-ish area declared independence as Neo-Deseret. But we’ve got the situation well under control. I would never let any harm come to my loyal voters! ❤️ 😘 We’ve got Neo-Deseret surrounded on both sides by Usonian powers, so it’s just a waiting game at this point while we keep them hemmed in. I was hoping for something bigger and flashier, but large-scale assaults into a mountain region full of religious zealots are usually a really bad idea. At least, that’s what my defense advisor said when he took the dicks out of his mouth long enough to answer my questions.
I know it’s not ideal, but it’s probably the best option, since we’re trying to stick with the whole no war crimes’ thing. It’s hard! I didn’t think it would be this hard, you know? How frickin hard is it not to do war crimes? And then the Front Rangers starts complaining about Mormon cattle raids for the umpteenth time and I think to myself “this would be so much easier if we just dropped a nuke on those fu

why do so many people have such an extremely illogical response to incest, anyway? I mean, I can understand being reflexively disgusted by it, but when asked why it's bad, people can't be bothered to give a reason for it, just simply 'because it's incest, duh.'. 'because it leads to genetic deformities' is at least a coherent argument(if deeply flawed), but most people can't seem to manage even that.
There are a couple of things going on.
1- For a lot of people it really is essentially an unexamined eugenicist thought that made its way into law and would be unpopular to remove.
2- It is extremely common for people to come to conclusions first via feelings like disgust and then work backwards from there to morally justify attacking the target of their disgust.
Growing up I saw a lot of people do exactly this about homosexuality. They start out with an irrational aversion, then come up with arguments ("they harm children!", "they damage the sanctity of marriage!", "they will somehow make civilization collapse!") after the fact to sound more reasonable.
I wish it didn't need to be said, but basing morality on disgust is a bad idea. Whether something is disgusting or not is not only subjective but also unrelated to whether or not it is harmful. I admit I find some specific sex acts (anything involving anal stuff, regardless of the genders involved) pretty squicky but if it's consensual then that doesn't matter. I can just be uninvolved in it. To be honest, sex as a whole being kind of disgusting and slimy to me is a big part of why I'm demisexual.
3- For a minority of people they have no concept of consensual adult incest at all. Their only idea of what incest is involves sexually abusive fathers preying on children and the like, so they think that's all that incest can possibly mean, so why would anyone support such that?
It's kind of like when people say marrying more than one person is harmful because of how abusive and child-molesting mormon patriarchs are, even though you can absolutely do polygamy without any of that and the polygamy isn't the problem even in those cases. Misogynistic and domineering mormons would be abusive even in a "standard" monogamous family unit.

My 2 cents on the "is Jon a bastard or trueborn?" debate are that Jon is trueborn, for several reasons.
1) In Targaryen-the Faith of the Seven relations, there is a pre-Baelor the Blessed period and a post-Baelor the Blessed period. In pre-Baelor times, the Faith was based at the Starry Sept of Oldtown, it was very powerful and the Targaryens preferred to appease it. After the construction of the Great Sept of Baelor, the High Septon and the Most Devout were moved from Oldtown to King's Landing, where they were utterly under the Crown's thumb. Every High Septon since Baelor's time has been a puppet for the Targaryen and Baratheon kings. Of the three High Septons we meet în ASOIAF, the first is "a great glutton, and biddable", and the second is "a trained seal that barks prettily on command."
On the subject of polygamy, I don't think the practice was forbidden for the Targaryens, and in more relaxed post-Baelor times, the Targaryen kings that didn't practice it had personal reasons for not doing so. Aegon IV had a pathological mistrust of women because his mother abandoned him when he was four years old, leading to him preferring to never marry his mistresses so as to keep them totally dependent on his favor and so he could easily get rid of them when he grew mistrustful of them. Daeron II probably loved Myriah and couldn't marry again anyway without blowing up the good relationship with Dorne he so badly wanted. Aerys I wasn't interested in one wife, let alone any other woman. Maekar never married when he was King. Egg was in love with Betha. Jaehaerys was in love with Shaera. Aerys I'm sure would have tried to marry Joanna if she wasn't his best friend's girl, but she was, and he never loved another woman after her.
Overall, I think that Rhaegar married Lyanna and didn't concern himself with the Faith messing with that because the Faith had been the Crown's bitch for over a hundred years.
2) I think that at the end of ADOS, Jon will be the first to kneel to Bran and call him "my king", and that would carry more weight if Jon was the trueborn Prince Aemon Targaryen, second son of Rhaegar and the lawful king by birthright after the death of his older brother Aegon.
2A) I think that Jon and Bran are meant to parallel Maester Aemon and Egg. As Aemon was offered the crown by the high lords at the Great Council of 233, I think that Jon will be offered the crown at the Great Council of 301, and like Aemon, Jon will tell them to give the crown to his younger brother.
2B) I think that Jon and Bran are meant to be a reverse-parallel to Torrhen Stark and Aegon the Conqueror. A Stark once bent the knee to a Targaryen, now a Targaryen will bend the knee to a Stark.
Once, the last Stark king gave up his crown to the first Targaryen King of the Seven Kingdoms. Now, the last Targaryen king will give up his crown to the first Stark King of the Seven Kingdoms. In my opinion, there's no better way to spell the end of Westeros's Targaryen era than to have Targaryen rule end as it began: with a King who Knelt. Aemon the Last will kneel before Brandon the First, as Torrhen the Last once knelt before Aegon the First.
3C) I think that Jon's name is Aemon because it's foreshadowed in the first book ("nor was he Aemon Targaryen") and because I headcanon that Lyanna was a massive Aemon the Dragonknight fangirl. I think that Aemon disguising himself as a mystery knight (the Knight of Tears) inspired Lyanna to become the Knight of the Laughing Tree. I think that Lyanna named her son after her childhood hero because she was a teenage girl, and it's a very teenage girl move to name her baby after a celebrity.
I headcanon that Lyanna asked Ned to make three promises to her:
i) To bury her în the Winterfell crypts;
ii) To protect her son from those who would harm him;
iii) To name her son Aemon Targaryen.
Ned kept the first promise and made tremendous sacrifices to keep the second, but he didn't keep the third promise and that's the reason Lyanna haunts him throughout AGOT. Ned abhors lying for any reason, and the fact that he lied to his dying sister torments him, which is why Ned in his last chapter is filled with shame and sorrow at the thought of Jon and why he wants to tell Jon the truth about his birth.
2D) there's so much prince and king foreshadowing around Jon it has to lead to something ("bastards aren't supposed to damage princes", Mormont's raven keeps repeating "king", and Ghost is "a second life worthy of a king.")
_________________
To conclude, I think that at the end of ADOS, after Aegon and Daenerys are gone, everyone will gather at Harrenhal for a Great Council, and that Jon's parentage and trueborn status will be known and accepted by all, and that Jon will be pushed forward as a candidate for kingship, but that Jon will refuse to accept it, that Jon will give up his birthright, that he will be the first to kneel before Bran and encourage others to do the same. That Prince Aemon the Dragonwolf will end the story rejecting his trueborn name and going north to become Jon, King of the Free Folk.
Lastly, I headcanon that Jon will adopt little Aemon Steelsong (Mance's son) and raise him as his own son, as Ned once did the same for another baby named Aemon (him).
I'm sorry to say but I just do not agree with most of this. I don't really like King Jon theories, and I do not like even a little Trueborn Jon theories, so this is all just, like, right over my head, i'm sorry!!
My rebuttal-
the Targaryen kings that didn't practice it had personal reasons for not doing so
I'm not sure this is true? Neither Aerys nor Aegon make it seem like they could have taken a second wife but chose not to. In fact, we know Aegon was trying to figure out how to legally put Naerys aside and disinherit Daeron. Why would he be trying so hard to put her aside if he could just take a second wife? It's because he can't take a second wife without causing a huge backlash that he didn't want to deal with. There's just not any evidence that the polygamy aspect was an open avenue to the Targaryens that they refused to take for personal reasons, and in fact we have two examples who likely would have taken second wives if they thought they could get away with it.
I think that Rhaegar married Lyanna and didn't concern himself with the Faith
This is argument for Rhaegar to be just as stupid as Cersei (no shade) when it comes to planning for the future though. I can buy that Rhaegar is prophecy obsessed enough that he wouldn't care but polygamy doesn't exist amongst the first men either and the last second wife got her entire line murdered for her troubles, so it's not something I think Lyanna would encourage (and the Alys Harrroway of it aside, it's not like Visenya was treated that well either. There's just no real benefit to being a second wife imo).
Jon and Bran are meant to parallel [insert here]
I fully agree with this, but I don't think Jon needs to be trueborn in order to accomplish those parallels! I do think Jon will be offered a crown and decline but I think him staying a bastard is important for the Blackfyre parallels - regardless of his status, being an able bodied man with the right look is enough for a rebellion to spring up around him, and because Jon loves his siblings, he actively suppresses it. This can parallel Aemon/Egg and even Torrhen/Aegon without Jon having to be trueborn, and in my opinion, it makes for a more interesting story when it comes to the themes of Who Gets To Lead, Who Gets To Call Themselves The Heir, if a minor revolt organizes around a bastard because he is able bodied, in comparison to his sisters and disabled brother. If Jon is trueborn it's like....so that entire story of identity, of how unfairly he is treated, how this reputation for being prickly and lustful and violent means nothing because he was trueborn all along. It's like Tyrion getting a dragon for me - it just completely undercuts the meat of his story by givnig him a "well i WAS special this whole time" cop out.
Jon's true name is Aemon
I've actually talked about that too - I agree that Lyanna probably settled on the name Aemon if she had to give him Targaryen name, but I don't think Lyanna wanted to give him a Targaryen name. And also - his name is Jon Snow. Like, I think all this focus on what his "real name" is is really stupid (in general, not a knock at you specifically) because his real name is Jon Snow. It's the name his FATHER, the one that MATTERS the one that RAISED HIM, gave him, it's the name he has carried his whole life, it's the name his brothers called him, it's the name his sisters think of when they recall him. His name is Jon Snow. He can't escape it! He doesn't get to have a secret special name that makes everything all better, he is a bastard with a bastard's name and a carefully chosen "Jon" so as not to upset Catelyn nor disparage the memory of Lyanna. He is Jon Snow and he will die Jon Snow.
What Lyanna made Ned promise
Yeah I....don't think Lyanna made Ned promise to name her kid Aemon. I think by the time she's dying she's very aware that there's a war going on that's being kept from her and making sure her child is named Aemon is like, the last thing on her mind. I have a theory that she might have hinted at the song of ice and fire bfore she died but I don't think that has anything to do with Jon's name. I think people focus on his name TOO much honestly; it is, to me, the least interesting part of the R+L=J mystery!
And that being why she's haunting Ned...we know why she's haunting Ned! He went to war with the idea that she had been kidnapped by big bad evil Rhaegar, and figures out too late that part of why she went with Rhaegar was because, like she told him, she did not want to marry Robert. She wanted control over her life, she wanted to be able to make choices about her own life, and Ned waved off her concerns as if they were trivial. And then she died. That's why she haunts him! I think the idea that she is haunting him because he smartly chose not to put himself and Jon at risk by giving him a Targaryen name is really missing the forest for the trees.
there's so much prince and king foreshadowing around Jon it has to lead to something
CORRECT! He will be offered a crown, and he is the biological son of a king! He's just not the trueborn heir himself!
Jon's parentage and trueborn status will be known and accepted by all
See, I disagree that Jon's parentage will be known and accepted. I think Aegon VI is going to make things hard for him. I think a lot of people will know but I think the realm at large will see Jon as what they've always seen him - Ned Stark's bastard. Because that's what he is! He is Ned Stark's son. His whole story from the very first chapter is about how difficult it is to be Ned Stark's son!
Lastly, I headcanon that Jon will adopt little Aemon Steelsong (Mance's son) and raise him as his own son, as Ned once did the same for another baby named Aemon (him).
Interesting theory, and I do love the idea of Jon adopting a child but I also got like, really attached to Gilly continuing to raise both babies, or even Val - when she tells Jon he owes her a debt, she makes it clear she expects that debt to be repayed by giving over Monster to her keeping. There's an interesting play here in the way Gilly and Val get attached to babies that aren't theirs and I think that's more fascinating than Jon swooping in to raise one of the babies he forcibly swapped.
#im sorry unfortunately i am a hater of all things 'jon is trueborn'#i hate it as much as 'tyrion will ride a dragon'#asks

Read about African polygamy

Historical Context:
Polygamy in Africa predates colonialism and is intertwined with traditional cultural practices and religious beliefs. In many African societies, polygamy was a symbol of wealth, power, and prestige, as having multiple wives signified a man's ability to provide for and protect his family. Additionally, polygamy served practical purposes such as expanding family labor forces and ensuring lineage continuation.
Polygamy, the practice of having multiple spouses simultaneously, has sparked debates and controversies around the world for centuries. While some argue that polygamy can have positive effects on individuals and communities, others condemn it as harmful and oppressive. In this article, we'll examine both sides of the argument to better understand the complexities of polygamy.
Cultural Significance:
In some African cultures, polygamy is seen as a way to strengthen family ties and social networks. It also plays a role in the distribution of labor and responsibilities within the household, with each wife often having specific duties and roles. Moreover, polygamous marriages are often accompanied by elaborate ceremonies and rituals, reinforcing social cohesion and community bonds.
Contemporary Perspectives:
While polygamy remains legal and socially accepted in many African countries, its practice has evolved in response to modernization, urbanization, and changes in societal norms. In urban areas, economic constraints and shifting gender dynamics have led to a decline in polygamous marriages, as the costs associated with maintaining multiple households become prohibitive. Moreover, women's empowerment movements and changing attitudes towards gender equality have challenged the patriarchal structures that underpin traditional polygamous unions.
Title: Debating Polygamy: Exploring the Pros and Cons of a Controversial Practice
The Case for Polygam

1. Cultural Preservation: For many societies, polygamy is deeply ingrained in cultural traditions and religious beliefs. Advocates argue that prohibiting polygamy infringes upon cultural autonomy and the right to practice one's beliefs freely.
2. Economic Benefits: In agrarian or subsistence-based economies, polygamy can provide economic advantages by expanding the labor force and increasing household productivity. Multiple spouses can contribute to farming, childcare, and other domestic tasks, thereby improving the family's overall welfare.
3. Social Stability: In some contexts, polygamy can foster social cohesion and stability by strengthening family networks and community bonds. Polygamous unions often involve extensive kinship networks, which provide social support and security for members.
4. Gender Empowerment: Contrary to popular perception, some women choose polygamous marriages willingly, viewing them as a means of financial security, social status, or companionship. In certain polygamous arrangements, women may have more autonomy and decision-making power than in monogamous marriages.
1. Gender Inequality: Critics argue that polygamy perpetuates patriarchal power structures and exacerbates gender inequality. In many polygamous societies, women have limited rights and agency, often facing discrimination, abuse, and neglect within the household.

2. Emotional and Psychological Harm: Polygamous marriages can lead to emotional strain, jealousy, and conflicts among spouses. Children in polygamous households may also experience psychological distress due to complex family dynamics and divided parental attention.
3. Legal and Ethical Concerns: Polygamy raises legal and ethical questions regarding marital rights, inheritance, and child custody. In societies where polygamy is practiced without legal regulation, individuals may be vulnerable to exploitation, coercion, and marital instability.

4. Health Risks: Polygamy is associated with higher rates of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV/AIDS transmission, particularly in contexts where condom use is inconsistent or taboo. Multiple sexual partners increase the risk of disease transmission, posing public health challenges in polygamous communities.
The debate over polygamy is nuanced and contentious, reflecting divergent cultural, ethical, and moral perspectives. While proponents emphasize its cultural significance and potential benefits, opponents highlight the risks of gender inequality, social harm, and health hazards associated with the practice. Ultimately, the question of whether polygamy is "good" or "bad" depends on one's values, beliefs, and the specific context in which it occurs. As societies continue to grapple with issues of gender equality, human rights, and cultural diversity, the conversation around polygamy will undoubtedly evolve.

REVISED WEREWOLF HEADCANNONS
WEREWOLVES
◦ MUTTS
CAUSE: There are three ways to become a werewolf in this universe. The first being the most obvious, being born one. Werewolves are born into a tribe, each tribe being slightly different in appearance as well as culturally. The second way being a potion, while rare, few still have these potent potions and their reversal, seems to be nonexistent. These potions are so old, mostly everyone alive has no idea what's in it. A high enough dosage may also kill someone. The third being a bite from a werewolf. While only working when a wolf is in their form, their saliva is similar to the potion, permanently turning someone into a wolf or if it is severe enough, killing them.
APPEARANCE: always varying, there are some similarities. Human appearances are dependent on what region their live on, as are their wolf forms. However, there is a basic standard. Werewolves are four legged in their wolf form, they're about five feet tall at their shoulders. Their coloring is dependent on the region. (Ie the southern wolf tribe is a light brown and white color) their teeth are a couple of inches long along with their claws. Eye color is also varying (the southern Wolfe tribe having a yellowish car). They're very strong, while they're faster than humans, compared to other occult they're slow (especially when compared to Meif'was and shadow knights)
PERSONALITY: Werewolves overall are friendly within their tribe. While there is a hierarchy system, they still care about each other. Toward outsiders, werewolves are an unfriendly species in general. However, they're very caring toward their young and probably spend the most time with them compared to humans especially and other occults. They value teaching and tradition, passing down everything they can to their young. While they don't act the most joyful, doesn't mean they aren't joyful - they just mask a lot of emotion.
LOCATION: They're located in every region it seems, in variation. Ru'aun has probably the largest amount of wolf tribes compared to the others. They're considered higher class in Ru'aun compared to their Tu'La region counterparts. Mostly in the rockier and colder regions of a place.
CULTURE: culture is also similar between tribes, they value hunting, nature and being a community. They value guiding their children and eating large meals together as a community. They have fires together and ceremonies. Birth of a pup is also a very important moment which involves many ceremonies. While it is a male dominated society, some women still have a large influence with tribe. However, women will have one partner while men seem to have multiple. They're pretty accepting of same sex couples. (As are most of the occult)
FIGHTING: in their human forms, they do hand to hand combat. Though sometimes having daggers or spears with them. In their wolf forms, anything goes. Claws, teeth - anyway they can harm someone or something is done. When hunting, these use weapons on small prey like rabbits however, they hunt big game in their wolf forms.
WEAPONS: daggers, spears
LORE: werewolves as mentioned are big doers (no pun intended) of polygamy. While they'll have one spouse, sleeping with others is pretty okay. The more wives you have, the higher status in the pack you have. They have longer life spans compared to humans, usually outliving them by 10 - 15 years. Marriage is usually done in their late teens and a big feast will follow, depending on their status in the rank will decrease or increase the quality, amount of food and guests as well as how many days it goes on for. This is the same for ceremonies for when pups are born as well birthdays. High ranking pack members receive quite large birthday celebrations. Funerals are also large events depending on the ranking of individuals. However, wolves in the Tu'La region bury their culture. Barely turning into their form - they try to mask themselves within the region to not be sensed by Meif'was. Werewolves are low class citizens over there and can be and will be executed if found.

Polysoos arranged marriage au
Duke lsh was already happily married to cjs but his aides urged him to take on another spouse. Polygamy was very common in nobility but Lsh had vowed to be faithful to his only husband. Neither of them are very happy with this.
Their neighboring kingdom, Roan, was the land of beastmen. Humans generally treated these beastmen with distaste so it was no wonder the kingdom was closed off except for the yearly trade. The rate of young beastmen being captured and experimented upon has been significantly reduced since then.
lsh and cjs were quite fond of beastmen though- mostly because of their adopted kids.
Ohn and Hong were malnourished kittens when they first found them. They had been severely abused at the hands of their family and it took a long time to open up to them.
Raon was a baby dragon who cjs had chanced upon. He was being tortured at the hands of the Stan Family. Lsh wondered how that bastard Venion Stan had the gall to torture a dragon out of all things. Marquis Stan had a wonderful time dealing with a vicious 4 year old dragon after that. This had not been made public because lsh feared other greedy nobles might try to harm the dragon and of course, Marquis Stan didn’t want to ruin his reputation and incur the wrath of other beastmen.
This was also why he was the first one to line up in selling away his adopted son to get married to lsh. Now, as a bribe or as a spy..? That was yet to be decided.
—-------
Krs was kidnapped when he was a little kitten and was smuggled out of the Henituse territory into Stan Territory. He would have met the same fate as other beastmen if it wasn't for his exquisite looks.
They still treated him like a servant most of the time. And he had to hide his cat ears and tail lest they cut it off out of sick amusement. Taylor was probably the only person who treated him like an equal but he was forced to leave the house after his accident.
He wasn't surprised when the marquis decided to sell him off to the only duke in their kingdom. A duke who was already happily married. Krs had heard stories about their love story in passing from the servants. He wondered just how far the marquis could go to ruin someone’s happiness.
-despite what he thought, he still had to go through with it. It barely took a day before all his meager belongings were packed up and he was shipped off to the duchy by morning.
The marriage ceremony just consisted of signing the certificate and the Duke hadn't bothered to show up. Not that krs hadn't expected him to.
- cue in to everyone treating krs as air because he was of the Stan Territory and ever since Raon came to live with them, everyone had a general prejudice against the Stans, adopted son or no adopted son.
-krs was extremely happy at the prospect of not being beaten up anymore and having achieved his desired slacker life so he hardly left his room.
The duke and the servants who were prepared for him to create trouble “...”
- Out of everyone, it was Raon who warmed up first to krs, followed by Ohn and hong.
Raon had been wandering around as a kitten in the garden ( he often polymorphed into a kitten because his hyung and noona were kittens too) and came across a beautiful human who was sleeping (sleeping????) on a swing. Raon had heard from the servants how they sent off another human to their house to marry his father - ahem- the duke.
- Raon keeps stalking krs everywhere after this. He wanted to ensure this human (who smelled weird. Somewhat like his noona and hyung but different) didnt harm his new family. None of the Stans he had met were nice people after all.
-at some point krs noticed the little shadow following him everywhere and began to leave extra servings of food beside his plate. The snacks he had on hand increased too. 4 weeks later, Raon had started eating alongside this weirdo human instead of sneaking after him.
-one time, after ohn and hong joined them too, they had a sleepover. It wasnt planned, the kids all fell asleep on krs’ bed after playing around all day and the redhead didnt have the heart( or energy) to wake them up. He simply curled around them naturally - his instincts taking over
after suppressing them for so long. He steadily ignored the ‘must protect the babies’ feeling and fell asleep. Unbeknownst to him, his ears and tail came out and this was how Ohn, hong and Raon found out their new father was also a cat
- This secret was guarded more religiously than their apple pies. Their new father asked them not to, so they won't tell anyone! Not even their father and appa! (No they weren't bribed by hugs and cuddles)
- after some time, cjs and lsh realize that maybe krs isn't as bad as they had expected. And thus krs’ slacker life gradually began to fade away.
Instead of lazing around in bed all morning, he had to get up early to have breakfast with them or the kids and cjs would cry.
Instead of lazing around in the afternoon he had to play with the kids.
Instead of lazing around in the evening he had to go on walks with both the Duke and his husband. He didn't understand why they wanted him to be a third wheel so bad. And why were they looking at him so fondly now????
It was only at night when he finally had time for himself but that disappeared too when Raon asked to sleep with him. Krs realized he was weaker to children (and cjs’ puppy eyes) than he initially thought.
- and much, much later when they finally had sex with krs only then did lsh and cjs realized that their husband was ,in fact, a beastman (krs will never forget the look on cjs’ face when his tail accidentally popped out and smacked the brunette in his face)
- they get married again??? And have the grandest wedding ever?????

I have a curiosity that I feel my followers might be better than Google at answering.
How do polyamorous folks feel about polygamy?
Is there a desire within that community to get married to everyone?
Did these weird patriarchal cults ruin that for them?
I don't even know if polygamy laws even help stop those cults from forming. I mean, aren't there several TV shows with them just being awful without consequence? Feels like it just gives law enforcement another charge to use if they are able to prosecute.
I'm usually of the philosophy that as long as it doesn't harm anyone, I don't really care. They'd probably limit the tax benefits to two people. And health insurance. Not sure it would be worth it at that point.
I personally don't see an appeal in marriage. I feel I could commit to someone just as earnestly without the pomp. Plus I'd lose my disability. But that is just a coincidence.
I've just never seen a poly person express an opinion on marriage and I realized I had no idea how they viewed marriage. Or if there is even a consensus on that.

I don't understand a lot. Being trans, polygamy, the difference between bi and pan, and a whole lot more stuff, but i don't think i need to understand all of it.
It doesn't hurt anybody, so i don't think it's my business. Having to endlessly pursue an understanding of everything that crosses your path is a surefire way to not enjoy your life.
All I need to know is that whatever you're doing makes you happier and doesn't harm anyone.
My blog isn't a place of understanding because I don't think i ever will quite understand fully, but it is a place of support.
For everyone. Doesn't matter if you're gay, straight, cis, trans, or none of the above, you're welcome here.
