FIVE MAKES A HOUSEHOLD
𓆩♡𓆪 ── TENGEN UZUI X TENGEN'S WIVES X READER
After getting injured in the Entertainment District, the Sound Hashira's injuries need tending to. Your expertise in healing leaves you immersed in the Tengen household, changing your life completely.
A/N: I tried writing a Tengen fanfic, but ended up writing a love letter to each of his wives as well. File that under "whoopsie-poopsie".
Warnings: mentions of panicking, canon-typical injuries / blood loss, impostor syndrome, alcohol consumption, post coital soreness, canon-typical polygamy.
Word count: 2,248
Tumblr media
The wooden floors creaked beneath your feet as you made your way to the back of the building. Goosebumps covered your lower back, your arms and the tops of your legs as anticipation settled into your chest. It made it harder for you to focus, so you tightened your robe in an attempt at getting warmer. The sliding door that separated you from the garden outside was left slightly ajar. The hot water interacting with the crisp, late autumn air from the onsen filled the air with a foggy steam, and you watched as the fog curled around your ankles.
“There you are!”
The sound of Makio’s voice boomed through the hallway as she made her way over to you. She raised her eyebrows, halting in front of you and considering the way you were hovering by the door.
“Are you not coming out to join us, after all?”
Tumblr media
Makio had been the first to really approach you, all those months ago.
When Uzui got hurt in the entertainment district, you were called in to help tend to his wounds. Having completed your studies to become a healer was surely something to be proud of, but it seemed like a horrendous wake-up call to reality when you were summoned by the Sound Hashira’s household and came eye to eye with such severe injuries, not to mention an immense amount of pressure to get this man back to full health. The task seemed impossible; the blood loss alone had you convinced that this man would not see his 24th birthday. Add to that your terrible case of imposter syndrome – well, the panic pretty much summoned itself. If this man lost his life, it might mean the end of a very short career in healthcare.
That’s how Makio, one of the Hashira’s wives, found you: trembling, dissociating, and clutching a glass of water outside of Uzui’s room, wondering if you were doing enough in order to save the man. For a moment, you believed your career to be over – how unprofessional, to be panicking in front of a patient’s spouse.
Said spouse proved you wrong, however. With soft eyes and an uncharacteristically gentle voice, she spoke about how she had seen you take care of her husband with careful yet capable hands. Makio expressed how she was in awe of your determination, but understood how the pressure of getting him back to health was not to be taken lightly – she empathised heavily with your desire to work miracles and offered you a soft smile. In the darkness of the hallway, you watched her throat bob heavily as she admitted how hard it was to keep up her witty, loud demeanour around Uzui and her two wives.
“Nobody can be strong or confident 24/7. Please, don’t be too hard on yourself. If it hadn’t been for you, we would have lost him already. He’s getting better every day; please do not underestimate what an incredible feat that is.”
She had squeezed one of your hands, brushing her thumb across your knuckles, and left to join her wives by her husband’s bed side.
True to Makio’s words, Uzui’s condition had radically improved over the next couple of days. It seemed that he was more resilient than any patient you had cared for during your years of training, and it was admirable to see how his wives influenced his accumulation of hope and strength alike.
After his recovery, you were expecting to be dismissed and move on to the next call for help. It just so happened, however, that Uzui would have none of that.
“But, surely, you have others who have served you for years—“ you argued, unsure of how to take Uzui’s offer.
Uzui, now once again standing tall and healthy (minus the lost eye and arm), looked down at you with determination and mischief. “You underestimate how much you’ve become a part of this household,” he drawled, having taken on a calmer demeanour since the incident. “It seems that my wives will have no one else caring for us, and I must say that I agree. You are, truly, the best we can ask for. Please, stay.”
Tumblr media
Spending the next few months proved to be nothing short of a dream. When the house wasn’t filled with dread and despair and the injuries were instead kept to a realistic standard for a Hashira’s household, laughter could be heard in all corners of the building. Whether it was the women entertaining each other or Uzui joining in merrily, more often than not, you found yourself falling asleep with a smile on your face. While a household that consisted of a man and three women was new to you (you were raised in a more simplistic setting), you quickly found yourself moving effortlessly with the tides of their relationship.
After all, how could you have qualms with something so wonderful - so balanced? Makio and Uzui kept a watchful eye; appreciative, protective and, some days, secretive. It wasn’t your place to question their intentions or their behaviour towards you – you were their employee after all – so you kept your curiosity to yourself. Their shared whispers remained theirs.
Suma, on the other hand, was more forward in her feelings towards you. Soon after you became the household’s main healer, Suma started coming to you whenever she felt anxious and needed someone to simply listen. No matter how much she loved Uzui and her wives, she found herself wanting to talk to someone who could see things from an outsider’s perspective. Some nights, this resulted in a dramatic Suma running into your quarters with a bottle of sake – unable to stop talking about her mind’s worries until she fell asleep with her head resting in your lap. It was hard not to grow fond of the way she would curl her fingers into your robe and mumble sleepily how much she appreciated you and how she wished you would never leave.
Hinatsuru, who was known to be calm and nurturing, intimidated you. It was strange, but to witness the fierce adoration she held for Uzui and her wives was like looking straight up into the light of the sun. It radiated off her, and she made you feel unreasonably breathless. Every interaction felt like she was looking straight into your soul; as if she were wading through the oceans of your intentions and touching her fingertips to the surface of your thoughts.
Makio could give reassurance whenever she felt like you may need it, without you even having to ask; Suma needed to express herself towards you almost constantly; and Hinatsuru made you feel so seen that you couldn’t help but pour your own heart out to her. And she would sit. And she would listen. And she would watch you.
And oh, how these women made you feel alive.
This, of course, did not go unnoticed.
The master of the household, Tengen Uzui, kept a close eye on the happiness of his spouses. From the moment he had gained enough strength to open his eyes, they were trained on you and the way you interacted with the loves of his life. It did not take long for him to pick up on the way Makio lowered her voice and lingered every time she held your hand. He noticed the many mornings Suma stumbled out of your room; robes wrinkled after she’d accidentally spent another night sleeping by your side. He spoke to Hinatsuru in hushed tones every time he wanted to know how you were doing and eyed you knowingly whenever you were tending to fresh injuries after he’d spent the morning training.
One such morning, it became evident how much strength he had regained. He felt more like himself again, which enabled his flashy behaviour to awaken from its slumber, a twinkle apparent in his remaining eye. Mornings like these were your favourite.
His hand came up to rest on top of yours as you tied off a bandage around his thigh, squeezing lightly. “Do you have a moment for me?” he asked.
Surprised at his candour, you blinked down at him and cleared your throat, “A moment? For – you?” You nodded quickly, a blush creeping across your features as you noticed the way he took your hand in his and got up from where he was sitting.
“Take a walk with me.”
It wasn’t a question, so you simply followed.
The chrysanthemums bloomed brightly in the garden as he held your hand and led you past the stream behind the house, walking you up to the centre of a small bridge that looked out on the koi fish, down in the water.
“Are you happy here?” he asked.
It took a moment for you to understand what he was trying to ask you. Were you happy?
While the first interaction with Uzui had been horrific and gruesome, it was not what came to mind. What did come to mind was Uzui’s laughter as it boomed throughout the rooms. You thought of the way he would not let the loss of his arm deter him from dancing with his wives, making them smile brilliantly. You could sit there for hours and watch them while you picked medicinal herbs and let the warmth of their happiness seep into your pores from afar. You were reminded of the many evenings Uzui had insisted that you join them for dinner, and you blushed as you thought of every time he boasted how the table had never looked so perfectly complete.
“I’ve never been happier in my life,” you replied honestly. There was no need to be bashful about your answer – Uzui wasn’t looking for bashfulness, nor was he stimulated by beating around the bush.
This was evident in the way he let a wide grin spread across his features – he looked relieved.
He took a tentative step towards you. It was becoming harder to breathe with how intensely he was looking at you, but you let out a steady, slow breath when you felt him touch the back of his knuckles along your cheek.
“You love them.”
It wasn’t a question.
“I do.”
He smiled, because you answered anyway.
“They love you just as much,” he stated.
At this, your breath properly hitched, and you felt tears sting at the base of your throat.
His thumb brushed across your bottom lip, but his gaze never left yours.
“And I love you,” he admitted.
Your bottom lip quivered now, and for a moment you could see the heartache that flashed across his features, clearly upset that he’d caused your tears. He smiled through it, however.
“I love you for who you are and for what you do for all of us. I love you for your smile whenever you have a fresh cup of tea. I love you for you determination to make us all feel safe and sound. I love you for the effort you put into our health, and I love you for letting us fret over you just the same.”
Your cheeks were wet with tears by the time he finished speaking, and he brushed them softly as he closed the distance between you, his breath ghosting over your forehead.
“There’s not a bone in my body that would wish to force you,” he continued, apologetic that he was putting you through emotional sappiness, but needing you to hear this, regardless, “but I pray that one day you may love me back.”
At his words, a laugh escaped your chest as you reached up between the two of you and curled your hands into the fabric of his yukata.
“You absolute fool,” you cried, “I fear I may love you already.”
Tumblr media
Makio pulled a towel from a closet next to you, looking at you expectantly.
“Well, are you joining us or not?”
You blinked hard, looking away from the gap in the sliding door. You could hear Suma’s dramatic yapping coming from the outside onsen.
“Sorry,” you murmured, “I feel like I’m not all there, today.”
Makio chuckled, leaning in to press a soft kiss to your lips.
“After last night, I’m not surprised.”
You blushed furiously, trying desperately not to recall your wedding night, the night before. You were still feeling a little sore, and you couldn’t even begin to count the love bites that were peppered across your body.
Tumblr media
After Uzui’s confession, a few weeks ago, it hadn’t taken but a day for the entirety of the household to know about it. Suma had cried happily until you kissed her, and Makio was rendered speechless with joy. Hinatsuru, ever the responsible one, had sighed deeply.
“Finally,” she drawled, closing the distance between the two of you and kissing you until you were trembling in her arms – which, let’s be honest, didn’t take that much time at all.
The wedding took place four weeks later. Apparently, Uzui was quite proficient at arranging them, by now.
Tumblr media
Makio slid open the door completely, revealing the outside onsen where Uzui, Suma and Hinatsuru were already relaxing.
At the sight of Makio and yourself, Uzui beamed at you from the water.
Suddenly, the throbbing between your legs and the fog in your head mattered no longer. You jogged over to the water, dropped your robe and placed your towel on top. Dipping into the warm water, you smiled as you settled in between your spouses, relishing in the caresses and the kisses that followed.
What bliss.

Am I the asshole for getting mad my gf for making assumptions ?
🦖🍀
My gf and I have been together for 2 and a half years. She’s in her mid 20s I’m in my late 20s. We’re a het couple, both bisexual. When we first started dating my gf said she has a lot of friends, guys and girls and she intends to not break up any already established friendships unless they prove toxic. It was hard at first not to let my jealous run wild, but I learned to manage it.
My gf has this long distance friend who wasn’t always long distance, we’ll call him Sam. Sam and her have been friends since they were teenagers. I only heard about stories of Sam. Sam moved in the area and my gf and him have been hanging out. I’ll be honest I was jealous. They had better conversations, they motivated each other in ways I didn’t know I could motivate my gf. I felt like everything they did was a slap in the face that should have been together.
My gf has her life together and so does Sam. I often feel like I don’t and my gf often emotionally supports me. I don’t really feel like I can do that for her equally. (I do put in the effort but she doesn’t have as many problems as me/her problems she always in the conversation that they’re her problems to fix). She doesn’t outwardly ask Sam to support her, she’ll just mention in passing about something and he just good at letting her rage out.
To deal with my jealousy, my gf gave me her location, would let me know when she was hanging out with Sam, offered to let me pick out outfits, and ask all questions I wanted. Even with all that I still didn’t feel it. It wasn’t that they were doing anything, it was the fact they were a better match. I finally asked her if she ever did have feelings for Sam and she just straight up said no.
So she made me hangout with Sam. And I started hanging out with him more. Hes a lot, but good hearted. He was a guy I actually opened up to and didn’t regret it. I didn’t tell him the stuff I felt about him and my gf but we talked about other things and how it’s hard to be a man sometimes.
Later Sam invited us over to his place for dinner. He said he had something to ask us. He did this confession where he had fallen for the both of us and wanted us to be a three way couple.
I was shocked because at first I thought I finally had my proof something was going on between my gf and Sam. Before I could fully process that thought, my gf declined. She said that she isn’t interested in Sam that way, and my gf and I had talked about polygamy and we never liked the idea of it for us.
She wasn’t lying about the polygamy thing we have talked about it and really didn’t like the concept. We needed up leaving and hugged sam goodbye. She thanked him for asking us both at the same time and they’d talk soon.
On the way home I thought about it and I was kinda annoyed. I was annoyed my gf made that decision so quickly without even discussing it. So I asked her and she just said that we’ve talked about it already and we weren’t interested in the hypothetical and she doesn’t like Sam like that. She apologized for letting her gut do the talking but she can’t imagine having a third.
I had started thinking about Sam as a third when he had brought it up and it didn’t seem bad. His confession was genuine. I thought it was mean how fast she said no. And maybe Sam would be the only one who could be our hypothetical 3rd if we ever wanted that.
I think I’m more offended that my gf has always been more decisive than me. She has been the one holding the reins in this relationship. It hasn’t been all bad, but when I wanted to talk about getting serious she wasn’t ready, but then later she was ready and I wasn’t. When I wanted her to move in with me she didn’t because she was ready and didn’t want to give up her space, but when she found a bigger place for us she was ready.
I’ve been kinda cold to her and she asked what’s wrong and I just told her I wish we would talk about this instead of letting your gut talk. She’s grown a little distant just saying she doesn’t know what she wants to say to that because she thought we were on the same page and I said she always assumes we are but we don’t talk.

Our sweet gal Roberta...
She came to this journey to prove her brother that she was no "chicken shit". Let's see how that turned out!
Tumblr media
Earning the nickname 'Pyro Girl' right from the beginning for almost setting the camp on fire, Roberta gained the fear of fire like so many of this trip would eventually do. She also crushed on Uriah, but despite the blossoming potential, the two of them never got any closer during the whole trip.
Tumblr media
Roberta was eager to get her hands dirty from the very beginning and acquired some gardening skill, and it wasn't long when she developed a crush on Frankie after getting to know him. She also befriended Miranda fast, and the two were inseparable during the rest of the journey!
Her relationship with Frankie proceeded carefully, especially after he revealed his desires for polygamy and multiple partners, but Roberta wasn't scared so easily and soon they were good friends!
Tumblr media
Despite her best efforts to be adventurous, Roberta had to admit that she was more to the lazy side, and as an natural progression she soon also discovered her disliking to fitness. But nothing wrong with that! She and Miranda even bonded over their similar tastes and became good friends.
Tumblr media
In the romantic frontline, Frankie and Roberta took some new steps, but the joy was short-lived when Roberta found herself become jealous after seeing Frankie kiss Jamie. The incident created a little rift in the romance, during which she realized her need and like for affection.
But all was not lost with Frankie! They had a little chat and after talking things through, Roberta decided to give their relationship another chance and not get jealous from physical romance with others.
Tumblr media
In the final days Roberta took the last leap to exceed herself and exlored the Dreadhorse Caverns to prove his brother wrong for good! Though she was very proud of herself for achieving so much during this trip, the couldn't help getting a fear of being alone from all of that relationship drama she had endured.
Overall, Roberta blossomed on this trip! She learned and grew so much on this trip that she's hardly the same girl she was on the first day. Now with things somewhat settled with Frankie we're left to wait on that date he promised her...
Thank you @lonvely for Rori! She's so relatable and easy to love that I've been rooting for her in everything she's done this whole time! I can't wait to see how things will go for her and Frankie! 💖

Most funny thing about tg is that Aegon has no rights to throne by andal law and andal law doesn't apply to Targs
According to the "andalI law" Jaehaerys is a usurper, so he had no right to appoint Viserys, who is a usurper, and Aenys was also one, because of polygamy… and so on :P If we were guided by this (lack of acceptance of the second wife and the daughter's priority over her uncle), it would turn out that the only rightful ruler according to the "andal law" was Maegor, who won the throne after the death of his brother-usurper :P But no one will probably agree with this, True?
Aegon I -> Aenys = wrong (the Andals did not support polygamy, so according to them, Aegon's legal heir should be Maegor - the firstborn son of his first wife)… but people have no problem. Maegor -> Jaehaerys = wrong (the daughter stands before her uncle, and Aegon should become king after Aenys' death, and his firstborn was Aerea, and her uncle was Jaehaerys)… but people have no problem. Jaehaerys -> Viserys = wrong (again the daughter before uncle rule should apply, so the heir should be Rhaenys, who was passed over in favor of her uncles and then her cousin)… but people have no problem.
Strangely enough, the problem only arises when the "law" is to be bent in favor of the woman.
In fact, since the Targaryens did not come from the Andals and conquered Westeros, they should not be expected to follow such a law. And the fact that the Targaryens tried to adapt to the laws and customs of the place they conquered proves that they are not "terrible colonizers" as some say…

Well...
Mingi x Fem!idol!reader x Seonghwa
Overview: A series of interviews reveal a secret about your love life you hoped would stay secret.
Warnings: suggestive content. Fluff ig? Mingi and Seonghwa are very tall. Polygamy. Slight seongi if you squint.
-
Clip 1:
"That is San!" Baijin, your lead vocalist, exclaimed, throwing her hands in the air.
The rest of the band members laughed as Baijin tried hard to prove her point. You slicked your mid length bright orange hair out of your face as you sat arguing playfully with two other members, Sulin and Lena, who agreed with Baijin.
"YOUR SO WRONG! THAT IS A MINGI ARM IF IVE EVER SEEN ONE!"
The crew members behind the camera laughed along with your group. Jade, your lead dancer, pointed to you.
"What makes you so sure ___ Sun-Li?!" She exclaimed, playfully poking your chest.
You held in your reasons. Because you couldn't tell them that you had felt it wrapped around your thighs or that his hand had held your wrists together multiple times while he rolled his hips into you, breathing heavily.
No you could not tell them that at all.
You cleared your throat.
"I JUST KNOW!"
The screen counted down to 1 from 3 and revealed that the arm had, in fact, belonged to mingi. You pursed your lips and jerked your fist, "Yes!" You hissed excitedly.
"HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT!" Jewel's mouth fell agape in shock.
You laughed and covered your eyes shyly. "He is one of my bias after all!" You flapped your hands by your side feeling defeat.
---
Clip 2:
You were at glamour doing an interview reacting to the ATEEZ cyberpunk dance they did on tour. Sulin openly admitted straight away that she couldn't take her eyes off of Wooyoung, making the other members giggle softly.
Jade pointed to something she had noticed on San as the video showed the group holding blindfolds in their mouths, slowly getting lower to the ground. You tried to keep your composure calm as you watched Seonghwa roll his hips while kneeling, hands behind his lean and broad back with the blindfold in his mouth still.
You held your hand over your mouth, trying to cover your sly smirk and deep blush over your cheeks. Jewel paused the video and looked at you, which made everyone else look at you with confused and knowing faces.
"Why are you all looking at me?!" You chuckled and covered your face with your tattooed hands.
"We all know you think Seonghwa is hot! You don't have to hide, " Baijin stated openly, making your blush worse.
"I mean, he's got a way with his hips. I gotta admit," Faye raised her brows and pursed her lips.
Oh, he sure does. The lean muscle on Seonghwa made your knees weak. How he was still able to flip you over with his lean arms... God, it made you blush every time.
"Yes he does" you tried to agree nonchalantly.
---
Clip 3:
Your group had been selected to film a video with ateez. It was just a casual and fun video of dressing the other idol. So, for example, yunho would dress Jade and Vice verse, Yeosang would dress Sulin and so forth.
you had been assigned wooyoung and San. Easy enough. You thought. They often dressed the same anyways, so you weren't too worried. As you picked out outfits for the two boys, grabbing things like bracelets and leather jackets, it didn't stray away from anyone's eye that Mingi and Seonghwa kept eyeing you off, whether you were squatting by the shoes or picking out a belt for wooyoung, their glances did not go unnoticed.
First up was Jade and yunho: both were dressed in some kind of blue and looked comfortable. They were pleased with their outfits. Everyone thought it was sweet that they matched.
Then went yeosang and sulin: Dressed in dark purple, yeosang twirled upon Seonghwa's request to see the whole outfit. Sulin wore light pink that suited her well, she couldn't stop smiling.
Eventually, I came the time for Baijin and Mingi and then Faye with Seonghwa. While you could tell your boys were playing it professional for the camera, the three of you didn't refrain from eyeing each other as faye and baijin explained why they dressed the boys the way they did.
You hated it.
Watching the girls' hands stroke over Seonghwa's lean shoulders and mingis narrow waist giggling to themselves. You wanted to set the building on fire watching this take place. Faye admired the shining red jacket she'd put on Seonghwa and baijin bragged about how the mesh top hugged mingis waist perfectly.
"What do you think___? Ravishing?" mingi asked you playfully, almost teasingly.
You cleared your throat. "ravishing indeed," you smirked pleasingly, posing with your hands in your pants pockets.
In your peripheral, you could see Hongjoong murmur something to San, which made them both laugh. Then Wooyoung and jungho joined in on the joke, and soon, all the other boys except mingi and seonghwa, who stood intimidatingly infront of you acting as some kind of bodyguard wall.
Without the others or the camera seeing, mingi licked his lips at you as seonghwa smirked at you, making you tilt your head to the floor, blushing heavily.
"I think we have a winner!" San exclaimed as he came and jumped on Seonghwa, who instinctively grabbed san's legs on his back.
The group laughed and made funny comments to Seonghwa and San, with yeosang and yunho trying to jump on the back of San, much to the dismay of Seonghwa.

YIN: Over the past couple of months, Seonghwa, Mingi, and I have contemplated announcing this to the world. As idols, we have feared announcing this might cause some issues with our fans, and we openly state that any hate toward us will not be tolerated. On this day, we finally made the decision to tell you all that we are a polycule. I love my partners with my whole heart, and I am immensely proud of them and I hope you can all find it in your hearts to support us. @Fixon_n_on @star.hwa 🫶

ok i know i've been talking about Robyn a lot lol but I'm prepping for a deep dive video on her and I think I've finally figured her out:
Her mom was the secondary wife from the time she was 8 or 9, and secondary in the sense that her (step)dad didn't even claim her mom's family publicly. Likely under the guise of "I can't be public about being a polygamist or they'll throw me in jail" (which has been used to justify a lot of abuse in the fundie mormon community).
Anyway so she grew up being part of the less important family, which from everything I've seen *so far* is something she seems to justify publicly. But something like that has gotta do a number on anyone right, like imagine your dad not publicly acknowledging you until you're in your 30s (she was actually the exact age I am now)? Her stepfather though, who she considers her dad, was very very conservative and from everything I can see, he really drilled it into her head that polygamy was the most holy way to go, and that his actions were for the good of the entire family.
So like Christine has pointed out, she has never actually lived in a plural marriage setting where multiple moms and kids have to negotiate every day life, and that apparently wasn't something she was interested in learning or that Kody required of her when she married him. Despite that, she is an adamant advocate for plural marriage and basically all evidence points to the fact that she really does want to be considered a sister wife.
And lastly (and I say this objectively not hatefully) Robyn is a compulsive liar. She twists details about the past to fit a certain narrative in her head and this may be a hot take, but I don't really think she does it consciously or to be *knowingly* manipulative. Like in the last episode, she tells a blatant lie about Kody not wearing the gold ring Meri gave him when they first started dating (if you don't know that story let me know bc OOF is it a doozy). There's thousands of hours of video that proves her wrong, but if the ring story is true the way Meri, Christine, and Janelle tell it, the narrative of her not being responsible for the tremendous shift in the family dynamic can't be true.
So I really think her trauma response to her upbringing was to ignore, suppress, and reframe a situation until it resembles something that is not so painful, just like she did with her childhood. That's not to justify her behavior because as adults, it's our responsibility to be introspective and heal ourselves as much as we can, but I don't know why else someone would lie so often and so blatantly when they can be so easily proven wrong. Lying is like taking a Tylenol for a headache if the headache is painful truths about her life that she can't reconcile.
I think she really did want to live polygamy but the part of her she suppresses was definitely going to take advantage of any opportunity she got to be the primary wife. And not just for ego reasons, but maybe to avoid some of the pain her mother experienced. Almost like she was owed it bc of her past, and I think she dismisses the other wives legitimate concerns because her mom was "happy" and devoted to her husband and she had it way worse.
Anyway sorry to rant about Robyn Brown on a Tuesday lol but I'm mostly just thinking out loud and trying to organize my thoughts for my deep dive. If you have any Robyn thoughts or lesser known stories/pieces of info let me know‼️‼️😊

You know I read that Doyle apologized (allegedly) to Mormons for writing a really demonizing story about them, and while I was listening to said demonizing story, I couldn’t help but think “oh, yes, I must search these, or I shall be led astray” (don’t look at me, my speech patterns tend to match the books I’m reading, stop looking at me)
So, I looked up things like Mormons having a subsection that existed just to exile/murder/intimidate people (which did exist, but Brigham Young claimed he disbanded it), Mormons kidnapping their wives (I can’t find any proof for it, but all the proof against it is just “people are too hard on these guys” and I’m sorry but it is impossible to be too hard on Utah-based Mormons. You have not met a real bastard until you’ve met a stuck-up, pretentious Mormon who hails from the land of Utah), people who tried to leave the religion mysteriously vanishing (proof would be hard to find for this one anyway, because they could have just claimed it was a bear attack or an attack from the natives or some settlers on their way to California, and who would doubt them???) etc. etc.
A lot of the results were inconclusive at best. Which is perfectly fine, honestly. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle didn’t have an internet connection and access to the broadest encyclopedia in history, and apparently he got most of his information from reading papers on Mormons. It’s fine that he got things wrong. You can’t be led astray and think that this belittles or lessens the absolute horror I felt while reading parts of the story because of how terrifying and disgusting it is, from my own perspective.
So, when the main character, John Ferrier, is visited by the man himself, Brigham Young, I thought to myself, “Doyle didn’t even ever meet this man once. If there are discrepancies, that’s fine. I’ll just search them up, correct my knowledge, prove that my biases towards Mormons are really unfounded and-“
BRIGHAM YOUNG SAID THAT IF MORMONS DIDN’T PRACTICE POLYGAMY, THEY WOULD BE DAMNED TO HELL.
(From Wikipedia, with references to a book: “Brigham Young said that any male member of the church who was commanded to practice polygamy and refused would be damned.” You can actually borrow the book this quote is sourced to from, oh, Brigham Young University)
Brigham Young said that. Brigham Fucking Young fucking said that. This man has a fucking university named after him. He’s one of the most famous Mormons in history for saying “This is the place” when he came across a valley. When he threatened, in the novel, that John Ferrier had to marry off his daughter or else him not taking a wife meant he wasn’t a real Mormon, I thought it was wrong. I thought it was made up. I thought it was just a silly little thing people made up. I thought it was a goof, a gaff, poppycock.
I make no secret of my biases towards Mormons. Specifically, I find fault in those Latter-Day Saints who place their roots in Utah, the main hive, as it were. And don’t get me wrong; Utah has improved greatly in the past hundred years. Mormons are still the majority, but there are immigrants from other states and other countries, which gives me hope that maybe one day, there will be no children bullied in school because they don’t practice a bogus religion “correctly” at the age of seven. Just a small hope of mine.
I can’t tell you that Mormons are all bad people. Such a thing is impossible. Those children born into families that ask them to study scripture every night, is it really their fault? All religions call themselves “the correct religion,” so I can only assume that the problem of bullying and slandering is prevalent for all who don’t practice the same religion as the majority, when that majority controls the land. I’ve met many people who practice Mormonism who are genuinely good and kind. I’ve met just as many who would watch a child be mocked and laughed at just because that child was not one of them.
Did Mormons have a rough history? Yes. Was it majorly, almost entirely the fault of the religious leaders themselves? Also yes. What did they think would happen when they took over towns and put small shops out of business? What did they expect when all of the members voted for the same person, making it impossible for people living in that place to make their opinion known? The people drafted into the might not have knowingly done wrong, but I just can’t believe that liars as good as the likes of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young didn’t know exactly what they were doing.
So, is this story, taking place in A Study in Scarlet, demonizing to an unrealistic extreme? Of course. Such is fiction. But was everything in the story wrong?
No.
Unfortunately, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle got at least one fact correct.

WEDDING BELLS
WF THOUGHTS (5/14/25).
We’re entering wedding season. All over America, brides and grooms are nervous about their big day.
Almost all of the brides and grooms just want the day to be over. There’s such pressure. There are so many details. It’s so expensive. There are so many things that can go wrong.
I have a romantic thought for all of the brides and grooms. It could be worse.
How much worse? Let’s take a look at some wedding traditions from other countries.
In Congo, the couple cannot laugh or smile during the ceremony. Laughing or smiling is an insult to both families and suggests that the couple is not taking the wedding ritual seriously.
In Korea, they tie up the groom and smack his bare feet with fish or sticks. It is supposed to test his readiness for his wedding night.
In Kenya, the father of the bride spits on her face and breasts. It’s supposed to be a blessing.
In Germany, to prove that they’ll be able to work together, tradition dictates that the couple must saw a log in half at the reception.
Scotland observes the “Blackening of the Bride.” They tie her to a tree and dump dirty stuff on her. (Molasses, dirt, and coal ash are favorites.) This is supposed to get her ready for the hardships of married life.
In Russia, couples are encouraged to get married at the gravesite of a relative. Doesn’t that sound like fun? It’s supposed to bring good luck.
These traditions aren’t a laughing matter. Right now in South Africa, there’s a major divorce case pending that involves the Zulu King. A strange wedding tradition is playing a big role in the case.
Even though polygamy is very common in Zulu culture, the King is seeking a divorce from his first wife. His second marriage is also in trouble, and two women are already in the running to become the newest wife. The prior King, the current King’s father, had six wives and 28 children.
The King found the first wife when he was dining at a restaurant. She was the cabaret singer. They got married in 1921.
What’s the wrinkle in the divorce from the first wife? There’s a question about the validity of the wedding. The couple had a private modern marriage ceremony. It might not be a binding Zulu marriage. Zulu custom demands that marriage ceremonies be public, with specific ritualistic songs and dances. In one particular ritual, the bride must dance with a spear and then give the spear to the groom. That seals the marriage. So what happens if there’s no spear dance? That’s what the court will decide.
If you’re about to get married in America, be thankful that you’re not required to complete some strange ritual. It will be a difficult day, but it could be worse. Nobody has to dance with a spear.

Also what’s frustrating is a lot of the stuff that people rag on Mormons about is stuff that Mormons don’t do, or is misinterpreted (biggest example is the polygamy — that is not church doctrine anymore. It certainly was in the past, and there are some extreme Mormons who still practice it, but the institution that is the Mormon church does not condone polygamy.) So this makes it REALLY easy for practicing Mormons to shut down any criticism of the church, because hey that’s not how we do things! But then you ask them questions about actual church doctrine and church history, such as, I don’t know, what was up with Joseph Smith marrying a 15 year old? (I found that factoid out when I was fifteen. I was already atheist by then but I still wonder how any adult could know this and worship Joseph Smith as a prophet). Isn’t it weird how he forced guys to go on missions so he could marry their wives? And how come Emma Smith, his first wife (first and only as Mormons are led to believe), left the church? Why couldn’t Black men receive the priesthood (which is granted to all Mormon men deemed worthy either at the age of twelve or upon conversion) until 1977? And, like this post mentions, what the fuck is up with Mormons, the Book of Mormon, and Indigenous peoples? Why do we treat this book as historical fact when it is so easy to prove how wrong it is? Why are we treating Natives so cruelly and pretending it’s an act of God?
I grew up Mormon, and I didn’t find out that Mormons believed indigenous Americans were descendants of Israelites until after I had mentally left the church. Some Mormons explain this away by saying the Book of Mormon isn’t meant to be interpreted literally, but I grew up in a liberal part of a liberal part of the United States, and everyone treated the BoM like a historical document. I didn’t learn about the Church’s history with racism and sexism until I had mentally left the church, too. There is so much that they just don’t fucking tell you because they know you’ll lose faith otherwise. That’s why I care about being empathetic to the Mormons in my life (especially the younger ones), because I know that they are being lied to and manipulated by the church. There are plenty of Mormons doing the lying, but I don’t have as many run ins with them. I know a lot of people, especially queer POC, who have been deeply hurt by the church but struggle letting go of the comfort that it brings. I know a lot of Mormons who care about anti-racism, LGBTQ rights, and helping those in need. I honestly do not fucking know how they reconcile those things with being in the church, but at the same time… I kinda do. Leaving the Mormon church feels impossible until you’ve done it. And then you wonder how you stayed so long in the first place without getting exhausted from the mental gymnastics.*
*i want to add that i do not blame anyone who hates mormons bc we’ve done some pretty unforgivable shit. It’s just that i can’t help but feel for people who are still in the church because I have firsthand experience with the manipulation used to keep you there. For example, according to Mormon doctrine, I will not be in the same afterlife as any of my Mormon family members because I’m an apostate. I’m prettyy sure that being an apostate is like the worst possible thing a Mormon can be when it comes to the Mormon afterlife, but I can’t quite remember. Mormon heaven is really confusing and believe it or not, I didn’t pay a lot of attention in Sunday School.
It's amazing to me just how good the Mormon church has been at hiding just how bad they really are from public view. Even the shit that gets spread around is the relatively harmless bullshit. They had a crazy prophet with magic glasses. They believe in god-mandated polygyny. They think everyone who is good enough will get their very own planet after the world ends. They wear magic underpants. Mormon men are all paladins.
Here's one of the ones you hear less often:
See, like many other Christian sects, the Mormons really do believe that the existence of Christ obviates the existence of Judaism. Judaism was just a placeholder until the "real" church could be established by Jesus.
And the Mormons in particular believe, dead ass, that the entire inheritance of Israel has been given to them, because the Jews failed to recognize the Messiah when he was on Earth. They really do. They have this whole system where people are given a "divine revelation" about which of the Tribes of Israel they're a member of (don't worry, they decided that most people belong to the two tribes that are willing to "adopt" people. Only the most specialest boys and girls are members of the original ten).
Let's sum up so far. The Mormons believe that they are the people of Israel, chosen and protected by God. If Jews want to get back in on that party, they can always repent and convert to Mormonism, the one true church to which God gave all the rights and blessings that were originally bestowed on Abraham's house.
But it doesn't stop there!
The Mormons also believe, in all seriousness, that all Indigenous peoples of the Americas are descended from a small group of Jewish people who left just before the fall of Jerusalem (~600 bc iirc). Their entire weird-ass extra bible is a chronicle of those people's history in [unspecific part of America]. At the very beginning of the book, two brothers in the original family turn away from god, so they and all their descendants are cursed with dark skin, so that the good Nephites (who remain "white and delightsome") will always be able to tell themselves apart from the wicked Lamanites.
So, you've got supposedly Jewish people running around the Americas. And the "good" ones are white, and the "bad" ones are brown. Then, ofc, Jesus comes to visit them (I guess supposedly that's part of what he was doing during his dirt nap? Or possibly after he left again, it's not clear), and they all convert to Christianity, which they think is clearly the natural evolution of Judaism. Well, at the end of the book, all of them become wicked, in a kind of weird pseudo-apocalyptic series of events. They are all cursed with dark skin, until such time as they repent for their ancestors sins and return to the gospel.
But of course, Mormons being the good and kind people they are, they want everyone to receive the blessings of God and be brought into the houses of Israel etc etc. And it isn't the fault of those poor little Indigenous children that their distant ancestors turned away from God and became wicked.
So what's the natural answer? Well, Mormons are real big on missionary work, as we all know. But apparently that wasn't enough in this case.
Because the Mormon church has been one of the big players in abducting as many Indigenous children as possible, in order to indoctrinate them into being good Mormons, so that they can turn white again and be blessed. My mother remembers hearing talks about this in the 70s and 80s. The church literally had a "Lamanite Adoption Program," where families in the church were encouraged to get as many Indigenous children as possible away from their families and not let them be reunited until they were fully assimilated and ready to go back and proselytize about how wonderful the church is.
The church leadership literally talked about how wonderful it was to see these children becoming whiter. Actually whiter. Like, saying that when they finally saw them with their families again, it was beautiful how much paler they were.
I'm pretty sure this program has been officially ended, but it doesn't take a genius to speculate about who might be behind the curtains on the movement in the western US to gut the ICWA....
So yeah. Next time someone tries to tell you that the Mormons are just harmless weirdos, please remember that they're an antisemitic cult that advocates for the forced assimilation of Indigenous children to help them escape the cursed brown skin of their ancestors.

We share jokes, birthday wishes & many more. I am sharing a post… no idea who wrote this but it is an eye opener. Can we prove this post wrong? I'm open for discussion. *Congress and Hinduism* Hindus still couldn’t understand Congress even after : Article 25, 28, 30 (1950) HRCE Act (1951) HCB MPL (1956) Secularism (1975) Minority Act (1992) POW Act (1991) Waqf Act (1995) Ram Setu Affidavit (2007) Saffron terrorism (2009) 1, They legalised conversion by Article 25. 2, They snatched religious education from Hindus through Article 28 but allowed religious education to Muslims and Christians in Article 30. 3, They snatched all Temples and Temple money from Hindus by enacting HRCE Act 1951. 4, They destroyed Hindu families by Divorce law, Dowry law under Hindu Code Bill but didn't touch Muslim Personal Laws. Allowed them polygamy so that they could keep increasing their population. 5, Brought Special Marriage Act in 1954 so that Muslim boys can easily marry with Hindu girls. 6, In 1975 they imposed emergency, forcefully added word *Secularism* in constitution and forcefully made India Secular. 7, But Congress didn't stop here. In 1991 they brought Minority Commission Act and declared Muslims as minorities though in Secular country there can't be religious majority or a minority. 8, They gave special rights like Scholarship, Govt. benefits to Muslims under Minority Act. 9, In 1992, they stopped Hindus from taking back their Temples in legal way and snatched 40000 Temples from Hindus by Place of Worship Act. 10, Congress even didn't stop here and in 1995 they gave right to Muslims to claim any land, snatch any Hindus land by Waqf Act and made Muslims second biggest land owner of India. 11, In 2007, they declined the existence of *Shri Ram* in Ramsetu affidavit in Supreme Court & Extreme point in anti- Hindu crusade was in 2009 when Congress declared Hinduism as *terrorist* religion by coining the term Saffron terrorism. 12, Same Congress never used the word Islamic terrorism in their 136 year history. 13, Congress slowly very cleverly kept stripping Hindus. They kept stripping Hindu rights one by one & now Hindus are completely bereft of everything & funny thing is they are not even aware of it. 14, They don't have their Temples, they don't have their religious education, their lands are not their permanent properties. And they don't even ask questions! Why Mosques and Churches are free, but Temples are under Govt. control? Why there are Govt. funded Madarssas, Convent schools but not Govt. funded Gurukuls? Why their is Waqf Act but not Hindu land act? Why their is Muslim Personal board but not Hindu Personal board? Why there is majority minority, if India is Secular country? Why Ramayan and Mahabharata not taught in schools? 15, Aurangzeb used the sword to destroy Hinduism, Congress used Constitution, Acts, Bills to destroy Hinduism and where the sword failed, Constitution did it. 16, And then there is media. If any one try to ask these questions, he/she is declared communal, saffron terrorist. If any politician try to correct these mistakes then they are called as they are weakening the democracy. 17, Remember it just took 80 years for the fall of the mighty Roman religion. Every Hindu must read about fall of Roman civilization. No external force could defeat them, they were defeated internally by their own ruler Constantine and by Christianity. 18, Hindus chose Nehru & his family from 1950 & have paid a heavy price & have being at receiving end for most of the years from both Congress Govts & Jihadi forces. 19, Time for Hindus to come out of Slave mentality & be like Shivaji & Rana Pratap who never became slaves during their reign. 20, Today we have a dynamic PM whose hands needs to be strengthened until we conquer the World not by Sword but by " *Vasudaivam Kutumbukam* Do we need this one party when has done so much injustice to Hindus ??? *Wake Up Indians & Hindus*

You woke after what feels like an eternity later, pleasantly sore all over and satisfied, you turned over hoping to return to the very realistic dream you just had, but doing do brought to things to your attention. The first thing is that your nest is much bigger, now being able to fit much more people, the second is the lack of evidence aside from the love bites and bruises that are sprinkled all over your skin, as well as the claim marks on your neck and shoulders.
Thinking to yourself you just moved around too much in your sleep, stretching your limbs was proving difficult as none of them wanted to cooperate, deciding to sit up was what lead you to notice the bump in your stomach, also, prompted you to reallise the clothes you were wearing are not the right size and don’t smell right. Slowly bringing a hand up to the bump and gentaly pressing down, it was firm. What happanded way real. The events you thought you dream were real. Panic began to set in, did they leave? Did they knock you up and leave you alone? Did they even know?
Overwhelmed with thoughts you didn’t hear the door open nor the smell of food. “Cariño?” a soft, calm voice asks, whipping your head around to find the source, making direct eye contact with Rodolfo in the doorway, a tray of food in hand. Noticing something was wrong he quickly places the tray down, making his way over and crawing into the nest beside you. Looking over your body, assessing for any damages, sighing in relfie when he find nothing physically wrong. Rudy pulled you into his arms, allowing you to cling to him like a lifeline.
The sound of sobs and whimpers was muffed as you buried you face into the side of his neck as Rudy whispered sweet, comforting words into your ear. Carefully he pulled you away, placing a thumb and finger under your chin and turning you head towards him, “¿Qué pasa?” his words were like sugar as he waited for your response “I-I thought you all left me, that this was a dream, that you just got bored and left.” you meekly spoke out between sobs and hiccups, Rudy slowly runs his hand up and down your back, quietly humming as you started to down. “No, not at all mi amor, must have been scary waking up alone, hm?” he smiles “We just wanted to make sure you get enough rest” the younger Mexican explains, keeping his voice low in hopes of not startling you.
Moments pass as you calm down, still keeping a tight hold on your mate, the thoughts of him being nothing more then a dream still present in your mind. Rudy continues to rub small circles in between your shoulder blades “Have you eaten today, mi vida?” he asks, carefully picking up the almost forgotten tray of food he brought with him “Gaz made dinner tonight, thought it was best to let you relax” he smiled down at you, picking up the bowl of soup, “Can you eat something for me, por favor, necesitas comer algo.” he explains as he brough the contents in the bowl to your lips, opening your mouth too allow the meal down your throat. The two of you sat, repeating the process until the food was gone and everything has calmed down.
Rudy got up to take the tray away before you grabbed his arm, scared to let him go, “Where are the others?” you whimpered, not being near the others was making you lonely, scared that they did move on and Rudy didn’t want to hurt you. Looking up at the alpha in front of you as he looks down at you shrunken form, like he was weighing his options, nodding his head, Rudy moved the tray to one hand and extending you the other, helping you to your feet was proving difficullt with your swollen belly, the same with walking. Eventually you both made it to the rec room, the sudden scent of all your alphas calming you almost instantly. as you two entered the chatter in the room died out, all turning their heads to look at you.
Shrinking away behind Rodolfo, in hopes to hide your body as best as you could, feeling like coming here was a mistake. “What ye doin here, bonnie” Soap asks, confused to see you walking about, “Yer not suppo-””Ella estaba sola, la encontré llorando, sorprendida ninguno de ustedes lo sintió” Rudy quickly cut off the Scotsman, explaining to the others what’s going on. All men turned their eyes back to you, worry and concern filled each and every one of them, ashamed they didn’t notice. Price opens his arms, gesturing you to come sit, following his command, sitting between his legs, your back to his chest. The older of the three Brits presses a kiss to your temple “Sorry we didn’t notice something, dear” the others nodding in agreement or throwing in their own “sorry”’s, smiling at them you open your mouth to reassure them it was ok, only to be cut off but a gravel voice as Ghost beat you too it “Don’t. None of that “it’s ok” shit” he growled at you. Sinking into the embrace behind you, mindlessly fidgeting with Köing’s fingers while striking up a conversation with the rest of the group.
The rest of the afternoon was spent with you being wrapped in a figurative blanket of warmth, Gaz helped you back to the nest, collecting items of clothings and blankets along the way as an extra apology, each one of them apologised in their own way, some with cuddes and worshipping you, some by just simply allowing you to rest  in their office while they worked. One by one crawled into the bed, few complained about work and the files they had to fill out, others just curled up next to you and drifted off, but all subconsciously kept you in the middle as a small reminder of their love.

Safety
Fugo x Reader
Tumblr media
Content Warning: References to Polygamy
***
As far as you were aware, you weren’t in danger. The house had several alarms and you’d been told multiple times which rooms to retreat to if a problem arose. Narancia and Giorno were both also home so you had the feeling that any issue would be picked up immediately.
Which is why, of all beings, Purple Haze shouldn’t be drooling onto your shoulder.
You slowly raised your hand to wipe your shirt, moving so you were standing instead of sitting. It made you feel a lot better to close the height distance a little.
He hovered over you, watching silently. You could see his anger where it burned behind his eyes. He looked like he wanted to go on a rampage but he didn’t. All he did was breath heavily from behind his sewn-together mouth. It couldn’t have been comfortable but you doubted you should try anything.
He lifted his hand and your stomach turned to lead when you spotted the capsules. But he didn’t attack. He just kind of plopped his hand on your head.
You looked up at the stand from around his surprisingly heavy touch, trying to make out what he wanted. Fugo was undoubtedly unaware of his arrival but Purple Haze didn’t have a particularly large range.
“Panna?” you called. “Could you help me with something?”
You hadn’t been sure he would hear you. Purple Haze made a gurgling sound, startling you into almost knocking his hand off your head. He repeated the sound, the clouds of purple slowly getting higher.
“Uh, sorry?” you apologised to the slightly smoking stand. “Is there something you want or…?”
Sentient stands, even semi-sentient, were around you often enough. You had wondered if Purple Haze was independent and you still didn’t entirely think so. He seemed more like Gold Experience in that respect; able to do things without explicit orders but mainly acting out whims of his user.
He tilted his head to the side and leaned in right before he vanished into thin air.
Fugo didn’t even look livid like you’d expected. His anger seemed to roll under his skin but he kept it under better control for worry Purple Haze would make its presence known again.
“I think your stand likes me,” you said after the silence stretched for too long.
“It’s because you lack the common sense to stay away from it. Giorno has the same problem with it just showing up for no good reason.”
You glanced down at your shoulder, happy that stand drool apparently didn’t stain. “Maybe it means you should spend more time with me. Come on, I managed to steal the really soft blanket before anybody else did.”
Fugo muttered something about having stuff to do but he picked up a book regardless and took the spot next to you.
The blanket was large enough that you didn’t have to be sitting on top of one another but you never passed up an opportunity to do exactly that. After all, loveseats like the one you occupied were meant for snuggling up close; allowing warmth to wrap around you.
Fugo seemed to agree, leaning his head against your shoulder without even bothering to open his book. Its philosophical cover stared up at you.
“If it ever appears in front of you again, just run away. It won’t follow,” he said.
You wanted to agree to that and relax his mind but also… “What if that makes him upset?”
“It doesn’t feel upset; it’s not a real creature.”
It was hard to agree with that when you watched how Purple Haze interacted with the world around him. Sure, he was volatile at best but there was a lot more to him than the ‘stay away’ that Fugo projected. But you could recognise it was the part Fugo wanted you to acknowledge.
“Do you think he has more abilities but they’re hidden?”
“No. It’s a simple stand,” Fugo scoffed. “It has no versatility and is more often a hazard than not. Others always think they’ve found the perfect niche for it to master but it proves them wrong every time.”
“For what it’s worth, I like him,” you said, opening your book.
Fugo, surprisingly, didn’t really read. He drifted off against you, the past few days of little sleep were starting to catch up with him. At some point, you laced your fingers with his which made turning the pages difficult but you dared not move.
A familiar ragged breathing over your shoulder made you pause in the middle of a paragraph.
Sure enough, Purple Haze was rasping for breath as it stood over you.
You lightly pulled on Fugo’s arm to let him know but he didn’t wake up. He instead snuggled into your neck, one arm wrapping around your waist to pull you closer. The intimacy of it made your heart stutter a little.
“Haze,” you whispered. The stand tilted his head to the side as though to show you had his attention. “I’m not going to wake Panna up but you know he doesn’t want you to be here. Could you…”
You hadn’t meant to trail off but the stand’s entire expression fell, looking wholly more distressed. Not sentient? Not even the slightest?
“Okay fine,” you relented. “But I want you to stop hovering. Find something else to do.”
He didn’t seem to know what he should do. He paced the room and investigated pretty much everything. You eventually went back to your reading after you were content nothing would set him off. If he did grow irritated, a quick hiss of his name made him leave it and continue looking around.
Your arm eventually went numb but still, you didn’t move. The faint strawberry scent and the odd noises from a pacing stand were comforting. They filled your senses and just made you want to stay in that moment forever.
Exactly how long had passed was beyond you but Fugo stirred and you lowered your book.
He released you and sat up, muttering an apology that you brushed off with a small kiss to the side of his mouth. Then his eyes fell on Purple Haze and you could see the spark of anger flare in both parties.
The stand vanished and Fugo shot you an accusation-filled look. “Why didn’t you wake me up the moment it appeared?”
“He wasn’t doing anything Panna,” you said. “You needed sleep.”
“Why won’t you just understand that it’s dangerous?!”
“All stands are dangerous. You were calm so I knew he would be also.”
Fugo looked beyond frustrated and perhaps it was the exhaustion settling in but he snapped with a little more information than he was meant to give. “Do you know what I was told when I got him? Polpo told me that Passione couldn’t have asked for a better stand because they were in need of guaranteed group assassinations!”
You opened your mouth to respond but thought better of your words. “I know he could do –“
“Did. Not could.”
The air hung heavy between you; tension stretching tight as you refused to break eye contact. There was an anticipation there. It was as though Fugo had already guessed at your reaction and was now waiting for you to confirm his prediction.
“Yes, Purple Haze is dangerous,” you eventually said, every word spoken carefully. “But when you say I should be scared of him, you’re telling me I should be scared of you. And I’m not. I’m not oblivious to the types of things that you are all forced into doing but I know you and I love you so I’m not going to let that chase me away.”
Fugo’s anger burned bright but it died out quickly. Especially when it was based more in fear than in rage.
“Sometimes I really do wonder about your intelligence,” he grumbled. He leaned back into your side. “Don’t be reckless with it around.”
“I wouldn’t.”
There was a brief moment where silence settled once more. It didn’t last long before a rasping breathing refilled the air. Purple Haze, clearly confused about being out, stared at both of you without moving.
Then he disappeared again and Fugo shook his head ever so slightly. He finally opened the book that had been sitting in his lap for hours now and started reading with only a single sentence to fill the air. One so unexpected that it made your mind run blank for a few seconds.
“I love you too.”

Taking A Diversion From My Normal Content...
To dunk on one of the degenerate blogs that inadvertently inspired me to start mine - @geoproxus4.
Now, I'll be fair to him. There is far, far, far worse on this site in terms of degradation of women and general depravity. However, I am choosing to dunk on him because I found him A) especially obnoxious and B) in some areas particularly dunk-on-able.
Now, I'm going to limit myself to his content. He could be a great guy in real life for all I know. I refuse to call the person contemptible or evil, only the content.
The first thing I note is, in his profile, that he is a "theoretical polygynist". Translated from the original Quenya*, I think that means "I want to have multiple wives but only one woman (or, most likely, none) wants to have a relationship with me." Speaking of polygamy, on his Twitter account he declares that polygyny is necessary to understand Scripture.
The second item of note is that, on all of his posts, replies are disabled. Even the one declaring "come at me, hags."
I also noticed a post asking "Legit question: are large breasts liabilities or assets?" Accompanied by a picture of grotesquely oversized breasts that I refuse to believe a real human possesses. That image haunts my dreams; look it up and it'll haunt yours.
Returning to bad Scripture interpretation, he declares that only Papists relocate the Sabbath to Sunday. What with all these idiosyncratic interpretations of Scripture and declaring that these ideas of his are core Christian doctrines, I think of a certain theological term beginning with H that is very familiar to Warhammer 40,000 players.
(The defining characteristic of a heretic, in my unschooled opinion, isn't opinions contrary to the Church and/or the Bible. It's digging into that stance and presenting it as the core of Christianity. Martin Luther avoided heresy by backing down on his proposal to remove James from the Bible; Leonard Feeney insisted that everyone going to Hell who didn't get a Catholic water baptism was on par with the Resurrection and continued to do so even when he got excommunicated).
Also, on his Twitter he declares that (by commenting on the "stay away from men obsessed with submission" post I reblogged) that this woman is opposing proper family structure.
She never said that women did not have to submit, only that men obsessed with it are to be avoided.
The wife's submission is one part of a marriage. Ephesians 5 literally says twice as much about the husband's love as the wife's submission (6 verses on the former, 3 on the latter).
Also, he insists on Twitter that female bisexuality is completely fine, and challenges us to prove him wrong using the Bible alone. Romans 1:26-27. Considering the commonality of lesbianism as a subject for the male gaze, I suspect that this is a case of his perspective being distorted by porn.
Also on the subject of the male gaze, he declares that "men sexualise women's bodies. This is normal and natural". Yes, men find women sexually attractive. Always have, always will. But there's a difference between that and staring at women for your own gratification. Please read Matthew 5:27-30.
I'm not arguing with the man, having said multiple times on Twitter that his mind is unchangeable on certain points, and also because arguing over the Internet is fruitless 99.5% of the time.
If he blocks me after that, I'll feel a sense of accomplishment. That'll be the first time I've been blocked by someone.
*I'm not a Tolkien nerd myself, but I've got an older sister who's a massive Tolkien geek. For the rest of you, Quenya is one of the Elvish languages in Middle-Earth.

excerpts from an article written by swathi s. nair, dated 28th november 2019.
tw: mentions of queerphobia, violence against lgbtqia+ in the last three excerpts.
back in 200 A.D, various temples across India had sex sculptures carved into their walls. sun temple is one such place in Konark, a city in the state of odisha. the sun temple of Konark is a holistic place with depictions of sexual acts that involve polygamy, lesbian relationships, polyandry, and more. all the fallen down sculptures and walls have been preserved in the nearby Konark Archeological Museum.
“Kamasutra, the book of love was taught to young students back in the days and this was one of the pictorial media of education for young students then.” says Suryamani Malla, tourist guide from department of tourism, who has extensively researched about the sun temple of Konark.
section 377 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) states: “unnatural offenses- whoever voluntarily has carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any man, woman or animal shall be punished with imprisonment for life, or with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years and shall also be liable to fine.”
this law was decriminalized on 6th september 2018. it was a huge step in the right direction, but for a country who has homosexual sex sculptures on the walls of the most sacred temples, this should have never been a ‘criminal offence’.
other than the Konark temple, the best preserved of all temples can be found in a small town named khajuraho in the central state of madhya pradesh. Khajuraho temples were built in the Chandela dynasty between 950 A.D and 1050 A.D. the sculptures portray homosexuality and are depicted right next to sculptures of divine beings smiling blissfully at their devotees.
apart from all this, Hinduism is a religion that has traditionally considered sex an essential part of life. that could be one of the reasons why these carvings are casually scattered between others that portray activities such as prayer and war. the fact that they are set in plain view and not tucked away in the extreme corner tells that their creators meant for them to be seen by all. “if you take Kamasutra itself, there is an entire chapter that talks about homosexuality. where they talk and clearly categorize all kinds of homosexual desires. the author talks about these desires as perfectly normal and as a possibility. he did not portray it to be a moral issue or a social/religious taboo.” says jithin shankar, who is an assistant professor of History at NSS Hindu College, Kerala.
the reason why concept like homosexuality has become subjective is because people either address it to be right or wrong. the literature available tells you that having a sexual preference tis more of a grey area, hence multiple versions of the same thing. at some point in time, homosexuality collided with religion and that is when people started questioning the ethics and morality of this subject.
religion is just a discipline which tells people what to do and what not to do. there have been multiple cults throughout history before religion came into picture in this country. there have been various cults that worship sexual organs like Linga worship or Yoni worship during the Indus Valley Civilization. this gives it a spiritual entity.
many characters in Indian mythology literature like Mahabharata and Puranas talk about characters like Mohini and Shikhandi, who can be categorized as bisexual or gender variant and this shows how normal it was back then to include characters like this to the literature. “instead of getting inspired by the character, even the fact that people had the imagination to write down a character like her, is a big step. they had the literary freedom when it came to this” says Shankar. shankar points out that during that time and age, even the European literature did not think or talk about something like this. so, for a country like India to talk about this in their literature is a huge thing and it shouldn’t be looked down upon right now.
Shikhandi is another character that can be identified as gender variant in the Indian mythology. Mahabharata is believed to written around 6th and 7th century period, around the Gupta dynasty time and it talks about a character called Shikhandi who was born a woman but changes sex and becomes a eunuch.
even though many literature like Vishnu Purana term it as a negative thing, other literature like Ardhashastra, Kamasutra and Panchatantra talk about it like a normal thing. archaeology provides hard core support when it comes to that.
“sculptures around the temples like Khajuraho, or Sun temple in Konark prove to us that whatever written in these literature was not a made-up story. it was something Indians back then believed and accepted” says Shankar. these sculptures are no western influence for our country, and neither is homosexuality. decriminalization of section 377 is a big step, but the LGBTQIA+ community still faces a lot of bullying and exclusion from the Indian society, especially from politicians and religious groups.
religion has become the biggest weapon to make people in this country feel like an outsider. people are victims of lynching, mental torture and thousands of them have been thrown out of their homes by their own families for coming out as LGBTQIA+. this is a huge step back for our community.
if Indians thousands of years ago could accept homosexuality as something natural and common, then there is no reason to react in a negative way towards the LGBTQIA+ community in India today.

note: i have merely shared some excerpts from the article, as it is. i also have paraphrased a few lines to make the sentences shorter without changing their original meaning. the sole credit for the entire article goes, obviously, to the author.
also, here's a reminder to stop being an a*****e and stop using your religion as an excuse to hide the fact that you're just a disgustingly bigoted human being.
