what is the shifters small neighborhood?: a place between your worlds, where you can stop there and reside in a comfortable waiting world with other shifters, where you can interact with them, be your own person, and find out newer things!

ZONE ONE : THE EVERDAWN VALLEY

an enchanted valley near the forest where fairies and animals roam, the comfort of it's life and the quiet nights to dance under the stars, rivers and pretty rains and meadow fields that shine under the sun.

the features of this place:

The Golden hours: a time where the dawn comes by is the most magical part of the day, grasses shimmer, fairies sing, just when the beautiful sun rises down with it's rays, a moment of pure peace.

The East River: a river that flows with the purest cold water, a perfect place for a gentle way of sinking your feet in, or just to sit by and watch it stream.

The talking animals: the furry friends there can talk! they are local and love to roam the place, sometimes could advise you and are really sweet, leading you to the right path if you are ever lost.

The Fairies: small little helpers that love to harvest flowers for their homes and uses, they love to talk, and certainly listen well.

The deepest and most comfortable sleep: want to actually sleep so good for once? in here we have sleeping cottages especially for those who don't reside there, but would like a deep sleep.

The local valley market: a market abundant with every nature's best fruits and foods, crafted at it's place and is open whenever you need.

The Memory Field: a field with endless flowers, each picked flower will show you a memory from your DR that you want to see.

The valley's tea party: a garden where we can meet up and have sweets and tea while we chat about our DRs, and who there would like to be the owner of the Valley's tea party?

ZONE TWO : THE NULL

"where future meets itself."

a cyber futuristic place, where technology is at it's prime, here you can do your favorite activities ranging from any sport, or to simply access whatever you want.

the features of this place:

The static room: a room where you can sit and see every part of your journey through a tv and a remote control in your hand.

The athlete instructors: we got cybernetic people here that are especially trained to help you with your desired activity, train here and work out if you like, the neon zaplines and games.

The Gaming Arcade: a full on arcade for people to meet up here, food served and gossips and prizes.

The downtown city streets: the best part during late night food and memory markets here, stroll through the exciting city where locals welcome you with the best food known to land while the vehicles swarm over your head.

Neon therapies: a place where you can talk to your assigned therapist, to pour your heart out for nothing and helped through any trauma or damage you have accidentally brought back from any DR.

The Folder: a place where you save every script of any of your DRs, can be accessed and changed anytime, and don't worry, it is safe and locked by your own password protected by the highest security.

The Cyber Hotels: where your room will be here if you are not a resident in this zone and don't have a house and just want to visit.

Borrow center: You can "borrow" powers and any ideas for you scripts here, it is the best place to get infinite ideas without AI.

ZONE THREE : THE LUMINAL LAGOON

"where the watershore meets the sunny sand."

a sunny and happy lagoon, clear water by the ocean and mermaids to talk with, hibiscuses on the sand where you can pick them up and weave them into a crown, ask the sirens their stories and they'll say so, run in the water and back.

the features of this place:

The water has a mind on it's own: the ocean water is like your friend, it honestly looks like what it is in Moana, y'know? the calm cold foam of the water, never to drown in, it will float you up when you swim, and bonus, you can breathe underwater and see under the sea with the fishes, and another fun fact! ask the oceans questions and it gives you answers.

The Seashell shore: a shore with tons of pretty seashells, you can ask the mermaids there to make you a necklace! they'll do so while telling their tales.

Luminal's Sunset: famous for it's way of the sun setting, the orange hue over the water, the ocean calming, the people in a comfortable haze, and a way to rewind.

The mermaids and mermens and the sirens: creatures of the water, charming people of the ocean, they can lead you to play underwater, they can help around, and consider the mermaids to be as your own best friend, they love to gossip and braid your hair, while the sirens love to come up at night.

The night Bonfires: every once a week we will hold a safe bonfire in the beach and invite everyone, having a good time and of course, each of their dances, a place to reconnect with the shifters.

Palm-shaded hammocks: need to sleep cozily? or just need somewhere to sit and watch the beach? these hammocks in the palm trees are your best friends, coconut juice topped with pink umbrellas, seagulls flying, enjoy and lay back.

The boats: want a row? we have boats and cruise ships there for parties on the ocean, safe and calm every once a while.

Late night stargazing: lay back in the sand when the night comes and watch the stars and galaxies while we can talk and help each other through our lives, tell each other who we really are and what we really do.

ZONE FOUR : THE SKYFALL ISLANDS.

a cozy place where islands are on the clouds, streams and water fall from there to the ocean in the Luminal Lagoon, you have birds and flying friends there, a place where Sakura flowers waft every day there, gently falling over by the soft wind.

The April Lane: a lane full of the cherry blossom trees and it's petals flowing, each cherry blossom has it's meaning and their words are written on their tree bark for you to read.

The hot air balloons: if you're worried how to go up and get down, there are hot air balloons to do so! simply step in and step out whenever and it'll automatically get you there.

automatic Lesser Gravitation: you'll glide instead of jump to get to other islands easily, no need to fear falling!

Weather controllers: tap the clouds for rain and snow whenever needed! it is something you can easily do so, just jump on it, you can also travel on the skies with the fluffy edible clouds. (EDIBLE- YOU HEARD?)

The Nimbus spa: best self care in the whole shifters neighborhood, need something to relax back? let yourself be treated for once.

Cloud parties: parties on cloud! where sweets and games like tag and anything close can be played there.

Tea shops and japanese-inspired stores: want a feeling of bliss and happiness? go through here and walk the quiet stores, locals waving cheerily at you and their crafts to amaze you, this is the best market for self crafts and furniture or anything remotely close for your cozy home.

The Cloud-Whisperer: a cloud child which once you pay him a slice of strawberry shortcake, he'll tell you how each person from your desired reality currently feels about you.

ZONE FIVE : THE CORNER

"where chipped statues lay."

a comfort zone where the high minds lay, libraries and coffee shops, central schools of shifting and so much more, great minds here can study, write their DR scripts comfortably and use their minds to study quantum physics.

The ARS: best at their subject of shifting in this learning academy, called the ARS, which is short for the Academy of Reality Shifters, a place where your curious mind can rest and learn at the hands of the best professors and teachers.

Inkwell Coffee shop and endless study places: need somewhere to sit back really? the coffee shops are all quiet, comforting and all there is here is a gentle sound of pitter pattering of rain or something else, you can study for your CR exams here, even your DR exams, or just grab a book from the library and study.

The Endless Library: a spiral library on the street, where every book imaginable on anything is possible, find more realities, you can ask the librarian (anyone who volunteers) there to give you a book based on any word you choose, the books never rip, never tear, and is always in mint condition and can't ever be lost.

Cat corners: a corner where you can literally talk to cats- because why not? pet them, watch them roam the street with you, and they'll show you secrets of this place.

Haunted Lane: a special lane for the haunted people, vampires, and "monsters" alike who are not really monster, but old souls bound here to teach and help around, (no the vamps won't drink your blood dw-)

Old enough

I just saw a post from Wonderjanga (C.C. And Great Grandpa Wayne), and it improved my head cannon about Billy telling the league, that he remembers everything he went through in those 84 years of the time bubble.

I wasn't going to post this but I changed my mind. In my Head Cannon, Billy is already older, like 16 or 17 years old. He has been in the league for a few years since he was a kid.

Ever since Captain Marvel (or Billy Batson) joined the league, he's hardly ever asked for a reunion so it would obviously be a proven thing to deal with. Bruce was worried about this, for a few weeks now Billy has been acting strangely, missing some meetings and not responding to the communicators or the messages we send him.

So him calling a meeting was important, especially because he said it was urgent. The league members were quick to arrive, even Flash who is usually late arrived early, Billy didn't say much he just looked down trying to understand something... something was wrong Bruce could feel it.

Billy: Thank you for coming, I would like to say that the problem is not the end of the world, at least not our world but mine. I recently discovered why Fawcett has so many mental hospitals.

Superman: What do you mean by that Billy?

Billy: Do you remember the Justice Squad?

Wonder Woman: Yes, I fought alongside them in the second war, its members were Bullet Man and Woman, Golden Arrow, Mr. Scarlet and his helper Pinky, Mega Spy and Ibis the Invincible.

Green Arrow: From what we know, they returned to the United States for an urgent government mission. We have no further information about them to this day. Some myths say they were killed, others say they deserted and disappeared from the map. I prefer to believe the latter.

Billy: I found out what happened to them. When they returned for an urgent mission, they were assigned to deal with a being called King Kull. Just like Vandal Savage he is also a caveman, high intelligence and physical condition. In prehistoric times, King Kull was the ruler of a race of proto-humans known as the Undermen (also called the Beastmen), a brutish but technologically advanced race who ruled over humanity until they were finally overthrown in a revolt. Kull survived into the 20th century trapped in a state of suspended animation. When he woke up he decided that humans should suffer the same as he suffered, so he built a Suspendium bomb.

Batman: What would Suspendium be?

Billy: Suspendium was an artificial compound developed by Dr Silvana.

Flash: Since when has Silvana been alive?

Billy:Well... I-I knew Fawcett wasn't a "normal" place, not because of the abundant magic that pours into the city from the Rock of Eternity, but because of everything, the culture that hasn't advanced, the fashion sense that hasn't changed, and so on. I kept this in my head and went looking for answers, not only out of curiosity but because of memories that didn't make sense. Memories that I no longer remembered, I lived them.

Billy: I followed the clues that my memories gave me, and I arrived at an old building, the facade of Sivana, one of the Solar Centers, there was a passage to the basement and there I discovered where the old heroes of the Second World War ended up. They were trapped in a state of suspended animation, all of them, I came to the conclusion that the effect of the Suspendium had worn off after all these years. Apparently the Justice Squadron was unable to get Kull to detonate the bomb, everyone on Fawcett was affected, the heroes and Kull were trapped in a state of suspended animation that has not yet passed.

(Hal) Green lantern: Holy shit...

Billy: Yeah, holy shit. Well that was my report for the month, I would like to take a really long vacation, recommended by my psychiatrist.

Black canary: Psychiatrist!?!?!

Billy: Yeah, I'm seeing a-a psychiatrist, after discovering that my life was a loop of suffering and pain, finally my mind gave out and I developed a dissociative personality disorder, I-I- this is the first time I've come to consciousness. I-I-I have a few already, one of them is an 8 year old child called Hedwing, the other my supposed evil twin, all I fight are the sins, he was born from them I don't know his name yet...

A headcanon I've been working with, which chapters 3 and 4 cemented for me, is that all humans have these - overseers.

Someone else, who is controlling their actions to some degree, for every human alive.

In Undertale, where humans live in abundance in the overworld, this isn't concerning. Frisk is controlled by us, another presence, just as they always have. It's even why they're not concerned by the presence of Chara - there's always been someone else there. It's all humans have ever known.

Kris, by comparison, has never had the culture shaped by these other people. They didn't have other humans to tell them that this is perfectly normal; all humans have these helpers, these friends, these gods. There's no need to fight against it; they're not unwelcome intruders. There's nothing wrong with you.

Kris didn't have any of this. They formed their own conclusions, with no other ways to learn about what was happening. They rebel against their soul, and it hurts them, but it's all they know to do. summary : the village of greyslew is in deep trouble- crop rotting , finding parts of dead lemurians ashore and not to mention the sudden death of their folk due to mysterious circumstances. being fishermen and pearl catchers, no fishes were getting caught in their nets and oysters they catch never bear any pearls. the godspousing ceremony, a tribute to the legendry lemurian sea god that ensures their abundance, is in shambles as all the girls selected by the village chief are being returned and rejected. but a divine vision lets them know that the only sacrifice the sea god wants is the secluded and feared necromancer that lives at the edge of the forest, with her peculiar coven. only because she is might be the key to mysterious deaths of the lemurians and the humans alike.

"do you know this is the fifth body we found in the shore?" the panicked tone of the village head did not produce any reaction in me as i stood behind huge oak tree, in a such a way that obscured my entire frame. the wind blew in an ominous way and the tanginess of the salt hung in the air like an impending doom. well that's not too far from wrong since there was a decaying body lying on beach shore now, maggots making it's home around the left over entrails.

"chief, what can we do? the girls we sent for the godspousing ceremony are being returned to us by the sea. i think they are not happy with them. not to mention the villagers are spooked too, about the mounting of dead bodies" another man who was examining the maggot infested corpse spoke, as the chief wiped the beads of sweat away from his forehead, looking nauseous.

"i am sure that damn necromancer must have something to do with these dead bodies. she must have killed them for her own selfish purposes " hearing the chief say this, a small laugh escapes my throat. these villagers never change - blaming every single misfortune on me and my coven, as if i or my coven all had the time in the world to go and kill.

there was a pause on the conversation as the sound of the waves churning made those two go wide eyed with fear. the waves began to lull towards the shore in huge surge, as if it was seeking vengeance. the chief and his helper quickly began to mount the rotten corpse on the back of a wheeler. before they can go back to the village, i step out from the hiding spot, strutting towards them. they turn to my direction , their exhausted expression morphing into dread and disgust as soon as they lay their eyes on me. i offer them a dazzling smile in return.

"what a somber day, isn't it chief?" i say as i slowly move towards both of them. i could see them trying to wheel the dead body and leave the place as fast as they can but was staggering due to weight and fear. internally laughing, i stand there as i watch them struggle and leave the shore towards the village - a mere speck of grey and brown line near the beach. in spite 0f my nonchalant behavior just now, i am cautious about the sudden deaths too. i need to investigate more about what really is happening.

as soon as they are out of my sight, i turn back to the path from where i came, to return to the warmth of my coven. but something in the far wave catches my eye. no something lurking beneath the waves in the distance that is. before i notice what that thing is, a sense of dread creepes up along my spine. i could feel the hair on my skin raising up and drops of sweat appearing. the salty sea breeze blew over a feeling - a feeling of being watched. as if someone or something is waiting for me beneath those murky foam. my eyes scanned the surface of the dark blue-grey waters, and caught a pair of iridescent eyes flash in my direction, before sinking beneath the tumultuous waves.

as i hastily make back to my coven mansion, i realise one thing. the chief might be right - greyslew is in danger from something sinister lurking beneath those waters.

this is the third death i have seen in a span of two weeks. immortals like us scattered around , our bones crushed and flesh mutilated was a sight none of us could ever imagined we would lay our eyes on.

'i have to get to the bottom of this malignant murders before i lose anymore of my people.' i think to myself as i clutch the worn out paper in my hands, the one that came like a lending hand from the universe itself. a page from an encyclopedia from the looks of it. i found this coincidentally in front of my yard this morning.

NECROMANCER - MYSTERIOUS PEOPLE WHO CAN SPEAK WITH THE DEAD AND EVEN RISE THEM

the title of the page suddenly struck a chord in me as soon as i saw it ,an hour ago. if a necromancer can speak with the dead, then surely these grisly murders can be solved. or at the very least some clues would come into light.

finding a necromancer is not tough job, since i have heard about rumors from the human village of some girl being accused and sent to outskirts of the town to live due to her being a necromancer. but how to bring that girl here? it would be blasphemy if i kidnap a human. so what should i do?

suddenly a brilliant idea began to form in my head, an idea that would bring that necromancer to Lemuria without any difficulty. I race to find Merith, my friend and owner of the apothecary, my heart high with hope for the first time in a while.

"Merith, i need the Dreamslider Vine you have" i say as i burst into his store.

Merith gives me a convoluated look before he searches for the plant among the tiny glass bottles on the shelf. "My dear man, why do you want it? And why do you have that crazed out look in your face?" he questions slyly as he hands me over the tiny blue vine I asked. A small smile spreads over my mouth as I examine the vine.

"I believe i found a solution"

An ironically conspicuous yet never exploited(except by me as far as I can see) dot that connects everything which could be the ultimate layer of secret to unravel the true identity of Arei's murderer...

It's Levi and this is where the final piece of puzzle comes to make sense of itself: the Monotv recruiting Teruko do CAULKING scene!!!

This is such a detailed and prominant plot that so far made 0 sense as to its connection to the case. Monotv must have enlisted a helper to clean up the mess left in the gym. Since he can't even do caulking, it is 100% valid for the narrative that there are something in this mess he can't handle. This helper would have abundance of time to figure out the mechanism and took the tape. (whereas both Ace and Eden only had cursory glances at the scene also in a rather shocking and intense scenario to figure out how Nico's mystrious setup worked)

(Monotv specifically mentioning he needs help to do certain chores)

Apart from the 4 involved in Ace's case, the only one awake/available late at night was Levi(and we never know for what purpose the story writer specifically left only him awake and readily came out to check the commotion either). This connects everything.

Think about it rationally. It makes absolutely no sense for those involved in the previous case to make an imitation of their own. On paper, only 4 people knew what happened, and Nico ran off leaving the only necessary tool(tape) to replicate this. Should any of the 3 try to imitate a crime only they knew and able to replicate, they are basically yelling they're the only targets from the get-go (and isn't this what's happening right now?)which is beyond absurd. However, if a third party does exist, it changes everything, they would have everything to gain from pulling an imitation since the premise would exclude their possibility permanently.

Based on the aforementioned points, I will make a tentative prediction about one event we are likely gonna see in ep 15（or 16 depending on pacing）: A scrum debate will happen soon, concerning whether or not Ace&Eden really is the only option scope for imitation crime, for they will most certainly discuss the very reason why they imitate and promptly realized the absurdity thereof. The narrative would seem really off if they don't dabble on why, accepting imitation for the sake of imitation. Some will take the stance that such attempt would be illogical for a rational conspirator in the first place, others will insist on the lack of direct evidence of a third party.

(I just realized the dev could've intentionally let Ace kick the tape out of sight because they have much greater incentive to do so but it's very close to premiere so I won't elaborate since either way my theory itself is the same)I am basing this theory on the assumption that the tape went missing under the dialogue box cg is dev's mistake, because the tape on the ground scene always includes Ace on the ground and the moment he stood it changed which feels too abrupt and dev might just forgot to add that, and there is not a single scene that showed the tape missing without such blockade.

More importantly, there were some clues to back my assumption in the "i'm not fxxing dead!" scene. The tape is placed rather near in front of Ace, a little to our right. Yet, when he stood up he knocked Eden out to our left. It would seem shaky if we take this alone by face value as it could just be a dramatic effect, but what happened afterward is the camera itself clearly turned left to film Eden gradually standing, and turned right to focus on Ace and then turned further right to focus on Teruko, which clearly suggested the actual positioning is: Eden Ace (tape?) Teruko (tape ?) . Problem is, the tape still exitsted right before, and went missing right after Ace stood up under the Teruko "yeah i figured" dialogue box, few secs before Eden stood up, therefore her positioning would exclude her possibility of getting it. And Ace couldn't get it either since four eyes were, and the camera was mostly on him, even depicting him reaching his wound with two hands.

I think If the dev did had such meticulous intent for this hidden scene to be the key to locking the culprit, they would most likely be equally meticulous about either the tape's positioning or Ace's act to make unequivocal sense that one of them would have a clear window to obtain it, which in turn suggests they probably never had such intention to begin with.

Also, we got to consider factoring in complementary details like the starched clothes ball(Levi was the only one who mentioned being in the laundry room some time at night in ep10),Eden mentioning "someone's been following her" (I'm 100% sure this is what the dev planted to make sense of why a 3rd party could overhear Eden&Arturo&Arei event), Arei's missing glove(both Eden and Ace wears glove, Levi doesn't), enough strength to throw the rope near the ceiling(they emphasized early in one scene how high the ceiling is and eden is the smallest girl) Whit trying to make an argument about another motive Levi could have for killing Arei yet got cut off, and trying to redirect the crew's attention back to Levi's secret itself for some reason and got cut off again in ep13 11:22 12:44 (this i think is super super important and it seems only I was mentioning this). These solid details are all adding to the likelihood of Levi, and I really can't find as many other details to back Eden or Ace.

I also had a secondary theory back when ep13 dropped might worth mentioning: could the fish simply be symbolic? Sleep with the fish(godfather thingy)? Levi's background story suggests he is very likely involved in mafia conficts. J even asked him if he was "in" the mafia to which he prompt answered No. But very interestingly the dev specifically gives him a pondering "..." scene immediately after his respond to show he seemed to be thinking about the definition of his involement, then J pushed him to elaborate and he digressed.(starting from ep13 1:28) And Levi did have Italian surname.

I don't have that much confidence in this intepretation alone to begin with as I thought it is a bit old school. But since my major theory makes sense, this one doesn't seem so far-fetched anymore.

Thoughts on Irep?

i find him to be pretty cool!! i actually wrote up a response for this question before i was even aware he made an appearance in the latest episode, and surprisingly got a few things right. so i'll paraphrase some of that original text:

"a new wish has been consistently bringing back older characters and concepts to re-introducing them in a way that expands and strengthens the existing lore. it isn't a question of whether irep would appear, but in what manner. because of how peri is, unless they make an insane twist that would negate all the fluff the cosma-fairywinkle family has had up until this point, (which i doubt,) irep would still be an antagonist. so they'd have to introduce him as a real threat, along with a new rule"

and they did

my first thought was that irep is hideous and i LOVE him for that. i truly do. i couldn't stop laughing. 10/10. what even is that haircut. someone get him a barber from fairy world

my second thought was that having him be an anti-fairy godparent to dev is fantastic. i already enjoy dev's character and his constant conflicts with everyone around him, because i believe it's only accurate, you know? for someone who has been neglected and led on for so long, the only thing he wants is for someone to consistently be there for him, and yet, there's always something that gets in the way. there's always a but when it comes to loving him

so he fills the void with material possessions and glory that he knows deep down he doesn't need or want

this show is threatening to break the characters' core beliefs than actual, physical dangers. in the original show, the threats have mainly been death, physical injury, or otherwise world-ending catastrophes. most of hazel and dev's problems are "small-scale" compared to those. the plot instead hinges on their relationship and internal character conflicts. a new wish is about family relations and trust. dev's lack of it is glaringly obvious, and it shows in his erratic behavior

i think the reason why dev hates peri is actually because he's his fairy godparent. there's a very clear-cut sense of obligation to grant his wishes. to him, peri is just another helper robot. another person to lie to his face and give him conditional love. another source of money. he already has an abundance of that, and now he has an abundance of magic too! and then dev finds out that some wishes can't be granted at all. it's like the universe is against him. i really can't blame the kid for wanting another "solution"

so we have this fundamentally good but misguided character who is offered that solution in the form of a demon. if that's what gets him his happiness, he'll do whatever it takes, since taking is all he's ever known

what i particularly enjoy is dev's willingness to do these bad deeds. because the thing is, dev's first wish was something he thought up himself. and irep never gave suggestions. it's not so much that irep has a magical influence over him that makes him do bad things, but that dev is naturally making bad decisions because he thinks it's what'll fix all his problems. that means it'll also be up to him to realize the weight of his actions and the awfulness of his father. then again, he didn't blame his father for his actions in the ep "operation: birthday takeback,' but hazel. he also doesn't think to hold himself accountable for any of the events that occurred in "lost in fairy world," even though it was his fault too. so i don't expect him to realize it right away, or in a sensible manner. it would be funny if dev tries to summon irep through ritual, or barges into anti-fairyworld demanding him. i'm thinking that we'll get a friday the 13th episode, but we can only speculate so much with what we have

the episode does bring up some other cool things to think about:

"it's irep now thanks to your irritating son's name change!" now this line really caught my eye, because it puts into question the free will of anti fairies. in irep's first appearance as foop, he already found his name "unfortunate," merely accepting it instead of, you know, changing his name to something that separates him from poof. they're trapped in their realm and they have to abide by the rules set in place by the fairies, unable to so much as fight back without using legal technicalities because their jorgen is too weak to help. this is already an unbalanced dynamic. and then in the episode "terrors twosome," it's shown that anti-fairies are quite literally tied to their counterparts, and not just branching off of each other in a "what if" scenario. they're a separate kind of entity meant to compliment fairies, but not so much the other way around

i say this because the second fairies stopped having babies, anti-fairies did too. i don't think we get to see or have anyone comment about how it went down, so anti-cosmo might've been as much of a handful as cosmo was, but if they're meant to be opposites, wouldn't anti-cosmo be an easy baby? independent from the get-go like irep was? then it wouldn't be that they chose to stop having babies, but that they couldn't. not without their counterpart having them first

but even if this was all true, they genuinely seem to enjoy creating the chaos that they do. their intentions are always just as cartoonishly bad as we think it is

if irep wanted chaos, he could just try causing it on his own, but then jorgen would be involved if ever the wishes get too big and out of hand. could having a godchild be another loophole? "a child must always get what they want" is a legitimate rule that was able to override the other rules set, and allowed hazel to have cosmo and wanda as her godparents even if they failed the trials

if an anti-fairy had a godchild, they'll be free to cause a moderate amount of chaos whenever they want as long as it was to the whims of the child. also, it's clear irep still has issues with validation and being compared to peri, since he tears up and goes "that's all i ever wanted to hear," when dev calls him better than peri. it's funny to see irep still clings on to their rivalry when it looks like peri could care less about it anymore

buuutttt i like to think that irep genuinely wants a godchild. there's a deleted scene from the episode "oddlympics" (found it on page 5 of this script) where anti-cosmo cries over not having a godchild, which we know that fairies use to fill the "void" of not being able to have children. irep mostly takes after his father, and even from the little time we've seen with him on the same screen as his parents, it's clear that anti-wanda loves him as well. and, for all his attempts to make himself look evil and irredeemable, he was jealous of peri, who was famous and had the love and adoration of the masses for existing. he wants that for himself, too. it's why he wanted peri gone in the first place

(that info combined with peri and irep's mutual hate for theatre means that fairies and anti-fairies may still share some similarities not reliant on their innate link to each other)

so, imo, it's not a stretch to think that irep wants a kid to love and who will love him in turn, albeit in a sorta corrupt way. it would be an interesting twist too!!

all-in-all, i'm excited for what the show will have in store for peri, irep, and dev. i expect a silly episode where peri and irep go head-to-head with granting dev's wishes, and i'm hoping for an ep that shows irep and his anti-parents

Darren Criss and Helen J. Shen Talk Finding Their ‘Maybe Happy Ending’ on Broadway: ‘It’s a Really Charming, Kind Little World’

It’s best to let Darren Criss describe the simply complex story of Maybe Happy Ending, the new musical he co-stars in with Broadway newcomer Helen J. Shen. “There’s what the story is and then there’s what the show is about,” the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning singer/actor/songwriter tells Billboard in an interview you can watch above.

“Those aren’t necessarily the same things,” he notes about the musical love story from Will Aronson and Hue Park, in which the former Glee star and Shen appear as obsolete Helperbot robots who meet cute and fall in love. “Thematically, it’s about two elderly people in hospice who decide to break out of the situation to go connect with their family,” says Criss about what sounds like a potentially dark theme.

And while that “grim, depressing construct for a show” doesn’t sound like the stuff of uplifting Broadway magic, Criss promises that the musical’s creators have somehow morphed that idea about the chilly march of time and hard lessons about love and life into a “really charming, kind little world” filled with Helper robots who are living embodiments of our iPhones and other digital assistants.

Because many of us imbue our inanimate digital devices with human-like qualities, sometimes holding on to them well past their best-by use date, Criss says the musical asks what happens when those objects become more like us?

Shen makes her Broadway debut in the play alongside theater/TV/movie veteran Criss, 37, after turning heads last year in the ensemble of the Off Broadway musical Teeth. She says one of the most exciting parts of performing in the show is the chance to take the lead in a completely new piece of theater not based on any existing intellectual property or a reboot/revival, but something that theatergoers have never seen before.

“It’s super overwhelming. The idea of it has been something that I’ve dreamed about my whole life,” says Shen, 24 of originating a character on Broadway. “And to have it come to fruition with this particular story, with this particular group of people I just feel… abundance. I feel so lucky and grateful.”

Both say they feel really blessed to be part of the show, with Criss noting that he has typically starred in “iconic” roles in his previous Broadway runs, including as Harry Potter in A Very Potter Musical, J. Pierrpont Finch in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors and Hedwig in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, among others. “These are things people know and love,” he says of those classics.

“[Which] were great, with or without me. I now go in there trying to do my own thing and make it my own and there’s the excitement of the challenge, but also the pressure of living up to a certain thing and wanting to do your own thing,” he adds about trying to find something of yourself in a well-known role people may have seen many other times with other performers. “Whereas this, it’s an open canvas, not only for us, but for the audience. They don’t have any preconceived notions. That’s the best thing about this.”

Because it is a new experience, audiences don’t know what to expect, which both actors say makes attendees really listen and sit up in their seats to take in all the nuance of the show that also heralds the Broadway debuts for creators Aronson and Park; it began its life on stage in Seoul, South Korea in 2016 and was later produced in Japan and China as well.

Maybe Happy Ending, directed by Michael Arden (Parade), is open now at the Belasco Theatre on Broadway.

Just watched Act 2.

I am not okay.

In episode 4 I was like: Man the fanfiction writers where right about Caitlyn and Maddie, lol. And again I'm confused by how much time exactly passed between act 1 and 2. A month? Two? JUST GIVE ME ONE LINE SAYING IT! Also Sevika trying to rally Jinxes and fireflights together with Jinx not wanting to, awesome. Generally Isha and Jinx together are just adorable.

Episode 5: EMO VI. Also the dude (Loris) being at her side until Vi pushes him away. Then Jinx picking up Vi to look for Vander AND THE FLASHBACK OF VANDER WITH SILCO AND THE MOM!!!! And then I was just like, ok, so in the unexplained timespan Salo went down all the way to Victor, got healed, and became his helper and went to get more Hexgems. Accidentally freeing Jayce from wherever he was inside the Arcane just to get smushed with his hammer. Like, okay he was an annoying councilor, but give him some rest he was just on a quest for your jesus boyfriend. (WHERE'S OUR BOY EKKO AND HEIMERDINGER????)

And then we got ep 6: VIKTOR WITH HIS LONG HAIR! AND HE'S EVEN MORE JESUS NOW!!! AND HE'S STILL WEARING THE BLANKET JAYCE GAVE HIM!!!! Also Jinx calling him a fortune cookie, lmao. And again I'm not sure how long they were down there, but it looked like they got quite comfortable. Having fresh water and an abundance of fruit must be great for them. Except Ambessa has to screw it up of course. Also Singed (his reaction to Viktor is just advising him on his cult, lol), but mostly Ambessa. And Cait still got (some) morals left! And she teams up with VI, yay!

JAYCE WHAT ARE YOU DOING??? What happened to you inside the Arcane??? And Omg, is the screw that Victor has with him the one from season 1 act 1 or is that just me?

"Turmeric? Really?!"

Tala laughed at the disbelieving tone. "That's what I said! But Lila was so insistent" --a small huff as she settled the lean-to frame together-- "I gave it a try, and damned if it wasn't delicious, even as the last thing you'd expect-"

"In a dessert," Gale finished with her, skepticism still plain on his face. He fussed with his own tent a moment longer. "I will admit, the thought wouldn't have occurred to me."

"Something about the way it interacts with the other flavors," she said, lashing the lean-to securely. The weather was pleasant; this would serve for tonight. "The earthiness enhances them, I suppose."

"No, I know how turmeric works," he said, settling his pack in his tent and kneeling to dig through the communal supplies for dinner ingredients. "I'd think it would be overpowering to everything else in a dish as small as a pie."

"I'm not saying chuck in a handful of it, Gale," Tala chuckled. She dipped her head toward the foodstuff he was gathering in silent inquiry if he wanted help, moved to do so when he nodded. "It's a tiny little pinch added to the filling before you even mix in the fruit."

"Next time I've the opportunity to make that particular pie, I'll give it a chance. Always good to be a bit adventurous, ey?"

"Almost always, at least." She glanced over at Wyll and Bottlen, still nursing some bruises from testing that adage earlier, then down at the growing pile of tubers between them. "What are we making for dinner?"

"Potato soup." Gale passed her a knife. "We have an abundance of the hearty fellows, and some are not much longer for the world. So rather than them go to waste, we have soup. Despite lacking some of the herbs I prefer to include, it will still be a filling--hopefully delicious--meal."

"I'm sure, all your cooking's been delicious so far." Tala hefted one of the larger potatoes, though in her hand it looked rather average. "Skin off or on after we wash them?"

"On, of course." He plunged several of the potatoes into the bucket of water someone had left while they were preoccupied discussing desserts. "Adds flavor."

"Oh, I'm of the same mind," she grinned following suit with the rest of the potatoes. "But I know some who peel them so it looks nicer, or they don't care for the texture. I didn't want to get halfway through cutting one up and find it should've been peeled first."

"A valid concern with all the cooking methods out there. Smart to check." Gale piled the clean potatoes on the rock between them. "D'you mind terribly if I work on the base while you cut these?" He swiveled one hand in a gesture at their companions. "We've a lot of mouths to feed, and some are less... patient about it than others."

Tala snickered. Is this where I make a joke about Halsin being a bear when he's hungry? "Not at all. Potato dicing happens to be my specialty."

That startled a laugh from Gale as he rummaged for other ingredients. "Do tell."

"Fastest and best at the orphanage," she said. She dragged over a smaller stewpot and set to work as she talked. "We took turn with the chores; rotating assignments by dormitories. Kitchen duty was always my favorite." Even if it had occasionally meant being pelted with eggshells or potato peels alongside muttered comments about her heritage. "The cook saw me watching him prep dinner and asked if I'd like to help so I could learn. No one else liked all the chopping so they let me have it whenever it was our turn there."

"And a chef was born?" Gale asked dryly, starting the base ingredients at a simmer.

"Hardly," Tala snorted. The potatoes were half-done, pile dwindling under her skilled hands even while she spoke. "I was in my teens before the cook took me as a more permanent helper, seeing as I enjoyed it so much, and even then... cooking for an orphanage and temple is usually simple fare that's easy to make in bulk. Potato soup, venison stew, roast boar on occasion. My travels haven't afforded much chance to learn fancier or more specialized dishes."

It was only sort-of untrue; the couple times she'd tried to get work at a tavern, they'd wanted her as muscle, not cook. She hadn't wanted to mire herself down for that.

Gale was watching her like he heard the part she hadn't explained. (Thanks to the tadpoles, maybe he had. She kept forgetting about the squirmy little buggers.) "Well, lucky for you," he began, giving the soup base a stir as the simmering picked up, "I happen to have a vast repertoire of recipes, and I'm more than happy to impart my wisdom to a willing mind."

"That part I knew," she teased. With the potatoes all cut, she hefted the stewpot. "And I would love to learn any you care to pass along." A pause. "Soon as we have a better selection of ingredients."

"Oh, pish." He stepped back to let her add the potatoes to the main pot. "There's at least four things I can show you with what we have."

"Alright, now I'm intrigued." She set the pot down and wiped her hand on her trousers. "Considering we didn't even have everything for the soup tonight."

"Adding a couple more herbs if I had my druthers is not to say our stocks are severely lacking," He waved away her droll words with a smile. "I'll show you tomorrow. Do you enjoy roast duck?"

"Who doesn't?" Tala rejoined, propping her chin on her palm to watch him with her job done.

"I knew there was a reason I got along with you." Gale's smile widened. "I'll show you how to prepare one that puts Audrine's to shame."

"Never eaten there, so I'll take your word both that it's an impressive feat and that you can do it."

"No?" He cocked his head. "But I thought you said you passed through..."

"Like most... upper-crust establishments, they weren't overly enthused about serving someone like me," she said with a shrug and sardonic--tusky--grin. "By which, of course, I mean a dusty, travel-stained cleric with more enthusiasm than coin."

Gale's brows twitched briefly toward furrowing before he--as she hoped--let it lie. "Well, you won't need to after I confer this knowledge upon you. For now, however, could you fetch some parsley, please?"

"Of course." Tala swiveled to root through pockets for the herb, tone completely innocent as she added, "Would you like some turmeric as well?"

"Very funny," he drawled. "And no, thank you. Just the parsley."

She handed it over and settled back in to resume watching. "What other sorts of things do you know how to make?"

Gale chuckled. "Do you want them alphabetically or categorized by course?"

Oh, that was promising. Tala grinned. "Surprise me."
