||Dark twins: rebirth||
@the-archetype-of-civilization
The sound of beeping was heard in a sealed off room, a lower light seen as well showing someone resting on a table like bed. They seem to have been put to sleep for a while now but someone else was watching over them during this time. Given the situation of being locked down here. For now, the other named Hanoka remains guarding but hopes the other wakes up soon.

deep in my lads brainrot & i randomly decided to watch some things in japanese because i really like the voice actors and know a little bit of japanese . just for the hell of it. "lets see how different the localization is" i said. and OMG im just rewatching the sea of golden sand and
you know how amund is going "your quintessence" this "your quintessence" that? so respectful and everything?
NONE OF THAT IN JAPANESE. BRO IS SO RUDE AND PATRONIZING TO RAFAYEL LIKE ACTUALLY LOOKS DOWN ON HIM, even the voice is reflecting this. in english you'd think he's a subject wanting the best for his sea god but the japanese amund uses "omae" when addressing rafayel, which is SO RUDE. there are like, quite a lot of ways to say "you" in japanese and this is like at the top of the list of no-no. it's overly familiar and informal if its not rude. this is NOT the way to address someone you respect or see on a higher position than yourself. the suffixes of respect are also missing, there is no keigo (honorfic speech). he truly talks from the place of an angered "elder".
speaking of pronouns, rafayel never addresses the mc as "your highness" like he does it over and over again in the english dub. he says "kimi", which is a casual and often used towards someone of equal or lower status, commonly by males towards females.
and "your quintessence is not one to hesitate" in the english dub is actually "the old you wouldn't have hesitated like this" in japanese. which could mean nothing.
"you no longer need to play the suitor" in english is "the act of repaying the debt/returning the favor ends here" -- which i believe references rafayel should be done with repaying his debt to the mc for setting him free
while they're riding the camels and rafayel asks if she knows why the sea god "died", he says "(ningen ni damasareta) and got his heart stolen" . from what i know and correct me if im wrong, japanese doesn't always explicitly differentiate between singular and plural, so, The phrase "ningen ni damasareta" (人間に騙された) can mean either "tricked by a human" or "tricked by humans" in general, depending on the context. which also. could mean nothing.
"it's lemuria's history and the sea god's prophecy" which rafayel says about the tome is actually "These are the prophecies of past sea gods of/concerning/about lemuria" -- insinuating there are actually a lot of prophecies in the tome
"prophecies are but delusions. they are not reality" is "Prophecies are nothing more than nonsense born from people's dreams. You mustn’t believe in them." -- like, it's such a big difference and has so many layers to it.
"you've thought about it then? i may actually take your heart" is "have you thought about it carefully? Someday I might rip out your heart" which is. AAAAAA . SO BRUTAL???? THEY TONED IT DOWN.
"we'll head to whalefall city" becomes "You said you wanted to see the sea, didn’t you? Let’s go look for [geirakutou] together." WHICH INSINUATES THEY'RE ACTIVELY SEARCHING FOR THIS PLACE LIKE EL DORADO AND NOT HEADING STRAIGHT THERE. Geirakutou likely means "falling island" or "island of descent" if its like 下落 (geiraku): decline, fall, or drop and 島 (tou): Island.
edit: the "bond" between them in english is [keiyaku] -- which means "contract", which is naturally binding yes, but doesn't really insinuate anything emotional like "bond" does. its transactional
I wish I could have access to the japanese transcript of written text so I could look for more little nuggets like this but alas im listening to japanese dub and english sub so all i have are spoken lines 😭 anyway let me know if im wrong somewhere or you want me to do this for other cards/myths??? because this is SO FASCINATING. so much is missing from english localization, i wish i knew chinese so i could look better into it AHHH

Hidden Away Au:
A Sonadow and Metamy au Where Shadow is Amy's Bio father

Side Character Sheets:
Wachowski Family [Complete]

Robotnik Family [Incomplete]
Adult Metamy character Sheet:
[Incomplete]
Dark Rider Motorbike design:
[Incomplete]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rough Au Explanation:
Shadow[19 y/o] wakes up in an abandoned G.U.N military base after being in chronostasis for 50 years after Maria's death. While attempting to escape said abandoned military base he finds a motorbike labeled as Dark Rider. After attempting to teach himself how to drive the bike he uses the motorbike to escape the base and the city[The city is really cyberpunk, picture a cooler toned and more lively New Yoke kinda area with clear hollywood inspo thrown in there. Eggman runs and owns all the casinos btw ;3]. Just outside of the city the old motorbike breaks down after sitting for so long, and Shadow is forced to go to a small rustic looking repair shop, Where he meets the 'owner' of the shop, Sonic[18 y/o]! He gets his bike fixed for free, bc Sonic got a big old crush on Shadow the moment he saw him, And ends up coming back there every so often when he needs a place to stay or some food. 2 years later, Shadow breaks into a G.U.N base to find some answers about what actually happened to Maria when he finds a small pink baby hedgehog in a Oh So familiar test tube, near some files stating that his DNA was used to create this little thing. He ends up panicking when he hears G.U.N soldiers coming and breaks the test tube taking the little hedgehog with him. In the dead of night in the middle of a rain storm, Shadow takes the little hedgehog with him to hide out at Sonic's shop. Since Sonic's little repair shop is legally owned by The Eggman, it's one of the least likely places for G.U.N to look for them. So poor Sonic wakes up to Shadow yelling at his door at 1 in the morning with a baby hedgehog tucked in his arms. Shadow comes up with a vague story to tell Sonic, to prevent him from finding out he's an experiment, about him "running away with his daughter from his abusive ex, who's trying to kill them after he tried to break up with her for cheating on him" [He does confirm that the kid is his kid in his story] Sonic lets them in and takes them to the second floor of the repair shop where his living area is. He wraps Shadow and Amy up in a couple towels before running off to buy baby formula and diapers. Once he comes back he makes a bottle for Amy since she had started crying from the cold rain. Sonic sits next to Shadow on the couch while handing him the bottle to feed Amy. After Amy stopped crying and falls asleep, Shadow ends up falling asleep as well, resting his head on Sonic's shoulder.
And That's all I got at the moment. lmao-
✧ What Are the Platonic Solids?
The Foundations of Sacred Geometry
Platonic Solids are among the most revered and significant shapes. These five perfect polyhedra not only serve as the building blocks for understanding the geometric framework of the universe but also embody deep metaphysical principles that link the material and spiritual worlds. Known to philosophers, mathematicians, and mystics alike, these solids symbolize a profound connection between form, function, and the very fabric of existence.
What are the Platonic Solids?
A Platonic Solid is a three-dimensional shape that exhibits two defining characteristics:
Identical Faces: All faces of the shape are congruent, regular polygons.
Identical Angles and Edges: All the edges and angles of the polygons are equal.
In addition to this geometrical perfection, Platonic Solids share the remarkable trait that the same number of faces meet at each vertex. The harmony between these properties makes them unique, and only five solids meet these criteria. These five solids are:
Tetrahedron – 4 triangular faces
Cube (Hexahedron) – 6 square faces
Octahedron – 8 triangular faces
Dodecahedron – 12 pentagonal faces
Icosahedron – 20 triangular faces
The Role of the Platonic Solids in the Cosmos
These solids are not only geometrically important but were also infused with profound symbolism by ancient thinkers. The most significant influence comes from Plato, the Greek philosopher who first associated these shapes with the classical elements of Earth, Water, Air, Fire, and Aether. In his dialogue Timaeus, Plato posits that the elements of the physical world are composed of these perfect shapes, each associated with a different fundamental force or substance. Plato’s integration of geometry and cosmology would have far-reaching effects on subsequent philosophical and spiritual systems.
The Platonic Solids and their elemental associations are:
Tetrahedron – Fire
Cube (Hexahedron) – Earth
Octahedron – Air
Dodecahedron – Aether (Spirit)
Icosahedron – Water
Plato believed that these shapes represented the foundational substances from which all physical reality is derived. According to him, the Tetrahedron’s sharp edges were suited to represent Fire, the Cube’s stability mirrored the solid, grounded nature of Earth, and the Icosahedron’s fluidity corresponded to Water. The Octahedron, with its balanced symmetry, represented the breath of life, Air, while the Dodecahedron, with its celestial geometry, symbolized the etheric substance that filled the heavens.
Beyond Plato: The Platonic Solids in Ancient Mysticism
While Plato may have first outlined the connections between the Platonic Solids and the elements, the belief in their metaphysical properties goes back much further. The Pythagoreans, a religious and philosophical school that preceded Plato, already recognized the mystical importance of geometry and numbers in the divine order. The Pythagoreans believed that mathematics and geometry were not just tools for understanding the physical world but were the very means by which the cosmos expressed harmony and order.
The Platonic Solids also had an important role in alchemy, theosophy, and other esoteric systems. Alchemists used these shapes in their pursuit of transmutation and spiritual transformation, believing that by understanding the geometry of the elements, they could unlock hidden truths about the soul and the universe. For example, the Dodecahedron, often referred to as the "heavenly" shape, was associated with the fifth element—the Aether—and was believed to be the shape that structured the cosmos. It was the geometric representation of the heavens themselves, the divine ether from which all things emanated.
In the context of Kabbalah, the Platonic Solids are also integrated into the teachings of sacred geometry. The Tree of Life, which serves as the primary symbol in Kabbalistic teachings, can be thought of as a geometric model composed of spheres, lines, and, notably, polyhedral shapes that mirror the Platonic Solids. These solids reflect the interaction between the spiritual and material worlds, with each solid representing a particular level of consciousness or divine emanation.
The Platonic Solids as "Sacred" Geometry
The term Sacred Geometry refers to the use of geometric shapes and proportions to symbolize spiritual truths. The Platonic Solids are considered "sacred" because of their mathematical perfection and their association with cosmic principles. In a world full of imperfect, irregular forms, the Platonic Solids stand as idealized representations of divine order.
These shapes are also seen as fundamental archetypes that govern the physical and metaphysical realms. The belief that all matter and energy are derived from geometric patterns or forms is deeply rooted in many mystical and philosophical traditions. Modern-day spiritual practitioners continue to use the Platonic Solids in meditation, visualizations, and other metaphysical practices to align with divine proportions and cultivate harmony.
Why Are These Shapes So Important?
The symmetry and mathematical precision of the Platonic Solids point to an underlying principle of cosmic order. They represent the divine blueprint that structures the universe, offering a glimpse into how geometry reflects the divine laws that govern creation. The fact that these shapes are perfectly balanced—with equal faces, edges, and angles—symbolizes harmony and unity.
Moreover, each Platonic Solid corresponds to different aspects of human experience. For example, the Cube reflects the grounded and material aspects of existence, while the Icosahedron reflects the fluidity and adaptability of the emotional world. The Dodecahedron, as the most complex and spiritually significant, represents the connection between the physical and spiritual realms.
By studying the Platonic Solids, one begins to understand how the physical world and spiritual principles intertwine, making them essential for anyone interested in sacred geometry and its relationship to universal laws.
