This is a really Niche and Nerdly post, BUT:

So in Age of Sigmar there are these guys called The Stormcast Eternals, who are mortals chosen by Sigmar(a mashup of Zeus, Odin, Thor, and Heracles) to be his soldiers(they're the setting's Spess Marins), and they're 'Eternals' because, everytime they die, they're "Reforged"(reincarnated and re-embodied) to continue fighting. But they have this plotline that the "Reforging" isn't perfect so a little piece of their souls are "winnowed" off everytime they die and they make a big angsty deal out of it and I'm like:

This sounds like a kickback to me.

For context: there's a Death God in this setting named Nagash, and his primary personality traits are 1)He's a Tyrant, 2)He's a Jerk, and 3)He Betrays Everyone at Every Opportunity. And GW makes the whole Reforging thing a Beef btwn Sigmar and Nagash like "you're stealing those souls they belong to me!" But you don't need to do that cuz Look at Who Nagash Is. Like: you could just have it be that the Winnowing is Nagash's cut, the tax he asked Sigmar to pay to keep using these souls, and Nagash remains an enemy after the deal anyway because he's just incapable of being chill or trustworthy about anything at all to anyone at anytime.

I’d like to get a resin doll for my collection someday, and I currently have my eye on Luts’ “Juniper” model.

I’m going to get her with the wig and eyes she has in her promo photos, given that I fell in love with her at first sight. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like they have the “Empire” set she’s shown wearing here in stock.

I do think she’d look stunning in some of the black formal dress sets Luts has in their store. Her red wig and blue eyes would really pop against a black outfit, so I’ve got my eye on the black version of the “La Grenadine” set. I’d like to get her a formal black dress and something else a little more casual, but once Luts has more suits for their Senior Delf line in stock I’d also like to find her some more masculine formalwear sets like her “Empire” suit, too.

I really like her faceup because while she’s still “cute” because of her big eyes, her dark lipstick gives her a more mature, sophisticated look than some of the other Senior Delf gals. I also like face sculpts that give a doll a little more unique personality than the popular wide-eyed ingenue look you see on a lot of higher-end bjds. I’m a big fan of the slight smirk playing on Juniper’s lips. It gives her this air of knowing something you don’t, but with a sense of witty playfulness instead of arrogance or malice. Juniper also has a bigger, longer nose than the button noses I usually see on more feminine bjds, making her stand out a lot more in profile.

Luts has some really pretty “mature” face sculpts for both their masculine & feminine dolls, especially the gals in their Senior65 line and the guys in their Super and Royal Senior lines, and it’s nice to see dolls that look like adult women who aren’t Barbie or her various imitators or weird ad listings on Amazon.

I’d like to get some wigs of varying length in the same “Velvet Red” color as her promo pic wig to give her other looks along the feminine/masculine spectrum. Her lipstick + a short wig with tousled bangs and a suit would make for a wonderfully polished formal futch look, and a shoulder-length wig with bangs would look amazing with the beret for the casual outfit set that I’m considering getting for her.

I do have other socials. I just prefer to not link them to each other. I’m currently only yapping on Tumblr because Twitter is unusable. I might make a Bluesky in the future so I can go back to hobbyposting and getting into fights over Fire Emblem though. I definitely miss making unhinged tweets about my blorbos.

If I make Sukugo related content it’s going to all be on here for now.

omg Redditor???

YES! you won't catch me dead discussing any sort of media or politics on reddit but I love it for stuff like. cooking subs. fitness. various hobbyposting etc. I also get sports news on there and sometimes the comment sections on those are hilarious but sometimes it's the worst thing on earth. but it has trained me to look away! from bad internet opinions in a way that tumblr could never hope to achieve. I modded a couple decently big subs over the years and I used to get the most unhinged DMs there

I genuinely like reddit because I think it's like sitting at a table in a cafè and overhearing randos' conversations in terms of getting the pulse of what people outside your circles think about various stuff. BUT. I AM irrationally peeved whenever all the r/soccer dudes still think I must be a man. even though my account has a blatantly obvious female usernames and she/her in the user description.

While I do maintain that tumblr is probably the best platform for various hobbyposting, I do wish I had the ability to insert code blocks (and by insert I mean I wish there was formatting for it). It would make posting various tech thoughts and theme fixes so much easier, especially for small theme fixes/changes

Paintbrush, Plasglue, and Holy Clippers: Skeletons Part 2

The four skeletons left -The two with swords(Soldiers) and two with picks(Miners)- had some significant bends I needed to fix with the Hot Water Cold Water treatment I described in the Elf posts and, while I was at it, I decided to change their poses up a bit too

... Unfortunately I only took before and after pics for the Soldiers XD so here ya go

I decided to paint them up in 4 colors: Skeleton Horde and Aggaros Dunes from Citadel, and Pallid Bone and Howling Sand from Army Painter SPs

Then I washed the Miners in Earthshade and the Soldiers in Sepia

The darker ones here are the Earthshade, and the lighter the Sepia. I loved how all of these looked. The Dunes/Earthshade one in particular created a VERY grungy, crawled-out-of-the-earth look that I really enjoyed, tho the Howling Sand/Earthshade was a wonderful Bleached-Bone look in its own right with excellent, dark recesses. One thing to note here: the Howling Sand applied rather goopily and needed a bit more attention to spread evenly, but it dried into a wonderful finish and makes an excellent ivory color for this range of paints, imo. Between Skeleton Horde and Pallid Bone I prefer PB? It's got a bit stronger color and applies more evenly, and Skeleton Horde has a very subtle yellowish or olive hue to it that I just personally think isn't AS GOOD for bone as Pallid is? It's still a good color tho, it creates stronger shadows in the recesses, and I felt it worked better with Sepia than PB did, so I think they're close enough that it's really a matter of preference(also: I'd like to try a different shade on PB in the future).

Next I painted their Clothes and Weapons

Unfortunately these were the only process pics I took during this step X| I used AP's Ruddy Fur for the Miners' Gloves and Boots, and the Soldiers' Pants and pauldrons, and Noble Skin for the Soldiers' Boots. I painted the Pickheads in Val Black and the pickhead "ring" in a rust-mixture I made from Vallejo Red and Flat Yellow(which clarification: is ALSO the Vallejo Yellow I used for Champ's shield. I think I just called it 'yellow' in the last post; I'll go back and edit it correct). The Red was MUCH stronger than the yellow, so it was something like a 1-to-4 mixture, tho I didn't write it down X| X| I then used this mixture to stipple rust spots onto the Picks. I painted one of the Soldiers' swords the same way, and the other as I painted Champ's(Val Green-Black, stippled with Gauss Blaster Green). I painted the Soldiers' chestplates and chainmail, and the miners' helmets, with the same black&rust undercoat, and the belts with APSP Gravelord Grey.

I'm not terribly happy with the Miners' pants. I wanted a denimy base color that I'd then try to look faded and grimy with shades, but my initial approach just didn't work out. I didn't record it fully but I think I used Beowulf Blue shaded with citadel Tyran Blueshade, and then tried applying a shading of Mummified Grime(also a Speedpaint) thinned with speedpaint medium, but it just made the pants Shiny >:T >:T >:T On the same trip I picked up the Rigor Mortis for Wight's flesh, I picked up APSP Tyrian Navy as well, and used that to paint the Miners' shirt; it was a much better denim blue. The metallic details(belt buckles and shoulder-spikes and such) I painted in Broadsword Silver, then I drybrushed Broadsword Silver on the black-and-rust "Iron" undercoats, and Evil Chrome on the "Bronze" Soldier's sword.

After that I painted their bases using the method detailed in Pt1, varnished, glued em up, and that was that! Overall I enjoyed this project but it didn't really answer my question of "what is the BEST way to paint skeletons :? :?" since, unfortunately, I liked ALL of these ways XD It just really comes down to preference and what effect you're looking for :T :T Truly: Bonetones are a Land of Contrasts u_u u_u u_u

you can never be late for hobbyposting, it's always a relevant topic <3 i feel like roman's defining quality is sending his scores to boast only to find out that someone is better than him. shiv always beats him, kendall beats him occasionally but connor never does, but he's just happy to see his siblings doing well. you made me chuckle with the rting e-girl thirst traps so it's of course immediately true <3 also yeah a pirate radio that he quit bc no one listened to it? absolutely, i'll add that into my belief system

Obviously I recommend buying the book to support the author, but for those who cannot realistically do that, there is also an online version on the internet archive.

This gardening classic was first published in 1975, and now a second generation of gardeners who prefer pest-resistant planning to chemicals will find a place for it on the shelves. Not only does it tell what to plant with what, but also how to use herbal sprays to control insects, what wild plants to encourage in the garden, how to grow fruit and nut trees, how to start small plots or window-box gardens, and much more. It's one of the most practical books around for any gardener of edibles, no matter how serious or casual!

i have been and continue to be extrememly warhammer on the brain, when i get some models painted i may perhaps post them here, also mayhaps when i live alone again i wanna try making tutorial and/or battle report videos of the gameplaying of games such as 40k, killteam, age of sigmar, aos skirmish, grimdark future, firefight, age of fantasy, aos skirmish, warmachine/hordes, star wars miniatures(2004), and any other miniature war games i may stumble across

alsoalso i wanna try printing out one of those 23-inch tall warhammer titan “minis” and when i do i wanna put pictures of The Process (and complaints of quality/print times/failed prints) here

in conclusion; hobbyposting. someone remind me to hobbyposting. when im able to do hobbying to some degree at least
