me: *after watching the new bhultra total drama video more than once* oops, i'm partially focused on total drama again.

theory time: Chris and Chef in the reboot are actually just lookalikes the showrunners hired after they couldn't get the original Chris and Chef to come back for the show.

It'd explain

why Chris has a different voice (i know it was a necessary VA change because the original VA is facing various allegations, i'm talking about in-universe)

why Chef has a different personality entirely.

why neither of them look any older despite the...*checks on my timeline guestimation post from a couple years ago* 15 year time gap (EDIT: it'd actually be 13-14 years if the reboot is set in 2022-2023, sorry), like i know Chris puts alot of money into looking the same age forever but i would've imagined Chef would've had some gray hairs by now.

"But why did Owen look the same?" you might ask, and that's a valid question with a couple of different potential answers:

Priya's dad owned an Owen bodysuit, which could've been official merch from the show in-universe given how popular it was (assuming it wasn't homemade). Wouldn't be surprised if the staff just had the suit on-hand and used it to bring more eyes to the reboot.

came up with an additional theory: the Chris lookalike is actually Topher.

Why do I think this:

1. While it's framed as him just wanting to become the new Total Drama host, Topher is shown to be obsessed with Chris to an abnormal degree. He dresses like Chris, talks like him, etc. It wouldn't be strange for his character to go the extra mile and make himself LOOK like Chris, either via makeup or facial reconstruction surgery (in fact, it could serve as a commentary for the real people that would do this). Hell, he could've even changed his surname to "McLean" if he really wanted to commit to the bit.

2. In the timeline above, we've already established that it's probably been like 13-15 years. Assuming that Topher was 16-18, he'd be somewhere between 29-33 by the time the reboot came out, which is a seemingly reasonable age to become a host at.

Anyways, this is a free idea because I think it would be both horrifying and funny.

Introducing: Dead Sunsets ship! The name ‘the Argonauts’ was decided on this poll, but I decided to call it ‘Dead Sunsets’ for various reasons.

Notes:

+ No more star, moon, sun dynamics, now it’s kings, soldiers, and poets B)

+ Both Jason and Artemis chased Jazz first, who was oblivious but once she found out, she was like ‘oh! Then we’ll all date :D?’ and Artemis and Jason looked at each other and then they all started making out. It’s true bc I was there. I was a piece of lint on their clothes.

+ Jason is 6'3", Artemis is 6'4", Jazz is 6'6". Yes, they are all freakishly tall and somehow, Jason the Lazarus-enhanced giant is the shortest.

+ Their versions of dates are going on missions, reading to or with each other, and training. Jazz also brings them out on normal dates, Artemis is the one who brings them to travel to new places (often Amazonian or historical sites), and Jason is usually the one who brings them to explore new hobbies and fun.

+ Bizarro is their shared child. He's just happy that his friends are happy :D They also have a dog (Shadow)

+ If assistant!Jazz is still a thing, I bet Artemis also tags along so now they gain an Amazon bodyguard who looms over everyone (Lex Luthor style!!). She acts as security within Jason’s gang for either Jazz or Jason. You can find out a little more about their dynamics in the assistant!Jazz AU here.

+ Together, they make a terrifying trio with low morals, extremely high brain cells, and a lot of muscle, thus creating a team that can efficiently take out anyone who stands in their way with no mercy.

+ They all think they’re the lucky ones.

listen I know it's heartbreaking that Claudia dies and it's understandable to wish she didn't, but let's please not accuse the writers of fridging her. to do so is a fundamental misunderstanding of the story and is frankly insulting to the intelligence and skill of the writers of the show.

Claudia's death, and the overwhelming grief and regret her parents experience because of it, is quite literally the point of the entire story. she dies because Anne's daughter Michele died of leukemia when she was five years old and there was nothing she or her husband could do to prevent it.

writing IWTV was how Anne coped with the unimaginable loss of a parent losing her child. she created a story about a little girl that could not die and then killed her anyway. Claudia's death is a senseless, unavoidable tragedy, just like Michele's was. the grief that haunts Louis and Lestat for the rest of their lives is the same grief that haunted Anne and her husband.

so when you're accusing people of killing Claudia off to benefit a story about two men, please remember that in real life sometimes parents lose their children. please remember Michele Rice.

she's the reason Claudia exists.

she's also the reason Claudia cannot be saved.
