You have wanted it for ages, it's finally here! The collaberative effort of LunarDusk and @goldstargloww has brought you a brand new site search function!

How does it work? Click the magnifying glass in the top bar of the page, and you'll see a field where you can enter whatever you're searching for.

Now, onto messages I am meant to convey to you, courtesy of Gold (and wildly paraphrased):

There will be bugs! LunarDusk and Gold did a lot of testing, but no plan survives first contact. If you encounter something strange, something not working, please report it either here or as an issue on github! Actually, github would be preferable, because I'm the only one with tumblr inbox access, and those two are who know what they're doing. So report it on github if you want to skip me playing messenger pigeon.

The majority of the code is all thanks to LunarDusk, who did some truly amazing work! Gold, meanwhile, did the biggest chunk of styling, for the snazzy look you see in that screenshot.

Another note: The search is not going to be updated with every page update! It may be a bit outdated at points. The dynamic duo are working on that.

And side side note, which I'm whispering to you all from the script discord: apparently, the final push to actually finish this is thanks to the overkill discord being really excited for it. So if you're from the overkill discord, you get to feel special.

Shoutout to the ISAT Script project in general, it made writing the Scriptfrin series SO MUCH EASIER

To my knowledge there hasn't been any thorough documentation of Slay the Princess' script/internal logic, which is a shame, because that would make tracking down specific lines/interactions a lot easier.

There's a few good reasons why this hasn't been done yet. Even if you decompile the game and open the various script files, all the dialogue is mixed in with the rest of the code, and organizing all the branching paths and dialogue variants is tricky…. but tbh I think it's doable?

So to demonstrate the concept, here's the script for the entire Wraith route. I chose Wraith because it's not too long or complicated of a chapter to begin with, but also has multiple voice combinations, and multiple ways to enter the route, so I could figure out how best to represent those variations (and also because I like her)

I generally kept the logical structure of the code while translating as much of the syntax as possible to be clear for a reader with no experience in reading/writing code. I also kept achievement/gallery unlocks as well as some cut lines of dialogue in there (pretty sure these got removed in the pacing patches made ~December 2023) because I thought ppl might find them interesting!

Since you’re the main isat blog I follow I’d like to ask smth! If you saw the recent isat patch notes, do you happen to know what the fixed continuity error in the twohats fight is? I had a feeling it was related to Loop saying they never beat the king but I don’t know if I’ll have time to replay the fight to compare any time soon

mentioned it to sister last night but one of the worst parts of playing isat was that as someone with a dogshit memory playing a protag with an ALSO dogshit memory. it was So Hard. loop would be like Hmmm guess you'd better find [object] and siffrin would be like does that even exist anywhere in the house and I'd just shrug and then we'd sit there in awkward silence
