Ice Age is the best found family series ever literally no other media has anything on this series and no one talks about it. I’ve just finished watching the second movie and they have ended both movies so far with the gang walking off into the sunset the point of the first movie was these three guys taking care of a kid and the end of the second movie is Sid asking Manny for a dog, Ellie calling Diego and Sid Manny’s kids, and Manny saying to Ellie “we have to be consistent with him” bc after Manny said no Sid asked Ellie for a dog and she said yes LIKE THEY ARE THE MOSR FAMILY TO EVER FAMILY WTF

Welp back to my Ice Age art I go- so here's Diego and his girlfriend Alex. If anyone asks no, I don't like any Ice Age media after the first three movies, so that means I'm also disregarding Diego's canon love interest Shira in my AU

Anyway rather than how Shira's character is a boring rehash of Diego's arc from the first movie, my OC Alex IS a long-lost member of Diego's old pack (she escaped + survived being hunted when Roshan's dad killed most of the old pack) who holds a grudge against him for betraying Soto. But hey, love works in mysterious ways as over time they'd slowly end up reconciling and growing feelings for each other.

Yes I'm also going to redo the abomination that is Sid's girlfriend in Ice Age 5 next

diego first because he is my blorbo. i swear to god, ice age was one of my main hyperfixations as a kid and this dude was a BIG reason why. i wasn't even attracted to him like a lot of allos were, he just became my Hyperfixation Character. my guy. yknow

i don't even know what to say about him because i've loved his character for so long. i love ice age for its found family themes, so i love to think about his interactions with characters like ellie and peaches. like there isn't even a lot to the ice age verse, i just love the fluffiness of the character interactions. and also the not-so-subtle gayness between diego and manny or sid 😭

but yeah. i love him :) yet another blorbo who pretends not to care about anyone or anything but would protect his family with his life hehe

sid!!! not a blorbo like diego, but i still love him. he's so silly. once again, i've loved his character for so long that idk what to say. i really liked his arc in the third movie where he's a dino mama plus how the herd shows he's a cared for and a valuable member :)
