New episodes of Invincible got Rae, Rex and Monster Girl surprisingly becoming some of my fav characters in the show

Which is funny bc I don’t even disagree with Cecil’s side, after everything the contingency plans make sense as well as the idea of working with former villains for the greater good… Yet from the Guardians perspective they’re essentially witnessing their boss torture their friend in front of them while using the creations of a now employed serial killer, so I love the focus on their growing reservations about working under him and being viewed as disposable weapons. And I like how it especially makes sense after Rae and Rex’s talk in the next episode about the lack of agency they had growing up.

really wish they'd have dived into this more bc i genuinely can't tell if mark is just watering everything down for oliver bc he's a kid or if he sincerely believes this about nolan. bc like.... that's a really significant change in mindset from the conflicted feelings he was having in episode 5 of last season

This season finale was down right insane, with them adding more layers to conquest’s character that wasn’t in the comics while still making him a serious threat was something I didn’t expect them to do. 

I was Originally going to do it with his left arm being on the front but it just didn’t look right to me. I also wanted doing different perspectives since I haven’t done those at all.

invincible didn’t do a whole lot that was innovative or interesting beyond its basic premise of superheroes aging and progressing through stages of life but one of the arcs that i do still remember fondly is the mark is convinced by a supervillain to do ecoterrorism arc and consequently decimates like all of california. i may be misremembering the details but there were definitely multiple issues of this robert kirman comic about the ethical implications of energy use and mass industrialization that his wholesome boy superhero had a whole mental breakdown over before allowing millions to die for what he saw as the good of the earth. like what if spider-man did that.

A variety of board games were played on board eighteenth century warships. Fox and Geese is a traditional game going back hundreds of years. It is played upon a cross shaped board, like this one, with a red or black draught representing the fox, and fifteen white draughts representing the geese. BIG LIKE HUUGE END OF COMIC SPOILERS

the absolute ultimate wish-fulfillment adaptation that i desire of invincible is that the show literally runs past the comics so we can see a season where terra and marky have to learn to get along and team up to literally beat some sense into their dad. the biggest thing that pissed me off about the comics was the unambiguous happy ending!! show me emperor mark being a dumbass!!!!!!!!! i want his kids to have to teach him a lesson!!!!!!!!

That Amber cameo was nice but unnecessary girl they didn't even talk about the real shit like??? They could've talked about the fact that one of them immediately started flirting with the others ex, they could've talked about how Amber always thought Eve was looking at her man and what she really thought about Mark

I doubt they have the right writers in the room for that, like to have a decent conversation between two young women who don't dissolve into a fight or get petty with each other. That's why that cafeteria scene was so unnecessary like that's not how it would go down I'm sorry 😂😂😂 not at all

William Clockwell from Invincible and Bernard Dowd from DC are both victims of being made less obnoxious than their original introduction which sucks imo. LET THE GAY PEOPLE BE OBNOXIOUS I BEG OF YOUUUUU. OK maybe it's less 'palatable' but they used to have a personality and now they're a little more meh and it's a shame. Bring back annoying gays 2025‼️‼️

I did Fall of the House of Usher last week and just did the first episode of Invincible S2, and will... Probably do The Boys S3 this week? We'll see, but there's a pattern.
