FIRST OF ALL. this was probably the funniest set of pages so far HEHEHE SO MANY OF ALPHYS’ LINES- AND WINGDING’ REACTIONS

Just 10/10, no flaw, there never is- but specifically now. SO GREAT

I think what I have to say can be best organized by general observations/commentary, then analysis on specific themes n such!

“It certainly sounded like my voice…to a certain point” Thats such an interesting and fun line, like it definitely sounds like his voice, but it didn’t sound like HIM (WINGDINGS- WINGDINGS NOOOOOO RUNN!!! RUN WHILE YOU STILL CAN- WINGDINGSSSSS)

Then the fact that Wingdings says that it “wasn’t him who hid/made the tape”, I find kinda interesting since I mean it TECHNICALLY WAS? I GUESS?? Just an interesting way of framing it to actually make sense. Or does he think he recorded it, and then someone else put it there? or maybe i’m just over analyzing this like always? lets continue.

This entire thing with Alphys’ involvement- I swear. I remember speculating about this exact thing a WHILE AGO, that Alphys being there was planned, and since Wingdings thinks it is, im assuming he’s right. Whiiiich comes with the added bonus of ME being right, so LETS GO GAMERS!

Okay…so last live reaction I remember making a big deal out of Wingdings just pawning off the souls project to Alphys and not ACTUALLY getting her involved, but this makes way more sense, and is JUICIER. The way this is all working fascinates me so much though- lemme lay out all the pieces…

…So Wingdings found a project he’s more interested in, and DECIDES HIMSELF to include Sans. This is (seemingly) out of no obligation, he just wants to. BUT he’s keeping part of it secret from him…Meanwhile, Wingdings also decides to pawn the required project off to Alphys, under the reasoning that she knows more about souls (but it’s probably also because he just does whatever he wants). This is where he also decides to include Alphys in the project he and his brother are working on, but only through a back door, in studying the thing he’s keeping secret from Sans, and ONLY BECAUSE he feels like she plays a crucial role, not just because he likes having her around…DID I GET ALL THAT? IS BROTHER PLAYING 4D CHESS, JESUS CHRIST

Then the ending just makes me giggle so much- first of all LMAO THE LITERAL STICKY-TAPE THAT FLOWEY FINDS Love how he’s just rummaging around like he owns the place.

Also YIPPEEE!!! BACK TO MY FAVORITE BOYS!!! THE ONES THAT DON’T INFURIATE ME TO NO END (in a good way) (i hate him) (/aff) (/i hate him) Also Papyrus has a point there, girl, thats tape. what do you think thats gonna do for his mind. Love the trial and error though, just throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks. Or more rather playing a good ol game of “how can I make Papyrus as uncomfortable as possible before I trigger his ptsd” FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY (when he starts having a panic attack, thats when you know you’ve won)

I also wonder what Papyrus is thinking right now 😭 like he thought he was coming down here because Flowey wanted to show him a secret, but now he’s throwing tape at his face and going “do you remember anything? are you feeling it now mr krabs?”

outside of the comic, the little note from Wingdings “* To note: She seems overly eager about this.” YEAH??? WELL YOU SEEMED PRETTY FRICKEN EAGER WHEN YOU HEARD A TAPE RECORDING OF YOUR INSANE SELF RANTING ABOUT HEAVEN AND ANGELS!!!!!!!! THAT SEEMED PRETTY ODD DIDN’T IT? BUDDY????

- ANALYSIS (things we gotta discuss more directly)

ECHO FLOWERS: So Wingdings and Alphys meet IN the echo flower room now, but…Wingdings has had them for much longer than when the comic started, clearly, so they arent there FOR them to talk in secret, im sure. Maybe during one of their meetings Alphys will ask again and get a more direct answer?He has 1 in his/Sans’ room on HIS bedside table that also looked more well taken care of, so im assuming this is strictly a him thing.

But again, a lot of them are wilting…or are they growing…? HMM……Wingdings is genetically engineering an echo flower than can mimic his voice, since they normally cant?? maybe????? that part is still up in the air. But thats my only- kind of plausible theory. I definitely think whatever the reason, it involves the fact that they record voices, since he has an only semi-recordable voice.

But if they are actually just wilting…then is that like…a metaphor for something? WHO KNOWS I’m just getting emotional thinking about him as a kid playing with Sans and doing silly experiments like that together, or him being so determined to make a flower that can echo back his own font that he sticks to the project for literally decades

HIDING IT FROM SANS???: …Well now we know what specifically he’s planning to hide from everyone….thats- thats a step in…some direction.

Wingdings seems to know/think that this whole tape thing was planned, and Alphys is a crucial player in this, so I suppose that that’s somewhat a valid reason to keep it from Sans…Like if he didnt find it with him, then clearly he’s not supposed to be involved. Which. Does not. make me feel very good. About the future of their relationship. Imna be so real.

GASTERS PLAN: involving Alphys. Hm. My theory…is that she’ll play a crucial role in the discovering of Determination, since from my memory, i’m pretty sure thats something Alphys discovered with the true lab in-game, so maybe in this timeline she rediscovers it? Since she cant remember after Wing Gaster shit? She’s researching both the time travel and human souls, so I feel it makes sense. Hypothetically she figures out that time travel is directly tied to what makes humans- human

All in all, Wingdings’ entire…everything in this makes me feel so many things. He’s kinda talking to Alphys like…a person? Its still a weird power play- but its still SOMETHING. I guess he’s just not used to making friends, so the only time he’s NOT talked to someone professionally, but just a friend, is his brother- who he’s just always considered as that for his entire life- YEAH I CAN IMAGINE THAT MAKES THINGS TOUGH.

Unpopoular opinion (?) One thing I didn't appreciate was the breakup in the background of Tim and Stephanie. Specially how it evolved, almost as if the couple never existed but they have always been friends. They never broached the topic again or they had a chance to express their feelings. I'm happy because they still very good friends, I love them, but I feel like they have "erased" their love story. Whant do you think? "Just be friends. All we gotta do. Just be friends.
