If I Never Knew You
Title: If I Never Knew You
Chapter No./One-Shot/ Drabble: One-Shot
Words: 1315
Author: Sille
AO3
Inspired by: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hoZoBsZRtE
Pairing: JaredxReader
Notes/Warnings: Angst. So much angst. You have been warned.
Summary: You have doubts about your relationship with Jared. He helps you to chase them away.
Authorâs Note: Reposting my stories from my personal blog @sille1992 . This will be the place Iâll be posting my creative outpourings.
The flat was dark when you came home from a long day at work. Nothing knew but you kind of wished that Jared would be home already. You missed him. And filming only started three weeks ago. It was just so hard to be separated from him. You got used to his presence during the hiatus and wished that he didnât have to go back.
âNothing to be done. At least he will be home for the weekend,â you said to the room as you put your bag down and hang up your jacket. Knowing that didnât make it any easier though. Jared would only be home for the next two days. Not much time for you two to spend together but you would try to use it as best as you could.
You sighed and rolled your shoulders. Today was not a good day. The work was hard. You knew working as a barrister would not be easy but you loved your job. So much that you even saved money for your own cafÊ. It was always your dream to have one of your own. Until then you were stuck working at a small cafein the city.
Today was not only busy day but to make matters worse a couple of Jaredâs fans were your customers this afternoon. At first it wasnât so bad. They talked about the recent videos of him from the San Diego Comic Con last weekend. You actually had to suppress a smirk as you heard how they swooned about him, a proud feeling making itself known in your chest. But after a while, one of the girls seemed to recognize you as his girlfriend and began talking.
It became hard to work after that. You couldnât believe what they were saying about you and your relationship with Jared. They didnât even try to whisper. They talked deliberately loud so you would hear them.
âCan you believe that someone like that is Jaredâs girlfriend?â
âI donât know what he sees in her.â
âJust look at her. They donât fit together at all.â
âHe should dump her if you asked me.â
These were not even the worst things they said. But you were stuck serving them and couldnât they anything. The customer comes first. As always.
You shook your head. No time to dwell on these girls. They donât know you or anything about your relationship with Jared. You tried to tell yourself that at least. The thoughts were stuck in your head and you couldn't get them out. These fans just voiced out loud what you asked yourself for the whole year you were dating him. Why did he choose a simple girl like you? A nobody?
You werenât able to lose the negative thoughts for the rest of the evening. Preparing dinner didnât help as was the Disney playlist you listen to on Youtube. Nothing was able to chase away the idea that you were not good enough for Jared. That he would better off with anybody else. You werenât even able to eat your meal because you lost your appetite. You just pushed the food around on your plate.
After a while, you gave up on eating altogether and left the dishes on the kitchen table. Hugging yourself you sat down on the couch in the living room, only turning the floor lamp on. Still thinking about the girls and the comments they made about you, you didnât notice the few tears that were running down your cheeks. Why was Jared together with you? What was in it for him?
You were so deep in your thoughts that you didnât hear the front door open or close. You only came aware of the other person in the flat as a pair of strong arms came up behind you and hugged you.
âHey, babeâ, you heard Jaredâs voice near your ear.
âJared,â you croaked and cleared your throat. âYou were supposed to come home tomorrow.â You winced mentally. Jared could absolutely hear that you have been crying. Your voice didnât hide anything even though you tried.
âBabe?â, he asked. âIs something wrong?â
You opened your mouth to answer but the words got stuck in your throat. So you settled for shaking your head. At least he was not able to see your voice.
âY/N. Talk to me? Please?â Jared urged you but you just shook your head again. His arms loosened their hold so he could step around the couch and kneel before you. You tried to wipe your tears away before he faced you but it was of no use. He already knew you were crying.
His hands came up to frame your voice. âY/N. What happened? Why were you crying?â he promoted you again with a soft voice.
Knew tears spilled over your cheeks as you saw the concern in his eyes. He was just too good for you. What were your doing by being with him? A sobbed escaped your mouth.
âHey, hey.â Jared tried to soothe you as he pulled you into a hug without getting up from the floor. âItâs okay. Iâm here. Itâs going to be okay.â
You sobbed into his shoulder and held on tight. Even though you knew you didnât deserve him you still werenât able to pull back from his comfort.
After a few minutes, you were able to calm down again and moved away a bit. Jared framed your face again. âWill you tell me know what happened?â You closed your eyes at his question.
âThere were some girls at the cafè today. Some fans of yours,â you began, unable to lie to him. âThey talked about me and our relationship andâŚ. Why are you with me, Jared?â
He frowned. âWhat do you mean?â
âWhy are you together with me? You could do so much better andâŚâ
âHey, stop right there!â He brought your face closer to his. âDid these girls talk shit about our relationship?â
You just nodded not able to say anything with his face so close to yours.
âIâm with you because I love you. You brighten my life every day since I met you. I canât do better. I donât want to do better because I already have the best girlfriend I could ever have.â he explained. âYou need to believe that. You need to believe in us.â
You couldn't say anything. Still in doubt about your worth in Jaredâs life. He saw the self-loathing in your eyes and without saying anything he got up and moved to your laptop. The Disney Playlist was still on. He cut the music as he searched for a specific song. You were able to identify it in the first few seconds. It was one of your favorites after all.
Jared came back to you and held out his hand for you to take. âLet me show you?â he begged. You took his hand with hesitation. Helping you up and pulling you close he moved you both to the middle of the room.
âIf I never knew youâŚâ he sang softly into your hair as he swayed you to the music.
âJared,â you started but he interrupted you.
 âShush⌠let me show you.â
He pressed your head to his chest. You were able to hear his breath as he began to sing again. Tears came to your eyes again and run down your cheeks. A warm feeling made its way from your heart through our whole body. It was a good feeling. It chased all the negative ones away.
You danced the whole song and only stopped when the next one started. Jared gave you a kiss on your hair before he pulled away.
âBelieve me know?â he asked smiling.
You were only able to return it. Standing on your toes, you placed a light kiss on his lips.
âYes. Thank you, Jared. I love you too.â
 The End.

My Angel
Pairing: Jared x daughter!Reader, the entire Supernatural Family
Word Count: 1.8k of pure angst
Warnings: ANGST. ALL THE FREAKING ANGST. swearing, childhood cancer, death of a major character
A/N: Holy shit am I sorry about this one. I actually cried multiple times whilst writing this. This is the fifth, and last fic for Angst Appreciation Day. Thank you to everyone who has stuck with me. Also HUGE shoutout to @iputthesininbuisness. They betaâd ALL of my fics for AAD and they probably hate me.
Based off of: Angel by Sarah McLachlan
x
You were surrounded by people.
Your Uncle Jensen and Aunt Danneel and their kids. Your Uncle Misha and Aunt Vicki with their kids. Your dad. Uncle Mark and Aunt Sarah with their children.
You were surrounded by people you love.
Right now, Jensen and his friend Jason Manns were singing your favorite song from their album, Simple Man.
Tears were in everyoneâs eyes including your own as you smiled softly to their melody.
Everyone knew this night wouldnât last forever, you especially. The tumor that had originated in your brain had metastasized to virtually your entire body. It was in your lungs, and bones deeming it as irreparable.
The tumor was killing you, and you were going to die.
From the day you and your father found out that the tumor had spread, the doctors had given you three months to live.
Now, exactly three months later, you were on your last night. Everyone could feel it in the air, even the children who are usually rowdy in the presence of each other were dead silent.
The entire Supernatural family was crammed into the small hospital room. They all wanted to be with you when the time finally came, lord knows you were all there for them.
âTake your time,â Jensen breathed out. He knew this line was the worst possible thing to sing in this situation, âDonât live too fast.â
The tears forming in Jensenâs eyes were becoming harder and harder to conceal as the lump in his throat made it hard to sing.
He swallowed as Jason continued strumming, âTroubles will come, and they will pass.â
Misha looked from Jared, to Jensen, to you. Jared watched you intently, the love and worry clear in his eyes. He loved you more than life itself. Misha knew it would kill his best friend when your time came. Jensen sang while Jason played the guitar. It was obvious it was hard for the both of them to not break down and cry. You were laid on your back in the small hospital bed. Jared was at your right side, holding your hand. Your head was turned to the left, your eyes focused on Jensen and Jason. A small smile was playing on your lips.
It took almost all of your strength to turn your head to the side. Jared gave you a soft smile and wiped his eyes of tears.
âI love you, Daddy,â you voice cracked from your dry throat.
The tears that Jared tried to hide came flowing back tenfold, âI love you too, baby. I always will.â
âIâm sorry, Daddy,â you whispered as tears of your own came flowing down your face.
Jared scooted closer to you, a large hand falling on your bald head, âThere is nothing you need to be sorry for, Y/N,â Jared said fiercely, âNothing at all. You are everything I couldâve asked for in a daughter, you understand? I love you more than anything else,â he said.
A tear fell from the corner of your eye, and you nodded. You gave him a weak smile, âDonât be forever alone, okay?â
Jared raised an eyebrow, âI donât know what you mean.â
You rolled your eyes, âFind someone, dad,â you said, âYouâre not getting any younger,â your voice was raspy, the strain on your vocal chords obvious. âFind yourself a hot lady friend.â
Jared huffed a laugh, âYouâre insane.â
âI wonder who I got that from.â
Jaredâs tears fell against your hospital gown as he leaned over and kissed your forehead.
âI donât want to see you for years, you understand?â
The dam broke behind Jaredâs eyes, âI donât think I can wait that long.â
Your eyelids became heavy. You knew the end was drawing near. âDaddy, Iâm scared.â
âI know, honey. I know.â
âDoes it hurt?â
Jared shook his head, âQuicker and easier than falling asleep.â
âYouâre not Sirius Black; how do you know?â
âBecause all the pain that youâre feeling now will be gone. Youâll be in your happy place. Youâll be happy.â
âBut Iâm happy here. I want to stay here with you guys.â
âI know, baby. But sometimes you need to let go,â The words Jared was saying almost killed him, but his baby girl was in pain, and she needed relief.
âI love you, Daddy,â you could feel your heart rate slowing, âI love all of you guys,â you tried to say slightly louder so everyone could hear you.
Almost everyone nodded or hummed, they heard you. They know you love them, and you know they love you.
That was all you ever wanted, so you did as your father said.
You let go.
Your body shuddered as you drew in your last breath and released it.
Jared watched as your chest fell. He was waiting for it to rise again, but it never did; it never would. The long drawn out beep from your heart monitor only confirmed his worst fears.
His baby girl was dead.
He took your small, pale hand in his much larger ones, and pressed his forehead to his knuckles as sobs wracked his body.
Danneel pressed her hand to her mouth, trying to contain her own tears. She looked over to her husband to see tears flowing down his face.
Mishaâs crestfallen face soon had his own tears sliding down to his chin, not stopping until they got to the collar of his shirt.
The entire room was in tears.
But no one more than Jared.
His entire body shook with the force of his cries.
The only thought running through his head was enough to send him through a downward spiral lasting for years:
My daughter is dead.
Jared sat at the first pew, just staring.
The service had been done with for over an hour, and everyone had left him alone.
He looked at the small casket, the memories flying around in his brain, burning him with nostalgia.
The first time Jared saw you, you were in a baby carrier on his front steps.
There was a piece of paper pinned to your shirt with a name and date scrawled across it.
âY/N Padaleckiâ it said. â07/23/02â˛
Next to your carrier was a diaper bag filled with clothes, diapers, bottles, formula, and large manila envelope.
Jared took you inside his house and set the carrier down on the kitchen island.
He opened the manila envelope, pulling out its contents.
Inside there were six things.
One, your birth certificate. Two, a paternity test proving that the child in the car seat was his. Three, a picture of the baby next to a woman that Jared vaguely remembered. Four, a letter addressed to Jared. Five, a letter addressed to Y/N Padalecki. Six, signed custody papers from a courthouse in Texas.
Jared opened the letter first. The letter described the night two people met. The two people being Jared and this mystery woman. The letter told Jared that this mystery woman stole a toothpick from Jaredâs trailer trashcan and used it later to prove Jaredâs paternity. The letter then described the predicament the babyâs mother was in. She is a drug addict and canât take care of a baby. She grew up in an orphanage, and didnât want to put her child through the same things, so she dropped the baby off on Jaredâs front step. The letter said that there was another letter with Y/Nâs name on it, and she wanted Y/N to open it when she turned 18. It was signed by a person named Becca Wilson.
Jared looked from the white college ruled paper filled with black ink, to the sleeping baby in the car seat.
Jared could see the resemblances. You had his nose and hair. Your eyes were not yet open so he couldnât see the color of your eyes.
Seconds later, your eyes fluttered open, and in an instant, Jared knew that he couldnât let you go. You had his eyes.
Jared ran a hand down his face. He never regretted his decision to take you in. You were his daughter. No matter what.
Even when you were ten, and the doctor spoke those horrible words, Jared never wanted to let you go.
The doctor knocked on the door. Jared voiced a quiet âCome in.â
Your migraines were getting worse as the days wore on, so Jared finally took you to your pediatrician.
The doctor took off his glasses and rubbed his aged face with his right hand.
âMr. Padalecki,â he said as he replaced his glasses. âY/N has a tumor in her brain.â
Jared felt the air being punched out of his gut at those words.
His baby girl had cancer.
He held you close to his chest that night as you slept. After the doctorâs appointment, and scheduling a consultation with a pediatric oncologist, you and Jared went home to watch a marathon of cheesy movies and pig out on ice cream.
That night, as he held your small frame, he cried.
He cried and prayed to a God heâs not sure he believes in to spare your life.
You were the greatest kid Jared knew, and he wasnât just saying that because you were his daughter.
You were kind and caring and compassionate. You were understanding of Jaredâs depression and helped him get through it.
He wanted to walk you down the aisle, and threaten the boys that you brought home. He wanted to protect you for the rest of his life.
Jared buried his face in his hands. âGod, Y/N,â he choked out. âIâm so sorry sweetheart. I wish I could have done more to protect you.â His voice broke and he was yet again reduced to tears.
He jumped as he felt a hand land on his back. Through tear filled eyes, he could see his best friend.
Jensen sat down next to Jared. Jaredâs body shook as a sob was ripped from his body. Without a second thought, Jensen wrapped his arms around his best friendâs neck, bringing his head to his chest, âIt's going to get better,â Jensen found it hard to speak around the lump in his throat. âI promise.â
Years after your death, Jared listened to your words, and found himself a hot lady friend.
Her name is Genevieve Cortese.
Well, Padalecki now.
Jared had three kids with her. Two boys and a little girl.
All throughout their childhood, Jaredâs kids knew about their big sister, watching them from Heaven
And when the famous actor and generous man died of old age, you jumped happily into your fatherâs arms.
âI see you took my advice,â you said with a smile.
please don't kill me

Sam or Dean?
Pairings: Jared x actress!Reader, Jensen
Word Count: 181
Warnings: fluff, itâs short, only a drabble.
A/N: This was just a little something that has been floating around in my head for a little bit. Basically just a crack fic. Enjoy!
"The question I have is actually for Y/N,â a small girl said shyly into the microphone.
You stuck your tongue out at Jared and Jensen, before turning back to the fan, âWhat is it sweetie?â
"Well, everyone knows that you are married to Jared,â cue the crowds loud cheering.
âBut who do you think is better personality wise, Sam or Dean?â Jared and Jensen both laughed heartily.
âItâs obviously me,â Jared said.
"Dean,â you answered a millisecond after Jared stopped talking.
That was the last straw for Jensen.
He found himself on the floor, shaking with laughter while the microphone rolled out of his hand.
Jared, on the other hand, looked horrified. He subconsciously loosened the grip on his microphone so it was almost falling out of his hands.
âFrom Gilmore Girls,â you finished. The whole crowd laughed and Jaredâs body sagged in relief.
Jensenâs moment of pride was distinguished and he got back up. âDamn it, I was hoping to have something over Jared.â
"In all reality, I would probably prefer Sam,â you answered the fan.

Towers
Pairings: Jared x Reader
Word Count: 1.2k
Warnings: Angst, swearing, fighting
A/N: This is my entry for @chaos-and-the-calm67âs Milestone Celebration! The song that I chose was Towers by Little Mix. Obviously, I love Jared. This is meant with no disrespect at all. Itâs just a work of fiction. This is also complete and utter shit, so I sincerely apologize for that. Iâve been having a bit of writerâs block recently and this definitely reflects that.(P.S. The rules said that you were going to send me a gif, but I never got one, so I just used my own)
x
You met the man you thought you were going to marry in a bar.
He was tall, sweet, and handsome. The two of you talked over drinks and got to know each other. Before the two of you left the bar, you had already made plans to meet up the next week for coffee.
The first date was phenomenal. As was the second. And third. And fourth. And thirtieth. Not that you were counting or anything.
On the, what, fifth date? The man took you to a bar, this time. He bought you drinks and told you about his past. How he struggled with depression and self esteem issues. In return, you told him about your own skeletons. Your abusive childhood and anxiety struggles. âWell arenât we just perfect for each other?â You raised your glass.
âTwo equally fucked up adults with alcohol. Never was there a better pair,â he clinked his glass to yours in a toast, and the two of you simultaneously tipped your drinks back.
Yeah, Jared Padalecki was the one for you.
Jared Padalecki was the one for you.
You realized that Jared Padalecki was not the one for you on January 13th. It was a Friday.
You were exhausted from your shifts at the hospital as a social worker. You took on some really tough cases that hit very close to home.
When you got home, you immediately sprinted for your favorite sweats. You were prepared to spend the weekend alone with some wine and Netflix. The perfect de-stressor after the most intense week of your life.
You had settled down with The Office on Netflix and a brand new bottle of wine when your phone started to vibrate on the coffee table. A quick glance at the clock revealed that it was just past 8, the usual time that your boyfriend, Jared, called you.
You slid the green button, holding the phone up to your ear. âHey, babe!â You greet him, trying to sound upbeat.
âHey, how are you?â Jaredâs voice filled your ears.
âIâm about ready to curl up in a ball and cry myself to sleep for the next two weeks, how about you?â You knew you sounded dramatic.
âIâm good. We got a lot of filming done today, so they let me go early,â he said. You would be lying if you said you werenât a little disappointed that he didnât ask you more about your day.
You sighed heavily, âThatâs nice, Jare,â you pick at a loose thread on your sweatpants, âLook, Iâm exhausted so Iâm just going to go to sleep. Iâll talk to you tomorrow.â
âOh,â Jared said, clearly offended, âYeah, Iâll talk to you tomorrow.â
You hung up, turned off your phone, and tossed it to the opposite side of the couch. You were in a really bad mood, and you didnât want to deal with anything.
You had just gotten settled back down when a knock sounded on your door, âJesus Christ, I do not care about your godly pamphlets,â you muttered as you walked sluggishly to your door.
You flung it open, not bothering to check who it was. âHey, baby,â Jared greeted you.
You took a step closer to him, wrapping your arms around his neck, âHey, what are you doing here?â
âI told you, filming wrapped up so they let us go early,â he said with a smile, leading you back into your apartment.
You forced a smile onto your face, âThatâs neat.â
âSure is,â Jared smirked, leaning down and peppering kisses down your neck.
You shoved him away, âJared, please stop. I donât want to tonight,â you said firmly.
Jared respected your wishes and backed off before excusing himself to go to the bathroom. You sighed as you sat down on the couch. Shouldnât you be more happy that heâs here? Excited that he came home early? You knew you should be, but you couldnât help but feel even more annoyed by his presence. You just wanted one night to relax and unwind.
A few minutes later, Jared emerged from the bathroom, âWhat are we watching?â He asked, flopping down beside you.
âI am watching The Office,â you supplied, taking a sip of your wine.
âUgh, Iâve already watched this twice,â Jared said. He took the remote right out of your hand and exited out of the Netflix program, switching to sports instead.
âUhm, excuse you?â
Jared looked at you out of the corner of his eye, âWhat? The Heat is playing tonight!â
You nearly scoffed at his feeble argument, âI was watching a show. This is my TV, my remote, my house. Change it back.â You knew it was petty, but you were in no mood to deal with it.
Jared laughed, âNo.â
Your nostrils flared and your blood boiled, âGet out.â
Jared did a double take, âWhat?â
You snatched the remote from his hand, âGet the fuck out.â
Jared rolled his eyes, âI think youâre being a little over dramatic,â Jared said, holding his hands up, âAre you on your period?â
You saw red. You stood up from your place on the couch and stomped over to Jaredâs bags. You heaved them into the hallway quickly, âWhat the hell are you doing?â Jared yelled from behind you.
âGet the hell out of my apartment!â
âYouâre kicking me out over a TV show? Thatâs kind of pathetic, Y/N,â Jared said.
You slammed the door shut; you didnât want your neighbors to hear your next words.
âNo, Jared. I am kicking you out because you donât give a fuck about me. I try to tell you how awful my week was, but you just ignore me. I try to watch some TV on a television that I pay for, but I canât even do that, and I canât even show how upset I am because apparently youâll assume that Iâm on my period!â Your voice rose in pitch until you were nearly hysterical. You took a deep breath, calming yourself slightly, âSo get out and donât come back.â
âSo thatâs it?â Jared questioned. âYouâre just going to break up with me over one stupid argument?â
You sighed, this was going to take a lot more than you expected, âNo, Jared. Iâve been feeling this way for a while now,â you said truthfully.
âWhat did I do?â Jaredâs voice was filled with hurt and anguish.
âYou know about my past. I also know about yours. I am always there to support you, but when I need some support of my own, I come up empty handed.â
Tears began to form in Jaredâs eyes, âCome on, Y/N,â he said, reaching out for you, âWe can work this out.â
Your own tears began to pool, âNo. We canât, Jared. I canât be with someone that doesnât want to support me.â
âBaby please,â Jared begged as his tears began to fall.
You shook your head vigorously, âNo, Jared. This is the end. Goodbye.â
Jared looked you in the eyes, realizing that he fucked up the best thing that heâs ever had. He grabbed his jacket from the dining chair, âCan we still be friends?â To Jared, his voice sounded pathetically desperate.
It was hard to talk around the giant lump in your throat, but you managed to get the word out, âNo.â
With that one single word that echoed in his brain and destroyed his heart, Jared Padalecki left your apartment.
Jared Padalecki never stopped believing you were the one for him.
i know itâs trash. iâm sorry.
