That was a lot of chessposting. Have some quaternion julia sets, as a treat These act as 3D slices of 4D extensions of julia sets. I believe this one is cubic in nature. To render these we use some math I dont understand from this blog to generate a distance estimator that can then be used to raymarch the sets. Raymarching is essentially marching along rays coming from the camera, only moving as far as we know we can move safely in any direction, until we hit something. Getting my arch install looking nice and pretty. Background is a quaternion julia set, and down below we have my dragon curve code that I've been working on. i really enjoy Julia but I think allowing all unicode symbols as valid symbols in scripts was a mistake. mostly because I dislike when I have to input a character that I can't specify with a chorded keypress, because that means I need to either tab complete it (just let me use the symbol name then!) or copy it from another part of the doc or from a website. i'll be chugging along writing code and then "fuck how do I enter that character". it breaks my flow!
