I admit I think he's fascinating, in part because he was raised in Indiana in the early 20th century period when literary lights including Lew "Ben Hur" Wallace and Theodore Dreiser made Indiana something of a literary center in the USA.

I think one of the many reasons that being told to vote to solve all our problems is infuriating is because like. Okay, voting is in November. So until November, I’m supposed to sit patiently while people openly and proudly threaten my community, threaten the rights of people like me, threaten the rights of others, be loud and proud about their bigotry. And I’m supposed to wait until November, and vote, and hope the party that wins will actually do something about it. And when they don’t, and these people are only more emboldened, I’m supposed to wait four more years to vote again and hope the next person does something about it. And that’s not enough for me. And it makes me so angry that we’re being told “oh, if project 2025 happens, take down your pride flags, go back in the closet, don’t hold hands with your partner, present as cisgender”, as solutions being proposed by our own damn community. I think the fuck not. I don’t think it’s fair that we’re supposed to live in fear and cower away while these assholes just. Get away with it. I am so fucking angry all the time and I genuinely feel like transphobes, homophobes, racists, Zionists, anti-abortion advocates, all those motherfuckers should be just as scared of us as they want us to be of them.

Hi, you had an anon asking about how current prison regulations are affecting trans men. Based on current anonymous reports from inside the prisons, trans men are losing access to medical care and being increasingly threatened with solitary confinement, internationally recognized as a form of torture. Many of these trans men are already held within women's prisons, so transfer is less likely but certainly not impossible if the administration decides malgendering is their preferred tactic there. I'd also recommend listening to the recent interview by Margaret Killjoy with Eric King about it on the podcast It Could Happen Here [link] which does focus primarily on trans women, but also includes a lot of ways to help trans prisoners King was incarcerated as an openly antifascist activist and helped edit a book called Rattling the Cages in 2023 [link] that details the lived experience of people behind bars. Another interview (from 2024) with him by the same person on one of her other networks can be found here [link] and includes general commentary on how to survive in prison as well as comments specific to the trans experience via people he knew and things he witnessed while there.
