Just take things at your own pace, there’s no need to rush (Patreon)
#Doodles#SCII#Helix#ZEX#Dexter Favin#Mostly spacefillers but I like them <3 Continuation!#Following up on the Dex and ZEX kiss and then Dex runs away scenario lol - one of those rare times that Dex hopes he drops it#He's not dropping it! Time to talk about this! Goes about it too excitedly and overstimulates him poor thing <3#Don't turn his head suddenly! Don't shout! Don't expect him to remember all at once! Goodness me#One step forward two steps back#The middle one lol I was thinking about tools that might help ZEX feel more comfortable engaging with the world around him#I was thinking he'd enjoy an iPad or similar device - though Helix was published before the first iPad came out! :0 Hmm hmm#But anyway - that he'd enjoy a touch screen and getting to use one with his hands :) Either playing tactical games or just looking up facts#Gets one of those 3D solar system model apps and zooms in and out - very distressed when it doesn't go farther than Pluto :(#I've also been thinking about ZEX's ability to read I keep going back and forth on it I can't decide ahhh#He loves humans but would he have studied English specifically?? It's pretty different from VUK ZIX#Does the Captain speak English? Have any of the human languages survived in the same form that we currently speak???#But he's also incredibly intelligent and interested in humans - weeb equivalence of learning Japanese to read untranslated manga lol#I can't deciiiidee urrggghhh#The rest are age comparisons haha#Dexter was probably at least of legal employment age when he started working for the Vyers when Max was 16 if I remember right?#Unless Dex was one of those family-employment situations of like - when rich people have caretakers that are close to their child's age?#Is that still a thing lol hired playmates#And then ''At least 10 years younger'' might be a slightly high estimate lol but ZEX is definitely older than DAX#Odd to be put in such a young body! Oddly feels more out of shape than his VUX body (lol)#With how much he's gone through even without literally being older he's definitely ages years in such a short time#Especially to be younger than his DAX-equivalent that'd have to feel weird#Has difficulty saying ''me'' when referring to the body he's in :(#Just one more oddity of this human experience

hii! how did you learn english?
hello <3 so when i was at 5th grade (so like i was 10 or so) english started being a subject in schools and it was pretty much until my 12th grade (17yo), so i have some basis coming from there
but honestly, i used to watch my older brother play lots of game and all of them were in english (and my brother wasnt the nicest so i was forced to learn a bit if i wanted to know the story lol). that and the fact that i love movies and in my country only the cartoons are dub, every time i watch a movie or so it was in english, and since i am a slow reader (even w sub) i tried to catch some sentences and expressions here and there (also watching international youtubers !!)
so all of that combined made me understand english. and then i went to university and i major in english studies (and since we had ppl from all over europe our classes were 90% in eng) which solidified everything :3

Just gonna add LingoLegend makes language learning more of a game where you can get energy to basically play Farmville or go on adventures. Languages: Spanish, French, Mandarin, Korean, Japanese, Italian, German, Portuguese, Dutch, or Russian
Duolingo Sucks, Now What?: A Guide
Now that the quality of Duolingo has fallen (even more) due to AI and people are more willing to make the jump here are just some alternative apps and what languages they have:
"I just want an identical experience to DL"
Busuu (Languages: Spanish, Japanese, French, English, German, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Polish, Turkish, Russian, Arabic, Korean)
"I want a good audio-based app"
Language Transfer (Languages: French, Swahili, Italian, Greek, German, Turkish, Arabic, Spanish, English for Spanish Speakers)
"I want a good audio-based app and money's no object"
Pimsleur (Literally so many languages)
Glossika (Also a lot of languages, but minority languages are free)
*anecdote: I borrowed my brother's Japanese Pimsleur CD as a kid and I still remember how to say the weather is nice over a decade later. You can find the CDs at libraries and "other" places I'm sure.
"I have a pretty neat library card"
Mango (Languages: So many and all endangered/Indigenous courses are free even if you don't have a library that has a partnership with Mango)
"I want SRS flashcards and have an android"
AnkiDroid: (Theoretically all languages, pre-made decks can be found easily)
"I want SRS flashcards and I have an iphone"
AnkiApp: It's almost as good as AnkiDroid and free compared to the official Anki app for iphone
"I don't mind ads and just want to learn Korean"
lingory
"I want an app made for Mandarin that's BETTER than DL and has multiple languages to learn Mandarin in"
ChineseSkill (You can use their older version of the course for free)
"I don't like any of these apps you mentioned already, give me one more"
Bunpo: (Languages: Japanese, Spanish, French, German, Korean, and Mandarin)

I got an email about my anniversary with Duolingo. I’ve been off and on (mostly on) it for 7 years. That’s a long time. I’m trying to keep the streak I have now. If I had started the streak when I started Duolingo, it would have been cool to see. I don’t think they were keeping track of it back then. It’s changed a lot. I hope to get to more languages soon. Spanish is really structured/long and I’m not sure how much I have left of the course. Other language courses aren’t nearly as long. The interesting thing is some courses are constantly evolving and they add more to them. There are also new language courses being made that pop up every so often. Sometimes I like it a lot, and sometimes I just want to take a break for a while. Streak freezes have helped a bit with that. Those hold onto your streak for a day until you complete a lesson the next day. If you don’t get one and don’t do a lesson, your streak starts over.

Dear captives.
Hello.
As you all know, I tend to keep people in my basement. Probably not the best thing to do as ive come to grow as a person. Really. I pledge to no longer keep people in my basement. Look, I know its a dick move i'm sorry.
From now on, I will free my captives and no longer hunt you down. Obviously, im not happy about this but I will try. Or like, do it less? Love Stupid green owl.

How to Get Super Duolingo Subscription for Free?
As of my last update in January 2022, there is no legal way to obtain a Duolingo Super subscription for free. The Super subscription offers additional features such as ad-free learning, offline access, progress quizzes, and more. Duolingo offers a free version of its app with basic features, and they may occasionally offer free trials or promotions for their Super subscription, but these are usually limited-time offers and require payment afterward.
However, if you’re looking to access language learning resources for free, there are several alternatives you can explore:
Duolingo Free Version: While it doesn’t include all the features of the Super subscription, Duolingo’s free version still offers a wealth of language learning content.
Duolingo MOD APK: is a modified version of the standard Duolingo app, designed to unlock premium features without the need for a subscription.
Other Language Learning Apps: There are many other language learning apps available, some of which offer free access to their content or have freemium models where you can access basic features for free.
Language Learning Websites: There are numerous websites that offer free language learning resources, including grammar explanations, vocabulary lists, and exercises.
Library Resources: Check if your local library offers access to language learning resources, either through physical materials like books and CDs or through digital resources like language learning platforms.
Community Classes: Look for community classes or language exchange meetups in your area. These can be a great way to practice speaking with others and get feedback on your language skills.
Remember that learning a language takes time and dedication, and while paid subscriptions can offer additional features and convenience, there are still plenty of free resources available to help you on your language learning journey.

Another thing I've realized about DuoLingo after using a different language learning app:
It's annoying as fuck
All these uwu fun animations you have to sit through are really so annoying
They really go for the TikTok crowd eh?
Anyway, pro tip:
Put your phone in battery saving mode. So much faster
