so i'm trying to set up a catalogue for our branch's library and a system for books cdes are willing to lend out being organised so people know where books are and with who - you know removing friction for political education and all that jazz
and oh??? librarything back end with tinycat front end ohhhhhh this fucks severely?? personal account is free and you can literally make your own little lending library system of your own? books? HELLO???
i'm in love everyone should do this omg
#librarything#tinycat#libraries#we've got this box of books that we called our 'library' but like... it's in one cde's house and no one knows it exists#we are de-enclosing the information this year. we are democratising systems babey

Ok, so the big bookshelf is officially scanned/entered. Just the second book shelf, the crates in the closet, the ones on my dresser, and the ones scattered about to go.

Book Review: Create Dangerously (Albert Camus)
Create Dangerously by Albert Camus Create Dangerously Live dangerously, think dangerously, create dangerously. This can be a wonderful way to sum up the life – and writings – of Albert Camus. One of my favorite writers, his works have profoundly touched me in my own writing, in my own way of thinking, and my life in general. One of my biggest inspirations for writing, alongside Kurt Vonnegut,…

Seems like the appeal for LibraryThing is wearing thin... The only reason for the app being used still is just the tracking of books I own but of course it does ask for specific information like the medium the book is in or the place of purchase.
Pretty sure TCoVT would be a paaiin to record in there for several reasons. First: I got Eighth Grade Bites from a book fair when Scholastic did the publishing. Second book from a local secondhand book store. Secondly: I have multiple copies via one physical and the other digitally on Kindle for easy access on a phone/tablet.

D.A.R.E. never warned me about getting stoned on edibles and giving into the overwhelming urge to sort all of my physical and digital books into librarything.
This. This is my happy place.

Breath and Starshine - Review and Impressions
Disclosure: I received a Early Review Ebook from the author in hopes of a review through the LibraryThing Early Reviewer program in February 2023. I am very, very late to reading the book, but life sometimes makes it difficult to get things done in the time we think they ought to get done! Breath and Starshine by Kami King Larsen is a book set in a far post-apocalyptic world where a much reduced…

Self-promotion, or why I'll never succeed in politics
This meme showed up on Facebook this morning and it made me laugh out loud. I’m battling with self-promotion. When I wrote my first book, Recycled Virgin, and launched it right in the middle of the pandemic, I just couldn’t force myself to do any promotion. Life felt too grim. So my first novel sunk gently into the muck. It is still available, and I think it’s worth a read, if I do say so…

Fun fact! You can get an accurate chart like this on Librarything, which is like if Goodreads didn't suck ass AND wasn't owned by Amazon!
Here's how my "To Read" list stacks up:

#LIBRARYTHING ROCKS#I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD STUFF ABOUT IT#PLEASE LEAVE GOODREADS AND GET ON LIBRARYTHING#STOP GIVING AMAZON YOUR TIME AND MONEY#HALF THE REVIEWS ON GOODREADS ARE FUCKING FAKE#AND PEOPLE KEEP ADDING SHIT THAT DOESN"T BELONG LIKE FANFICS#librarything

Favoriete schrijvers
