The clocktower was quiet, her children were out causing their own trouble... Emery at least was. Daniel took after her responsible side and gods was she happy that was the case. Her body sunk into the comfy black couch of her livingroom and breathed a sigh of relief. Having the ability to takes 'breaks' as Death was a wonderful thing.
Creating reapers had not worked, but the creation of her children had been a blessing and she was happy to have company. The children had certainly helped her to feel less lonely in the world.
She felt her phone in her pocket shift and she pulled it out before it could hit the floor. She unlocked the screen and pulled up her messages, clicking on his photo and quickly shooting off a message. [Text]: Are you on duty? Or can I steal you away?

Uncanny: Post Mortem — new visualised podcast
Uncanny: Post Mortem — new visualised podcast
The BBC has announced Uncanny: Post Mortem, the first visualised podcast for Radio 4’s hugely popular paranormal ‘Uncanny’ strand which last year became a hit BBC Two television series. Bringing together famous fans from across the sceptic/believer divide, new visualised podcast Uncanny: Post Mortem, presented by Danny Robins, will launch on Friday 31 January on BBC Two and iPlayer. The…

i honestly don't ship Alastor with anyone but Charlie. Like yeah I find the other radio ships interesting in concept but I really can't see Alastor developing romantic feelings for them. Alastor as a character is complex so it stands to reason that if he were to ever have a love interest it would be someone to match all the incredibly specific things he'd potentially want in a partner and who has the qualities that he needs in order to change as a character.
I say there is nothing wrong with a good old fashioned crackship. That being said; everything about charlastor fascinates me because you can drop their characters in any setting and their personalities are intact. Charlie can be anything from the popular girl in high school to an up and coming business woman trying to make it in the cutthroat world of corporate to a florist to a barista and her disposition is the same.
Same with Alastor. Even if you DONT take away the aspect of him being a serial killer. He's charming, charismatic, condescending, and a bit standoffish. He's someone sexually experienced yet still asexual or he's a hundred and forty year old virgin speed running post mortem puberty. And yet something about his and Charlie's character types always gravitates one to the other so naturally. And this isn't even a "I like het ships" preference. I honestly don't care. But if charlastor were some flavor of gay? It would be the most popular ship in the fandom.
And while I think that there's a ship for every shipper, I would like to point out that Charlie and alastor's individual characters are so well developed that their interactions come across as far more natural when turned to a romantic inclination than most others.

posting a sneak peek of my dps wip i'm currently working on in hopes of motivating me!!
**
"Um.. you're being kind of loud and we're trying to sleep-"
"Tell that to him," Knox had chimed in, coming up behind the smaller boy. He had a small cut following the underside of his cheek.
Neil had decided to ignore it for the matter of the cause.
"I don't want to step on anyone's toes, but-"
"We get it," Charlie laughed snidely. "You need your beauty sleep."
"Stop being an ass, Charlie," his roommate had gritted through his teeth, nudging him.
"What the fuck, Knox?"
"You're being rude, Charlie and Nolan said you're not allowed to use that word-"
"Yeah, well.. you're not supposed to say the word ass either. Isn't that why you got your last three demer-"
"Shut up!" he'd yelled, surprised by the volume of his own voice. "I- I'm sorry, but you need to keep it down."
Know looked down at his feet, ashamed. Charlie smiled sinisterly.

Hell as a Place of Redemption: A New Perspective through Theology and TV Series ⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻
In monotheistic religions, hell is traditionally seen as a place of eternal punishment where guilty souls pay for their sins in perpetual torment, separated from divine grace. This concept has deep roots in Christian theology, with references in the Bible to "eternal fire" Matthew 25:41 and the "second death" in Revelation, Rev 20:14. However, despite the rigidity of this concept, there are alternative interpretations that view hell not only as a place of suffering but also as a space for reflection and transformation. A place where souls are not eternally condemned but are guided toward understanding their mistakes, eventually moving towards paradise.
Tumblr media
An Alternative Theological View: Hell as Purification While the concept of purgatory in Catholic doctrine offers an idea of an intermediate space between damnation and salvation, the notion that hell itself could function as a process of redemption is less explored. However, it is interesting to note that some biblical passages might suggest a less rigid view of divine justice. For instance, in 1 Timothy 2:4, it states that God "wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth." This could imply that divine will is to offer all souls a chance for redemption, even beyond death, through a process of understanding and repentance.
Additionally, some Christian theologians and mystics, such as Origen, have discussed the idea of apocatastasis, or the final restoration of all things, including sinners, to communion with God. Although this doctrine is not officially accepted by the Church, it provides an intriguing perspective that hell could be a temporary place, destined for redemption rather than eternal punishment.
Tumblr media
Hell in TV Series: From "Lucifer" to "Hazbin Hotel" The traditional view of hell as a place of pure torture has been challenged in various contemporary TV series, where hell is reinterpreted as a place of care rather than final punishment. In Lucifer, for example, the ruler of hell, played by Tom Ellis, faces the issue of hell not as a prison where souls are tormented but as a space where they remain trapped by themselves, unable to forgive themselves and move on. It is not a place governed by absolute evil but a sort of psychological space where souls must confront their inner demons. The key phrase that resonates in the series is, "Hell doesn’t need a king, but a curator." Thus, redemption becomes a real possibility, not an illusion. In Hazbin Hotel, an animated series with dark and humorous tones, a similar concept is explored: hell is populated by damned souls, but the main idea of the protagonist, Charlie, is to create a rehabilitation center, a hotel for souls where they can redeem themselves and earn their way back to paradise. Here too, the vision of hell drastically changes: it is no longer a place of eternal damnation but of transition, where souls, through love and understanding, can rediscover their goodness and achieve a new form of salvation.
Tumblr media
Other Series with Similar Themes Beyond Lucifer and Hazbin Hotel, other TV series have explored themes of redemption through hell or post-mortem worlds.
In The Good Place, a series that tackles the issues of morality, good, and evil, we see a completely overturned concept of paradise and hell. Souls that end up in the "bad place" (hell) are not destined to stay there forever. As the series progresses, the idea emerges that the system for evaluating souls is flawed, and that even the most damned soul can improve and redeem themselves through learning, growth, and collaboration with others. The Good Place is a great example of how even hell can transform into an opportunity for transformation, where suffering is not an end in itself but part of a process of moral and personal evolution.
The series Supernatural also touches on these themes on several occasions, exploring the nature of hell and the possibility of redemption. Various characters, including demons and evil spirits, seek and find forms of redemption throughout the series. The idea that "lost" entities can change their nature deeply touches on the theme of divine forgiveness and overcoming evil.
Tumblr media
Theories on the Third Season of Good Omens: A Realm Uniting Good and Evil In Good Omens, the series based on the novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, we already see an ironic and subversive twist on traditional religious themes. Crowley and Aziraphale, respectively a demon and an angel, form an unlikely alliance that challenges the very notion of absolute good and evil. Although there are no confirmations yet regarding the plot of the third season, one possible theory is that the two protagonists might create a realm where good and evil coexist, not as opposing forces but as complementary parts of a larger divine plan. In this place, souls are neither punished nor rewarded based on a rigid moral dichotomy but find a space to do good, learn, and grow, guided by a deeper understanding of their purpose.
Tumblr media
Conclusion: A New Way of Seeing Hell and Redemption Modern TV shows like Lucifer, Hazbin Hotel, The Good Place, and Good Omens portray hell as more than just a realm of suffering. Instead, it's a space for self-reflection and growth, where souls confront their mistakes and seek redemption.
This shift offers a fresh take on divine justice, suggesting that redemption isn't limited to a select few but is a journey open to all, even those who've committed the gravest sins. The emphasis on learning and transformation over eternal punishment mirrors a more compassionate, nuanced view of good, evil, and spiritual balance.
Hell, then, may not be an end but a stage of growth and awareness on the path to salvation.

If Argo ever became a victim and the team had to solve his death, how would his case roughly play out? What would be the events that happen between chapters, and what would the AI be?
Nolan already has one in the works lol
Personally thinking of him being killed in a alleyway by a thug or someone, or maybe even die at Lawson’s own hands and the team had to figure out whether it really was Lawson, or someone else
If I had a nickel for every time I was asked how I would kill Argo off, I'd have two nickels - which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice!
I'm sorry I took so long to respond to this ask. I was waiting until I posted a specific chapter ("If You Love Somebody, Let Them Go") in my story before answering it. I needed it to reveal a significant change I’m making to Argo’s story, which plays a part in this answer.
Now that I’ve done that and thought out how to write this hypothetical case let’s see one way I could potentially kill Argo! I’m going to lay it out similar to how I plot out my OG cases in my notebook. (Yes, I have a notebook for OG cases, and yes, it's OCD-level organized to the point that it’s colour-coded by season.)
Info for this case before getting into it:
This murder substitutes the final case. Someone once asked me in an OG case I made for S3 (“Murder From The Past”) if I would kill off Argo in the final case instead of Charlie (I hadn’t even introduced Argo yet, and people already wanted to know if I would kill him or not!). So you’ll see that some things from Last Stand For Justice will be reused for this OG case
Argo and Diego have gotten back together (Argo and Jason broke up during Coyote Gorge) and have been romantically involved since the start of Crimson Banks
For the sake of parts of this case, we'll say that the Squad was already aware that Argo and Diego aren't human (Not sure if they’ll find out in my story or not yet)
The transition between this and the case before it is similar to canon, but instead of Charlie returning to the airship, it’s Argo, and Isaac goes with him
Since Maddie just gave birth and her husband isn't missing, instead of her going to the airship, it’s Arthur with Katherine (who escaped with the Squad during “Best Laid Plans”) tagging along since she knows how to avoid the Justice Corps thanks to the Resistance. That’s how they end up as the investigators
Case Outline

Disclaimer: The order of steps varies; this is just a rough outline of what would happen in each chapter
Steps - Chapter 1
Investigate Airship Navigation room:
Victim’s body (autopsy - Dick)
Police notebook (faded name on the cover; decipher name; Constable Ramirez. New suspect: Constable Ramirez)
Talk to Isaac about the murder (admits he and Argo got separated on the way to the airship, and when he arrived, Argo was already dead)
Talk to Ramirez about being on the crime scene (reveals the Justice Corps tasked him to guard the airship after the Squad escaped but had stepped away for a snack break during the time of the murder, and he never saw Argo enter the airship)
****New Crime scene: Squad Airship (Prerequisite: talk to Ramirez)
Investigate Squad Airship:
Bag (Search; baby supplies; note addressed to Maddie. New suspect: Maddie O’Malley)
Caspian’s letter carrier (Unlock; Coded message; analyze - Evie)
Talk to Maddie about the baby bag (discover she asked for Argo to grab the bag of baby items she had to leave behind on the airship when they fled. Maddie is shocked to find out Argo is dead, and Charlie comforts)
Get results: Autpsoy and coded message
Autopsy revealed: killer eats ration biscuits; left crumbs on Argo’s body
Code message revealed: killer knows The Caesar Cipher; coded message was from Argo to his killer asking him to meet him at the airship
****Chapter transition: Charlie interrupts Arthur and Katherine, who were summarizing the case, to announce he’d just received a telegram from a Resistance member informing them that Argo had been spotted at the harbour before his death
Steps - Chapter 2
Investigate Capitol Peak Harbour:
Flying Squad badge (faded engraving; dust; badge number; Arthur IDs it as Diego’s badge number (there are less than ten members; I doubt that many badges have been issued that Arthur doesn't know which belongs to who). New suspect: Diego del Lobo)
Torn newspaper article (Repair; old article about Isaac’s brother’s death. Talk to Isaac again)
Damaged Caspian; substance on wings (Swab wings; unknown transparent substance; analyze - Viola)
Inform Diego of Argo’s death (Reveals he visited the airship after hearing the Squad had been captured; assumes he must have dropped his badge on the way there as he carries it to remind himself there is still hope true justice will be restored. After being told Argo is dead, Diego becomes distraught and is unconsolable hearing his lover is dead)
Talk to Isaac about the newspaper article (Same as canon; it reveals the truth behind his brother’s death and how Argo found the article, causing the old memories to resurface)
Get results: Unknown substance
Reveals the killer uses moisturizer as it was the unknown substance on Caspian’s wing, but it was not the type Argo used, so it had to have been left by the killer. Viola speculates the killer must have attacked Caspian during the murder and brought the bird to the harbour to dispose of him in the water
Investigate airship gangway:
Argo’s crutches with crumbs on them (Collect with vacuum; unknown crumbs; analyze - Viola)
Toolbox (Search; ID band; compare; Jason’s ID code. New Suspect: Jason Nicchi)
Talk to Jason about his toolbox being on the crime scene (Learn that Mayor Lawson tasked him with checking the airship for traps the Squad could have set. Knew nothing about the murder and was shocked Argo was dead)
Get results: Crumbs
Crumbs belonged to trail mix. Katherine recalls that was the snack Constable Ramirez had mentioned eating
Ask Constable Ramirez about why he handled Argo’s crutches (Confesses he went aboard the airship after the murder and found Argo’s body, dropping trail mix on the crutches after seeing the dead detective. Panicked and ran out of the airship, taking the crutches since his trail mix was on them and hiding them outside to avoid becoming a suspect)
****Chapter transition: Same as in canon; Lady Highmore tells everyone to hide because Judge Umbright is coming, so Arthur and Katherine leave the mansion to search the harbour again
Steps - Chapter 3
Investigate Capitol Peak Harbour Docks:
Locked ring box (Decode lock: open; engagement ring with engraving “Mi Corazón Es Tuyo - Tu Lobo”. Talk to Diego again)
Torn fabric (Repair; Fiocco Nascita with George Dupont’s name and birth info. Talk to Maddie again)
Trash can (Search; Gun; analyze - Rose)
Question Diego about the engagement ring for Argo (Reveals he was going to ask Argo to marry them (even if it was just a symbolic marriage) after the fall of the Justice Corps)
Ask Maddie about George’s Fiocco Nascita (Tells them that Argo made the Fiocco Nascita for George and that she regrets asking Argo to find her baby bag, thinking she caused him to spend unnecessary time on the airship, which allowed his killer to get him)
Get results: Handgun
Discover the gun is the murder weapon. Rose also discovers that these guns are used by the Justice Corps and are manufactured by Jason. Talk to Jason again)
Confront Jason about building the murder weapon (Is shocked to find out he made the gun that killed Argo but promises he did nothing more than build the guns on Mayor Lawson’s orders. He doesn't know who the gun was issued to)
Investigate Airship wheel:
Argo’s necklace with substance on shell (Collect; transparent substance; analyze - Viola)
Broken ship’s wheel (Repair; restored ship’s wheel; analyze - Charlie)
Get results: Substance and ship’s wheel
Transparent substance: Killer’s tears: reveals the killer has brown eyes
Ship’s wheel: Fibres caught in the wheel: reveals the killer has torn clothes as the fibres did not match Argo’s clothes
Arrest Killer: Diego del Lobo (Or is he???)
Diego confesses that Argo has asked to meet him at the airship as they had been secretly communicating about how to take down Justin. No one was around when they arrived, so they were going to grab what they needed and then flee to join the rest of the Squad at Lady Highmore’s mansion
But Justin appeared and caught them sharing a kiss in the navigation room. Furious, Justin demands to know why Diego (still wearing his Eddie Lebold disguise) was kissing a wanted man
Diego’s real identity is discovered, and Justin draws his gun, planning to take Diego and Argo in himself. The couple pleads for Justin to put the gun away and promise to go with him willingly, but Justin keeps ranting about “perfecting justice” and “ridding the world of corruption” while brandishing the gun
During the argument, Justin shoots at Diego, but Argo steps in front of his boyfriend and takes the bullet meant for Diego. The two stumble backwards into the airship’s wheel, breaking it and collapsing to the floor
Diego is distraught as he holds Argo while he’s dying, and Justin, shocked by what he’d done, leaves without trying to take Diego in
Argo dies in Diego’s arms and asks his boyfriend to take his heart (The Heart of The Ocean; long story short, magical rock that serves as Argo’s heart) so it won’t fall into the wrong hands before he passes
Diego does as requested and takes Argo’s heart; somehow, Argo’s body sustains a physical form. Diego assumes it might have something to do with the fact that the stone is cracked because of the bullet, and thus, the magic is on the fritz
Diego hid the heart in a safe location to retrieve it after Justin was taken down. But Arthur and Katherine caught Diego before he could find evidence to prove Justin killed Argo since Diego didn’t think they would just take his word for it
Thankfully, they believed him, and while they still kept Diego locked in a bedroom, the Squad now focuses their efforts on taking down Justin and getting justice for Argo
****Chapter transition: After Diego’s “arrest,” Maddie appears to reveal George has been taken by Judge Umbright like in canon (but happens late in this case), and now they have to save the baby and take down Justin
Steps - Chapter 4/Additional Investigation
****Following the introduction of the AI, we need to talk to Rose about George’s kidnapping and Diego about defeating Justin
****Maddie and Charlie stand in as partners for the George plotline
****Isaac and Arthur partner for the Justin plotline
Rescuing George Dupont plotline:
Talk to Rose and find out about her plan to save George
Investigate the Navigation room
Baby box (Unlock; baby rattle; analyze - Rose)
Get results: Weaponized rattle
Rescue George Dupont from Judge Umbright using the weaponized rattle
Defeating Justin Lawson plotline:
Ask Diego about his and Argo's plan to take down Lawson (Charlie still made the tracking device but was less involved in the “True Justice” plan since Argo takes his place in this case)
Investigate Squad Airship
Broken pieces (Repair; tracking device; analyze - Charlie)
Get results: Tracking Device
Canon results about how we need to wait until Justin stops moving to catch him
Timeskip happens - Charlie reports that Justin has stopped at the Capitol Peak harbour
Investigate Capitol Peak Harbour
Tracking device
The battle between Justin and the Squad happens like in canon, but he confesses to killing Argo. However, he no longer feels guilty since Argo was “against justice” and disobeyed Justin
Justin shoots Isaac, but the bulletproof vest saves him, and while Justin is distracted, Arthur shoots the mayor in the heart, killing him
Since they are at the harbour and Justin is standing close to the edge of the dock, he falls into the water, but by the time Arthur and Isaac reach the dock’s edge, his body is carried away by the waves and is never recovered. It was lost at sea forever, never to have a proper final resting place
(It was the ocean’s revenge for Justin killing her heart. His soul can never truly be at peace)
Everyone regroups following Justin’s death. Diego is released now that Argo’s true killer is gone, and he’s officially cleared of the murder despite taking Argo’s heart (since the Squad knows Argo isn’t human, they understand why Diego did it and therefore, he isn’t charged for any crime)
The plot continues as usual, with Lady Highmore becoming the new mayor, followed by Argo's funeral. His body was cremated, and his ashes were scattered at sea at the cove behind his house
Diego recovered the Heart of The Ocean from where he hid it but didn’t return it to the sea, hoping he could find a way to fix the cracks and bring Argo back
Another time skip happens, and the Squad meets in the airship, where everyone reminisces about Argo. Charlie says he has something that might help with their grief that he brought to work but left in his automobile. Maddie goes with him to collect it
After investigating the gangway, they find the film reel Charlie had brought, and after recovering the label to make sure it's the right one, the Squad gathers in Charlie’s lab to watch the film
The film shows the message Argo recorded in case anything happened to him while trying to take down Justin. He talks about how thankful he is to have met the Squad and the friends he has made since coming to Concordia. He tells his family and friends he loves them, along with other personalized heartfelt messages for his family and teammates. The film concludes with a message for Diego where Argo tells him how much he loves him and wishes they could have spent eternity together and hopes one day they will meet again, either in this life or the next
After the film ends, Arthur tells the team that the Squad will be going on an extended vacation. However, Diego announces that he will not be returning to the Squad and plans to leave Concordia to find a way to restore the Heart of The Ocean. The team tells him he is welcome to return and they will always be there for him if he needs help
Phew! That was a workout! Admittedly, my real OG case outlines aren’t this detailed, but this still gives you an insight into how I plot out my OG cases and keep track of everything!
While this isn’t an entirely new original case, I wanted to try my hand at using the idea of Argo taking Charlie’s place as the final victim. Which version do you think is more tragic? Canon or this one?
Either way, I’ll get the tissues!
Thank you for the ask, st4r-th0ughts! This was a fun challenge, and I loved creating a case in which one of my MCs was the victim! (Now that’s a dark thing to be happy about…)

how much planning did you, zoe and lexi do for the regina/charlie/kacey relationship? i was so excited when it happened in book 1 but now it seems kinda doomed from the start.
Zoe and I had gone into the season knowing that our characters were kind of a classic mean girl/earnest girl situation and that we wanted to do something there. Lexi came into the picture once we decided that Regina was Kacey's childhood friend and it would be fun if she was crushing on the both of them (and it was!)
I'm sorry it feels doomed from the start now lol it kind of was and wasn't. I don't think in Zoe and I's initial planning we talked about a breakup but as the season went on longer and longer it just made more sense to explode the whole thing, especially after the Jordan reveal. By the mid-mortem I think we already started talking about an eventual break up and here we are!

Hi,.....if you don't mind me asking, can I ask your top 5 (or top 3) favorite characters from Hazbin Hotel? And why you loved them? And your top 5 favorite moments from the series? Sorry if you've answered this question before....Thanks....
Hi!
Thank you for this fun ask :D
FAVOURITE CHARACTERS
1- Lucifer
Tumblr media
He's a disaster and I love him :''') He is very well written so far. He has a strong characterization, which combines a comedic side (bumbling dad + airhead) with more serious traits (depression). He is also set up to have a wonderful arc, which ties with important themes for the series, as a whole. Dreams, redemption, freedom and love. His relationship with Charlie is especially sweet: he is very very flawed as a parent, but through his daughter he finds hope again and makes some steps to grow. Plus, he is a mix between Barnum (the greatest show) and Walt Disney, which is very meta when it comes to the themes of creativity and enterteinment.
2- Charlie
Tumblr media
Charlie is one of the rare protagonists I adore! She feels both classic (she is a Disney Princess) and original (she is the Princess of Hell). The premise to have such an idealistic character as a high profile demon is both hilarious and very strong thematically. Not only that, but Charlie's conflict is actually pretty deep and layered. On the one hand she genuinelly wants to help Sinners and is right about redemption. On the other hand she is also using her dream to run away from her problems and hide her self-issues. Charlie is deep down a child, who felt abandoned by her parents and who doesn't fit in her own Kingdom. The Hazbin Hotel is a home for both Sinners and herself. A place where she can stay for a while, find familial bonds and grow. On a writing note, I like how active she is. She drives the conflict beautifully in a way which is almost refreshing.
3- Alastor
Tumblr media
Here comes another disaster! Alastor is clearly the key character of the series, both when it comes to plot and to theme. He is clearly linked to Lilith's mystery somehow (either because he made a pact with her or because the reason of Lilith's disappearence ties with whoever Alastor made the pact with). He is also a challenge to Charlie in how she believes everyone can be redeemed, but Alastor will try very very hard not to be LOL. And he will probably fail :''') Apart from it, he is very well used in the first season. His mystery is built up and he manages to stay active and move the plot without taking central stage. In a sense, he stays in the shadows, which is fitting for a shadow character.
3- Angel Dust
Tumblr media
Angel is a sweetheart, who hides his feelings and goodness out of fear. I like his sibling bond with Charlie and how selfless he is towards his loved ones. His stay at the hotel isn't really about redemption, as Charlie thinks. Rather, it is more about healing, finding a stable environment and escaping a toxic relationship. I like his small step towards independence. His story is just beginning and his arc is just set up, but it has already the potential to be great.
5 - Adam, Sir Pentious, Vaggie, Sera (basically a bunch of characters LOL)
Adam is a villain I enjoyed immensely. He is just fun to hate LOL and I am curious to see if he will gain some depth. Either through coming back or post-mortem. I also like he is a play with School of Rock's Dewey Finn. He is in love with rock and metal and even uses rock rhetoric, like "Stick it to the man". Except that he embodies everything rock isn't. He himself is the man. He is a mediocre authority figure who uses his power against the weakest. Sorry Adam, but Charlie is way more punk rock than you :P
Sir Pentious is adorable <3 His arc is simple, but well done. I love how he slowly opens up to others and his crush for Cherri Bomb is adorable. I am curious to see where his story will go.
Vaggie has a very interesting premise in how she foils Lucifer as a fallen angel (and will probably foil Lilith, as well). The reveal of her background was great and I love her design and her focus in Hello Rosie, where she finds a mentor in Carmilla. Still, I want more of her and feel like her arc is just set-up as for now. It ties with trust, which is a great theme for a love story.
Sera has only appeared once, but I like her characterization. She is sympathetic, but also very clearly in the wrong and the main responsible for the whole conflict (yes, even more than Adam as she wields more power and could have stopped him). I like her bond with Emily and I am curious about her relationship with Lucifer, since what happened to him seems to have scarred her.
FAVOURITE MOMENTS (IN NO ORDER)
More than Anything - Charlie and Lucifer's confrontation
Tumblr media
Charlie and Lucifer discovering each other and affirming their familial love is beautiful. Charlie reveals she still adores her father, despite his flaws and neglect. Lucifer finds in himself the drive to dream again.
You Didn't Know - The questioning
Tumblr media
The whole courtroom scene is brilliant thematically. The main conflict goes from redemption for sinners to questioning the system. It is poignant how Lute and Adam are stuck in their heads and unable to either ask nor answers questions. Charlie and Emily instead keep interrogating others and themselves. They discover the reality around them is complex, starting with their loved ones (Vaggie and Sera). Still, these doubts will make them stronger in the end.
Lucifer's Big Damn Heroes moment
Tumblr media
Lucifer joining the fight to save his daughter is a great conclusion to his arc this season. Plus, he manages to be both badass and hilarious at the same time :''') His short skermish with Adam is pretty funny, as well and it was cool to see his demon form. Plus, we got some more hints to whatever happened in Eden, which is bound to be important for the story as a whole.
Ready for this
Tumblr media
This is Charlie's big moment this season. It is when she realizes she can do this. She has within herself the strength to inspire people with her voice, just like Lilith. Rosie and Alastor encouraging her is great, as well. And the whole set-up with a town full of kind and cheerful cannibals is hilarious.
The Show Must Go On - The Finale
Tumblr media
The final song is perfect as a conclusion to Charlie's journey this first season. She starts it by singing alone, with everybody dismissing her. She ends it surrounded by her loved ones, with everyone "singing her song". Lucifer and the whole Hotel Crew encourage her not to give up and help her re-build her dream. The hints to future plot-lines (like the Vees and Alastor) are also great.

if i can ever access my college email again i have 2 essays i need to post somewhere, one Comparing Schillinger from oz and the plotline with his sons to King Lier for a Shakespeare class and another that was the relationship in time between advancements in the feminist movement and depictions of violence especially sexual violence toward females in horror, in which i showed the entire class the toothless blowjob suffocation scene from A Serbian Film as a display of social dominance XD
which IMHO is the only scene in the film that lives up to the films reputation. The babyfuck Mai-Chan already did onscreen in 2004 and i think if i remember right was shown just as graphically in an old movie called "the brood" which is one shot of a rubber doll being held and then everything u think u see is conveyed through audio and the reaction shots of the characters viewing it, like how all the assaults by schillinger on beecher in the first season of Oz (or for that matter any on screen SA at all until RE Rodgers shows up on set in season 2 and is like "fuck tasteful implication get a good shot of my ass muscles clenching while i pretend im getting blown") are exclusively communicated through dialog but because they show the branding on screen you REMEMBER seeing a scene of SA.
The rest of the movie was just tits and a try hard gooner decapitation during sex scene where the effects are laughable and then 30-40 minutes of boring dialog thats trying to be deep and then a twist ending that felt so unnatural like as if somebody was like "we need a twist ending" and ignored all logic to jam it in pardon my phrasing lol and it takes itself SO SERIOUSLY i think Human Centapede 3 was the best of that whole deepshock era because it knew how to have FUN it had a sense of humor that didnt force it to hold back the ugliness of the horror but instead gave them an excuse to escalate in the name of comedy. Prolly one of the overall better horror series of my generation. First one is boring gross concept nonsense, 2nd is over the top arthouse meta-film commentary on the audience reaction to the shock content of the 1st film, 3rd film they just play the benny hill soundtrack in the background and people are getting fucked in the kidney and eating fried dick and balls and they make a 1000 man chain or something super over the top like that the gradient from concept shock horror to wacky splatterpunk romp feels very natural and keeps an idea that nobody thought wouldnt get too repetitive to make a 2nd movie from a respectable trilogy showcasing 3 almost entirely different genres other than SAW and now Terrifier which i consider more of my baby sisters generation it was the superior original horror franchise of my generation imho
Like Human Centapede was well aware that it was sharing an era with the widespread easy nearly unlimited extremely inexpensive availability of RC Psychedelics and carved itself a place, Serbian Film was for dads who do shrooms by the 1/6th and bragged about seeing "the for real uncut nipple cutting version of last house on the left at a drive in during high school" and brag about their knowledge of Cannibal Holocaust ripoffs then feel emasculated when their daughter finds an even longer cut under a different title of the film they are bragging about with a 3 click google search and has to re-establish dominance by showing 11 year old militant peta-vegan me the uncut Cannibal Holocaust and only rubbing it in after we watched the whole thing that the animal deaths were real which i fired back with August Underground Mortem which he finished and then made me pull up all the film articles on because Charlie Sheen Guinea Pig style he thought his middle school daughter just showed him actual snuff and that put an end to the arms race but i still sometimes take a victory lap by showing him a gore video like he did to me the week after 9/11 when he showed me footage of an afghanistan girl getting a clitoridectomy and explained "if we dont kill all the people who knocked down the twin towers theyre going to do this to you and make you not allowed to read or go to school and marry an old man as soon as they beat us"
like idk how we have the relationship of dick measuring that we had (i once dated the niece of the woman he was cheating on my mom with and made him drive us around without saying i knew the connection just to watch him sweat) he looks at me and is like "daughter, just a daughter, in no way son behavior, dominance struggles with the male head of the household are exactly what typical daughters do and is not male-coded as fuck"
Like sir you've been consistently defeated at every attempt at dick measuring we've been engaged in since i was 10 if Im really not your son because you cant handle having a trans son then i guess swallow the chunky af pill that your "daughter" has proven undefeated since puberty to have the bigger dick
I dont have "Daddy Issues" that MF got Son Issues ill traumatize his ass right back
