He leans back, upside down under the Brooklyn bridge. Safest place a teenager could be. Surely. He watches as boats and people pass by, unalarmed by any of them. He moves his mask up to take a drink from his water bottle- though forgetting he’s upside down it all spills out into the ocean.

“Aw shit!”

He sounds more annoyed than upset as he puts the now empty-partially wet bottle back in his bag. His eyes scanning for any sort of anything before he feels the world stop and an itch go up his spine. His head alerts- his spidey sense is the feeling your sinuses get after eating pop-rocks. It’s not pleasant. Quickly he checks his NEW company issued smart watch. He remembers beaming at being handed it by his boss. Then swiftly modded it to have a police scanner on it and even among us. Somehow. Just for the fun of it. As a conversation starter.

He pulls his mask on and swings out of there, he probably should get a new water bottle.

Kurt Wagner (AKA NIGHTCRAWLER) Is one of many X-men, mutants who once were outcasted from society in his universe, turned to the light and are now fighting for their freedom and recognition and rights. Thrown out by his mother Mystique for being visibly a mutant he was picked up by multiple groups over the years; a catholic priory, a Bavarian circus, and eventually, the X-Men. Over the years as they continued to fight the UN, Magneto, and various other threats to human and mutant kind their tasks got larger, more cosmic in scale, more horrendous to take on. Thousands would perish or be harmed in the conflicts. Then, the Phoenix in all its cosmic power warped the universe and bent it to choose its host Jean Grey- though in the fray of all of this the energy exuded from the being sent anything trying to attack it hundreds of thousands of miles away from itself. For one Kurt Wagner, mid teleportation. This meant his physical consciousness and being was thrown hundreds of universes away. Lost in the streets of a Brooklyn he does not know. He is the only Mutant on earth. Looking for a way home and any allies that he remembers from his universe that look so different and act so strangely.

The Ghost stands at ease for now. A tension trap ready to snap when the order is given. The ever ready weapon of war, without hesitation. When they woke him from Cryo he heard the whispers in the halls. Everyone was afraid. The great Captain America had defeated Pierce. Defeated Hydra. If the Ghost could be afraid he would have been.

The Winter soldier escaped, leadership in tatters, anyone would have been afraid for the future. But the Ghost felt nothing. It was beaten and ripped out of him half a century ago. He was just the back up. The emergency asset, as low of a rank as it was even for assets. He wasn't the Winter soldier. But he was damn close. Soviet Russia's second best super soldier. And just as deadly.

Question was, where was this new handler going to send him now?

There wasn't that many female in her class yet alone in Top Gun, one of a few made it but none of them have as many air combat kills. Top of her class, always being assign classified missions and make sure the target were killed. Natasha strived to be the best and THE BEST. She tends to work alone, better off that way as she focus on her skills.

To name a few on what she is great at. Staying on top of her target without causing any harms way, the redhead doesn't play well with others. On this mission, she was granted to fly x-15, one of the fastest aircraft out there, the adrenaline for the need of speed, and so as the kill.

There she was up, over the top deck, preparing the take off as she waited for the command, checking everything at the motherboard and giving a thumb up to her fellow teammate to clear the runaway.

❝Charlie, you are clear for take off. ❞

Pulling down the shift gear the moment her commander stated it was clear, the X -15 took the deck in milliseconds, with that rate could bust the eardrums without proper equipment. Ascending up the sky, altitude of forty thousands feet in the air in a matter of two minutes and she wasn't the only pilot on this mission, no, this was a two pilot mission. Because right after she took off, another fighter jet was behind her.
