I remember the day I quit my last job, i was a server in a restaurant. I was called into the office to get written up about ringing in a bad order. I didn’t add tomatoes to someones sandwich. lol I felt ridiculous that they would go through that just to have something on me. I remember thinking “I don’t need this, Im already doing well with my ART, wouldn’t it be cool if I said F you, F you, youre cool, IM OUT!!” so I believe the words i said were: “unless you rip this write up warning, and give me a raise, I am going to walk out of here”. The managers were caught off guard and started to imply maybe I was right, and that I didn’t have to quit. So they decided to forget about the write up. I saw that as my cue, and I walked out. Aster let out a soft sigh as she tugged lightly on the handle of her door. It was dusk, the sun was about to go down, and she was ready to leave her apartment for the night. While she still looked like an old woman, she hated being cramped up for so long and she was eager to get out. As the last light of the sun disappeared, Aster dragged her door open, slipped outside and closed it solidly behind her, breathing out. A tingle ran through her, rising to a mildly numbing pain suddenly and instantly as the years melted off of her body and she became young again. As the transformation completed, she was left panting softly, leaning against the door to her apartment, and thanking every God she could think of that she lived in a mostly deserted apartment building. It meant no one would be around. At least, she hoped.
