Would someone be allowed to make a new submission to join if their first was rejected? And if you've had characters/ideas change since your submission, would you recommend making a new submission?

you are allowed to, but as the person who manages all applications i'm going to be honest: i don't really tend to accept them. we've gotten to a point where we have so many players that i have to be EXTREMELY selective in who i accept! there's a LOT of people for our little project!! our goal is to have players that want to be a part of the Pantheon, not people who are just here to play minecraft or want to be part of any roleplay-based SMP. this project is four years old now, five in December, we've sunk so much time and care and love into crafting the world! we want people that are invested in being a part of that, contributing to it!! we really, really appreciate everyone that applies. it's nice to know there's so many people out there in the minecraft roleplay scene. but this server is entirely centered on the lore and worldbuilding, and we've got applications for people to ADD to that. to create something WITHIN that space. my advice if you are super invested in the Pantheon itself, and i somehow didn't realize that in your first application: wait awhile! we're not technically open yet, applications were open as more of a preorder situation. i won't be the first to admit it but our resources for reading up on lore are INSANELY lacking, something we're currently working on! when it's finished we'll be publicly posting a WorldAnvil for you to know more about the lore, so you can see if you can work within it/show us that you'll engage with it sorry, i talk a lot!! you can send a new application or i BELIEVE you should be able to edit your old ones- please just make it clear where the edit begins! also applications are currently closed because i burnt myself the fuck out and am technically on break from the pantheon. whoops, sorry, thank you for your patience...... - Galaxy

Ah! Thank you, my dear friend and sidekick. You always know just how to kill the weird guys that Mario encounters in his adventures. I don't question it, because I assume you know exactly how to kill me, too.

In addition to Mikey Mine, there is also the Space Mine, which is nearly the same thing! Mikey Mine is just aquatic, while these ones go wherever they please. But I don't think they please anything, because they are fully inanimate! A bit strange that they didn't use the same design for both of them, but I assume it's because Space Mine is used more as a simple obstacle, while Mikey is more like an enemy, appearing in a situation where he must be destroyed to progress. Giving Mikey eyes makes him more of a creature. Makes it clear he can be killed.

Geez! That makes sense from a gameplay perspective, but it's also messed up that it does. Killing creatures is so normal for even a friendly scrimblo like Mario to do! When Mario sees something with eyes, he assumes he will either be killing or eating it. To any eyeless cave shrimp in the audience, rejoice! Super Mario cannot hurt you!

Hey, sorry if this is a weird question but I'm trying to learn more since I honestly wasn't educated about fatphobia before and I'm trying to fix that (especially now that I won't be a teen in a few months and my mom could be considered fat and I love food so like we all know the body type I'll have in a few years). I often see people say that being fat is bad because people like firefighters and nurses get injured when saving/caring for them and I'd like to know if there's any way to like.. fix that? I obviously don't want very poorly compensated people risking their lives to get injured more than they have to but I also don't think policing people's bodies is right...

Hmmm where to start. The thing is nurses are understaffed, often asked to move patients by themselves when they shouldn't be. It's not just fat people that can injure a nurse, anyone who can't assist on their own lifting can. Lifting say, 180 pounds from the floor is risky, Hospital beds are closer to the average person waist plus there are handles and bars for the patient to assist. Rolling a patient in bed is difficult, again if the patient can't assist. Making sure staff is getting help is crucial. They wouldn't let me move myself from the bed I was on, onto the surgery table but it was quick and took three people to properly nest me and slide me over. (I was going in for gallbladder surgery) there were multiple people who could have assisted in the room if they needed more. So really, fighting under staffing and over working in the medical field is key.

Im not as familiar with fire fighting techniques however I know that there's an issue of businesses not having Evac Chairs or sleds for the physically disabled. I'm thinking of the brand Evac Chairs but ANY such device is useful.

These should be part of fire and rescue training and provided to the rescuers for public safety. Any business that sees a large amount of foot traffic should have these on site. (I don't expect a small mom and pop shop to have one, but Walmart should. Hospitals should.)

So basically: proper training, the right equipment and proper staff. These all play a role in how to circumvent awful situations.

Also take the consideration of what these people say "it's bad to be fat because nurses and fire fighters" these types of people are one bad turn from saying "it's bad to be in a wheelchair because it's too hard for fire rescue" or "it's bad to need nurses to turn you to prevent bed sores" they think, fundamentally, that fat people choose to be fat so we deserve less empathy. And even if it was 100% a choice for every person, it doesn't mean we don't deserve care and common sense accomedations. You can't say you respect bodily autonomy and support disability rights if your support is conditional. Only supporting "the good ones" is a policy in futility.

As an aside: check your smoke detectors and reduce fire hazards. Know your exits and keep low to the floor if there's smoke. Regardless of size people get real relaxed with fire safety because it's rare it's an issue. Some basic things is all you can do so please do them or have someone your trust to do them.

applications update

hey guys!!! tis i, the singular moderator who handles applications. y'all deserve to stay in the loop, so here it is!!

first of all: i am burned the fuck out. the last batch of applications was 40+, more than any amount of applications we have received in a month, much less a few days. we have another batch sitting in limbo right now, and unfortunately that's where they're going to be staying for the time being. i need time to recharge a bit, and maybe do less applications at a time when i start processing them again!

secondly, i'd like to be very clear on something! this situation is entirely my fault. we have an entire team of gods who are longtime dear friends of mine, and continue to offer help on processing applications. i continue to politely decline because i have a system of going about it. i'm the only moderator who processes applications by choice.

TDLR: if you sent in an application recently you're waiting an indefinite amount of time, Sorry,,,,

Like I've seen atheists question religion a lot and they seem unusually well read compared to their religious counterparts and despite knowing more about it, they also have a whole lot of questions most religious people dare not to ask or think about at all. And then there's aros! Between allos and aros, the aros are likely the ones who have read about amatonormativity and I do not think allos even know about the word at all, neither do they question (and probably challenge) it as much as we aros typically do.

I'm gonna be totally real, I am leery of takes like that about "religion" because 90+% of the time in atheist spaces I've seen or heard of, it's like... only actually talking about Christianity with a smattering of other religions as viewed by a christo-centric cultural lens.

I think any time someone starts making broad claims about any group being "unusually well read" it's time to take a step back and consider your sampling bias and clustering bias. You likely specifically seek out people who are well read, and end up with sampling bias. Additionally, that sort of community often references within itself, and especially if you follow a group, you see the cluster around that group, which inflates the perceived impression.

Please note, i'm not saying you are like... 100% wronger than any person alive. I'm just saying that's not easily studied by experts, and it's actually quite hard to say anything about these types of metrics without bias.

The point you are making though, I think, may be better expressed by talking about people who leave a common belief system or never belonged to a common belief system in their life. In general, people who intentionally or unintentionally fail to comply with a commonly held opinion could be more likely to spend more time thinking about the nuances of it and related subjects. I think that is a point I could concede is generally true.

Remember Bowser's UFO? I rarely do! He has all these grand vehicles that tend to appear, do something, and then slink away forever. Remember his submarine? We all know his submarine. We get to go on it once! And then never again. Weird! Good thing his Cool Car ended up being marketable, or he would need to keep making even more!

At least, I assume the UFO is Bowser's. He uses it, and he SUMMONS it, with his Electricity Hands. Everyone loves Bowser Magic! He can discharge lighting just like King Dedede in Kirby's Pinball Land! The thing this moment confirms is that the UFO is not PILOTED by Bowser... Maybe it's a goon. Hired goon.

There could be ANYONE in that UFO! There could be anyTHING! A species the likes of which we've never seen! And an individual character, or characters, of this species. It wouldn't just be any old Alien letting some guy use its ship for evil. Perhaps even Tatanga...?

To save ourselves from disappointment, we can also choose to believe that it is simply piloted by some random Koopa. Perhaps a UFO Control Panel Bro, who throws UFO control panels and then uses them. You must admit, that would be a convenient fellow to have if you need a UFO! Just maybe have him throw it onto a mattress first to avoid damage.

I've been focusing on what could be inside of the UFO, but it's what's on the outside that counts: its three boobs. It seems it's Super Mario Galaxy tradition to have massive machines with three boobs! This is why we don't have Super Mario Galaxy 3. That's the Number of the Boob. If they can't make the perfect metal boobs for the occasion, they will make none at all, and that's fair.

I'm not even saying this to be cheeky! These just look so much like boobs! It's not like Megahammer where they're POSITIONED like boobs, but in this case the details are all there. And what does it lactate? Laser beams! Forget unsweetened vanilla oat milk, this is my new milk substitute of choice!

The UFO uses its nefarious nipples to kickstart the big conflict, allowing Peach's entire castle to be ripped out of the ground and taken away... and then it does nothing. We get to see it briefly while flying toward the final level, and it's just there. No last ditch attack, no climactic battle against it, no venturing within it. Whoever's piloting this vessel was paid for one particular job, and they did it, and now they're getting out of here! Good on them, really. Bad on them for doing some big evil ultimately leading to the destruction of the universe, but you have to respect the independent contractor grind!
