Rook had a long day; arguing with some snotty lord who thought they were better than him, arguing with Viago (though that was just fun) and helping Bellara with writing her book, which he was at least 75% sure was based on him.

He just wanted to take off his shoes and cuddle with Emmrich for a while and complain about that bastard of a lord.

As soon as he entered the home he shared with Emmrich and their son, he saw the necromancer lying across the sofa, staring dramatically at the fire in the hearth and swirling a glass of red wine in his hand. Rook could tell just from his side profile that Emmrich was bothered by something, and the fact that he had his feet up on the furniture (something he constantly chastised Rook for doing).

Rook kicked off his shoes, pausing for a moment to line them neatly next to Emmrich's, and climbed over the back of the sofa to flop into the older man's lap.

"What's wrong?" Rook asked before stealing a sip of the wine. It was strong and made him grimace.

"Nothing."

Rook rolled his eyes. "Emmrich, we've been in a relationship for five years. I know when there's something wrong."

"Our son is awfully rude sometimes." Emmrich huffed. "He didn't want a bath, so when I tried to explain the importance of cleanliness to him he called me, and I quote, 'a boring poop'."

Rook struggled, and failed, to hold in a smile. Emmrich looked at him reproachfully. "Emmrich, he's three." Rook laughed. "When I said goodbye to him this morning and I'd miss him he just said 'fart'."

Emmrich smiled and buried his face into Rook's neck. "I was worried it was just me."

"That kid is ruthless. Told Lucanis his hair was weird." Rook kissed him quickly. "I did catch him talking to Johanna the other day so I think we've got to start locking that door."

"I dread to think what she's teaching him."

The funniest part to me about getting a much stronger response to hand, foot (in) mouth disease compared to my other two fics is that like. This one is a completely different vibe from the other ones and if anyone clicks on my author profile hoping to find other works they are in for a jump scare when they see the 20k piss denial fic that's waiting for them.

I think about Undertale the Musical alot.

Like this put Man on The Internet on the map for a reason. This is a four hour adaptation of a good portion of the undertale ost. Not only that but they wrote full lyrics for every single one, and had made I don't even know how pieces of original art for every single one as well. Many even including multiple stills and pieces and its like- WHAT the amount of effort that takes must have taken a very long time to pull off, not to mention that these started right around the time undertale released and was considered hot off the presses.

And it did. It took atleast a full year starting on May 4th in 2016 to atleast April 2017 (dates are a bit wonky to track). A full year dedicated to this. A project of this scale would never be reached again by the group and while the Man on The Internet crew would continue to make compilations and lyrical adoptions of various series, none would ever reach the heights that Undertale the Musical reached. I would say that this piece of Fandom could never possibly ever happen again. This was a once in a life time piece of interactive art made in real time. And it's beautiful.

"What's her Kryptonian name?"

Tim stays silent for a moment.

"She... doesn't have one," he finally says, quietly. "

He looks at his daughter, avoiding her father.

"Tim-"

"I- I couldn't, I'm sorry. I know, I could have asked Clark or Kara or- but it didn't feel right. It didn't feel- I'm sorry, I couldn't -"

And there's a hand around him.

"It's okay".

"No, it's not," Tim still doesn't look away from the child in his arm. "It's - it's also her culture. Her traditions. I was - I shouldn't left her out".

"You didn't," is the  quiet reply. "You did your best, and that is enough."

Tim is-

Tim is sitting there, a baby in his arms, and there's another's hand who wipes her face as he cries.

The question comes out of nowhere.

"Light?"

"No," Kon says. "Not in English. In that language you sometimes humm in. I remember you once gave an hour long lecture about why Kryptonian names doesn't make any sense. Something about Kal means easy or lightweighted?"

 There's a moment of confusion before Tim realises.

"Or"

"Or what?" Kon looks confused. "What are the options?"

"No, that's how you say light in Hebrew. 'Or'."

Kon's eyes widen with horror,"I'm not calling our daughter Orel! "

"It's actually pronounced Or-el, not o-re-l," Tim corrects him unnoticed.

"I mean, you can also have 'Ori', which means 'my light', or Uri- which is aort of, more ancient and less used? But it means 'my fire'. It's actually also considered to be one of the angels that sits over a newborn's cradle to-"

"Ori," Kon mumbles behind him. "my light. I like it. Ori-El. It's you and me, both of our history, but together. New. And it's a reminder: I'll always have a place to call home, I'll always have a light to guide me. Even in the darkest times."

Hey Martyn! So, I got into your lore because of Grian's Life Series, and now I'm just trying to find some stuff out. Anyways, I understand most of it, though I do have a couple questions.

What actually are LOOT shards/crystals? I know that they're soke aort of corruption in games of sorta, but how do they get there, how to they affect the game, and also how to disable them. It's just something I'm wondering about since I know you have to find the one piece, of treasure, but how does it actually help?

What are CHEST agents? I know that they're something almost as evil as Cruppy, which is really saying something, but what actually are they?

Are there any extra lore bits in Rats SMP that you can't get anywhere else? I just wanna know if I should grit my teeth and watch it sometime, when I'm done catching up on the VODs of Pirates (can't make it to streams for personal reasons, alas).

If you've come up with it, is there any way that the Watchers lore from the Life Series ties into the datastream hopper lore? Those two just seem a little incompatible to me - hopping the datastream, being captured by mysterious godlike entities... Or are they just two separate universes?

Do you plan on posting the New Life streams on your vods channel?

Who in Pirates is p!Martyn closest to in each faction, overall?

Also, I think you may have mentioned it on stream, but did you take the faction quiz and if so, which faction did you get? I kid you not, when I took it I got Kestrels all three times (with changing the answers to stuff that I would still do, but different than first time, I mean). Had to change it up just to see all the different faction descriptions...

2. C.H.E.S.T agents work are avatars controlled by human operators working for C.H.E.S.T and its evil underbelly. They're a known and trusted public computing corporation but the public doesn't know the full extent of their goals and resources

A lot of my New Life streams are me just doing the grindy parts of the SMP and with the server being somewhat inactive I want to save the crossover / collab content for the videos - I'm not sure people would flock to a 3 hour vod of me painfully and slowly building an outpost or hollowing out a mountain to make a factory ya know?

6. Kestrels - probably Sausage, with Oli as a close second. Herons - Owen or Water. Owen has an inquisitive gene like Martyn and Water likes all things musical. Nightingales - Ros is so different to Martyn that it makes for some wholesome and chaotic interations, you never know which you'll get. Kites - Bek is basically the only one he's interacted with, he had a little banter on the seas with Kuervo but it was brief
