Honestly at this point I'd really like to know the fucking salary at the O.I.A.R.
Because while in Archives, it is stated at some point that there was a pay upgrade to work in the Archives, which incitated people to take the position to later be stuck unable to quit, on the Protocol side we have the O.I.A.R, which is civil service.
It doesn't pay well. Even though the Institute in TMA is technically a non-profit organisation, I'm still pretty sure any position there pays better than a civil service job. So why did Alice stay ?
She isn't stupid, and maybe has a degree -- and even if she didn't, there are still jobs that doesn't need a degree out there. And she knows that working there is dangerous, which is why she turns a blind eye and pretend not to care.
But here's the thing : many of her lines suggest that at some point she did care. She probably was exactly like Jon, looking for answers and trying to know what was behind those cases, why were there recurring names, places, everything !
But she stopped, she decided to shut it down and turn a blind eye. My question is : why ? Why not quit ? She knows it's dangerous, she knows there are things that could get her killed, so why stay when the safest option is to quit and leave it behind ? And why tell Sam to come work there ? I mean, I get that he needed help, but if I knew my job was dangerous and that my friend was overly curious, I wouldn't recommend them to come here.
So I'm really asking how my the government pays her to stay.

Sometimes I feel like I'm working at the O.I.A.R. with how I catalogue things for writing, going through abnormalities (PM) and statements (TMA) like "well we can see that this is a transformative focused abnormality, however it is not 'transformative (self)' or '(journey'), rather it falls under 'transformative (environment)'" and all the meanwhile I'm talking about a fucking Clam:

This is so to say that I'm now doing a project on Limbus abnormalities because I already did this for Lob Corp

Can fear be a good thing? I think it can. It warn, and advises. Sure in some of us it screams, but we must always keep in mind why. Fear tries to protect us, keeps us alert and on our toes. It's what's kept so many species alive. A healthy amount of fear and caution.
Georgie, who takes your face?
Why are you so afraid of people finding out?
Specifically The Government?
Specifically specifically the O.I.A.R.?... It has to be specifically the O.I.A.R. Why don't you want the O.I.A.R. finding you Gerogie?

I’m just imagining a Jehovah’s Witness situation but less annoying. They probably show up after a sufficient amount of evidence is given for an external existing and go “yeah you can keep hugging people to death but we’re watching you”
You know what I'm wondering, how do the externals get hired? Like does Lena hear about them from a case and go and hire them? Is there a department whose whole job is to hire monsters? How do people who become avatars find out about the O.I.A.R? There used to be a response team right, was it just someone showing up at their door and being like "work for us or we'll fucking kill you." Do the horrors get paid for their service? Are they being blackmailed? Is there an HR department and can the externals file a complaint if they feel overworked? Now I'm just imagining Mr. Bonzo trying to file a complaint. This got away from me but I want to know how the externals came to work for the O.I.A.R.

Love the way Old White Men™ look at me when I whip into a gas station dressed in Hot Topic Business Casual and blasting Kim Petras
Like yeah bitch you can't comprehend the levels of cunt I'm serving.
(I looked like this btw, I look like I'm ready for my first day at the OIAR)

Been really enjoying how the Magnus Protocol has been playing with the idea of ✨️nostalgia✨️. Sam obsessing over the Magnus Institute, Alice wanting to rekindle her relationship with Sam, Celia looking into familiar names from TMA.  Even the monsters are a bit of a throwback - a mascot from a 90s TV show, a member of British aristocracy, [ERROR] with her cassette tapes.
And on a meta level - the listeners are playing into this nostalgia, too. The theories that Jon/Martin/Jonah are stuck in the computer. Our excitement at hearing familiar voices again. Trying to  assign the Smirke 14 to the O.I.A.R. cases...
The thing is - nostalgia is actually just  corrupting everyone. Sam's obsession is putting the O.I.A.R. crew in danger. Alice's attempts at reshaping their relationship to how it used to be is harming her current friendship with Sam. Celia's investigations just keep leading to dead ends.
And us, the listeners, our inclinations to apply the old lore from TMA to this new series...it might be causing us to miss some big clues in Protocol...
so yeah, I just think it's really cool how Magnus Protocol is playing with the dangers of nostalgia, especially considering it's a sequel!

The worst part is I would 100% love the job with O.I.A.R. in The Magnus Protocol.
I enjoy monotonous data entry and the creepy factor would keep it interesting.
Seriously. I would take that job in a heart beat
