I have a Magnus Protocol theory. Major Spoilers for TMA and TMAGP.

It's speculated that following Mag 200, Jon, Martin, and Jonah were pulled into the Protocol universe with the Fear Entities, putting them inside of a computer somehow.

I propose that in passing to a new universe, those three (or at least Jon) were also passed through a filter of sorts, seperating their human parts from their inhuman parts.

What about Jon was human by Mag 200?

I'd argue his body was inhuman in the same sense Michael, Hellen, or Jared's bodies weren't human. They operate differently fundementally and can do things humans can't do, you get the picture. And clearly his instincts weren't human either.

But Jon's mind was consistently his own throughout. All of his personality changes that happen were natural. His personality does not suddenly change without cause, rather his experiences shape him.

So my theory is that his mind was seperated from his body, getting put into Freddy somehow. What happened to his body, though?

What if Jon's body, inhuman as it was, is [ERROR]? It explains its ability to compell statements, its affinity for tape recorders recording statements, it having a physical presence but behaving in a way starkly unlike any avatar has before, all of it. In Episode 21, the transcript describes [ERROR] as "a nightmarish specter of an older world" which implies it is originated in the TMA universe.

Plus, we can say with certainty that Celia is from the TMA universe. Somehow she ended up in Protocol. But she's not a disembodied mind in a machine or a horrifying monster. Maybe that's because she's entirely human, so Celia could make the jump to Protocol without being changed. By this same logic, the Fear Entities wouldn't be changed either, because they're 100% inhuman, so for the same reason Celia is the same, so are they.

That's it really. Perhaps in future episodes, we'll encounter the inhuman parts of Jonah and Martin, but otherwise Filter Theory has a massive loose end.

Tmagp ep 22 stuff

Idk if anyone has said anything about it but did anyone else hear the breath from Augustus at the time code 8:04 on Spotify or was it just me? Because that actually gave me goosebumps because it felt like the voices were near to breaking character. And it still raises the question, if they're only text to speech voices why do they breathe?

Season 2 of The Magnus Protocol has begun and this is all I have to say about episode 31.

ok ok my buddies @elfloofermoofer and @deepforestgender and i were talking about protocols the other day and came up with a fun theory so here it is since this topic might become relevant soon in the story

the theory is based on four assumptions, those being that (1) there was supernatural stuff going on in the protocols-verse before the fears left magnus-verse, (2) the statements in the protocols-verse are not fueled by fear (at least not entirely), but by some other emotion, (3) the protocols-archivist is native to protocols-verse and that (4) the protocols-archivist was archivist-y even before the fears left magnus-verse!

if the protocols-verse has its own thing-that-is-fear (but that… isn’t fear) then that would explain the existence of the institute, but!!! so far we’ve had quite a few institute statements, but none of them have even a hint of eye-imagery (as far as i can remember, don’t kill me on this) or any other stuff really related to the eye. thirst for knowledge, sure, but it feels different to the eye’s institute. that’s because it’s not about the fear!!! it’s something else!!!

so if it’s not about the fear, why would they need an archivist? no idea! but they had one, and they were, presumably, connected to whatever ruled the institute before the magnus-verse set the fear-based entities loose. the theory here is that the eye, after escaping magnus-verse, ended up contaminating the protocols-archivist, making it both part of whatever it was before, and the eye! this also brings up something my friends and i have been talking about since the start of protocols, which is “are they (and if so how are they) going to top the end of the world??” because the setup for s5 of the magnus archives was amazing, so we’ve been talking about big-scale events that could match that in the protocols series. if there are two things-that-are-emotions in protocols-verse, then that could probably be apocalypse-level bad news. a big merging? metaphysical fear-fight? who knows!!!

I don't think I actually have many thoughts about about Alice "Daisy" Tonner.

For the song question I will just post this video below, because I think its funny. I often think about this fan song I saw on tumblr before I'd ever heard a single episode of tma, so whenever she came on this song would play in the back of my head. ("all cops are BASTARDS. I am GAY" is such an earworm)

For Alice Dyer: favorite thing about them: She's so fucking funny. A little sassy, a little mean at times, but always entertaining.

least favorite thing about them: I think her sense of humor, which is also my favorite thing about her, is a bit of a double-edged sword. Because she can also be really mean and dismissive at times.

favorite line: a selection: "Bones are a lie peddled by Big Milk" "I actually go by Alice now" "I'm not the one on all fours" "Closure is for movies, mate. All we get is manky holes."

brOTP: I think pre-season 1 finale I was really getting into the idea of her and celia as besties, but now I'm back to thinking her and gwen have the funniest possible workplace dynamic.

I love how people are freaking out abt the archivist buying a train ticket and being let on the train. But I think it's a you only see it if it wants you to see it situation. Bc a few cases back it was chasing that guy and the other dude didn't see it until the guy who was running collapsed. Also the guy taking tickets clearly didn't see it either.
