sally’s “i want him to know who he is, before your family tries to tell him who they want him to be.” and poseidon saying “he will be stronger for it on the other side. his mother raised him well.” and he is. percy is stronger on the other side. we’ve seen it so clearly through his quest. his confusion at how you have to earn the gods’ love, earn their respect. his conversation with annabeth on the train about it. his unwillingness to accept the ways of the gods. him realizing his mother wanted to keep him away from this world, and annabeth being the one to tell him that maybe it was for the better that sally did that. so that he wouldn’t be like them. annabeth’s “he isn’t that way. he’s better than that. maybe i was that way once. but i don’t want to be that way anymore.” the way percy would’ve turned out with a similar worldview to annabeth’s if he had been sent to camp so early on. and annabeth’s worldview changing so quickly after meeting percy. sally jackson raised that kid right. you would think that as a demigod, the half god side of percy is what’s important. but that’s not what makes him the hero. it’s the half mortal side of him that does. his humanity, his mortality, his mother. that is why percy is the hero that he is.

i was looking into macarshric and i really liked the way its described to have “volumes”. it reminded me of kenomel and the gender “tones” suggested by @/kenochoric.

would you be interested in making silent, steady, etc etc prefixes or suffixes so they can be added to other identities? i feel like there’s a gap in terminology in there which would be really cool to fill-out !

for example, [steady-prefix]femmasc. a steady-volume macarshric femmasc identity / gender. (not requesting this one in specific, just a proof of concept haha)

fot- : a prefix for macarshric identities with a loud volume, which are in-your-face, bold, echoing, and/or overwhelming

mez- : a prefix for macarshric identities with a steady volume, which are existent, avoidable, and/or ignorable

pio- : a prefix for macarshric identities with a soft volume, which are subtle, easy to miss, and/or aftereffects

nie- : a prefix for macarshric identities with a silent volume, which appear when one least expects it, are hard to spot, an aftertaste, hidden, and/or secretive

i derived these from music dynamic terms; 'forte' means loud, 'mezzo' is a modifier used to mean moderate or middling, 'piano' means soft, and 'niente' means nearly silent/at a whisper. i shortened each to three letters, similar to the gender tones mel, del, and pel!

Hey y’all, it’s been one fat minute since I’ve posted and I just wanted to give an update but for now I’ll ask you guys a question/confession. To be honest I think the only reason i haven’t given up on shifting even when my breaks last what seem forever or I just have no motivation, is really only one thing, and it’s not a thing it’s a person and for the life of me I can’t give it up because in my mind if I give up then my chances of meeting them are gone, and I don’t know why but that it’s self instills something in me. But being that back to my first thing as I mentioned in my last post I was gonna take a break and guys I kid you not I’ve been seeing so many angle numbers, I mean maybe it’s just my luck but for months I haven’t gotten any but all of the sudden it’s like there they are, I’ll probably wait till after the holiday season to shift or begin to who knows maybe I’ll start now. Thanks for reading this random update.
