For international folks, you can actually get him through proxy services like Neokyo. The process is straightforward:

Create an account.

Create a buy request. You just need to provide the link and fill out the other things they ask for, like what is the item's name.

They will review your request. It might take a few hours but check in occasionally on your dashboard because once they verify how much you have to pay, your "orders in review" item will move to "orders pending payment".

Garbage cleanup in Jabalia ♻️

I’m in daily contact with a small team of volunteers in northern غaza who are helping severely devastated families in the area. These are families in tents living among the rubble of their homes, as well as newly-displaced people.

🌱 So far, support has gone towards: cash aid distribution to the families; emergency healthcare for a patient; rent for a family facing eviction; and distribution of fresh vegetable parcels.

🌱 Their next project is for urgent waste removal. With the aid stoppage in early March, fuel is incredibly expensive—the municipalities have therefore been forced to stop waste collection, meaning that waste is piling up high in the streets. The waste leeches harmful chemicals, pollutes the air, and encourages disease-ridden insects and rodents into very crowded areas of people with virtually no shelter. If the team can purchase fuel, they’ll be able to get a truck to clear the waste in the area—this is vital for the health of these families who are overwhelmingly disabled with highly-vulnerable medical needs. Meanwhile, as of this weekend, all hospitals in the north are out of service, so any prevention of disease through civil initiatives is incredibly urgent.

President Donald Trump held a meeting at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu where he reaffirmed his stance on forcing Palestinians to relocate to Egypt and Jordan and then occupying the Gaza Strip under United States control. Trump boasted that Gaza would be the “Riviera of the Middle East” This is a full on support of ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people.

Congressional Democrats held a press conference and protested In front of the US Treasury after Elon Musk and 6 college students unlawfully gained access to sensitive information and payment distribution systems. Multiple lawsuits against Musk are being filed as we speak.

The United States Postal Service (USPS) announce all packages and parcels from China and Hong Kong have been suspended until further notice. Reason is speculated to be because of Trump’s tariffs.

Republicans have introduced a bill in the House of Representatives to ban OSHA (The Occupational Safety and Health Administration) This department ensures workplace safety and health within the workforce.

Trump signs an Executive Order withdrawing the US from the United Nations Human Rights Council with further explorations in withdrawing from the United Nations altogether.

The White House is drafting up plans to eliminate the Department of Education. This would be detrimental to underrepresented communities who look to the DOE for protections against discrimination, civil rights and school funding. Dozens of employees have already been placed on leave.

President Donald Trump is exploring options to send American prisoners to El Salvador. This would remove Constitutional protections for prisoners which could ultimately lead them to be subject to various human rights abuses.

The CIA has offered buyouts to all federal employees. Trump continues to purge longtime federal employees from the government in unprecedented and unlawful ways.

All USAID federal employees could be placed on administrative leave as soon as Friday.

The Senate Finance Committee has voted to advance the nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to lead the Dept of Health and Human Services. His confirmation now heads to the main Senate for a vote.

There has been a change in air transport, with unfortunate consequences for both safety and passenger comfort, writes Ilta-Sanomat.

"Disruptive behaviour has increased significantly since the years of the coronavirus pandemic. The phenomenon is global, not just Finnish," says Jari Pöntinen, Director of Aviation at the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom.

The rise in the phenomenon has not been quite as alarming in Finland as in the rest of Europe, but it is still clear trend. In 2020, 93 cases were reported in Finland, compared to 267 last year.

Several aviation industry stakeholders, including the police, border guard, customs and airlines have issued a joint statement on prevention measures which emphasises the reduction of incidents through communication with passengers, staff training and cooperation within the aviation community.

Inspector Miika Laine of the Eastern Uusimaa Police Department says that people are also loitering at airports without any intention to travel.

Various types of intoxicants are part of the problem both at airports and on planes. In Finland, alcohol is the most common contributing factor.

In addition to calming individuals causing a disruption, police measures can include removal from the scene, fines, criminal charges and arrests.

"Inappropriate behaviour includes swearing, insults and shouting. Drinking from your own bottle has become very common," Finnair's director of cabin safety, Ida Flykt, told Ilta-Sanomat.

Gambling law proposal rejected

Parliament's Social Affairs and Health Committee on Wednesday rejected a government proposal that would open gambling in Finland to competition from the beginning of next year.

Helsingin Sanomat reports that a majority of MPs on the committee believe that the government's proposal would increase the harm caused by gambling and responded to the proposal with a call to raise the age limit for all types of gambling to 20 years.

The Committee also stressed that gambling is not a normal consumer product, but a highly harmful and seriously addictive product, saying that the prevention and reduction of gambling-related harm should be the main objective of any new legislation.

Meanwhile, Iltalehti reports that the National Police Board has threatened to slap a 33,000-euro fine on a Finnish social media influencer for promoting commercial online gambling sites.

The influencer had shared links to gambling sites on Twitch and YouTube and broadcast live gambling on Twitch.

In late March, the Helsinki Administrative Court dismissed an appeal by the influencer against the ban on these promotional activities.

By law, the gaming operator Veikkaus has exclusive rights to organise gambling in mainland Finland.

According to the police, the marketing was targeted at Finland and Finns and was intended to promote gambling in Finland. Police welcome the court ruling, saying that gambling marketing is unequivocally prohibited in mainland Finland.

Changes in postal services

Major changes are coming to postal service deliveries in several Finnish cities.

Verkkouutiset writes that the national postal service, Posti, plans to end daily deliveries and introduce a new delivery model where mail will be delivered every two or three days. Delivery days will alternate, meaning that in practice, mail will be delivered twice one week and three times the next week. In addition, mail will increasingly be delivered in the mornings at the same time as newspapers.

The change will come into force in the Helsinki on 2 June. Leaflets announcing delivery changes have been distributed in Helsinki, Espoo, Forssa, Jyväskylä, Kuopio and Pori.

In addition to the distribution changes, Posti has announced that it will increase the prices of stamps and parcel charges.

End of term gifts

Many parents are currently thinking about how to show appreciation to teachers at schools and kindergartens as the end of the school year fast approaches.

One popular option, notes Uutissuomalainen is a gift card.

However, USU points out that giving money and gift vouchers to municipal officials, including teachers, is prohibited. In some cases, it can be interpreted as a bribe.

Municipal officials, employees and trustees are prohibited by law from asking for or receiving bribes. It is also a criminal offence to give a bribe to a public official. The law does not define what constitutes an appropriate gift in terms of quality and value and when it is an inappropriate bribe. The purpose of the rules is to safeguard confidence in the impartiality of public authorities.

In its guidance on this issue, the Association of Finnish Local and Regional Authorities does not take a position on whether a gift voucher is an appropriate gift for teachers, or not.

According to Kirsi Lamberg, a lawyer at the association, what kind of gift can be given to or accepted by an official is a case-by-case consideration.

"It is ultimately up to the recipient to decide whether the gift can be accepted in good faith," says Lamberg.

Nina Lahtinen, Head of Education Policy at the OAJ, the professional organisation for teachers, points out that there is a long tradition in the education sector of remembering teachers at the end of the academic year and that this is not intended as a bribe.

The OAJ has no official position on gift cards. According to Lahtinen, however, open cash vouchers should not be given, but vouchers for a specific item or service can be given if the value is reasonable.

Heidi Ruonala, a legal expert at the Finnish National Agency for Education, takes the same approach.

"Small and low-value mementos such as a candle, chocolate or a flower cannot be interpreted as a bribe," she assured Uutissuomalainen.

The financial situation in Rah Fah continues to decline, with intermediaries taking a 15-17% cut when people get cash out. He is so hopeful that this project will work out! Helping others and bringing smiles to faces–especially those of children–is clearly one of Seraj’s passions. 

Here are the project details, all thought up by Seraj himself. He has amazing ideas! 125-130 cash envelopes containing either 50 or 100 shekels each. Seraj will distribute them based on how large each family is. Seraj will also make 40 envelopes for kids, each containing 20 shekels. 

Currently, Seraj’s plan is to distribute his envelopes on the last day of Ramadan, before Eid al-Fitr. Last time he tried to print something, the printer had no electricity. He has a plan this time for checking in early to make sure he has a chance to print. 

Working with Seraj on his mutual aid projects has been such a tangible reminder that we reject the notion of charity (which is very rooted in the white savior complex and pity of Black and Brown folx), and even allyship (not enough action)  instead are partners and collaborators with Seraj self directing, leading us, and constantly motivating us to to get to the next goal so he can achieve his vision! 

 Because Seraj and his family have managed to survive, he’s been able to give back. No NGOs or governments, just a 21-year-old young man helping as many of his neighbors as he can. In his words, “This is my duty, sisters, as long as I can help! Why don't I do that!”

Seraj is genuinely a superstar to everyone on our team. His generosity is humbling to us. We have so much to learn from Pale-eh -steinians.

USPS bitch. It used to be mail went from the sender to the receiver in the most direct route. Cross county first class typically took two to three days. It was efficient and it worked. In 50 years of mail delivery I never had a single first class mail piece get lost and only 2 packages get lost or severely damaged.

Now we have huge expensive "Regional Distribution Facilities" and the mail goes from one to the other to the other in a crisscrossing and back tracking pattern. Often a piece of mail will cycle back and forth between two or even the same one of these RDFs. Where in the past, a piece of mail might handled two or three times before being delivered, now its handled eight or ten times. Typical first class mail cross country now takes eight to ten days. I've had three letters get lost in the past few years. About one out of four packages either doesn't arrive, arrives torn and empty or so damaged that I have to ask for a refund. This is Republican efficiency. Louis DeJoy single-handedly destroyed the USPS. I'm glad he's out. He should be prison. David Steiner in the new replacement. I have no hope he will fix things, as he is another profit at all costs business man with no experience in the USPS. This board member of FED EX has every reason to continue the destruction of the postal service DeJoy started.

Brian Renfroe, president of the National Association of Letter Carriers, the union representing carriers in cities, also opposes Steiner's appointment.

"His selection isn't just a conflict of interest—it's an aggressive step toward handing America's mail system over to corporate interests," Renfroe said in a statement. "Private shippers have been waiting to get USPS out of parcel delivery for years. Steiner's selection is an open invitation to do just that."

The United States Postal Service is not a business! It is not a company. It is a service. It is in the damn name. It is a service for the people of the United States not a gold mine for some group of wealthy investors to strip of all value. No postmaster general should ever be appointed who has not served in the ranks of the USPS for at least twenty years. No one should be allowed to serve on the postal service board of governors who has not also worked as a postal employee for 20 years.

Palestinians describe being treated like animals as chaos breaks out again at U.S.-run aid site in Gaza

Thursday marked the third day this week that the food distribution operation run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation devolved into chaos as too many people crowded through the site to obtain too little aid. The American company has been widely condemned by international aid agencies and the UN as complicit in the Israeli weaponization of aid for political aims, including using the aid as bait to lure Palestinians into concentrated ghettoes in Gaza to facilitate the Israeli army’s permanent occupation of the Strip and the displacement of its population.

Three people were killed by Israeli forces during the incident in Rafah on Tuesday, while 48 were injured and another seven were reported missing. At least one case has been reported of a person being detained at the Rafah distribution center after failing to answer a question about a relative. The distribution of aid resumed on Thursday after being briefly suspended in the wake of Tuesday’s incident. The new center is located northeast of the Netzarim Axis, which separates north and south Gaza, and has been used as a major strategic military position for the Israeli army throughout the genocide.

People headed to the aid center based on instructions sent to their mobile phones by the company. Contacting just a handful of families in Gaza, the news still spread like wildfire among the population in the area. Soon after, thousands flocked to the center.

Since famine conditions began to return to Gaza following Israel’s total food blockade on the strip with the breakdown of the ceasefire in mid-March, a state of anarchy has emerged due to Israel’s policy of targeting Gaza’s police force and civil servants responsible for providing services to the population. This has led to the rise of armed gangs backed by Israel that loot aid trucks. The Israeli army has also targeted and killed Gaza government personnel protecting the aid.

This policy of imposed chaos is now effectively being implemented on a small scale at the GHF aid distribution points. According to testimonies from the site north of Netzarim, the American company’s guards witnessed Palestinians using knives to steal food parcels from the hands of people who had already received them, without intervening.

“At first, when there were food boxes, each of us was able to get one box,” [Khaled] Murad explained. “But when the boxes ran out and the number of people increased, people turned on each other as the Americans watched.”

Omar Abed Rabbo, 33, was among those present at the center, but he was threatened by another man and forced to give up his food.

“It happened to me personally when someone brandished a knife in my face and prevented me from entering where the food was being stored,” Abed Rabbo said. “He seized the boxes and transferred them to a cart. This happened in front of security personnel, who were wearing vests marked ‘American Security.’ But they didn’t break up the melee or intervene in the thefts.” 

Abed Rabbo said that the American mercenaries were only present at the perimeter “to protect the distribution point.”

Carefully Allie lowered a wooden crate to the floor, fighting the urge to pant as she straightened and set hands on hips.  It had taken the better part of the day already slaving away under the sun and the watchful eye of the Courier Office manager.  It was exhausting work to get things organized and ready for distribution through the many couriers who slipped in and out on their way to and from deliveries.  Every Courier under this group had to take a turn here.  Or at least that’s how it was supposed to work.  Newbies and those under some kind of disciplinary action were usually tasked with the work.  What better way to learn the ropes and to punish those troublemakers?

Imposing Duties to Address the Flow of Illicit Drugs Across Our Northern Border

Issued February 1, 2025.

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C. 1701 et seq.) (IEEPA), the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.) (NEA), section 604 of the Trade Act of 1974, as amended (19 U.S.C. 2483), and section 301 of title 3, United States Code,

I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, find that the sustained influx of illicit opioids and other drugs has profound consequences on our Nation, endangering lives and putting a severe strain on our healthcare system, public services, and communities.

This challenge threatens the fabric of our society. Gang members, smugglers, human traffickers, and illicit drugs of all kinds have poured across our borders and into our communities. Canada has played a central role in these challenges, including by failing to devote sufficient attention and resources or meaningfully coordinate with United States law enforcement partners to effectively stem the tide of illicit drugs.

Drug trafficking organizations (DTOs) are the world's leading producers of fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, and other illicit drugs, and they cultivate, process, and distribute massive quantities of narcotics that fuel addiction and violence in communities across the United States. These DTOs often collaborate with transnational cartels to smuggle illicit drugs into the United States, utilizing clandestine airstrips, maritime routes, and overland corridors.

The challenges at our southern border are foremost in the public consciousness, but our northern border is not exempt from these issues. Criminal networks are implicated in human trafficking and smuggling operations, enabling unvetted illegal migration across our northern border. There is also a growing presence of Mexican cartels operating fentanyl and nitazene synthesis labs in Canada. The flow of illicit drugs like fentanyl to the United States through both illicit distribution networks and international mail -- due, in the case of the latter, to the existing administrative exemption from duty and taxes, also known as de minimis, under section 1321 of title 19, United States Code -- has created a public health crisis in the United States, as outlined in the Presidential Memorandum of January 20, 2025 (America First Trade Policy) and Executive Order 14157 of January 20, 2025 (Designating Cartels and Other Organizations as Foreign Terrorist Organizations and Specially Designated Global Terrorists). With respect to smuggling of illicit drugs across our northern border, Canada's Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre recently published a study on the laundering of proceeds of illicit synthetic opioids, which recognized Canada's heightened domestic production of fentanyl, largely from British Columbia, and its growing footprint within international narcotics distribution. Despite a North American dialogue on the public health impacts of illicit drugs since 2016, Canadian officials have acknowledged that the problem has only grown. And while U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) within the Department of Homeland Security seized, comparatively, much less fentanyl from Canada than from Mexico last year, fentanyl is so potent that even a very small parcel of the drug can cause many deaths and destruction to America families. In fact, the amount of fentanyl that crossed the northern border last year could kill 9.5 million Americans.

Immediate action is required to finally end this public health crisis and national emergency, which will not happen unless the compliance and cooperation of Canada is assured.

I hereby determine and order:

Section 1. (a) As President of the United States, my highest duty is the defense of the country and its citizens. A Nation without borders is not a nation at all. I will not stand by and allow our sovereignty to be eroded, our laws to be trampled, our citizens to be endangered, or our borders to be disrespected anymore.

I previously declared a national emergency with respect to the grave threat to the United States posed by the influx of illegal aliens and illicit drugs into the United States in Proclamation 10886 of January 20, 2025 (Declaring a National Emergency at the Southern Border). Pursuant to the NEA, I hereby expand the scope of the national emergency declared in that Proclamation to cover the threat to the safety and security of Americans, including the public health crisis of deaths due to the use of fentanyl and other illicit drugs, and the failure of Canada to do more to arrest, seize, detain, or otherwise intercept DTOs, other drug and human traffickers, criminals at large, and drugs. In addition, this failure to act on the part of Canada constitutes an unusual and extraordinary threat, which has its source in substantial part outside the United States, to the national security and foreign policy of the United States. I hereby declare and reiterate a national emergency under the NEA and IEEPA to deal with that threat. This national emergency requires decisive and immediate action, and I have decided to impose, consistent with law, ad valorem tariffs on articles that are products of Canada set forth in this order. In doing so, I invoke my authority under section 1702(a)(1)(B) of IEEPA and specifically find that action under other authority to impose tariffs is inadequate to address this unusual and extraordinary threat.

Sec. 2. (a) All articles that are products of Canada as defined by the Federal Register notice described in section 2(d) of this order (the Federal Register notice), shall be, consistent with law, subject to an additional 25 percent ad valorem rate of duty. Such rate of duty shall apply with respect to goods entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after 12:01am eastern time on February 4, 2025, except that goods entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, after such time that were loaded onto a vessel at the port of loading or in transit on the final mode of transport prior to entry into the United States before 12:01am eastern time on February 1, 2025, shall not be subject to such additional duty, only if the importer certifies to CBP as specified in the Federal Register notice.

(b) With respect to energy or energy resources, as defined in section B of Executive Order 14156 of January 20, 2025 (Declaring a National Energy Emergency), and as otherwise included in the Federal Register notice, such articles that are products of Canada as defined by the Federal Register notice shall be, consistent with law, subject to an additional 10 percent ad valorem rate of duty. Such rate of duty shall apply with respect to goods entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after 12:01am eastern time on February 4, 2025, except that goods entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, after such time that were loaded onto a vessel at the port of loading or in transit on the final mode of transport prior to entry into the United States before 12:01am eastern time on February 1, 2025, shall not be subject to such additional duty, only if the importer certifies to CBP as specified in the Federal Register notice.

(c) The rates of duty established by this order are in addition to any other duties, fees, exactions, or charges applicable to such imported articles.

(d) Should Canada retaliate against the United States in response to this action through import duties on United States exports to Canada or similar measures, the President may increase or expand in scope the duties imposed under this Executive Order to ensure the efficacy of this action.

(e) In order to establish the duty rate on imports of articles that are products of Canada, the Secretary of Homeland Security shall determine the modifications necessary to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) in order to effectuate this order consistent with law and shall make such modifications to the HTSUS through notice in the Federal Register. The modifications made to the HTSUS by this notice shall be effective with respect to goods entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after 12:01am eastern time on February 4, 2025, except as otherwise noted in subsection 2(a) of this section, and shall continue in effect until such actions are expressly reduced, modified, or terminated.

(f) Articles that are products of Canada, except those that are eligible for admission under "domestic status" as defined in 19 CFR 146.43, which are subject to the duties imposed by this order and are admitted into a United States foreign trade zone on or after 12:01am eastern time on February 4, 2025, except as otherwise noted in subsection 2(a) of this section, must be admitted as "privileged foreign status" as defined in 19 CFR 146.41. Such articles will be subject upon entry for consumption to the rates of duty related to the classification under the applicable HTSUS subheading in effect at the time of admittance into the United States foreign trade zone.

(g) No drawback shall be available with respect to the duties imposed pursuant to this order.

(h) For avoidance of doubt, duty-free de minimis treatment under 19 U.S.C. 1321 shall not be available for the articles described in subsection (a) of this section.

(i) Any prior Presidential Proclamation, Executive Order, or other presidential directive or guidance related to trade with Canada that is inconsistent with the direction in this order is hereby terminated, suspended, or modified to the extent necessary to give full effect to this order.

(j) The articles described in subsection (a) of this section shall include those encompassed by 50 U.S.C. 1702(b).

Sec. 3. (a) The Secretary of Homeland Security shall regularly consult with the Secretary of State, the Attorney General, the Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs, and the Assistant to the President for Homeland Security on the situation at our northern border. The Secretary of Homeland Security shall inform the President of any circumstances that, in the opinion of the Secretary of Homeland Security, indicate that the Government of Canada has taken adequate steps to alleviate the opioid crisis through cooperative actions. Upon the President's determination of sufficient action to alleviate the crisis, the tariffs described in section 2 of this order will be removed.

(b) The Secretary of Homeland Security, in coordination with the Secretary of State, the Attorney General, the Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs, and the Assistant to the President for Homeland Security shall recommend additional action, if necessary, should the Government of Canada fail to take adequate steps to alleviate the illicit drug crises through cooperative enforcement actions.

Sec. 4. The Secretary of Homeland Security, in consultation with the Secretary of the Treasury, the Attorney General, and the Secretary of Commerce, is hereby authorized to take such actions, including adopting rules and regulations, and to employ all powers granted to me by IEEPA as may be necessary to implement this order. The Secretary of Homeland Security may, consistent with applicable law, redelegate any of these functions within the Department of Homeland Security. All agencies shall take all appropriate measures within their authority to implement this order.

Sec. 5. The Secretary of Homeland Security, in coordination with the Secretary of the Treasury, the Attorney General, the Secretary of Commerce, the Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs, and the Assistant to the President for Homeland Security, is hereby authorized to submit recurring and final reports to the Congress on the national emergency under IEEPA declared in this order, consistent with section 401(c) of the NEA (50 U.S.C. 1641(c)) and section 204(c) of IEEPA (50 U.S.C. 1703(c)).

Sec. 6. General Provisions. (a) Nothing in this order shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect:

(i) the authority granted by law to an executive department, agency, or the head thereof; or

(ii) the functions of the Director of the Office of Management and Budget relating to budgetary, administrative, or legislative proposals.

(b) This order shall be implemented consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations.

(c) This order is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.

March 6 (UPI) -- Sending and receiving letters in Denmark will take a big hit by 2026 as its national postal service will stop letter deliveries when 2025 comes to a close.

The Nordic nation has had a national postal service since 1624, but the current state-run postal service PostNord says that due to a 90% drop-off in letter volume since 2000, it's ending its letter-carrying services.

"We will continue to deliver letters throughout the year, before delivering the last letters at the turn of the year in 2026." CEO of PostNord Denmark Kim Pedersen said in a press release.

PostNord will begin to remove Denmark's current 1500 red mailboxes starting in June.

Letters can continue to be received and sent however, according to Transport Minister Thomas Danielsen who says "a free market for both letters and parcels" will remain in place.

More than a thousand workers will lose their jobs as a result of the change.

"It's a super sad day. Not just for our department with 20-30 people, [which is] closing down at the end of the year. It's for 1,500 people who face an uncertain future," PostNord employee Anders Raun Mikkelsen said.

The move is also a result of Danes moving to digital communication, as they typically keep all personal identifications and information on their cell phones, and the use of cash has also become uncommon. Public services utilize a Digital Post app, and local authorities send all alerts electronically.
