i'm working on an Arcane AU (still very much in development/ a WIP) where Zaun/the undercity and Piltover develop a cure/antidote for the grey. (open the readmore for part 1, and here is a link to part two)

So I wanted to document it so far! Here are my notes. It started with an image that came into my head while I was having a nap on January 23rd 2025. What I was picturing was the hall Jayce and Viktor are in when they try to break into Heimerdinger's lab in season 1 (using the ring of keys Viktor has) but instead of it being Heimerdinger's lab in that place it's a different room, one that has a sort of intricate/elaborate gate/window along the wall which has a golden frame inside of which it has floral gold details filling in the space, but with gaps big enough to see through to the room inside. I'd like to illustrate the image in my head sometime~! And the room is instead Jayce and Viktor's lab. edit: I'd also like to note that in this AU their lab has a natural window with sunlight. I think it's important for their health and it's a detail that makes me happy~. For awhile it has troubled me that Zaun/the undercity (as well as Piltover) have little to no/inadequate mental health services and bodily healthcare. Characters like Viktor either go without the proper care or have to resort to shimmer to heal themselves. I imagine the cure is in the form of a patch (microdart style) where the user would apply them over time. In order to heal Viktor it had been developed long before his illness gained traction/severity to become his disability/life threatening illness. (I was greatly inspired by the development of the covid medicine).

As a result, if treated early enough (as a child) Viktor could be healthy as an adult. In doing so though, this does eliminate a large part of his drive as a character. To counteract this, I have been brainstorming some logistics/elements/ideas to expand on this universe and the details behind it. In Viktor's commune in season 2 their society operated on a left wing ideological/style of pioneer style trade/communism (I don't know what to call it). If they had the mental health / bodily healthcare resources I think it could have blossomed into the next level of community. In addition, if A) Shimmer B) Ambessa/Noxis and C) Jinx blowing up the council weren't a factor Viktor's commune could be viable solution. As well, Viktor was only able to start the commune because of his power. ~~~ continued in part two!

An Unexpected Match (Part 1)

Pairing:Newt x female reader

Summary:Despite Newt's interest in you, you try and prove what getting close would do to him

Everyone likes Newt. It's almost impossible to feel anything negative towards the sweet blonde boy, and I see why. He's responsible, kind hearted, and caring. So I definitely understand why you could be attached to him.

That's why I stay away from him. I am the opposite, rebellious, loud, and sarcastic, and had a temper. I decided that means I should just avoid him. I already know he wouldn't want anything to do with me. It's probably the one logical decision I've stuck to.

Then, a day came that I never expected. He walked up to me to have a regular conversation. I found an excuse and walked off. I don't know why he suddenly decided he should talk to me, but it wasn't a very bright decision. He knows I've been put in the pit several times, and there's a reason most Glader's don't hang out with me. Why would he try and be around me?

The question whirled around in my head the entire day and only irritated me. Hadn't it been obvious I'm trying to stay away from people, especially him, to look out for them? Apparently, not.

Acting on impulse I stomped over to where he was with his friends. He looked up at me and smiled.

"What's wrong with you?"I asked, not knowing how to start the conversation.

"What do you mean?"He asked, completely unaffected.

For some reason him not reacting in some negative way was making this worse.

"You just waltz on up like I haven't been avoiding you the entire time here? Why in the world would you do something like that?"I asked. He suddenly looked nervous. "See? This is exactly why you stay away from me,"I stated, walking off.

"You don't scare me, you know?"He asked, seeming to appear right next to me.

"Yeah. Because I avoid you, and I wouldn't scare you. I'd hurt your feelings without meaning to so it's a great idea if we keep this thing of not talking to each other up."

"What if I think you're a good person?"He questioned.

"Then, you're blind,"I shrugged, walking into the Deadheads in hopes he would leave. Instead, he walked right alongside me.

"If you were a bad person you wouldn't keep trying to avoid people."

"Why do you care?"I snapped, walking further in and looking at all the trees so I didn't have to look him in the eyes.

"Maybe I want to be close to you."

I looked at him and raised an eyebrow before stepping closer to him. He seemed just as unaffected.

"Oh, you sweet, gullible, blonde. I will never be someone you want to know. Just when you think you can tolerate me I'll end up tearing you down without even realizing,"I warned.

"You think I'm sweet?"He asked, ignoring my words.

"Stop that,"I demanded.

"Stop what?"He asked, not having a clue.

"Stop thinking you can get close to me."

"But I can."

"Do you really believe that?"I asked, now inches away from his face.

"Of course I do."

"Fine then. I'll be close to you,"I whispered in his ear. I could tell there were clear goosebumps on his skin. "That's one effect I have on people,"I whispered, pulling away.

"What's the other one?"

I didn't answer with words. Instead, I showed him by placing a soft kiss to his lips. He seemed to freeze until I pulled away.

"That one. Now you've been close to me. Don't ask again love,"I whispered, leaving him standing there. This time he didn't bother to follow me. Why would he? I had just shown exactly what mind games I could play.

If only I had realized I had only pulled him in more.

Nuclear Energy and Geography

Did you know that there are 13 main types of Nuclear reactors in use in the 20th and 21st centuries? They each do the same thing, generate electricity, but they do so in unique ways. The world is like that. Humanity is neither one world nor many worlds. It is, instead, a nuclear reactor, a complex organism that is simultaneously a complete object, made up of many smaller components. Nuclear reactors are highly complex and refined tools used to generate power; however, different designs are used in various areas that need specific results. This is similar to cultural preferences in food and clothing in the context of human geography. A people group who live in the mountains will eat food available there and dress for that type of weather. This is similar to the MAGNOX reactors used by Britain, which made use of naturally occurring graphite. This essay will highlight the unity and differences in our world that create a unified earth, separated by particular needs and cultural differences. They will be showcased through an explanation of the following modern nuclear reactor styles: PWR, BWR, and AGR. PWR will showcase humanity's use of languages and how that use can unify or destroy relations. BWR will showcase how cultural diffusion and mobility impact and shape our planet. AGR will highlight how humans use hope and other primal concepts to create our own saviors. PWR reactors, also known as pressurized water reactors, are some of the most common in the US. They are known for keeping potentially contaminated coolant water separate from clean water, which is then turned into steam for power generation. So, what does a popular form of reactor have to do with the united division of Earth? A whole lot! PWR reactors are like language. Did you know that it is estimated that the entire Earth contains over 7,100 different languages, and that every 14 days, a language disappears? ()PWR reactors, much like the top 10 most widely spoken languages on Earth, tend to overshadow smaller reactors or languages. Sometimes it's for good reason; PWR reactors are known to be safe due to their containment system. Popular languages are popular because there are more speakers and are thus used in more areas. The top ten most popular languages are found on page …. Of “Textbook name here” and are as follows: Unfortunately, though, this can sometimes cause cultural erasure, as the ease of using one of the top 10 languages, can cause stories or other idiomadic cultural aspects of the original people groups to be lost. The best way to think of the Earth is like bubble wrap. Each bubble is separated, but connected. None can exist without the other. Earth cannot be divided because its languages are based on similar concepts and communicate needs. However, she cannot be united because the methods of communication are vastly different from each other. The most popular languages around the globe connect the minor dialects and terminology. Some languages are spoken by millions, such as Chinese or Irish; others are on the verge of extinction with fewer than 1,000 native speakers, such as Seri. Each of these languages offers insight into their cultures and communities. Language is intertwined with identity, making it an essential part of humanity and human culture. It unites us by allowing communication. But it can divide us if someone does not speak the same language! This division can be minor, such as having difficulties asking where the milk is in a grocery store or needing a separate menu at a restaurant. However, sometimes these minor issues can turn into great disputes. Unfortunately, spoken language is easy to notice when looking for cultural differences. Thus, sometimes speaking a foreign tongue can cause conflict with others. Some people argue that the best way to avoid this conflict is to submit to a unified, global tongue, spoken by all. This would, of course, alleviate conflicts and make the Earth a less divided planet. However, as with any form of cultural change, it runs the risk of losing the distinctive aspects of individual people groups.

i kind of spent my whole afternoon outside but it was nice. as i was getting my things together to leave though, i noticed an area that looked like it wasn't doing too well. a lot of the plants were wilting and as it went further many had already died. i'm out here pretty regularly and haven't noticed it before so im not sure what's making it happen all of a sudden now. it's starting to get dark though so i can't look into it a lot more today but i may come back tomorrow. it's weird
