I hate piratesoftware so much. He is so annoying and talks out of his ass. I'm not a programmer, or game developer but I am a fan of ross scott, and stop killing games. Thor missed the point so hard and defended a terrible business model when he talked about stop killing games. He is so far up his own ass I can't stand him.

Been following PirateSoftware for months because he seemed like such a cool chill inspirational dude doing good in the world bc he understands how bad evil corporations and pyramid schemes and shit are, and now all of a sudden his content is about this stupid guild he started called <OnlyFangs> (because only trolls are allowed in). Like this type of oppression suddenly isn't a big deal when it's done to women only.

I would love to bring up how against his brand this is bc OF is a pyramid scheme that chews poor women up and spits them out but you KNOW I'd be the big bitch in the room if I did that

Reading Comprehension/Effort

Im gonna be 'old man yelling at cloud' here for a moment, but I agree with piratesoftware on the problem with shorts and short-form content. For clarification: his position is that shorts should not be their own content, that shorts should in-fact be a 'cold open', a starting of a conversation to entice people into the longer form of content about that subject. His reasoning? Shorts don't allow for context, and majority of discussions and issues require context, and as such shorts provide an innacurate view of any and all subjects they discuss regardless of topic because they physically do not have the space to explain nuance. So he doesnt use his shorts for pithy gotcha shit, he uses it to entice people into longer videos of said subject where he can actually discuss the topic in proper depth.

But now, people are so horrendously addicted to immediate easy to consume dopamine content in shorts and tiktok and all that shit, that it's legitimately destroying their attention spans and not just fucking with their reading comprehension, but actively negating their ability to engage with ANY media in ANY capacity in the first place.

Guys... please... ACTUALLY ENGAGE IN FUCKING MEDIA.

You use the arts to mindlessly dissasociate but there won't be any of the arts left if you don't engage in it.

And maybe, just maybe, if you try engaging in the arts with some level of good faith, maybe you'll stop dissaociating when doing so and actually finding nuance, philosophy, and expanding your mind and education a little.

Grow up and stop expecting dopamine to be flooding your veins within the first 30 seconds.

i'm begging you all to take anything you hear about tech news from this website, twitter, or basically anyone who isn't a tech person with the biggest grain of salt in the world oh my god.

There's a big issue i've noticed where people who are critical of big tech fully fall for the grandstanding big tech marketing hype articles and then use that to get people upset and anxious about the development of this tech. When in actuality it's literally just baseless shareholder hype bullshit with no actual connection to the current state of the tech at hand. Like yall are actively falling for the dumb marketing misinformation and using that to get people upset about something that is not a realistic concern at all.

I kinda suspected that thor/piratesoftware was due for some controversy. He just speaks authoritatively on too many topics at too fast a pace to not clothesline himself on some noxious discourse.

I did not expect it would be from leaving his teammates characters to die in an MMO, acting haughty and dismissive about it, and the response be from people acting like if you die in the game you die in real life.
