#Player is a menace

The Player wandering off like this makes the first art for this au (where Doey is just Holding them, one handed, up off the ground) extra funny to me.

Like "you disappeared as soon as I took my eyes off you, I'm not letting you out of my sight Ever Again."

Also lucky for the toys the Player is so scatterbrained, if they're stopping everyone few hops to look at something, the others have time to catch up before they hop hop hop into harms way.

That was kind of the point of the first artwork :D. Even before doey grew attached to player he saw them do very stupid things. While trying to bring them to safe haven, They were actively trying to pet Yarnaby without being caught. Were carrying around a lemon with a face. They also climbed the wall to get a ball back for one of the mini kissy's and face planted head first into the floor when they celebrated mid rescue of the ball. (dont worry the ball was okay)

But yea, they tend to disappear and do stupid things if left alone for one second. So after everything is calmer. Doey is not letting them out of his sights again. In all honesty he wonders how this single idiot managed to not only survive this long, but survive without being experimented on when they first worked at playco.

Despite being scatter brained and on the verge of passing out, player is fast even on one leg. So while they are slower than before they still are a bit ahead of the toys. But they are very close to face planting everytime they hop so maybe the toys can catch up sooner.

Here is players full design from when they snuck in to playco. Before they went a bit feral. Still reckless and stupid but still at a normal degree.

Has Menace!Danny ever gotten into a fight at school?

Bruce's emergency phone goes off in the middle of a WE Board meeting. He had always started any meetings by explaining that his emergency phone was the one he used for his children's emergency contact listings and for the children themselves to reach him if they absolutely needed to.

He would always have it on to answer, no matter how important the meeting was. They have all accepted it long ago that Bruce would never back down on that rule.

It was a necessity after all the kidnapping attempts on his children, and it's unfortunately rung before. Still, this knowledge doesn't stop the cold terror from sinking into their stomachs as Bruce scrambles to answer.

The board holds their breath as Bruce rasps, "Hello? Yes, this is he."

There is a moment of silence before the CEO jumps to his feet, scrambling to gather his things. He doesn't look in their direction, eyes unusually serious as he listens carefully to the other person.

"Which hospital was he taken to? How bad are his injuries? The ones who did that to him, where are they?"

Oh no. A few board members think. One of the Wayne boys was attacked.

Bruce pauses in his movements, going white. "He what?"

Susan from Accounting gasps, pressing her hands over her mouth. Seh recognizes that look on his face. Bruce wore the same look the night he had heard about Riddler taking a entire school bus of children- in including his second oldest, Dick- and three of the students had not made it before Batman was able to take him down.

She sends Tom a horrified look as the man grimaces, tapping on his phone to check in on his teenage daughter. She goes to school with a few of the Wayne children, which means that if something happened, she may have been affected.

Susan can't blame him. Her nephew is two years older than Danny Fenton-Wayne, and the number of attacks targeting the Academy to reach that boy had gripped her in worry for years. She pulls out her phone to send him a text, too, praying that whatever happened, it happened to one of the younger ones or away from her nephew.

A horrible thought to have, but one she has often.

Thankfully, Alex was set to graduate soon and was no longer in danger, which is her only comfort as she presses send.

"How bad was it?" Bruce finally whispers, face white as milk. The board stiffens, glancing at each other, but no one dares to say anything as Bruce finishes packing up and running to the door. He doesn't even give a by your leave, which means that it was bad. " I understand. Yes. I'll be there in twenty minutes."

The door slams closed behind as multiple pings go off in the room. Tom and Susan are the fastest to check their phones. They blink at the letters before Tom rubs his face with a sigh. "Of course it was about that one."

"What?" Amy gasps, rubbing her hands. "What happened at Gotham Academy? Someone tell me something, my little cousin isn't answering!"

"Danny Fenton-Wayne happened. He sent the entire football team to the ER." Tom sighs, waving his phone. "My daughter said they found out there was a hole that let them see into the girls' changing room and had spent the last few months taking videos and photos. The photo of an underwear-clad Barbara Gordon got passed around, with none of the team players admitting who took it and shared it. The school discipline board was going to just slap them all with a three-day in-school suspension, and Fenton-Wayne thought it wasn't enough. He took matters into his own hands. He jumped the team."

"Wait, the kid took on the whole Football team?" Neil scoffs. He wasn't from Gotham, so he's not in the know about the eldest Wayne child. "No wonder, he ended up in the hospital."

"No." Susan gasps, watching her nephew's texts come flying in at neck-breaking speeds. "No, Danny Fenton-Wayne isn't the one in the hospital. He.... he beat the entire team, including the ones on reserve, and then drove them to the ER. Technically, he kidnapped them for medical attention for injuries he caused. He was lecturing them the entire time about respecting women."

The room is silent, and then they all shiver. That kid was not normal.

"I think they are going to expel him." Tom continues, face pulled into a tight frown. His phone screen is also blowing up with updates from his girl. Susan can see a lot of rage emojis. "My daughter and almost all female students are going to protest his punishment since he was the only one protecting them. She wants me to help plan a walk-out at the next PTA meeting."

"Are you?" Amy asks.

Tom's eyes flash. "Of course. My daughter uses that changing room. How dare they."

"I'll help," Amy announces, tapping on her laptop keyboard. She's the youngest in the room a intern that just got hired while in her first year of college. Her whole job was to take notes, which is why her fingers fly at a speed that's almost awe-inspiring to see. "I just made a post to the Phantom's official blog. We'll have a mob in an hour."

Two hours later, Amy's words came true as the school was surrounded by half the city demanding that Danny Fenton-Wayne's punishment be overturned or lowered. Many of them were mad for the crime the football team committed, but most are there after a video of Phantom reacting to the News was posted.

The hero had cried at the horrible news. He personally went to Gotham Academy to fix up the girls' changing room, installing changing rooms with curtain walls, sad that he had to resort to that measure.

The people were ready to riot in his name.

One thing that Deltarune seems to keep coming back to is the idea of being discarded. Or, to put it more accurately, to be cast aside and made obsolete by circumstances entirely outside of your control. We see this in the very beginning with the vessel we create - the narration literally says it "will now be discarded" before we can even inhabit it. We see echoes of this in Jevil and Spamton, both being made from objects that are generally discarded (literally in the former's case) and are desperately reaching out for some form of freedom and control over their destinies. We can even see it reflected in the teens of Hometown, who in one sense or another have been left behind by events outside of their control.

And this throughline has me thinking. At some point, I feel that the fun gang - more specifically Kris and Ralsei - are going to turn on us in an attempt to reclaim some sense of agency for themselves (see the concept art of the two of them holding a sword and facing us, which I talk about in more detail here), and that WE will end up being discarded in much the same way that the vessel was. Perhaps we reunite with the vessel as a result of this, and must spend a portion of the game trying to regain some semblance of influence over the story, bumping into the Fun Gang (or perhaps just Kris by themself) in an attempt to convince them to, if not necessarily let us possess them again, then at least to accompany them to their journey's conclusion.

Perhaps we would even have to fight the Fun Gang in said attempt to convince them. Perhaps our vessel would occupy the right hand side of the screen, much as a boss might. Much like someone like Jevil or Spamton might.

That's right - I think that there's a not-zero percent chance that in a future chapter, we will become our OWN secret boss.

after playing thru the game entirely the dudebros who complained about the hans romance being forced upon the player are even more ridiculous BC if anything is forced on henry it's the female love interests, who the game tries to nudge you into romancing at every turn, to the point that you can just romance Katherine without committing to a single flirt option let alone a heart one lol if Hans wasn't an option in this game henry would be the most painfully heterosexual playboy ever

Toy player

I have seen various types of player if they had been turned into a toy so here is my take on it.

Player was pushed into a toy machine because they accidentally took someone's sandwich. In typical playtime co fashion they ran with it. Instead of being a smaller toy they are apart of the bigger bodies initiative. They are a bit bigger than other bigger bodies due to being much older than the kids.

They are unique. Made from a scrapped toy idea. yellow human mannequin, that can swap out its body parts.

The hands and feet are interchangeable grab pack hands. These hands have a launching mechanism like the grab pack. Player has four arms, this is to resemble their human counterpart having the grab pack. their feet are purple pad launchers in the shape of hooves.

They hold high intellect. They are still very much human. wearing clothes despite not needing to. Safe haven found them wandering no mans land, breaking any and all of the doctors traps and robotic bodies. Yarnabey fears player, having been chased by player multiple times. (Player wanted to pet yarnabey) they are still themselves.

Player helps out in safe haven. To the toys it is hard to tell who player is or was before becoming a toy. They appear mute, and have a tendency to be both immature and highly cunning.

They have helped doey do supply runs. wearing a blanket with a pocket on it to hold more food or items.

Player is like the parent of safe haven, with them their doey is not forced into the sole protector role.

When they escape, they manage to get to an abandoned farm house. That use to belong to their grandparent. Now this farm house is seen as haunted and not to be trespassed on.
