4. Strengthening and Muscle Toning
Gradual, low-impact movements strengthen weakened muscles and promote faster recovery.
5. Improved Circulation and Healing
Specific poses encourage blood flow to areas that need healing, which can accelerate the recovery process.
Safe Medical Yoga Practices for Different Types of Surgeries
Depending on the type of surgery, specific yoga practices may be more suitable:
1. Abdominal Surgery Recovery
Focus on gentle breathing exercises (Pranayama) to ease discomfort without straining the abdominal area. Cat-Cow Pose and Child’s Pose help relieve tension safely.
2. Orthopedic Surgery Recovery
For joint and bone surgery, poses like Supported Bridge Pose and Legs-Up-the-Wall aid circulation without putting pressure on healing joints.
3. Cardiac Surgery Recovery
Simple poses such as Seated Forward Bend and Gentle Twists improve circulation, with a focus on controlled breathing to enhance cardiovascular recovery.

Hello Miss Raven! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to ask.. About the new Vil's Birthday Grooovy. I'm curious about your thoughts since you make analysis for cards as well 😭
I'm so surprised when I just saw it-
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I do write the occasional analysis for card illustration (which you can read here and here)! But I usually mark what is and isn't an analysis with tags. Most posts where I discuss card art + groovies are just opinion pieces! What is going ON at Twst HQ… 😭
On one hand, yeah, if you're going to do a sleepwear themed line, it makes sense to have... feet out. It's not like there weren't other scenarios where it made sense to have exposed feet. Leona has them out in his school uniform outfit all the time, the Scarabia dorm uniforms have sandals, the Beachwear boys and Silk Adorned boys had sandals as well. I think the difference for me is that in most of these cases, the footwear was not visible in their card art. The only exceptions are the initial artwork for Beachwear Floyd and Lilia + Silk Adorned Vil--but even then, they weren't egregious because Floyd's feet are blurred/out of focus, Lilia's are off to the left of the art and not front and center, and Vil's toes were cut off in the shot. Not the case for Relax in Room Floyd and Vil 💦 They're... very much there in full, centered and pretty detailed. It's a new angle for Twst, so it's very jarring.
Vil is a character that has extensive routines, which do involve yoga. So... in-universe, this composition for his groovy makes sense for him. The pose could have been something else for sure, but 💦 I'm sure some people must like this...? (Otherwise why would Twst make multiple of these?) But it's definitely not for me.
Feet aside, I was very shocked by. The Vil boobage 💀 It's not that his physique is different than what I thought it was (he takes care of himself and is clearly fit), I just... I DUNNO, IT'S SO DARING TO HAVE'M OUT LIKE THAT. (<- possessed by the spirit of Rollo) I know it's not the only time; his Luxe Couture outfit was low-cut too (and even his Beans Camo was pretty tight) sbdkhyuasareora I'm not used to it, I guess...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The suddenly detailed teeth, dramatically scattering the (fake) money, fucking expression… IT REAALLY iS THE SAME ENERGY 🫣
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
SO MANY TIMES… *clenches fist like Arthur*
I checked again and I think the count is closer to 4?? Ace and Trey I can kind of excuse since their feet aren't in the center of their artworks, but Floyd and Vil traumatized me OTL
Yeah, I've seen many Kakegurui jokes around Azul's Clubwear groovy... (One of them is right above this ask!) abhlafbaefiygriygina NOT IDIA ACTING LIKE A FUCKING DEVASTATED ANIME CHARACTER WHEN HE'S LOST AT A CHILDREN'S CARD GAME. I can practically hear his wailing and Azuk's gloating... Guys, calm down 💀 It's MONOPOLY. ... Side note, how the heck is all of Idia's hair fitting into that hood. Does the inside of that hood warp space and time or something???
Aaaahhh 💦 Thank you for checking in on me! I didn't want to make a big deal of it; the announcement was just meant to be a little bit of a blog update + explanation of where I'd be for a while--but I appreciate all the well wishes people have been sending in. Trying to not think too much about the areas they operated on! I think when I do, the discomfort flares www

New Uroboros!Wesker AU details
Hunk makes a couple of appearances
The Uroboros tendrils that involuntarily grow from his damaged side also grow internally, which sometimes affect his internal organs including his heart. There have been a couple of incidents where the tendrils were constricting around his heart and arteries tight enough to cut off blood flow, giving him a heart attack and almost killing him. He had to undergo an immediate operation to remove the tendrils. Because of the risk the tendrils will keep growing back and potentially kill him, they operated on him (with Wesker's consent) and implanted a total artificial heart 2 weeks later. That way if the tendrils constricted around his heart again he wouldn't suffer further heart attacks.
The artificial heart is almost twice the size of a normal heart to compensate for his now large body, just like a Tyrant.
Since the operation he has been feeling anxiety about his mortality; he's basically a regular oversized human now, weaknesses and all; he doesn't like how vulnerable he is now
When Wesker was recovering from his operations Chris would stay with him during the night to make sure nothing happened post-op; Wesker isn't aware he did that because Chris would leave before he woke up (Chris is concerned for him but doesn't want Wesker to know)
Every week he gets checked up on and examined
His legs are scarred from being in the lava
Wesker's clothes and arm/shoulder brace had to be custom made
He has a long range tracker implanted in his nape between two vertebrae
He still thinks of Birkin from time to time
He meditates and practices Tai Chi and Yoga to keep his mind and body fit; it's awkward doing it with an arm missing but he manages well enough; Chris sometimes joins him
Chris and Wesker have a mutual arrangement; if the two get into an argument where neither one of them will back down, they have a sparring match to decide the 'winner' of the argument.
Wesker suspects the BSAA have an ulterior motive that Chris is unaware of; he finds it suspicious that they're so intent on keeping him alive considering how dangerous he was and still could be, and that they might use his work against him

Zen and the Art of Tumblr Scrolling
Lying on my back in Shavasana at yoga on Monday, I tried to work out whether I had entered a flow state at any point during the practice. Was I in flow right now? The fact that I was thinking about it indicated that I probably wasn’t, but you never know.
Since watching The Alpinist at the weekend, I have been thinking about flow a lot. The film is a documentary about Marc-Andre LeClerc, a Canadian climber who performed record-breaking feats in the world of Alpine climbing, mostly by himself with no one else even knowing he was there.
Sign up for The University Challenge Review
Having another person or a camera filming him reduced the sense of flow he got from the climbing. The removal of all potential safety nets added to his sense of serenity, to the deepness of the flow state that he could achieve while climbing.
Tumblr media
Other professional sportspeople often talk about entering the zone, a mental state where they are nothing but pure focus, acting on the instinct of infinite practice sessions, not consciously thinking about anything whatsoever, only doing.
You can reach it by writing too. I do so sometimes, most often if I am writing by hand or if I turn off the WiFi. Perhaps the most famous method is meditation. Which seeks to reach the state of empty-brainedness using nothing but thought, or rather, the absence of thought. This feels a lot harder than reaching it by writing, but a lot easier than reaching it by ice-climbing a frozen waterfall.
We have seen plenty of examples of people in a flow state on University Challenge, acting without thinking, accessing their knowledge from a place they aren’t really aware of in the moment. Thinking consciously is too slow, and they need to be fast, to be able to enter a zen-like state and trust the muscle memory of the automatic thought patterns they have been practising.
Another common feature of the flow state is an unawareness of time passing.
This brought me to another question:
Do we enter a flow state while scrolling Instagram?
Now hear me out — you are on Instagram, or Twitter, or TikTok, YouTube, whatever. The medium is irrelevant because they all operate in the same way. They hijack our attention and keep us focused on whatever they are showing us. We aren’t thinking, we are just flowing from post to post, video to video, reel to reel, and then when we look up we find that half an hour has passed.
Intuitively it feels like this can’t be a flow state, because everyone agrees that it is not a good thing. We leave the experience dissatisfied, drained of dopamine because we’ve been getting all of these minor hits, crashing our supply.
So, that must be the difference. I was going to write something about fugue states, but I’ve turned the WiFi off so that I don’t accidentally enter a Google-based flow state, so I’m not able to check what a fugue state actually is. From my understanding, they are different to a flow state because you don’t have any recollection whatsoever of what you were doing when you were in the state, whereas with a flow state, you have a constant, detached awareness of what’s going on.
I wrote last year about dopamine, and about how dopamine is built by effort. It doesn’t take any effort or focus to reach the state of scrolling Instagram. The effect may be the same but there hasn’t been any effort to reach it, making it hollow. Maybe that’s it.
If anyone else has some genuine physiological expertise I would welcome a second opinion on the matter. Even if you’ve got no expertise, to be honest, I mean, I have none and I’ve just written an essay on the subject.
I’m going to try and maintain my proper sense of flow here, even though I have to turn the internet on to watch the episode again. The odds of me being distracted by a YouTube video about the Luka Doncic trade are about 1/2 I’d say. Now, Luka Doncic — there’s someone else who can reach a potent flow state. Step back to the left, three-point game-winner. That sort of stuff can only come from a powerful state of meditative focus.
Tonight’s University Challenge match was for the last quarter-final place and saw Warwick facing Oriel, Ox.
I’ve already watched one video about Luka, but come on, it’s the craziest trade in the history of American sports. A man is allowed to revel.
Here’s your first starter for ten.
Rajan says that Oriel were one of only two teams to come from behind to win their first-round matches, and that can’t possibly be true, can it? Unless the definition of coming from behind is that they were losing at the halfway stage or something? I’m going to check this out after I’ve seen the episode but I don’t believe that stat for a second.
Tumblr media
A neg from Sharkey puts Oriel on minus five, and Hart capitalises on the mistake with his second consecutive starter. Watson keeps the streak going for Warwick with palliative, and Rajan lets them off with distance instead of displacement, which is pretty generous, given that the question mentioned velocity rather than speed.
Armstrong gets Oriel going with croissant (pronounced immaculately) on the picture starter, but they can’t keep up the momentum, and Warwick hit back immediately through Siddle and Hart. It is 100–5 now, so Oriel will have to rely on that comeback spirit once again.
Taseen gets them going, and Armstrong recognises All Shook Up on the music starter within a few notes. But Warwick aren’t interested in making a game of it, with Hart and Watson stretching the lead back out to more than a hundred points.
Sharkey takes the second picture starter with Isambard Kingdom Brunel, and spins his hands as if to say ‘let’s go!’, but they’re going to have to go on quite the run to haul Warwick back. Still, through Taseen and Sharkey, they make a little go of it, but they’re coming from too far back, and Warwick don’t want to take any risks, cutting the comeback off before it can grow any legs.
Warwick 215–110 Oriel
From the halfway stage, the two sides were evenly matched, but Warwick’s superior start sees them become the eight side to reach the quarter-finals. It also means there are no Oxford sides left, though there are two from Cambridge.
Open beat UCL from 0–20 down
Oriel beat Durham from 70–130 down
Cardiff beat St Andrews from 0–40 down
LSE beat Leicester from 45–55 down
St Edmund Hall beat SOAS from 75–90 down
So, I am presuming they’re only counting the Teddy Hall and Oriel wins, but if you’ll permit by pedantry, Open, UCL and LSE also won having been behind at one stage.
It is still remarkable that all of the other teams were leading right from the first question, but I don’t think it is true to say that Oriel were one of two teams to come from behind.

What Would Ilvermorny Look Like Today?
New Post has been published on https://bit.ly/3SJyfgt
What Would Ilvermorny Look Like Today?
When it comes to learning about Wizarding World schools, we have only just begun to scratch the surface. One of the schools that we do have confirmed information on is Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This school was created centuries ago in North America on top of Mount Greylock in Massachusetts. J.K. Rowling confirmed Ilvermorny’s origins on Pottermore, but what would Ilvermorny look like in today’s age of diversity, inclusivity, and accessibility? Let’s explore how Ilvermorny would operate as a modern wizarding institution.
    Food Court Dining Area
While students at Hogwarts eat buffet offerings in the Great Hall, Ilvermorny’s dining area would be best served as a food court. The space would offer various types of food from different cultures and students can choose what they would like to eat each day. Let’s not forget a cafe section offering Butterbeer lattes, chocolate frogs, and pumpkin pasties!
  Focus on Accessibility
Ilvermorny’s dorms, common areas, and overall learning environment in the castle would be made accessible for those with physical, hearing, and visual impairments. Instead of moving staircases being the main mode of transportation around the castle, Ilvermorny would add ramps and elevators. Books would come in brail and large text options, all videos would include clear captions, students would be offered text-to-speech tools and assistive listening devices, and sign language interpreters would attend school-wide events.
  Added Classes
Ilvermorny students already take a course load of magical studies, but they would also benefit from non-magical classes in their weekly schedule.
Ilvermorny has Celtic and Native American roots. In-depth classes in the history and mythology of these cultures would reinforce Ilvermorny’s origins.
For the thespians in the school, acting classes would prepare those longing to be on the stage for Ilvermorny’s fall, winter, and spring productions.
Love to paint or sketch? Art classes would cover the style and history of famous wizarding artists and allow students to create their own masterpieces.
Classes covering physical and mental health would teach students how to manage stress – especially when studying for their OWLs – and prioritize wellness and self-love.
  Fitness Center
Whether exercising on their own or working on skills in team practice, a fitness center for Ilvermorny students just makes sense. From yoga classes to strengthening equipment to a running track, the space would be open for all students to use. Ilvermorny would also have a long roster of teams to join. In addition to watching a Quidditch match, we’d love to see a magical tennis tournament or House dance team performances!
  New Pet Options
In the Wizarding World, pets allowed at Hogwarts include cats, toads, owls, and the occasional rat. However, with Ilvermorny being in North America, other pet options would likely be approved for castle living. This includes popular animal friends living in homes today such as dogs, bunnies, birds, guinea pigs, and fish.
What else do you think would be added to a modern Ilvermorny? Let us know in the comments!

For this weeks writing post, have the first chapter of Supernova, a novel I started writing over the summer.
Chapter One: A Plan Comes Together
The gentle morning sunrise cut through the thick orange smog, shining brightly against the wall of Reva's cramped living quarters. "The sunrise was to die for". That's what they've told the underground workers on the planet for generations. But most of them died before they could judge for themselves. It was sick.
Reva peeled the sweat soaked blankets off her bronze coloured skin and climbed out of bed. She took a deep breath, before doing some morning stretches. She couldn't do anything fancy, as her room was rather small, but she managed to work in a few different yoga poses. She threw some clothes on and tied her hair up. She was wearing her uniform, a light beige-y brown with green highlights. On the chest of her button up shirt was a tree with bright red leaves. Her wavy hair was a dark green.
She walked out of her quarters, and down the hall past several other rooms, all packed closely together. She could hear noises inside from people shuffling around, going about their daily routine. Freshly awoken citizens groan and stretch, children run around playing, practically bouncing off the walls. She could hear singing and yelling, laughing and crying. The place reminded her of an anthill, extremely well organized and filled to bursting with people. She hated it.
She walked down a few flights of brightly lit stairs, leading to a heavy metal door. She put her ventilator on. It was a cold metallic device, covering her entire face. It kept the toxins out of her lungs and the dust out of her eyes. But it limited her vision and made a funny sound when she breathed. She hated it.
She slowly creaked the door open as she stepped out, onto the street of the underlayer. Above her were the buzzing electric lights of the city, underneath the midlayer, where the wealthier citizens lived. The roof of the underlayer stood about fifty feet in the air, and was made of welded sheet metal, supported by large concrete beams and buildings. Large brick buildings stood on each side of the street, reaching up to the roof. The walls of each building were graffitied, with most of the windows smashed. The air of the underlayer was thick. It smelled like burning brimstone, even with the ventilator on. The ventilator was uncomfortable, but it was a necessary evil. Thanks to the heavy mining operations on the planet, each breath of air was ripe with toxins. Breathing it in, even in small doses, was enough to take you out of the workforce for days. And on this planet, that was practically a death sentence.
Reva walked down the street, passing dingy looking street markets selling whatever they could get their hands on. People ran up and down the street, from building to building, on errands or for jobs. Armed Phonocoptrian peacekeepers kicked down doors and arrested people for even the slightest grievances. The peacekeepers were the galaxies security force. Wearing laserproof red armour and armed with automatic laser rifles, civilians were just as scared of them as criminals were. They served the law, and the law served them. But this was nothing new for Reva. That's how the underlayers were on most planets.
The smog was so thick Reva could barely see, but she knew the route to work well. She could walk it with her eyes closed if she wanted. Or at least, she thought she could. She walked directly into a Phonocoptrian peacekeeper on patrol. Reva hit her face off the cold metal of his chest plate. He shoved her back before raising his rifle at her. Her nose stung from hitting him. She stumbled back as she was pushed.
"Watch where you're going civilian!"
Reva looked him over. Only the skin around his mouth was visible. It was a pale pink, almost like the skin of a pig. He licked his lips with his long, slimy tongue. Reva gagged a little. She looked up into his big, bulbous eyes, puffing out of his skull like the eyes of a frog.
"I'm sorry Sir," Reva muttered. "I'll be more careful next time."
The Phonocoptrian scoffed before lowering his gun and turning away. He kept his gun in his hand, perhaps because he liked the feel of it, or the way it made him look. He walked away, as did Reva.
"@$$hole," Reva whispered under her breath.
Reva continued walking until she got to work. She reached a large, glass wall extending up to the midlayer, with a metal door built into it. She opened the door and stepped into a cramped, metal airlock. She drained the air out of the room and opened the far door. She removed her ventilator and breathed a deep sigh of relief.
Reva stood in one of twenty nature domes on the planet. Each one was a safe haven from the pollution and smog ravaging the planet. It was a small dome of glass reaching up past the midlayer of the planet, past the upper layer, past the top layer. Inside the glass, which was about the size of a soccer field, stood a clearing with tall trees reaching up to the sky. It was the only spot in the lowerlayer with natural lighting and vegetation. It was also the only spot with fresh, unfiltered, unpolluted air.
Reva was the ranger. Her job was to ensure all the plants were growing the way they were supposed to. She grabbed a watering can and got to work. There were all different plants of all different sizes. There were trees that looked like great blue coral reefs, huge blades of grass reaching to the sky, multicolored flowers that only bloom on the bottom of lakes. There were stone pathways throughout the dome, lined with a glowing blue moss. Reva walked down the path, stopping to smell some brightly coloured mushrooms giving off a rather sweet smell, like that of chocolate.
Reva loved her job. The nature domes were the only place she felt at peace.  She loved the natural light streaming through the leaves, the fresh air, the plants. It was the only place she'd ever felt like she belonged. Some days she would get visitors, but today didn't seem like one of them. Reva was completely alone, or so she thought.
Reva walked past a tree when all of a sudden a man came swinging down from a tree branch. He had black skin, with long dark blue hair tied in braids and hanging low. He wore a flashy yellow jacket and purple visor sunglasses. He was upside down.
"Boo!" The man yelled.
Reva jumped back, raising her arms in front of her, before lowering them and clutching her chest.
"Vee! You scared me..."
Vee leaped out of the tree, laughing and brushing his hair down the left side of his face.
"Just keeping you on your toes!" Vee said with a smile. "But I got them!"
Reva's face lit up. "The plans?"
"Yeah! Looks like those four months incognito were worth it!!"
Vee pulled a small metal disk out of his pocket and pushed a button in the center of it. A blue light streamed out of the disk, creating a hologram of buildings. A spot between the buildings was marked with a red dot.
"That's where our gateway to the mines is," Vee calmly explained. he pointed at a small, rundown brick building next to the door. "Security is rotated at 3:14 am. That's our window in! We'll meet at this building here. We can storm tonight if you're ready."
Reva smiled excitedly. "Let's do it!"
Vee turned off the hologram and tucked the disk back into his jacket pocket.
"Ok! Sounds like a plan! If you've got the weapons I can stash them near the entrance."
Reva handed Vee a dirty, well worn shovel.
"Of course I got the weapons! Follow me."
Reva led Vee to a plot of freshly moved dirt. Vee started digging, eventually finding two pistols and two blade-less knives.
"A laser pistol and a light knife for each of us?" Vee asked.
"Yep," Reva responded. "Should be enough. We do have stealth on our side."
"Yeah we'll be good!" Vee said, picking up the weapons. He pushed a button on the side of one of the knives. A bright red blade of energy shot out of the handle. He pushed the button a second time and it returned to normal. He hid the weapons in a pocket in his jacket. "I'm going to go stash these. See you tonight!"
"See ya!"
Vee left, leaving Reva to her gardening duties. Reva gardened for a few more hours before packing up. She took one last deep breath of air before putting on her ventilator and walking back to her living quarters. When she got there, she walked over beside her bed, to her projector alarm clock. She started programming it to show a sunrise at 2:30 am. This would be the last time she'd ever use it. By the end of the day, she'd be off world. She'd see real sunrises again.

The Healing Power of Sound: Unleashing the Harmonious Symphony Within
Shaina Tranquilino
August 24, 2023
Tumblr media
Where stress and anxiety have become an integral part of our daily lives, finding solace and healing methods is more important than ever. While traditional practices like meditation and yoga have gained popularity, another age-old technique has been making waves in the realm of holistic wellness - sound healing. This alternative therapy utilizes the power of sound vibrations to restore harmony within the body, mind, and soul. In this blog post, we will delve into the fascinating realm of sound healing and explore its profound effects on our overall well-being.
The Origins of Sound Healing:
Sound healing can be traced back thousands of years to ancient civilizations such as Egypt, Greece, India, and China. These cultures recognized that sound had transformative properties capable of restoring balance in individuals suffering from physical or emotional ailments. Indigenous tribes also employed rhythmic drumming or chanting as a means to enter deep states of relaxation or spiritual connection.
How Does It Work?
At its core, sound healing operates under the principle that everything in existence vibrates at a specific frequency. When we experience illness or disharmony, it is an indication that certain areas within us are vibrating out of sync. By introducing different tones and frequencies through various instruments such as singing bowls, gongs, tuning forks, or even one's voice, sound healers aim to recalibrate these imbalances.
Benefits of Sound Healing:
1. Stress Reduction: Sound healing induces a state of deep relaxation by activating the parasympathetic nervous system. As soothing sounds wash over us during a session, stress hormones decrease while feel-good chemicals like endorphins increase.
2. Emotional Release: Sound vibrations can penetrate deeply into our emotional being, helping us release stored trauma or negative emotions held within our bodies. Many practitioners report feelings of catharsis or increased emotional clarity after sessions.
3. Enhanced Well-being: Sound healing promotes a sense of overall well-being and vitality. Regular sessions have been noted to boost the immune system, improve sleep quality, alleviate chronic pain, and enhance cognitive function.
4. Spiritual Connection: Sound has long been considered a powerful tool for spiritual exploration. By attuning our vibrations with specific frequencies, sound healing can facilitate profound meditative experiences or help individuals connect with their inner selves on a deeper level.
Exploring Sound Healing Techniques:
1. Tuning Forks: These precision instruments emit pure tones when struck against a surface. They are often placed on specific acupuncture points or around the body to promote energy flow and balance.
2. Singing Bowls: Originating from Tibetan traditions, these bowls produce harmonious sounds when played using a mallet in a circular motion around the rim. The reverberations can be deeply calming and grounding.
3. Gong Baths: A gong bath involves lying down while being immersed in the resonant sound waves produced by large gongs. This experience is believed to induce deep states of relaxation and promote energetic cleansing.
Sound healing offers an extraordinary journey into self-discovery and holistic wellness through its transformative power of vibrational therapy. Whether you seek stress relief, emotional release, physical rejuvenation, or spiritual connection, this ancient practice holds immense potential for restoring harmony within your mind, body, and soul. So why not give yourself permission to embark on this sonic voyage and allow the symphony of sound to heal your being?

headcanon. on Eternal Paradise faith.
In canon, the cult of Eternal Paradise takes inspiration from the real life religion of Karma Kagyu wherein a spiritual leader, known as Karmapa, acts as the figurehead & teacher. In composing my personal headcanon about how the cult operates in terms of religious worship, I have combined certain elements of different Tibetan Buddhism schools and sprinkled a dash of fantasy & personal interpretation of things. As such, this is a completely fictional religion that only takes inspiration from real life practices.
Disclaimer: I will be enhancing this post in the future as I see fit.
THE BASE COMPONENTS OF ETERNAL PARADISE FAITH
belief (ideas and values)
The core belief is that there exists a state of utmost peace & tranquility, that can be achieved only by severing all ties with the mundane world. Emotions are seen as a burden that weighs one down from achieving such a state and are thereupon 'entrusted' to the Lord Founder, who is considered capable of receiving them as he has already achieved such as a state and is able to mediate between this world & the next one. For that reason, the Lord Founder is the only one capable of guiding his principles to their ascension.
mythology (supernatural and sacred stories)
Much like real life Buddhism, Eternal Faith has no creator of the world and instead teaches that past events are the reason for present events that become the reason for future events. There are however, symbolic objects & deities, that would be called upon but not worshipped.
The lotus: The lotus is a symbol of purity & enlightement, thus its predominant appearance in works of art produced by the faithful. The Lord Founder himself would be depicted seated on an open lotus that symbolizes both his eternal nature & status as a being who appears in the mundane realm but simultaneously dwells in the spiritual one.
Muzan in Eternal Faith depictions plays a part similar to the Mahakala/Black Cloak; a personal protector of the Karmapa. Muzan would be depicted in paintings as a deity with multiple limbs & twelve blazing red eyes, usually wearing an expression of tranquility, a smile & having his predominant eye pair closed. He is often painted with long dark hair & wearing fabrics typical to the edo period, seated on a blue flower with long, slender petals. He has two forms; his male one being represented by the moon, symbolizing compassion & his female one being represented by the sun and symbolizing wisdom. As a protective deity, Muzan's female form can be wrathful towards those who are purposefully deviant as she is all-knowing of their intentions.
practices (rituals and rites of passage)
Guidance Council: private audiences with the Lord Founder, in which one would be guided to relief from concerns & burdens. Because of his innate innocence & compassion, the Lord Founder receives all troubles without judgement, and thus all should be entrusted to him, should one wish to be purified.
'Mindfulness' Practice: refers to a type of meditation/yoga that centers around abstinence from the five physical senses. It is considered a purification practice that ought to be repeated daily until one reaches a state where they are eligible for ascension.
Ascension Ceremony: The highest honor possible to achieve within the cult is to be recognized as worthy of entering "Eternal Paradise" — which is not only a state of great perfection but also a different realm of existence.
Room of Rememberance: Those who have come to pass within the temple without achieving their ascension would still be commemorated, in alignment with the principle of Compassion for others. Their physical remains are to be guarded eternally by the Lord Founder, who, alongside his principles, tends to their remains & protects them.
social organization (community).
At the top of the social hierarchy stands the Lord Founder, the enlightened one, who is believed to consciously be in a constant state of serenity & inner peace, thus acts as a beacon & paradigm of the ultimate state of being one can hope to achieve.
Status within the cult is granted by means of 1 ) longetivity & 2 ) the Lord Founder's favor. As such, the Lord Founder can judge which faithful are closer to achieving enlightement and thus grant them a higher social status. This process is usually unofficial and happens through daily interactions.
The newest recruits are considered to be most impure, as they have not dwelled within the temple long enough to shed the burdens & troubles of mundane life that corrupt one's spirit & make them vulnerable to temptation. Thus, those members receive special attention from others, seen as weak & in need of protection.

🌿 The Path of Healing: Jupiterian Practices for Vitality and Longevity
Last week, we talked about The Waiting Room of the Moon—a time to heal, release, and recover under the waning Moon in Cancer. That post was shared directly from my Patreon as a public offering, so if you were hesitant to click the link before, go back and open it—it’s free to read, and it contains a ritual that many people have found deeply helpful during this liminal space between cycles.
This week, I’m offering something new: healing practices for the body and spirit, to be integrated gently throughout the week under the influence of Jupiter.
These practices weren’t created randomly—they’re part of my own Jupiterian workings in preparation for a talismanic operation using the Greater Key of Solomon, focused on health and longevity. If you’ve been following me and practicing alongside me, you know that we recently passed through a Mars trial—a time of intense pressure and confrontation, which for many of us brought pain, disruption, or illness.
But Mars initiates what Jupiter blesses.
And while Jupiter may not be at the center of this current waning Moon phase, his influence is a powerful ally in healing, restoration, and renewal. These exercises were born from that understanding—and are offered to you now if you feel called to participate.
Let this be a way to gently align yourself with Jupiter’s current—to call on divine mercy, expansion, and vitality, even in stillness.
---
🌬️ BREATHING FOR LONGEVITY
“Breath is the bridge between spirit and flesh.”
Jupiter governs expansion. This breathwork gently stimulates healing, cellular restoration, and inner calm.
✴️ Morning Expansion Practice (5 min)
Sit or lie down comfortably.
Inhale for a count of 4
Hold for 7
Exhale slowly for 8
Repeat 7–10 cycles
Focus on the phrase:
> “I inhale vitality. I exhale decay.”
Do this upon waking or before bed to activate the parasympathetic nervous system and release tension.
---
🧘 PASSIVE YOGA STRETCHES FOR RESTORATION
These stretches open the body without pressure—Jupiter supports long, sustained openness, not force. They’re easy on injured bodies, and you can do them in bed, on the floor, or in sacred space.
✴️ Three Restorative Poses
1. Supported Reclining Bound Angle Pose (Supta Baddha Konasana)
– Opens hips, heart, and lower body meridians connected to fertility, flow, and emotional release.
2. Legs Up the Wall (Viparita Karani)
– Calms adrenal glands, restores nervous system, enhances circulation to the brain and organs.
3. Seated Forward Fold with Bolster (Paschimottanasana)
– Promotes surrender and introspection, stimulates digestion, supports kidney and liver health.
Hold each pose for 3–7 minutes, breathing slow and deep. Jupiter prefers long-term consistency over short bursts of force.
Optional: Play Jupiter planetary tones (183.58 Hz) while stretching.
---
🥬 HIGH-VIBRATION FOODS FOR LONG LIFE
Jupiter is abundance, nourishment, and the wisdom of the Earth. Foods aligned with Jupiter’s essence support longevity, inner clarity, and life-force restoration.
✴️ Focus on:
Blue & Purple Fruits (blueberries, black grapes, elderberries):
Rich in antioxidants; support memory, blood, and longevity.
Leafy Greens (dandelion, kale, spinach):
Jupiter-ruled plants; cleanse the blood and strengthen vital organs.
Seeds & Sprouts (sunflower, flax, mung beans):
Contain life-potential; pranic energy for regeneration.
Fermented Foods (sauerkraut, kimchi, kefir):
Gut flora = immune strength = long life. Jupiter governs fermentation and benevolent growth.
---
💧 SPRING OR SOLAR-CHARGED WATER
Place a glass of spring or purified water in direct morning Sun for 30 minutes. You may add a pinch of sea salt or trace minerals.
As you lift the glass, say:
> “May this water carry the light of health and mercy into my cells.”
Drink it mindfully. Let the act itself be a small act of Jupiterian magick.
---
✴️ Suggested Daily Integration Flow
Time Practice
Morning 4-7-8 Breathing + Spring/Solar-Charged Water
Midday Light Jupiterian meal (greens + berries) + Legs Up the Wall
Evening Passive Yoga + Tea of Dandelion or Lemon Balm
Before Sleep Whisper: “I choose long life and joyful light.”
---
☉ Tea Suggestions
Jupiter governs plants of expansion, digestion, and blood purification.
Dandelion Root: Liver health, longevity, purification
Lemon Balm: Calm nerves, uplift mood, expand spirit
Fennel or Anise: Digestive fire, immune function, circulation
---
If you’re walking this path with me—through restoration, resilience, and spiritual sovereignty—these simple practices can anchor your body in the same light your spirit is reaching toward.
If you want more of this, or deeper Jupiterian workings, you’ll find them unfolding through my Patreon and other channels soon. For now: breathe, stretch, eat, and rest.
You’ve already made it through the fire. Now take in the light.

HOW TO BEAT AN AFTER-BUSINESS TRIP SLUMP
Tumblr media
Business travel often sounds glamorous – jetting off to new destinations, staying in upscale accommodations, and dining at exclusive restaurants. Many travellers have experienced the pleasure of unwinding after a long day of meetings at rooftop restaurants in Colombo or similar cosmopolitan locales, taking in breathtaking skyline views while networking with colleagues. However, the reality of returning to your regular routine afterward can hit hard. That post-trip letdown is real, and it affects even the most seasoned business travellers.
The Post-Business Trip Blues: Understanding the Phenomenon
You have spent days or weeks in high-energy mode, navigating unfamiliar environments, making important connections, and possibly even crossing time zones. Your brain has been operating on heightened alertness, processing new information constantly. Then suddenly, you are back at your desk, facing familiar tasks and routines that somehow feel both comforting and strangely deflating.
This phenomenon – the post-business trip slump – combines physical fatigue, mental exhaustion, and a psychological adjustment that can leave you feeling unmotivated and disconnected from your regular work. But fear not; with the right approach, you can bounce back quickly and even leverage your travel experience to enhance your productivity and satisfaction.
Physical Recovery: The Foundation of Bouncing Back
Prioritise Proper Rest
The comfortable hotel rooms in Colombo or wherever your business takes you might provide excellent sleep amenities, but travel sleep rarely matches the quality of rest you get at home. Factor in time zone changes, and you are likely returning with some level of sleep debt.
When you return home, resist the urge to immediately catch up on everything you missed. Instead, prioritise getting back to your normal sleep schedule as quickly as possible. Consider taking an extra day off before returning to the office if your trip was particularly lengthy or involved significant time differences.
Rehydrate and Nourish
Airplane cabins, hotel air conditioning, and the general disruption to your eating patterns can leave you dehydrated and nutritionally depleted. Make it a priority to drink plenty of water and eat nutrient-dense meals for several days after returning. Focus on fresh fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, and complex carbohydrates to restore energy levels naturally.
Move Your Body Mindfully
While intense exercise might feel overwhelming when you are already fatigued, gentle movement can help realign your body and mind. A walking meditation, yoga session, or light swim can stimulate circulation, release tension, and boost your mood without taxing your energy reserves further.
Mental Recalibration: Finding Your Focus Again
Create a Soft Landing
Returning to hundreds of unread emails and pending tasks can feel overwhelming. Instead of diving straight into the deep end, schedule a "buffer day" where you focus solely on organising your priorities rather than tackling them all at once.
Start by categorising your tasks: urgent matters that need immediate attention, important but non-urgent work that can be scheduled, and low-priority items that can wait. This approach prevents the paralysis that often comes with facing a mountain of backlogged work.
Implement the "Three Good Hours" Technique
When energy and focus are limited, identify the three hours in your day when you tend to be most productive, and protect this time fiercely. Use these golden hours for your most important work, scheduling meetings and administrative tasks for other periods.
This technique acknowledges your temporarily reduced capacity while ensuring progress on meaningful work, which helps defeat the feeling of being perpetually behind.
Capture Travel Insights While Fresh
Before your business trip experiences fade into memory, take time to document key insights, connections made, and action items. This practice serves multiple purposes – it helps you process your experience, identifies valuable takeaways, and creates a concrete bridge between your travel and regular work.
Emotional Navigation: Addressing the Psychological Aspects
Acknowledge the Feelings
The contrast between the stimulation of travel and the familiarity of routine can trigger unexpected emotions. Some people experience a form of "re-entry shock" similar to the culture shock of visiting a new place. You might feel bored, restless, or even slightly depressed upon returning.
These feelings are normal and acknowledging them rather than fighting them is the first step toward moving through them productively.
Find Continuity Through Learning
Business travel exposes you to new ideas, approaches, and perspectives. Consider how you might incorporate something valuable from your trip into your regular work environment. Perhaps it is a communication technique you observed, an organisational approach that impressed you, or even just a fresh perspective on an ongoing project.
This practice creates continuity between your travel experience and daily work, reducing the sense of disconnection that feeds the slump.
Share Your Experience Selectively
While not everyone will be interested in hearing every detail of your business trip, sharing relevant highlights with colleagues can help you process your experience while potentially adding value to your team. Focus on insights or connections that might benefit specific projects or team members.
Practical Strategies for the First Week Back
Resist the Urge to Overschedule
After being away, you might feel pressure to make yourself extremely available. Resist this impulse. Instead, intentionally block time for focused work, reflection, and catching up. If possible, decline non-essential meetings for your first few days back.
Create Environmental Refreshment
Sometimes, small changes to your physical workspace can help reset your mindset. Consider rearranging your desk, adding a plant, or placing a memento from your trip where you can see it. These subtle shifts can help bridge the psychological gap between travel and routine.
Leverage the "Outsider Perspective"
One underutilised benefit of returning from business travel is the temporary "outsider's eye" you bring to familiar situations. For a brief window, you may notice inefficiencies or opportunities in your regular environment that had become invisible through familiarity. Capture these observations before they fade – they often contain valuable insights.
Maintaining Momentum: Beyond the First Week
Integrate New Connections
Those business cards or digital contacts you collected aren't just souvenirs. Schedule time to follow up meaningfully with new connections while the context of your meeting is still fresh. This creates ongoing value from your trip and extends its professional benefits.
Plan Knowledge Transfer
If your trip exposed you to new information or approaches, consider formal or informal ways to share this knowledge with your team. This might range from a brief presentation at your next team meeting to a detailed training session if the material warrants it.
Look Forward Thoughtfully
Many business travellers fall into a cycle of dreading routine when they are home and feeling exhausted while traveling. Break this pattern by thoughtfully evaluating what aspects of both environments enhance your performance and satisfaction. Then look for ways to incorporate more of these elements into both contexts.
For instance, if you enjoyed the focused work time during flights, consider how you might create similar distraction-free periods in your regular schedule. If you appreciated the efficiency of hotels in Fort Colombo where everything was conveniently located, think about how you might streamline your home or office environment.
Special Considerations for International Business Travel
International business travel adds layers of complexity to the return adjustment. Beyond physical fatigue and routine disruption, you are also processing cultural transitions and possibly more significant time zone adjustments.
Cultural Decompression
Moving between different cultural contexts requires psychological adaptation. Give yourself permission to gradually transition back to your home culture's pace and practices. If your business took you to places with Colombo hotel offers that included cultural experiences or local cuisine, you might find yourself missing certain aspects of that environment.
Consider incorporating small elements you enjoyed – perhaps music, food, or certain social practices – into your routine temporarily to ease the transition.
Extended Time Zone Recovery
For trips crossing multiple time zones, physical recovery may take longer than you expect. Research suggests that recovery typically requires about one day per time zone crossed. Be patient with yourself and adjust your performance expectations accordingly.
Conclusion: Transforming the Slump into a Springboard
The post-business trip slump is a common experience, but it does not have to derail your productivity or satisfaction. By addressing its physical, mental, and emotional dimensions with intentional strategies, you can not only minimise the downturn but potentially leverage your travel experience to enhance your regular work life.
Remember that business travel represents an investment – of time, energy, and resources. Thoughtful re-entry practices ensure you maximise the return on that investment while maintaining your well-being and effectiveness.
The next time you find yourself checking out of hotels in Fort Colombo or wherever your business takes you, remember these strategies and prepare for a smoother, more productive return to your regular routine. With practice, you might find yourself looking forward to both the stimulation of travel and the satisfaction of returning home with fresh insights and renewed perspective.

Transform with Power Yoga for Weight Loss
Tumblr media
Introduction to Power Yoga for Weight Loss
In today’s fast-paced world, achieving a healthy weight while maintaining mental and physical balance is a common goal. Power Yoga for Weight Loss has emerged as a dynamic and effective practice that combines the mindfulness of traditional yoga with the intensity of a full-body workout. At Praveen Yoga Academy, Power Yoga offers a holistic approach to shedding pounds, building strength, and enhancing overall well-being. This blog explores how Power Yoga for Weight Loss can transform your fitness journey, offering practical tips, benefits, and a step-by-step guide to get started.
Power Yoga is a vigorous, fitness-focused style of yoga that emphasizes strength, flexibility, and stamina. Unlike traditional yoga, which may focus more on relaxation and meditation, it incorporates fast-paced sequences and challenging poses that elevate heart rate and burn calories. By engaging multiple muscle groups and promoting cardiovascular health, this practice is an excellent choice for those aiming to lose weight while cultivating mindfulness.
Why Choose Power Yoga for Weight Loss?
For several reasons, it is a popular workout program. Depending on the intensity and personal characteristics like body weight, it is a high-intensity workout that can burn a substantial number of calories—typically between 300 and 600 each hour. This calorie-burning potential makes it comparable to other cardio workouts like running or cycling but with added benefits for flexibility and mental health.
Our Power Yoga sessions are designed to maximize fat loss by incorporating dynamic sequences like Sun Salutations, Warrior poses, and core-strengthening exercises. These movements not only torch calories but also build lean muscle mass, which boosts metabolism over time. Unlike restrictive diets that may lead to muscle loss, it supports sustainable weight management by enhancing muscle tone and metabolic rate.
Moreover, Power Yoga promotes mindfulness, which can help address emotional eating—a common barrier to weight loss. By fostering a mind-body connection, practitioners learn to listen to their bodies, make healthier food choices, and manage stress, which are involved in long-term weight loss success.
Key Benefits of Power Yoga for Weight Loss
Calorie Burning and Fat Loss: It is a high-energy practice that accelerates calorie expenditure. Sequences like Chaturanga Dandasana (Four-Limbed Staff Pose) and Vinyasa flows engage multiple muscle groups, creating an afterburn effect known as excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC). This implies that your body keeps burning calories even after the workout is over.
Muscle Building and Toning: Power Yoga builds strength through bodyweight exercises, targeting the core, arms, and legs. Stronger muscles increase resting metabolic rate, helping you burn more calories throughout the day. Our instructors guide you through poses like Plank and Chair to sculpt a lean, toned physique.
Improved Flexibility and Mobility: While weight loss is the goal, it also enhances flexibility, reducing the risk of injury and improving overall mobility. Poses like Downward Dog and Triangle Pose stretch tight muscles, making it easier to perform daily activities and other workouts.
Stress Reduction: Stress can trigger cortisol production, which is linked to weight gain, particularly around the abdomen. Power Yoga incorporates breathing techniques (pranayama) and mindfulness, helping to lower cortisol levels and support weight loss efforts.
Cardiovascular Health: It increases heart rate and improves cardiovascular endurance because it is a fast-paced practice. This makes it an excellent choice for heart health, alongside its weight loss benefits.
How Power Yoga for Weight Loss Works
Power Yoga for Weight Loss operates on the principle of combining strength, cardio, and flexibility in a single workout. This is an explanation of how it aids in weight loss:
Dynamic Sequences: Flows like Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar) involve a series of poses performed in a continuous, flowing manner. By activating several muscle groups and raising heart rate, these exercises encourage the burning of calories.
Core Engagement: Many Power Yoga poses, such as the Boat Pose and Side Plank, target the core muscles. A strong core helps you lose weight by improving your posture, balance, and ability to move quickly.
Breath Control: Power Yoga emphasizes synchronized breathing, which oxygenates the muscles and improves endurance. Proper breathing also helps regulate the nervous system, reducing stress-related weight gain.
Consistency: Regular practice—ideally 3-5 times per week—creates a cumulative effect, leading to sustained calorie burning and muscle development. We offer classes with a set format to help you stay on track.

Sample Power Yoga Sequence for Weight Loss
Here’s a beginner-friendly Power Yoga sequence you can try at home or in a class. Perform each pose for 5-10 breaths, flowing smoothly between movements:
Mountain Pose (Tadasana): Stand tall, grounding your feet and engaging your core. This pose sets the foundation for alignment.
Sun Salutation (Surya Namaskar): Perform 3-5 rounds, including Forward Fold, Plank, Chaturanga, Upward Dog, and Downward Dog. This sequence warms up the body and boosts the heart rate.
Warrior II (Virabhadrasana II): Step into a lunge, aligning your front knee over your ankle. The legs and core are strengthened in this stance.
Chair Pose (Utkatasana): Lower into a seated position, activating your thighs and core. To build up heat, hold for 30 seconds.
Boat Pose (Navasana): This pose uses your core muscles as you sit on the floor, raise your legs, and balance on your sit bones.
Bridge Pose (Setu Bandhasana): Lie on your back, lift your hips, and engage your glutes. This strengthens the posterior chain.
Savasana: End with 5 minutes of relaxation to integrate the benefits of your practice.
Combining Power Yoga with a Healthy Diet
Although it is very effective, the best effects are obtained when combined with a balanced diet. Give priority to whole foods including veggies, lean meats, whole grains, and healthy fats. Avoid processed foods and excessive sugar, which can hinder progress. Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water every day to stay hydrated. This helps your metabolism and recovery. We encourage a holistic approach, offering nutrition workshops alongside Power Yoga classes. Consider keeping a food journal to track your intake and identify areas for improvement. Small, sustainable changes—like reducing portion sizes or adding more vegetables—can make a big difference over time.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
To get the most out of Power Yoga for Weight Loss, steer clear of these pitfalls:
Overexertion: Pushing too hard can lead to burnout or injury. Be mindful of your body when it needs to relax.
Poor Form: Incorrect alignment increases injury risk. To guarantee correct technique, collaborate with an instructor.
Inconsistency: Sporadic practice yields limited results. Aim for regular sessions to see progress.
Neglecting Recovery: Sleeping well and taking rest days are essential for weight loss and muscle recovery.

Best Physical Therapy Routines for Hip Replacement Recovery
Hip replacement recovery is a crucial phase that determines the long-term success and mobility of patients following surgery. Guided by medical professionals like Meyer Jr Richard L MD, effective physical therapy routines are essential in restoring strength, flexibility, and confidence after the procedure. Proper rehabilitation can dramatically reduce pain, improve joint function, and help patients return to their daily lives faster and safer. This article provides detailed insights into the most beneficial therapy exercises and routines that aid in successful hip replacement recovery.
Early Motion Is Key in Hip Replacement Recovery
In the initial days after surgery, encouraging light movement is vital for a smoother Hip Replacement Recovery. Under supervision, patients are typically advised to start with simple movements like ankle pumps, leg slides, and heel raises. Meyer Jr Richard L MD often recommends these exercises to stimulate blood flow, reduce the risk of blood clots, and prevent joint stiffness. These small yet significant actions also begin to rebuild muscle memory and confidence in movement.
Strengthening Muscles That Support the New Joint
A core focus of hip replacement recovery is restoring the strength of muscles around the hip joint. Weak glutes, quads, and hamstrings can slow recovery and increase the risk of falls. Physical therapy often includes resistance band exercises, standing leg lifts, and gentle squats to rebuild strength and support joint stability. Meyer Jr Richard L MD emphasizes the importance of consistency in strength training to enhance endurance and mobility.
Improving Flexibility to Regain Full Range of Motion
Flexibility is another pillar of effective hip replacement recovery. Scar tissue and joint stiffness can limit movement, but targeted stretching exercises can restore a normal range of motion. Routines may include knee-to-chest stretches, hamstring stretches, and gentle yoga poses tailored for post-operative care. Meyer Jr Richard L MD advises incorporating stretching into daily therapy to loosen tight muscles and improve comfort.
Balance and Stability Training to Prevent Falls
Regaining balance and stability is essential for avoiding complications during hip replacement recovery. Patients often experience weakness or instability that can lead to falls if not addressed through therapy. Balance exercises such as standing on one foot, heel-to-toe walking, and using a balance board help restore coordination. Meyer Jr Richard L MD includes these activities in his rehabilitation plans to ensure that patients feel secure and stable on their feet.
Using Assistive Tools to Support Safe Recovery
During the early stages of hip replacement recovery, assistive devices like walkers, canes, and raised chairs play a vital role in promoting healing and mobility. Physical therapy often includes training on how to use these tools correctly to avoid strain and maintain proper posture. Meyer Jr Richard L MD ensures that his patients are educated on safe practices while gradually transitioning away from these aids.
Progressive Walking and Low-Impact Cardio Benefits
Walking is one of the most beneficial activities for hip replacement recovery when done progressively. Starting with short walks using a walker and gradually increasing distance builds stamina and circulation. Meyer Jr Richard L MD often incorporates walking routines alongside other low-impact cardio exercises like stationary biking or swimming. These activities improve cardiovascular health without putting undue stress on the joint.
Monitoring Progress and Adjusting Therapy Plans
No two patients are the same, which is why personalized care is essential in hip replacement recovery. Regular check-ins with a physical therapist allow for adjustments in the routine based on progress, pain levels, and mobility goals. Meyer Jr Richard L MD uses ongoing assessments to fine-tune therapy plans, ensuring optimal outcomes for each individual. Modifying intensity or introducing new exercises at the right time keeps patients motivated and minimizes the risk of plateauing.
Conclusion
Hip replacement recovery is a gradual yet rewarding process that depends heavily on the right physical therapy routines. From early mobility exercises to strength-building and balance training, each phase of recovery is crucial for restoring independence and function. With the guidance of professionals like Meyer Jr Richard L MD, patients can follow personalized routines that address their unique needs and goals. A strong commitment to therapy not only enhances physical health but also boosts emotional well-being.
