Day 30 A-The Lady
Day 30 A-End
Other Stories
Other Days
A Western Summer
Duck knew he was dreaming as soon as he opened his eyes. The forest around him was tall, taller than the tallest building in Tidmouth…or London for that matter. Where he could see the sky above him through the forest canopy shimmered strangely despite it being night, reminding him of the air surrounding Screech. Fireflies flew through the air, lighting the forest in a golden ethereal glow. None of this was what told him that he was dreaming. It was the woman polishing his buffers.
She strangely reminded him of Cassandra at first glance, large round eyes and elegant features, but her’s were sharp were Cassnadra’s were rounded. He felt her presence on him like a physical weight, pressing down on his frames so that they creaked from the strain of her mere proximity. It felt pleasant, almost fond, but he understood that if he angered her, she would not have to kill him, he would be crushed in an instant by the weight of the emotion itself. Even before she glanced up to reveal burning gold eyes, he knew who was before him.
“My Lady.” He said, bowing his head as far as it would go, his mind racing as he tried to figure out why the Lady herself had called his spirit forth.
She smiled, “So polite Montague.”
She reached out a hand to cup his cheek, the sensation of withheld power almost burning him as she sat there for a moment staring at him.
“Forgive me,” she said as she removed her hand, leaving a red handprint behind, “it is not often I get to interact with my living children.”
Duck nodded slowly, even within a dream he could feel the effort it took for her to keep her presence from overwhelming his existence.
“I am honored, My Lady.”
“Hmmm…” She flicked a speck of dirt from his running board, the speck incinerating in the air from her power. “I had debated sending you to Sodor.”
Duck's eyebrows shot up, the Lady was the one who sent him? It had always been strange that he was chosen for transfer to the North Western rather than one of his Welsh siblings, who were far closer, but to think it was her…
She glanced down at her palm, “I saw that you would remain faithful to your ways, to the Great Western. That it would be born again on your line.” a golden flame flickered into being on her palm.
“I did not see my champion falling for you.”
She closed her hand, the flame disappearing into her fist.
Oh.
She looked up to stare into Duck’s eyes, her lips tight in a thin line.
“I know I have unfairly burdened them.” She said tightly, the air thrumming with her power and frustration, “that she needs companionship of her own kind. That she is dangerously close to falling.”
It was tensely quiet between the engine and his creator for a long moment.
“She would not have asked to be spared.” Duck said quietly, “I would be surprised if the thought had ever occurred to her.”
“I am aware.” She said, her voice pained. She laid her other hand on his running board, tracing her fingertips along his running board as she walked around him.
She paused by his cab, “I am a jealous being.” She admitted carelessly, as if the weight of her words wasn't causing his springs to creak. “I am possessive of all my children, perhaps beyond what is healthy.”
She walked forward again, and Duck wondered if this is what sheep felt like when stalked by wolves.
“above all others, she is mine. The only one of my children I can see while they still live, the only one I can pour my care into while they still draw breath.” She turned to face him, repressed anger, frustration, and helplessness clear  on her face, “and I can only hurt her.”
She stepped close, Duck barely daring to breathe, “I can only reach her because I ask her to risk herself for me. To bear the weight of divinity on her mortal frames.”
She opened her fist, revealing the flame still flickering in her hand, “even now I can only speak to you without shattering your being because of how much time you've spent in her presence.”
She locked her eyes on the flames, “you need to understand, my dear child, that she is mine first. Now, and forever. She was only supposed to be a champion, but I have poured too much into her, asked too much of her, to ever let her go. She is a part of me now, and I could no more let her go than you can withstand my power in life.”
Duck eyes the flames in her hand warily, “I knew as much when I asked her. To deny your claim on her would be to deny her.”
The Lady sighed, and let the flames die away, “which is why I did not protest when she asked my permission to court you.”
Duck should have expected her to have asked permission before agreeing to court him, but then why…
“Because you have to understand she's mine.” she answered his thought before he could even finish it. “She's grown attached to you, and you need to understand that you will never be first in her life before I allow this to go any further. Not just as a fact, but as your reality.”
Duck actually thought about it, considering how he felt. “It's an adjustment, being with her.” He admitted, “I'm not used to allowing others to go into danger, much less without me…but asking for Cassandra or Thomas without Caomhnóir would be like asking for me without the Great Western.”
“A fair enough comparison.” She allowed. She cupped his cheek again, “I do not say this out of malice or anger, but protectiveness. I would not see you hurt if she were to ever choose her duty over you…either of you.”
Duck swallowed, “I would not ask that of her. Only that she allows others to help her where possible.”
The Lady was quiet for a moment, before she sighed and stepped away.
“She needs you.” She admitted, “as loath as I am to admit it, she needs another engine to trust, to help her bear the weight.” she looked up to meet the panniers eyes, “but you will be affected by this.” She warned. “Just as her crews have been, you cannot spend so much time with my own without being affected yourself.”
“I understand.”
“Hmmmm…perhaps you do.” She glanced to the sky, “I must release you now, but know this.”
She glanced back to Duck.
“She chose well.”
The fire in her hand flared and Duck woke, gasping for air in the Arlesburg sheds, startling several of the engines awake.
As they asked him what was wrong, he glanced into a mirror that had been left leaning against the shed walls, revealing a red handprint on his cheek.
A/N: Hello Loves! The Lady appears Human here as a measure to keep her presence from destroying Duck. I hope you all enjoyed Day 30! Love Y'all!

(I am ~buzzing~ with ideas…. Allow me to release some)
Once Danny was an adult, he decided to join Ellie in her ‘permanent world tour’. It’s better than staying in Amity where the opinion of Phantom hasn’t gotten much better. Besides, the portal caused the veil to get weaker, allow ghost to wreak havoc where ever they want.
He’s met a lot new ghost cause of this too. Old as Mycenaean Greece to non humans who came to Earth and died there. Danny’s learnt so much from them that he’s basically a walking in Encyclopaedia.
So, Danny’s decided “fuck it.” and has it became a part-time history teacher. It’s fun! He knows the details by heart and is able to make it more fun than just droning on about the same old wars and whatever. He enjoys it, the kids enjoy it and the ghosts having their stories told!
Of course, this does cause some problems when people try to correct him. Danny’s argument? “I got them correct sources.”
And when anyone asks him how knows his sources are correct? “My source was there when it happened.”
Cue the dc world thinking that Danny’s just some immortal guy whose decided to use his immortality for good(TM)
#dp x dc#Dc x dp#dcxdp#dpxdc#dpdc#dcdp#writing prompt#I’m thinking this happens either in Gotham where everyone kind of just accepts that he’s there#Like “yup. Immortal guy. Doesn’t really do much beside tell his stories like an old man”#It would be funny if Damian ends up in his class and is so into because he can ask ANY question from ANY area/time period and Danny answers#-well enough that Damian has found a new favourite#“He’s not even family!”#“Tt.”#Or it happens in Central city#Because I think that’s also a city that would see this funky dude and just go “Yup that’s normal!”#(I JUST REMEMBERED THAT WALLY GETS WRAPPED UP IN A BUNCH OF CULTS STUFF!!!)#Wally totally goes up to Danny and starts spilling the entire case…#Without actually spilling it#Danny gives him all the missing clues in the form of the stories of (old ass god from obscure religion)#It would also be funny if Bart is his student#Like Danny 100% sometimes mixes up timelines and has to go#“Yeah so the queen stabbed the king in revenge- wait no. Sorry. the king killed the queen and the princess stabbed the king.”#Bart is BUZZING(/pos) cause he was there!! He went to that timeline to fix it!!#It’s very obvious that this immortal guy is immune to time travel shenanigans#Bart has fun subtly mention old timelines with him#Danny’s already decided this is his kid now. Back off Flash. I’m stealing your side kick.#(EVEN FUNNIER WITH BART 100% SUPPORTING THIS AND WALLY HAVING A CRUSH)#(“Nu uh! You don’t deserve Mr. Fenton!” “Dude I’m basically your older brother! If we date he becomes actual family!” “Nu uh. I claimed him#Already!” “Barttt-!”)#I need me more Danny & Speedsters

Help Wanted ≠ Send Sacrifices
Danny gripped his bangs in his fist, staring down at the paperwork before him with endless frustration and not a lick of comprehension.
Why was there so much paperwork, anyway? Pariah Dark hadn't exactly seemed like the type to keep records. Had he done this on purpose? As punishment to whomever wound up taking the throne from him? Danny had to admit, that sounded like a really devious plan. Unless the next ruler had been, like, The Secretary Ghost or something.
… that gave Danny an idea.
Clockwork had told him about this "Kingly Connection" thing he had yet to try out. Supposedly, it made it so that the king could address his subjects all at once, no matter where they may be. In case of an urgent announcement or Realms-threatening danger, or something.
To Danny, it sounded like a really efficient way to send out a 'Help Wanted' ad. Everyone would be able to hear it, and anyone who for some reason didn't could learn about it through word of mouth. Those who felt they were qualified could come see him at the Keep, and those who didn't could just continue on with whatever they'd been doing. It was the perfect plan.
Danny flopped back in his seat, relieved for the reprieve as he shut his tired eyes. He followed the pull, down, down, into his core… and then even further, til the light behind his eyes got brighter, til he reached the power of the KING.
Hey, everyone. This is your King speaking. I need like, a secretary or something. Someone who can help me handle literal millennia of paperwork. So, if y'all could come on down to the Keep, or pass the offer on to the smartest person you know, that'd be dope.
Danny felt as the power pulsed within his chest, sending his message out along the millions of tiny strings tying all Undead souls back to his. He sighed and slouched in his chair, exhaustion finally catching up to him. All he had to do now was wait. A little nap in the meantime couldn't hurt, could it?
— — —
Jason felt simultaneously floaty and more grounded than he had since his mysterious resurrection. All his anger and uncertainty was just gone, replaced by pure drive and direction. He wasn't thinking very deeply, but he knew what he was doing. It was like laying on the surface of a sunlit lake, letting the gentle waves take him wherever they wished.
The Red Hood finished the chalk circle in the middle of the wide, empty warehouse floor and stepped back. The lines and starbursts that decorated it were drawn immaculately, without a single smudge. Now, all he needed was…
… the smartest person you know…
… Where was Tim?

Oh.. un hi Uncle Ed?
Riddler was checking his watch, waiting for his henchmen to come bringing two Wayne they said they found on time in the Distraction at the Museum.
20 minutes before show time.
He walked towards the first tied up wayne as keeping two apart in separate rooms was a brilliant idea. Only this wayne was oddly wearing casual clothes that seemed more mid western state that made his eyes narrow in silent calculations. Grabbing the brown bag covering the Wayne head and pulling it off.
A very familiar yet annoying face with a splatter of face paint of planets and stars. Blue eyes who recognized him not in fear but a quiet joy that made Riddler's face go flat with tired sighed.
"Danny, what are you doing in Gotham, and please don't tell me your parents are in gotham?" Riddler asked, pinching his fingers between his nose.
"Oh..umm.. hi Uncle Ed? Ah no. My parents are spending a trip in the Bahamas cruise with vlad? I'm just.. Freelancing while Jazz in Collage over here?" Danny said with a nervous smile his eyes flick a bit to the right as he trying to keep a strong gaze at his uncle who face palmed his hand.
"You snuck over here when you're supposed to be with Alicia for the summer. Did we not have a whole PowerPoint discussion with your parents about you staying away from Gotham City even if im no longer on probation to not teach you?" Riddler groaned as he untied his nephew, mumbling about getting his stuff back from his henchmen later.
"You know, Aunt Alicia doesn't like me much, and Jazz talked about this crazy clown trying and failing to off her due to Fright Knight, and I'm not getting out of this even if I pay you?" Danny, stop trying the excuses at point blank as he follows his uncle slowly our his secret hideout.
"Maybe, but your parents are still going to find out, then I'll be to blame for not telling them about you staying over here with me, and you know how your mom get about me."
"Is she still salty about that incident with bumbl-
"Yes, she still is ab- watch out for block step 3 by 9-, and I swear she has a bazooka carved with my name on it for the day I visit your house." Riddler sighed, disabling the traps he had set out earlier as easily as breathing while Danny avoided the white and black checker floor block before he stepped on it weight sensor pressure.
"..."
"I'm still sorry, and thank you for taking the blame that day, Uncle Ed." Danny whispers softly.

DPxDC Idea
Danny working at Wayne Enterprises as some sort of engineer, uses the in-house app for all his blueprints and stuff
He starts getting notes from a coworker in-app, and assumes its this annoying older guy in his department who constantly undermines him because of his age, despite his education and past achievements (i feel like in this AU the Fentons react well to the reveal and they work together on a number of non-lethal ecto inventions that have Danny's name attached to them)
Except one day his coworker mentions never using the app, and Danny suddenly realizes there's only one other TD he could've been arguing with in the notes of the app

Danny and Tim are married. (Sacrificial Bride, Meddling Ancients, Tax Benefits, etc.; exact details are dealer's choice.)
The Bats do not know Tim is married. They find out because Tim gets grievously injured. High on pain, blood loss, and/or the good drugs; he turns to the nearest Bat and slurs out, "Don't tell my husband."

Their heart shattering with every ragged breath u take and every sob that escapes your lips

DPxDC Ignorantia Neminem Excusat [part 2]
[Ignorance excuses no one, lat.]
[ <- part 1 ]
Now that Tim thinks about it, it does look ominous.
A seven feet tall, cylindrical glass tube that emits a soft, slightly pulsing green glow, countless cords and wires plugged into its base. It made sense at the moment — a giant space station needs a giant power source — but right now, when Tim knows what that entitles, it's... he bites on his cheek and looks back down to the tablet he is holding.
"Ten more minutes," he says, his words echoing off the walls of the room. Tucker nods, not taking his eyes off the battery — or, rather, a containment device.
Tim doesn't look at him either. The twisted, nagging sense of guilt is eating him alive: it's been almost two weeks since the legally nonexistent boy demanded a meeting with Batman. Two weeks since they've learned that the Watchtower's shiny new power source is just a fancy name for a cage holding an interdimensional being.
If it was up to Tim, he would have broken this glass the moment they've got their hands on the extensive, irrefutable proof that Tucker all but threw in their faces. Unfortunately, that would have resulted in the whole Watchtower losing power and possibly going off-course, and they couldn't risk it.
Tucker, with his pale, eerily still eyes, understood it. He said a week or two won't make a difference at this point, and the one held inside the capsule would have been gravely offended if his rescue ended up in malfunction of a whole space station. He said he'll wait, and he kept his back straight and his head high as they've spent those two weeks tracking and locating various other batteries and setting the souls within them free.
The seconds tick by so slowly that Tim feels like all three of them — him, Tucker, and the ghost inside the tube — are stuck in amber. He looks down to his tablet again.
Nine more minutes until all the main systems are safely switched to an emergency generator.
"Tell me about them," he asks, surprising even himself with it. Tucker turns to look at him, his eyebrows raised, the green light of the battery making him look like something out of a horror movie. Specifically the zombie apocalypse one.
"About who?"
Tim nods to the capsule in front of them.
"You're not exactly subtle," he shrugs when Tucker just keeps silently staring at him. "The way you spoke about this particular cell sounded like, whoever is inside it, you know them personally."
The silence stretches for a few more seconds, clogging Tim's ears like someone poured honey inside them. Then, Tucker looks away, his gaze returning to the capsule.
"He was my best friend since kindergarten," he says, and the air gets stuck in Tim's throat. "And I watched him die."
The other spirits that they've freed, they were all ghosts, souls of the deceased, Tim knows that. Some of them looked like blobs — emotional imprints, Tucker said — others took forms of animals or plants. They've seen a few humanoid ones as well, but it was easy to distance himself from them, to not get attached or involved. They were just faceless civilians, in a sense, however morbid that sounds.
And now, the sudden reminder of the fact that all of them were living beings once, that they've had friends, and families, and maybe their whole lives in front of them, feels like a punch to the gut.
"It's a bit ironic," Tucker continues, a humorless smile on his lips, "He wanted to be an astronaut. He wanted to go to space," he almost laughs, and the unnatural light of the tube makes his features look sharper than they are, "Beware of what you wish for, or something like that, I guess."
Tim stays quiet, forgetting to pay attention to the timer on screen.
"He was- he still is kind of a hero in our hometown," Tucker continues, "If I had to compare, I'd say he's a mix of Superman and Flash — heart of gold, but his mouth runs faster than his brain sometimes. And he kept somewhat of a nice relationship with most of his rogues, you know. Friendly banter and occasional team-ups and stuff." He takes a deep, steadying breath, his sad, bitter smile fading.
"It's what got him in here," he adds, the words falling into the silence like a rock in a pond. Tim blinks.
"Being nice to his rogues?" He clarifies, and Tucker snorts.
"No, I meant the heart and the banter, but, in a sense, you're not wrong either. As far as the agency's records go, he was captured while he was rescuing one of them." Tucker turns to look at the tablet in Tim's hands, "How much more?"
Tim looks down, abruptly reminded of the reason they are here.
"Uh, three more minutes," he says, but then grimaces and changes his mind. Bruce and the rest of the League can go fuck themselves, honestly, "Actually, you might want to start now. Disconnecting it would take time anyway," he shrugs, as nonchalant as it's possible in these circumstances.
Tucker stares at him, his eerie eyes looking almost grateful for a moment. And then Tim blinks and finds him on the other side of the room, kneeling on the floor with his fingers dancing over the battery's control panel.
Tim breathes out and looks at the ticking timer on his tablet. Two minutes and forty-five seconds. Tucker is a tech genius, they've all had time to see and appreciate it in the last two weeks, so he is surely going to finish working on the capsule sooner than two minutes. Yet, Tim can't bring himself to really care — he knows Bruce has probably set the timer with a few minutes of delay, just to play it safe. But even if he didn't, it's not like Watchtower will fall down from the orbit after a two-minute blackout, so-
A loud hiss interrupts his musings, and when Tim raises his head, he sees the glass wall of the capsule opening slowly, reluctantly sliding to the left. He only has a brief moment to be surprised — he knew Tucker worked fast when he wanted, but not that fast — before some kind of thick, green substance starts pouring out of it. Yet, instead of spilling on the floor, it glimmers and fades into thin air like fog.
This hadn't happened with any other batteries, Tim thinks, but then the capsule finally opens completely, and-
That's a person.
A person who looks the same age as Tim, his skin and hair lacking any kind of color to it like it's all bled out. A faded picture of a human being.
The toxic-looking liquid around him keeps leaking, turning into clouds of greenish white, ice cold steam. It's kind of pretty; it would have made a great picture, or, maybe, a painting if you ignore all the implications that brought it to life.
When the colorless boy starts falling, Tim doesn't even notice how he drops his tablet. He steps forward, reaching his hands out to catch him.
A moment later, he is holding a ghost in his arms. He is surprisingly — or maybe not so, considering his species — light; it's like holding something that's only slightly denser than air.
The boy sluggishly moves, shifting in his arms. His white, floating hair gets into Tim's nose, and he huffs, trying not to sneeze.
There's a quiet, almost sleepy moan that feels like a vibration on Tim's skin, and the boy lifts his head.
Tim's heart skips a beat.
His eyes are bright green, and they hold the whole universe within them.

The floating empire of Pharoah Duul Aman
It's not every Tuesday the Justice League encounters something like this, but this was new to Wonder Woman.
A giant island floating in mid air suddenly appeared in a flash of glowing green.
It was Egyptian yet futuristic, like Kemet, where a massive silver and green pyramid in the center with a large pulsing green ball constantly swirling in a barrier.
The building themselves were oddly a combination of modern with Egyptian hieroglyphics carved into them and plants coating and moving around buildings, puffing out icy breaths. It look to be a modern yet futuristic town.
There were people, yet.. odd looking with a pale blue color as some were floating around, the other chasing after their children, parents, floating babies sleeping above them attached to a purple leash wrapped around a Egyptian Mau cats as they talking about the next Hide and Fight game.
Before Wonder Woman could fly closer, she faceplanted right into a golden barrier.
...
...
...
Tucker Foley was desperate to save Danny. After the GIW last attack, they severely injured Danny who pushed tucker out of harm way with a new untested ecto blaster that was stolen from the Fentons before. They gave up on hunting and helped Danny after his revealing.
The Portal was malfunctioned and breaking apart as it slowing eats out the Fenton's basement into it, even as he incase the town in a barrier of his own making to push out the GIW all out and hidden around town.
Danny, who is lays on the makeshift bed outside the Fenton house, Fangs grinding in pain with trails of greens and red pulsing through his skin with frantic Jazz trying to find another ecto-dejecto in the Fenton mobile knowing there is no more.
His hands trembled as he was performing a ritual, writing another hieroglyphics in Egyptian symbol. Sam was out the circle holding the Scarab Scepter using fenton gloves to keep her mind from being enchanted by it dark power.
Tucker knew he was the reincarnated Duul Aman. He can still remember everything of his past life even though he lied to his friends about that time when he went mad with power.
He remembered how blood thirsty and enraged with guilt weighed down Duul Aman to madness upon remembered his friend Danyal, who sacrificed his life for him.
Danyal, who was a foreign slave yet closest best friend in the world, looks too like Danny. He never lied when he said he and Danny had been friends since forever.
He knew who danny was danyal reborn the moment he saw that birth marks on his heel, the very same cresent moon shaped mark right against his heel.
He will not fall into the same madness that consumed his past life. He will save his best friend even..
Tucker quietly inhaled finishing the last piece of the ritual as he held mumbled a prayer to Bastet for protection, holding out his hand to Sam for the Specter
"You know what to do if I can't handle it, Sam." Tucker said to her softly.
"Are you sure this will work, Tuck?"
"I'd study this for a long.. long time, I did all the calculations 7 times to save Danny and fixed the portal leaking into our town. I need enough power, or else the ghost zone is going to implode on all of us, taking the planet and this dimension with it."
"And if it doesn't work.. well, it's was great being best friend with you, Grass eater." Tucker wobbly crack a smile. Sam rubbed her teary eyes a bit.
"If we survived this, I'm so shoving you into grass even with reality morphing powers, Tucker."

ending an argument
"I don't care anymore."
"And now leave me alone."
"I hope you have a good life."
"Well, it is what it is."
"Nothing to be done anymore."
"It's time to get over this."
"We should stop trying to fix this."
"It's best if I go now."
"There is no winner in this."
"I can't do it anymore."
"Let's just stop this."
"I really wish the best for you."
"This is just not working."
"Well, goodbye then."
"I'm too tired to go on like this anymore."
"Maybe we should just end it here."
"I guess there is nothing more to say then."
