"kind've" lol
LOOK MAN. I post for FREE. You get all the gems but you also get kind’ve and you know why?
Because “kind of” is stupid. It doesn’t mean anything, it’s a nonsensical phrasing that English probably stole and if I’m gonna say nonsense anyway I’m gonna say it phonetically and also I think kind’ve looks nicer and if you read “kind have” when I write it that’s not anymore more nonsense than “kind of” is it?

No, but if you think about it, the Wayne boys are all somehow in the art industry.
We know Damian is a studio artist with his paintings and drawings, but we don't talk enough about how Tim is a photographer for the fun of it. Little perfectionist Timmy learning how to shoot well because if he's going to take stalker pictures, then they will be good stalker photos.
Dick is an expert aerial artist, because duh. And Jason 100% writes short stories and poems of all genres. He probably doesn't publish and if he does, it's under 1,000 different pen names, but he definitely has Agatha Christie, Little Women, LOTR, and Dracula-style stories hidden away.

May I ask the software you use to write?
Congratulations on getting so much done!
Thank you so much. And, of course.
I use the Reedsy Book Editor for all of my writing projects, and I've been using it for about three years now. I also have experience with other amazing softwares, and I would love to create more tutorials on them if you need me to.
Here's a quick tutorial on how to use the Reedsy Book Editor.
When you visit the website, the first thing you'll come across is this page. It's a completely free writing tool with a fantastic interface. All you need to do is sign up with your Google or Facebook account.
Tumblr media
After you've completed the sign-up process and provided some information about yourself, you will be directed to this page. Please locate the "Books" option in the website's header.
Tumblr media
Feel free to give your book/WIP (Work in progress) a title. Remember, it's okay if it's not your final title, as you can always change it in the settings of your book later.
Tumblr media
Once you've created it, you can take your time and when you're ready, you can click "Write.”
Tumblr media
Once you click "Write," you'll be directed to the next page. There, you'll find your chapters, the space to write your manuscript, and a sidebar with various helpful features provided by Reedsy.
Tumblr media
Then, you can choose any name for your chapter that feels meaningful to you.
Tumblr media
You can also track your writing goals for your specific manuscript or book. This feature provides insights into your writing habits, such as the days you've written and the number of words you've written. You can also set a target word count goal for the manuscript, and you also have the option to set manual writing goals. Additionally, you can check the word count in your current chapter from the bottom of the widget.
Tumblr media
You have the option to set a deadline and choose the days that work best for you to write. This will help Reedsy estimate a realistic word count goal for you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Remember that on Reedsy, there's a new beta feature that allows you to plan and outline your novel without having to leave the website. It offers note cards for you to jot down the plot and scenes from your novel, which can serve as a helpful guide and provide a simple outline to support your writing process.
Tumblr media
Also, don’t forget the various features available to you when creating your book in Reedsy. For instance, you have the option to include preset formatted pages such as a dedication page and an epigraph that resonates with your story. These features can add a lot of value to your book, and I encourage you to explore them further.
Tumblr media
Hopefully this can help you understand the basics of Reedsy Book Editor. One of my favorite writing softwares that is completely FREE!
Hey fellow writers! I'm super excited to share that I've launched a Tumblr community. I'm inviting all of you to join my community. All you have to do is fill out this Google form, and I'll personally send you an invitation to join the Write Right Society on Tumblr! Can't wait to see your posts!

So funny that I always search up the names of potential publishers to look into like I have a manuscript finished to pitch to them. Look, I don’t even have a first draft done, it’s just nice to know my options, okay—?

Also, just a gentle heads up: a lot of people seem to be under the impression that I have a lot of money or a big team working on my books. That is not the case. I'm an average girl who works an average job. Most of my income goes to cat food. Writing is just a side thing I do because I love it. I make very little money from it. My "team" is me and a couple of friends who have self-published before and can give useful advice.
This post isn't aimed at anyone in particular, nor was it prompted by a specific incident. There just seem to be a lot of misconceptions about me and I just wanted to make it clear that I'm an indie author with a couple of very kind friends. I am not (nor have I ever been) a famous author with a sleek, professional New York City editorial team.

Not Rick's editor admitting on a podcast that they don't have a series bible and have been relying on the fandom wiki for information since HOO.
That.
That is a large reason why his books suck ass and are so inconsistent and why every single character has been butchered since PJO.

not a ron weasley suggestion i’m afraid, buuuuuut if you’ll allow me to wiggle my way into your brain holes anyway…………… professional editor! theo x famous author! reader has been rattling around in my skull for DAYS
wait this is so good tho… i see them with a frenemies type of dynamic, where they always tease each other, but also care for each other on a much deeper level, which eventually leads to a relationship. you roll your eyes whenever he sends you the book back with new edits, he always leaves snarky little comments in the shared google doc. but he’s also the first one to defend you whenever critics are being unfairly harsh, and you always make sure to thank him on the dedication page <3

wait, does Shannon refer to them as males and females? I hadn't noticed.
She didn't used to, but around book 5-6 that changed. Here's the first examples that come to mind, though this, of course, isn't exhaustive
page 35 of Nightfall, when we first meet Livvy:
Tumblr media
Page 689 of Nightfall when we meet Vespera:
Tumblr media
Page 31 of Flashback, when we meet Fallon:
Tumblr media
Page 34 of Flashback, when we meet Luzia:
Tumblr media
Page 130 of Flashback, in reference to Grizel, and my personal most-hated:
Tumblr media
Compare all this to how Shannon wrote character introductions in book one.
Here's page 50 of book 1, when we meet Alden:
Tumblr media
Here's page 57, where we meet Bronte, Kenric, and Oralie:
Tumblr media
Here's 79, Quinlin's introduction:
Tumblr media
Page 90, Tiergan's intro:
Tumblr media
And page 96, Della's first appearance:
Tumblr media
I know most of the male/female examples are female, and most of the book 1 intros are men, but that's just unfortunate data collection on my part. Shannon's not introducing men and women differently, as you can see with Fallon and Della's examples.
I think it's gotten a little better recently? In Unraveled people are referred to as women and men/guys. Though that could be because they're human, so I guess we'll have to see how it goes in book 10.
But anyway. This shift from men/women to male/female as the series progress has always personally bothered me. It's so blatantly just following the trend of popular fantasy books and does not work at all in the world Shannon's established--the only time it's ever relevant is when in Legacy in Keefe's memory Gisela tells her to take the letter and Fitz points out she said to a "man" instead of "elf"--which is something we had no precedent for. There's never been a distinction in language until that moment.
It's just all around really bad and icky and dehumanizing and I hate it. I'd like to return to the og "figure" and "elf" descriptions Shannon used to use. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk
