Captain Diaz yelling at Buck not to go any further in2 a compromised structure during a fire but ofc he does anyway - and his heart's beating out of his chest and he keeps checking for Buck on radio but he stops responding and then there's a huge flare of smoke and the whole thing trembles - atp he knows that theres only one thing to do and that's go in after him but just as he gets closer Buck's there carrying the kid who went missing and right after he brings her to EMS his knees buckle and Eddie's right there, he's hefting Buck's long colt legs up into a stretcher and following him in2 the back of the ambulance. And he's so - he's so angry, how could Buck be so careless and reckless and thoughtless? But then Buck's fluttering his eyes and flashing his dazzling white smile and saying "Cap, knew you cared" as his fingers tighten around Eddie's (who'd held his hand in a white-knuckled grip) and obviously Captain Diaz is beyond pissed but that's all for later, for now he can't help his smile and the way his fingers card through Buck's sooty hair

and eddie drops his head in a laugh, all the nervous tension exiting out of him , hair falling on his forehead .. eyes still kind of shiny.. bc he does care ok? god fucking help him..he fcking cares… “you little shit lol” but there’s no heat to it, it almost sounds like an endearment…especially with his hand soothingly in bucks curls .. but his voice sounds hushed and worried when he asks “what were you thinking buck…”

TK crawls up his body as if he’s a path only he gets to trek. As soon as they’re face to face, TK briefly stills, falling even more in love with his husband’s eyes. Brown, warm, and somehow both inviting and begging to be let in. TK wants to tell him that he doesn’t need to beg; there’s a place in his heart where he’s always welcomed. Carlos smiles and TK’s pulled out of his thoughts, smiling back, almost subconsciously. He can’t help it, Carlos just has this effect on him. He leans in, and Carlos opens his mouth, the heat tantalizing and teasing.

TK unfurls an exaggerated, euphoric sigh. He can feel any and all tension ebb away, his most intimate parts starting to find his husband more than familiar again. His husband’s tongue continues to unravel him until Carlos is asking if he’s ready for him. TK nods, but then hastily reaches behind him, grabbing onto Carlos’ wrist, causing Carlos to still. TK lets go before turning himself around, maneuvering himself so they’re staring at one another. TK snakes his hand behind Carlos’ head, pulling him in for a kiss before drawing away and saying, “I want to look at you.” He wants to get used to the sight again, now that it feels more permanent. Carlos’ heart flutters, butterflies dancing in his chest. He feels like he’s falling in love all over again. Maybe that’s because he is.

i think one thing that’s hard about writing fluff and/or shorter blurbs n junk is the like to reblog/comment ratio. i think the mentality is something along the lines of “oh cute! like n move on.” likes are great, i don’t mean to sound ungrateful, but likes don’t tell an author what their work meant to you. a like won’t convey that you got butterflies from reading that blurb, or that even though it was short there was shakespearean prose in it. i really don’t think a work should mean any less (or at least SEEM to mean any less) because it’s silly, or short, or not as deep as other kinds of fanfic.

Alpha-17 being a mother hen to the other Alphas* is something we need to see more. Jangotat survives because Alpha stomps in, shrieking obscenities, and drags his ass away, pausing only to yell at Obi-Wan for daring to put his little brother in danger (nevermind that that's what they're currently supposed to do). Maze doesn't tell him about Ordo punching him because if he did, Alpha would make sure the body wouldn't be recognizable as a corpse. Muzzle and Fordo don't get that brotherly overprotectiveness because they're just as prone to mother-henning as Alpha is. On their days off, the three of them team up to make the lives of anyone who dares fuck with their siblings hell.

*Specifically the Alphas that serve the Republic. Do you really think Mr. "They grow up loyal to the Republic or they don't grow up at all" would be at all sympathetic to Sull and Spar's reasons? The best case scenario is that he tells them that he's pulled some strings (read: blackmailed and threatened) to get them back into the GAR scot-free and if they do not accept it he will break their fucking limbs and drag them back.
