because the gods put mortals in the untenable position of having to do their dirty work for them, either because of a cold-war-type pact of avoiding direct action against one another, or because they're too proud/think of mortals as disposable.

because the gods are merely ascended mortals who have amassed power that is rightfully dispersed throughout all peoples.

because the gods tried to kill you first.

because you lost something precious that can never be restored, and you hate the gods for not thinking it was important enough to intervene.

because the gods use children as their soldiers and oracles, and these children inevitably die horrible early deaths.

because you crave their power for yourself.

because the gods are parasites, sucking mortals dry of belief and faith and will to act.

because the gods were created by mortals, not the other way around, and the mortals who created the gods use them to enact a cruel cultural hegemony.

Easily distracted, she learned to set alarms and timers for just about everything in her daily life, so it didn’t strike her as odd when something in her bedroom started chiming. That it proved to be coming from the pocket of her winter coat, so recently put away for the year, stirred her curiosity, however. She looked inside the pocket, and found herself transported to a snowy landscape under a woolen sky, in which ominous bells were tolling out warnings of some great task forgotten.

Free the artist quest

basically turned Shadowheart into an exorcist by removing curses. Tedious.

After the task and claiming my reward, I decided to swap my tav with Astarion thinking he needs a self portrait cause he has no reflection. Oskar did the same dialogue and gave me a painting.

Then I tried using my Tav again to chat with Oskar. He offered the same reward. So the next step I did was bring everyone, even the hirelings. So I had a total of 14 paintings worth 1,500 gold each. I just need to find shops that have enough gold to buy.

I could write essays on how much I adore uquiz as a medium for interactive storytelling, but the best form of explanation is often example so please enjoy my long (genuinely, it's enormous) and slightly pretentious (sorry), uquiz about going on a Completely Normal Quest!!!!

Chapter V : Act VI "A Space and Time for You" What a beautiful quest !!! As usual, it gets pretty intense when we meet Dainsleif and Aether. Lots of lore to take in and process. I loved every moment of it !

And Dainsleif joining our team ? Really ??? He wasn't exactly a playable character yet, but hopefully he's coming soon !
