ever since setting up web feeds in inoreader for dropout i have sometimes seen the same video multiple times with different timestamps, and i've always assumed that means they had to edit something and republish, and usually i have to wonder what small tweak they made

RSS & You
A rundown on what RSS is, how webcomics can utilize it, and how readers can organize what they’re reading. This event is for webcomic creators and readers alike.  Catch a replay of this event on the Cartoonist Cooperative’s YouTube channel! My RSS Comic [ID: A graphic announcing "RSS & You" for the Nib and Ink Fest 2025 on May 17th, 2025 at 1:00 PM EST on Zoom featuring panelist Jey Pawlik. The panel description reads, "A rundown on what RSS is, how webcomics can utilize it, and how readers can organize what they're reading. This event is for webcomic creators and readers alike." An anthropomorphic inkwell and an anthropomorphic dip pen both holding comic pages decorate the graphic. /end]

I am, yet again, working on a 'All you need to know/series breakdown' video!
This time about a Netflix show called FAKES (2022)
I am calling out to all of the fans of the show here; what is an information, funfact or other, that you think should really be in such video?

You know what, I’m sharing this video. I would highly recommend people using a RSS reader if they desire to be notified on everything/everyone that they follow.
This goes for if you don’t want to a company to be giving you email newsletters, be notified on fanfics of a specific filter, webcomics, a Neo-cities site and more!
And for people who run individual websites, encourage more people to use RSS so they can be notified when you’ve updated.
The person in the video throughly overviews how to use one, and some starting off things to get you set up.
I have been using it for over a month now, and I can say that I have saved plenty of time and more organized when using the internet! :)

"live service games" (games that update regularly, typically monthly or weekly) are actually entirely viable if you just disregard profit. like the only real thing fucking the whole system here is how much money you have to pump into them. so, if you could simply... GET RID of the required profit paradigms involved in the creation of a game like this, youd be set. (provided the game is actually fun in the first place)
how do we do this? COMMUNITY MODDING SUPPORT! i am very willing to argue that there are tons of games out there that have totally ethical and really good "live service" flavor, as long as youre willing to mod them. modded balatro is a live service, gmod is a live service, minecraft, factorio, gzdoom. MARIO 64 IS THE BEST LIVE SERVICE GAME ON THE MARKET.
when you outsource a majority of your content creation and distribution to the community, your game will never die as long as its good. it doesnt matter if ONE MOD takes 6 months to release new updates, because its likely that if your community is strong enough, there will be 20 other mods that are all getting updates as well. hideous destructor updates like weekly dude.
there will come a day when every major live service game will get beaten out by 3 guys in a basement who decided to add LUA or C# support to their looter shooter indie game or whatever. the future is bright, never kill yourself.

so the vimeo-based video sites don't have rss feeds (youtube and nebula both do), and generating an automatic web feed in inoreader doesn't work. BUT if you do manual setup of a web feed it's super easy, so i can finally stop missing when new episodes go up. i imagine it would work just as well with any other rss reader with the ability to generate web feeds/monitor site changes.

A bit of an update
My next videos for my 'film focused' channel:
- Fakes (2022) all you need to know/breakdown
- Woodland (2020) focused video that I will not be reavealing context of yet
- The Attention (original RSS short film)
- Mr Robot Season 1: All you need to know/breakdown
Subscribe to my channel if any of these are of interests to you, and tell me what other movie/show should I focus on.
I already made a short fanfilm for Faith: The Unholy Trinity and The Collector Movies breakdown.

What Is Zynith Up To On This Fine Evening?
Trying to figure out how to use RSS feeds [aka my adhd decided this was what I was doing today]
It has something to do with this blog. well, getting info from this blog to put it somewhere else. Did you know Tumblr gives you the ability to make your blog into an RSS feed?? Just add /rss at the end of your url- or something like that idk go look it up for yourself.
And if you're really insaine(like me), you can set it up so that it only pulls posts in your blog that have a tag of your choice... I shall never reveal my secrets... or maybe I will. depends on if anybody wants to do the insaine shit I'm doing- which is unlikely considering this is difficult XD
Well, at least if any of my friends see this and need help with RSS feed shit, you know who to go to for help.
