"I recognize that as a White man, I have privilege. And as an elected official, I have a responsibility for the words I use — especially in the heat of the moment. Regardless of what I meant to say, I shouldn’t have used that language," he added.
Am I surprised that a so-called 'Democrat' from Maryland is currently ratfucking our Democracy, just enough to keep conservatives in power? Absolutely not. #Maryland has a very long history of Champagne Socialism, ie, wealthy asshats who have long used the 'Independent' moniker as an excuse to judge from a lofty perch. We have quite a few saboteurs to get rid of, but everyone, please thank piece of shit, #DavidTrone for making sure that we stay in a state of LIMBO, in Congress, as he shovels red meat to the Right, with lightning speed.

ICE/Rep. LaMonica McIver/Mayor Ras Baraka Round Up: Published 5/21/25
The Government is claiming that LaMonica McIver standing peacefully with her back to them while they pushed her around somehow proves that she was out of control violent as one of them pushed her into another one at one point during their illegal and unjustified arrest of Ras Baraka.

If this had happened under Joe Biden or some other Democratic president, we know the Republicans on Capitol Hill would be howling loudly, and 24 hours a day, on the Senate floor or Fox News and everywhere else, for the heads of every person involved in this disaster. In this case, I think it’s a moment for top Democrats — who are rightfully under fire for their milquetoast response to Trump so far — to finally act like their aggressive GOP counterparts. The minority leaders — Sen. Chuck Schumer and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries — and others need to go before the cameras today and demand that Waltz, Hegseth, and perhaps other key officials resign. Who knows? Maybe the massive stupidity of the Yemen group chat is the tiny air vent that can cause their Death Star to finally blow up.
But make no mistake, the biggest scandal of the Yemen group channel is simply the fact that it existed, on a not-fully secure commercial app like Signal — a screwup whose magnitude was shown by Goldberg’s accidental inclusion.

With the elected officials trying their hardest not to move a muscle, reports confirmed Monday that top Democratic leaders in Congress were standing real still in hopes that the American people wouldn’t notice them. “Don’t make any sudden movements, or they’ll spot us,” Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) said out of the corner of his mouth, tightly squeezing his eyes shut as he reminded Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) and Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to hold their breath anytime a member of the voting public walked by. “Did it work? I think we’re in the clear for now, but that was a close one.

President Donald Trump and his team were in contact with top congressional Republicans before his strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, but top Democrats were not told of his plans until after the bombs had dropped, according to multiple people familiar with the plans.
The top two Republicans in Congress, House Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune, were both notified of the US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities ahead of time, according to multiple GOP sources.
But Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries received notifications shortly before the public announcement — and after the attack itself, people familiar with the notifications said. Sen. Mark Warner and Rep. Jim Himes, the top Democrats on the Senate and House intelligence committees, were similarly not told until after the strikes had occurred, sources said.

NO WAY! Democrat Hakeem Jeffries has been mentioned and has attended multiple, infamous "Freak Off" parties, and involved in the Diddy trial.
Diddy claimed Rep. Jeffries was allegedly a recurring guest of honor at covert "Communist Party Freak Offs," and often insisted on the presence of young Hispanic male performers costumed as flamboyant versions of Fidel Castro, complete with glitter covered fatigues and choreographed cigar routines themed around exaggerated communist nostalgia.
Sources familiar with the investigation say the parties began with theatrical and controversial acts, including staged flag burning performances meant to lampoon Cold War hysteria.
This is going to get even crazier as the trial progresses. Buckle up because the trial is just getting started.
Anything seems to be possible with Diddy and these "Freak Off" parties.

Musk and House Republicans are still pushing KOSA
The bill is still being pushed at the end of the year. We need to keep up the pressure to stop KOSA from passing.
This is more pressing with FTC Commissioner Andrew Ferguson (whose agenda has been revealed to be very transphobic) being selected as Trump's nominee for Chairman of the FTC. If KOSA passes, this will give him and the Trump administration the power to attack online platforms that "harm children," making it harder to share progressive content and organize online.
So this week, keep making calls, emailing, and faxing your Representatives and these House leaders as well.
In addition to your House reps, call the House Leaders, especially the Republican leaders since they’re majority leaders:
Republican:
⭐Steve Scalise

Fax 202-226-0386
⭐Mike Johnson
(202) 225-2777
fax: (202) 225-8039
Democrat:
⭐Hakeem Jeffries
(202) 225-5936

Ilhan Omar

Here are scripts to use for the calls:
DEMOCRATIC VERSION:
I am urging you not to include KOSA in any end of year spending bills and to keep it from passing. With Trump ascending into office, this bill will give the FTC power to control speech online. FTC Commissioner Andrew Ferguson just came out with an agenda that will focus on going after online platforms for displaying LGBT content. With KOSA, this would only give them and republican attorney generals even more power to remove any content they deem “harmful”, which we know is an excuse to censor everything they don’t like. Suicide rates will skyrocket for marginalized youth with this bill restricting content.
200 human rights and LGBT organizations total came out in an open letter opposing it. The ACLU is against it. Hundreds of thousands of Gen Z are against it. We know the harms of social media, and we do not want this. Major news have reported that this bill actively harms kids.
The rewritten bill is still very dangerous, and giving any more power to Donald Trump to silence people he deems his “enemies” is a horrible move. With people like Donald Trump Jr. and Elon Musk supporting KOSA, this is enough of a sign to not push it forward.
Multiple experts agree this bill pushes age verification, even with the new language. KOSA hands more private data of children to third party companies. The updated language threatens encryption. How is this protecting children’s privacy? KOSA actively harms kids. Do NOT support this bill. Thank you.
REPUBLICAN VERSION: (pretend you’re GOP)
I am urging you VOTE NO on KOSA, the Kid’s Online Safety Act. Even with the rewritten language, this is still a dangerous bill that will harm children and censor pro-life content on the internet. Even with the new language, this bill still gives state Attorney Generals power to censor any content they don’t like. This bill would be weaponized by unelected bureaucrats to censor Americans, why else do you think Democrats are pushing it so hard? Why else would Biden and Kamala Harris support it?
Many news organizations have reported that this bill actively harms kids by exposing their private data to strangers under the guise of protecting them. We need to hold Big Tech accountable, but KOSA is not the solution.
The bill let any state attorney general and the FTC to sue any website for “harmful” content. Do we really want blue state lawyers deciding what can and can’t be allowed online? Big Tech is already censoring us. That’s why they support KOSA. This is massive government overreach. We need a bill that actually protects children by creating better security measures instead of bringing about more censorship to everyone.
Multiple experts agree this bill pushes age verification, even with the new language. KOSA hands more private data of children to third-party companies, which would put them in further danger. This also exposes everyone else. How is this protecting children’s privacy? What parent would want their child’s private data in the hands of strangers like this? KOSA is actively putting kids in danger. It censors our freedom of speech. Do NOT support this bill. Thank you.

🚨 BIG KOSA UPDATES FOR THE FINAL SECESSION WEEKS OF 2024
Recently, in a last-minute act of desperation, the Senate updated the language in KOSA to try and get House Leadership on board. According to those who have combed through it, this updated version is still bad and some, like Evan Greer, Director at Fight for the Future, still believe that the bill will not move anymore this year.
HOWEVER, this was a major update...
And because of this there will be a call-in day to Congress on this week. As I've been saying, we need to continue to call to ensure this bill does not move anymore this year. When you call make sure you oppose this bill and any attempts to add it to must pass spending legislation (one of our biggest concerns as we near the end of the secession).
We need to keep a huge eye out on this, no matter how unlikely it is to pass or get add to anything. CONTINUE TO CALL HOUSE LEADERSHIP & YOUR REPS‼️NOW IS THE TIME TO RAMP UP PRESSURE ‼️
⭐Mike Johnson: (202) 225-2777
⭐Steve Scalise: (202) 225-3015
⭐Hakeem Jeffries: (202) 225-5936
(Also noting how Republicans, like Rand Paul, still oppose this bill... it is controversial on both sides, so use the call scripts to call House Leadership & your reps)

Update: I was holding onto this post because I was waiting for more information about the Call-In day information, but as I was waiting, Punchbowl News updated that House Leadership was not swayed by the Senate's antics over the weekend, but this does not mean we stop calling. The calling solidifies our work for this year in stopping KOSA and sets us up for the work we have to do next year.

Oliver Willis at Daily Kos:
Democratic leaders on Capitol Hill held closed door meetings where they complained that voters from around the country are organizing and asking them to be stronger in resisting President Donald Trump’s harmful agenda. Axios reports that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries attended the meetings in question, along with members of the House Steering & Policy Committee. The outlet reports that a senior House Democrat told them that Jeffries is “very frustrated” at activist groups like MoveOn and Indivisible that have helped concerned Americans make phone calls to congressional offices. The source added that “people are pissed” that Democrats are receiving pressure to significantly increase their opposition to Trump. “There were a lot of people who were like, 'We've got to stop the groups from doing this,’” a source told Axios. Democratic Rep. Don Beyer of Virginia reportedly complained, "It's been a constant theme of us saying, 'Please call the Republicans.'" “Our supporters are asking Democrats to demand specific red lines are met before they offer their vote to House Republicans on the budget, when Republicans inevitably fail to pass a bill on their own,” Indivisible cofounder Leah Greenberg explained. She said voters have said they want more concrete action from Democrats beyond floor speeches decrying Elon Musk.
Since Trump took office congressional offices have reported a massive increase in calls. A memo distributed to Senate staffers last week read, “The Senate is experiencing an unusually high volume of inbound calls. External callers may receive a temporary busy signal when phoning a Senate office.”
Embarrassing and out-of-touch moment by Democratic leadership attacking MoveOn and Indivisible and similar groups.

We have known for years that dead Democrats still vote, but now a new precedent has been set: Dead Democrats also post posthumously to social media, especially when it is to condemn President Donald Trump over his dismantling of the Department of Education. On Thursday, Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva (D-AZ) passed away due to complications from treatment for lung cancer. Because of this battle, Grijalva has been mostly absent on Capitol Hill, and hadn't cast a vote since being sworn in on January 3, and voting for Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) for Speaker of the House. We all know how that went.
...
So it was curious that soon after Grijalva's staff posted the announcement of his death to his X account, that this extremely lengthy post appeared.
...
Last I checked, dead men don't post on social media. But being Grijalva was a Democrat, there are obviously exceptions. it was an important enough message that despite the fact that the congressman was quite dead, the message was still posted. After all, Trump firing nearly half the employees at the Department of Education was indeed the end of the world—or at least the ending of those in-kind campaign contributions from the teachers union for his living colleagues running for re-election. This is yet another reflection of the coordinated, lockstep campaigns of the Democrat Party blowing up in their faces. Instead of being savvy and on the mark, they come off braindead, and in the case of this one, downright awful. After posting the statement on his death, Grijalva's intern should have ensured this post never saw the light of day. Yet, it did go out, business as usual, and as of this writing, no mea culpas or apologies have been issued. This is rank incompetence, not to mention extremely poor taste.
And believe it or not this post was different than the one that was posted almost word for word from like 20 different Dem reps twitters today. Democrats really are the least authentic political party on the planet, huh?

Jeffries says Republicans should stick with bipartisan deal
By LISA MASCARO
House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries said a deal is a deal, and any discussion of Trump’s new demands for a debt limit increase are “premature.”
“This reckless Republican driven shutdown can be avoided,” Jeffries said at a press conference at the Capitol.
Republicans should “simply do what is right for the American people and stick with the bipartisan agreement that they themselves negotiated.”
Senior Republicans work to fend off shutdown
By STEPHEN GROVES
Senior Republicans broke from a meeting in the House speaker’s office saying they are still working on a bill to avert a shutdown.
Rep. Tom Emmer, the third-ranked Republican in leadership, said the situation was “fluid.”
Rep. Tom Cole, the chief Republican appropriator, said work had been “good.”
“I think there’s a path forward,” said Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, another senior Republican appropriator.
Still, any legislation would need Democratic support to pass Congress, leaving Republican leaders a treacherous if not impossible task of meeting Donald Trump’s demands while also gaining Democratic votes.
Democrats response to saving GOP from shutdown chaos? ‘Hard pass.’
By FARNOUSH AMIRI
Trump and his allies effort to torpedo a bipartisan spending agreement has left Democrats extremely frustrated after spending weeks engaging in good faith negotiations with Republican leadership.
After meeting with his caucus, Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries once again rejected any possibility that his members would bail out Republicans as the shutdown threat looms.
“GOP extremists want House Democrats to raise the debt ceiling so that House Republicans can lower the amount of your Social Security check,” Jeffries posted on social media. “Hard pass.”

It’s urgent to understand that Trump is not selecting his cabinet as much as he is creating his own reality, and daring our broken institutions like Congress, the Democratic Party and the mainstream media to point out these picks are buck naked as they parade criminally down Fifth Avenue on horseback. The reality-based community — from Maureen Dowd to Rep. Hakeem Jeffries to America’s fireside von Hindenburg in President Joe Biden — are all treating the incoming Trump like another president, when he is busy turning his unreality into our new reality, and ruling as a dictator.
The real reason Trump picked a sex fiend, dog killer, and anti-vaxxer for his cabinet
