i know fascism is rising everywhere, all politicans are corrupt etc etc. but it's never not a wonder to me to see that democracy functions in its most basic form in other countries. like canadians took in the environment around them, took note of the international politics and just changed their minds? voted differently this time? like what do you mean your presidents/prime ministers actually change every term? what do you mean the left/right idealogy takes turns every couple of decades? wdym there are cycles?wdym you haven't had the same dictator in a cloak of democracy for 30 years now?

It should be illegal for an employer to force you to stand during your job. I'll just fucking say it. There should be NO allowances for "company policy" on this. If a worker can successfully do their job SITTING DOWN there is NO reason to force them to stand.

I fucking hate "wealth management" companies.
#Like I know our current economic system pretty much requires them#But I can't help feeling that they shouldn't exist#A family member set up an account for me#And I appreciate the thought but#I'm just reading the terms and conditions and I keep going#Fucking bourgeoisie bullshit#I'm not even a communist or actually solid socialist#But goddam#Every bulletpoint is like “we may do this but we don't have to”#Fuck man wtf kind of client agreement is that#I have half a mind to liquidate this account immediately after getting it officially opened but I feel like that would be hurtful#The account managers or whatever there seem nice enough but I honestly don't want them handling money connected to me#They're part of the “shareholders' proffits are the priority” structure and from what little I've seen seem to hold that value#Which I really don't jive with#And like I said their ~contract~ is more about what they're ALLOWED to do that what they are OBLIGATED to do which just seems sketchy#Drunk tumblring#Yes I'm drinking while reviewing legally-binding documents#It didn't start out that way. This bullshit drove me to it.#At least my drinking decent whiskey like the people who actually use these companies. Lol#Fml#Why couldn't you just open a CD at a normal bank ffs#Tbh another reason not to completely close out everything and tell them to fuck off is#that I have aspirations of setting up like a trust fund (or something?) for my disabled friend in case I die#I should get on that#And I figure that's something these people could help with#In spite of what I said before#Idk man#I am just straight-up not having a good time bro#first world problems

I wanted to make this post while I was concussed (but couldn't) but I just remembered my anger about how much hoop jumping is required to call out sick for more than a day at an office. When I was concussed and literally wasn't supposed to look at screens for nearly a week, I was directed by my manager to:
1) send her documentation about my injury immediately (reasonable, but ouch my eyes)
2) document my sick leave time (for approval!) in the HR tool (she has my documentation?? why do I have to do this myself separately)
3) update my forecasted hours in our reporting tool
4) update my actual hours in a separate reporting tool
5) set up an out of office status on both my emails and my slack.
like what if I had been more seriously injured and couldn't do all this nonsense would you break down my door to fire me? or could you not fire me without me submitting something to four different apps in response?

The Unsung Hero of Pig Production: Why Clean, Cool and Fresh Water Is Non-Negotiable
Most of the time when we talk about optimizing pig production, the conversation usually revolves around feed formulations, genetics, housing, and things to do with biosecurity. These are actually important if you want to succeed, but there’s one important element that often gets overlooked despite its foundational role in pig health and productivity: water. Not just any water, but clean, cool,…

Parents: why doesn't my kid want to do anything???
Also Parents: Yep kid the world sucks ass and living in it means constantly being forced into relationships and communities that actively exhaust and poison you. Oh and your performance is being judged, and if you do poorly you'll be in trouble. No you don't get a choice, because I didn't.

Why IATF 16949 Is a Must for Automotive Suppliers in 2025
Tumblr media
In today’s fast-evolving automotive landscape, maintaining consistent product quality, safety, and reliability is no longer optional—it’s essential. As we move into 2025, global automotive suppliers are under growing pressure to align with stringent quality standards. Among these, IATF 16949 stands out as the gold standard for quality management in the automotive sector. If you’re an automotive supplier aiming for long-term success, IATF 16949 certification is not just a smart move—it’s a necessity.
What Is IATF 16949?
IATF 16949 is a globally recognized standard developed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) in conjunction with ISO. It harmonizes the various quality system requirements within the global automotive industry and is based on ISO 9001, with additional requirements tailored specifically for automotive production and relevant service parts organizations.
The standard focuses on defect prevention, continuous improvement, and reducing variation and waste in the automotive supply chain.
Why IATF 16949 Matters More Than Ever in 2025
1. OEM Expectations Are Rising
Leading Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) are increasingly requiring IATF 16949 certification from their suppliers. In 2025, this trend is set to intensify as companies seek to minimize risk and ensure uniform quality across their global supply chains. Suppliers without IATF 16949 certification may find themselves locked out of lucrative contracts.
2. Complexity in Supply Chains
The modern automotive supply chain is vast and complex, involving numerous vendors, locations, and technologies. IATF 16949 brings standardization, enabling smoother collaboration and integration between suppliers and OEMs across the globe.
3. Electric Vehicles & Technological Disruption
The shift to electric vehicles (EVs) and autonomous driving systems demands higher precision, safety, and performance. These cutting-edge components leave no room for defects or inconsistencies. IATF 16949 provides a structured approach to ensure flawless quality even in the most advanced manufacturing environments.
4. Regulatory Pressure
Environmental and safety regulations are tightening globally. With stricter laws on vehicle emissions, safety features, and traceability, IATF 16949 helps suppliers stay compliant through its systematic approach to quality and risk management.
Key Requirements of IATF 16949 Standard
Customer-specific requirements
Risk-based thinking
Product safety protocols
Contingency planning
Supplier management and development
Embedded software quality assurance
Change and configuration management
Warranty and field failure analysis
These requirements ensure that suppliers not only meet but exceed industry expectations.
Benefits of IATF 16949 Certification
✅ 1. Improved Product Quality
The core objective of IATF 16949 is to enhance product and process quality. This leads to fewer defects, reduced rework, and greater customer satisfaction.
✅ 2. Global Market Access
Certification opens the door to international markets, allowing suppliers to partner with major global automotive brands who mandate IATF 16949 as a requirement.
✅ 3. Risk Mitigation
By identifying and addressing risks early, the standard helps avoid recalls, penalties, and brand damage.
✅ 4. Operational Efficiency
Standardized processes, leaner operations, and improved supply chain collaboration lead to cost savings and increased productivity.
✅ 5. Competitive Advantage
In a crowded market, being IATF 16949 certified sets your company apart, enhancing your reputation and making you a preferred supplier.
IATF 16949 Implementation Process
Implementing IATF 16949 involves several key steps:
1. Gap Analysis
Evaluate existing systems and processes against the IATF 16949 requirements.
2. Planning & Resource Allocation
Form a cross-functional team, define roles, and allocate resources for implementation.
3. Documentation Development
Prepare the IATF 16949 manual, quality policy, objectives, procedures, and records as required.
4. Employee Training
Conduct IATF 16949 training for staff to understand the standard, their responsibilities, and how to contribute to compliance.
5. Internal Audits
Perform audits to identify gaps and ensure readiness for the final certification audit.
6. Management Review
Top management evaluates audit results, customer feedback, and overall system performance.
7. Certification Audit
A third-party body conducts the official IATF 16949 audit and, upon successful completion, issues the certification.

6-year-old Joan Al-Habil is has been repeatedly hospitalized due to severe gastrointestinal problems and overwhelming fatigue. This poor girl has been to multiple facilities and seen multiple doctors, undergone extensive testing (as extensive as is possible in Gaza's collapsed medical system), even having to endure an unsedated endoscopy.
Tumblr media
She has now been diagnosed with severe gastritis due to starvation and hazardous living conditions. Remember, she and her family are living on the streets, which are cold and wet due to winter rain. Homelessness, stress, exposure to the elements, her previous injury when the lOF firebombed her tent, and malnutrition all conspire to sap little Joan of her strength.
Tumblr media
Her condition is so serious that she even had to undergo surgery. Gastritis very rarely requires surgery to treat, so this is an indication of how dire her condition is. The surgery was successful to a degree, but she is going to need ongoing treatment to manage her symptoms.
Tumblr media
The treatments are administered weekly and cost $500 USD (just under €500 EUR). Her family has no income and cannot afford this. If Joan goes more than a few days without treatment, her symptoms worsen rapidly, and she sometimes has to be hospitalized. It is vital that we help her family procure her treatments so that her condition does not worsen!
You can help Joan get her surgery and treatment by
