X7 Narrative Overview Transcripts and Notes: Acts I-III
Hi there. Nothing revolutionary contained in this one, I was just bored so I decided to start writing everything I could see on the other slides I didn't end up doing when this stuff first came out.
This doesn't include the first slides of each Act, which are summaries of everything that happens in them. What's contained in *here* is just production notes and whatnot. Here's some links if you'd like to read something shorter that actually tells you what you're looking at.
Acts 1-3 Summaries Acts 4-5 Summaries
I need to stress by the way, I'm trying to not squint as much at these since it really hurt my eyes last time lol, so this probably won't have as much hard-to-see stuff as the other ones did. Also, length warning, there's more content in these so the post is way longer.
Including screenshots in case anyone else sees things better. Alrighty, have at it
act 1 da murda
Tumblr media
They want me to die so this one's a nothingburger and the stuff that could have been a somethingburger just straight up never becomes visibleburger
Location
Tumblr media
The timestamp seems to read "Season: Autumn (<5 min. post-Dream)"
This section of the game takes place at the Capeside Apartments, but rather than simply reusing the location from Disco Elysium, it appears they were remodeling and retexturing the maps. There are four images here: "Interior (Old)", "Interior (WIP)", "Exterior Dock (Old)", and "Exterior Dock (WIP)". Probably just so these parts can be visible from a different angle than the game.
This bit is never zoomed in enough for the other text to even become blurry pixels, sadly.
Characters
Tumblr media
Five characters appear in this segment of the game: Beast de Ruyter, Cuno's father as seen through his eyes (crucial); Cuno and Cunoesse (crucial); Call Me Mañana (on the cusp between "necessary" and "supporting"); and The Swarm, Cuno's box of locusts (necessary).
The video never zooms in close enough to see the other text clearly, but some of the concept art on these slides appears at full size later on in the video.
Plot Details
They don't even want to give me a chance. The text never even becomes a visible blur, it just stays as lines. There is this odd little "FELD" thing in the top right corner though, I guess?

Tasks
Tumblr media
Critical tasks:
First, survive
Return to Cuno's Apartment - [...] Completed when both Cuno & Cunoesse have [...]
Find what's left of Cuno's people [A/N: probably The Swarm]
Subtask: Find something to carry the survivors [A/N: probably the box he carries The Swarm in for the rest of the game] - Complete when Cuno [...] the remaining locusts in the box. [...]
Leave Martinaise forever
Reactivity/Outcomes: Three sticky notes. Too blurry to read.
Items
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Definitely: [Interactable item sticky with no text], [Family?] photograph (Interactable)
This section contains a screenshot of a mock-up of the in-game clothing system, with the items that both children are already wearing highlighted. I assume it to be such: For Cunoesse, hat, shirt(?), pants. For Cuno, shirt(?), pants, shoes. There's two sections that have nothing in them, one between Hat and Shirt and one between Pants and Shoes, but I'm not sure what they would be.
There is other text, but it never zooms in enough for it to be visible.
Maybe: [Two interactables, too blurry to read]
To Be Decided: x2 Healing Item (Consumable); x2 Hype Item (Consumable)
Section also contains one other consumable, two clothing items, and one interactible. One of the clothing items has a screenshot which looks to me like some kind of beanie and scarf set? Not sure. Can't read anything else.
Thoughts
Tumblr media
Cunoesse has one Thought, and Cuno has two, but I can't read them. I'm not a magician. Sorry guys...

Top text:
"On the splash screen at the opening of each Act (Location), the Player should immediately be given the ability to place themselves in time and space to understand how much time has passed since the last Act and how much distance remains to their destination. Each Act (Location) should be introduced alongside the distance to Hämärä Maa (in kilometres.) Therefore, the distance to Hämärä Maa will serve as a reference point for the gameworld and as a tension-building countdown towards the game's climax."
"1,347 km to Hämärä Maa (Tweak the numbers)"
[A/N: Hämärä Maa is likely named after a Finnish song by the same name written by Matti Esko. You can view translated lyrics in the reply section of my Acts 1/2/3 Summaries Transcript post.]
Note on Geography:
"Consulting the huge wall map of Le Petit Continent on the Jamrock Central station wall the kids learn there's a 14:44 train to June Cite, -- Revachol Express' Azure Sans-Détour -- that completes the 1300 km journey south in three days. Before reaching June Cite -- the third largest city on La Petite Continent -- the train drives past Rhône Tréville (formally Royal) Penal Colony. That's right across the bay -- few kilometers -- from Cunoesse's ancestral home -- Hämärä Maa archipelago -- marked as Breach Atol on the station map. If the kids could only find a way to stop the train there, they'd be almost home."
[A/N: chat, is it Le Petit Continent or La Petite Continent, why is it spelt both ways]
Jamrock Central
"Refer to Jamrock Central Map (hyperlinked) for more references." [A/N i would give anything to have this]
Sticky notes: [unreadable] Groningen station Green marble Peacock, cockatoo [unreadable]
[A/N: Groningen Station is the main railway station in Groningen, in the Province of Groningen, in the Netherlands. It's quite lavish. Many of the reference images on the left side of this slide are actually of this train station.]
Middle block of text:
"Jamrock Central is one of the three major transportation hubs in Revachol. The other two being railway hub in Ville de Charbon and the aerodrome on La Délta.
Jamrock station was erected about 150 years ago by the edict of King Philippe III the Squanderer. It was the height of opulance for the Philippian kings and and[sic] not a cent was spared building the station. The ceilings are high, the windows are huge, the floors are all marble and there are columns everywhere. It's the lavishness of the catholic church + of Sheiks of Dubai but with the taste and sensibilities of Louis XIV the Sun King. Or "was", because after the communards dethroned the Suzerains in the Antecentennial Revolution (Turn-of-the-century Revolution) and the Great Spending came to an end no one wanted to carry the insane upkeep costs. Nowadays the marble is cracked, the colors faded and no one is even thinking about renovation. The station is still very busy and multiple trains both regional and continental arrive and depart every hour.
Near the entrance is a fish pond turned wishing well. Beastmaster Raccoono can talk to the fish, Cunoesse can talk to the water and every 30 minutes the pond produced 0.50 cents from people wishing for stuff.
The station should be populated by lots of npc's barking as crowd in a way the Scabs bark in DE. Ideally there's lots of motion and commotion. The busier we can make the place look the better.
Notable areas might be: - The Fish Pond - Source of income, Cuno beastmaster reactivity, Cunoesse surface tension reactivity, foreshadowing the blind cave fish of Hämärä Maa) - The Ticket Offices - Might be just a dinow in the wall. Ask information, buy tickets, pull a schenanigan) - The Little Gentleman's Room (Piss Lounge for Noblemen? Salle de pisse pour Nobles?) - Rob Herculé, set fire to create a distraction to sneak aboard the train. - The Platform (maybe two sets of track visible?) - The one further back would be purely cosmetic -- inaccessible for PC -- and could show cool trains flashing by"
[A/N: Louis XIV, King of France in the 1600's, commissioned the Palace of Versailles and had a huge influence on French Baroque fine art and architecture. Also was notable for a bunch of other things, but that's what's relevant here.]
Middle image references: Estimated size of this map is compared to the whole road area of the Martinaise map, from the scab area down to where the lorries end near the open water lock. There are also some more reference images in black and white, as well as some more images labelled "Early platform concepts".
Right side: Title text "Arrive at dawn, leave at mid-day" A box titled "Visual references: Train, Exterior". Contains many older style train carriages and artworks. There's a draft logo with small top text "REVACHOL EXPRESS", large text below "AZURE SANS-DÉTOUR". There's two sticky notes, one reads "MARX!!!! HELP PLEASE!!!!!!". Middle text: "The Train from the next Act needs to be visible on the platform (exterior only.) Rough level map below; needs to go through several iterations with level & environment design." The rough level map is divided into the Pavillion and the Platform.

Plot Details
Tumblr media
There is a note on this slide that reads: "Information might be outdated, See the latest Progression Path in the Act II Miro board:"
Location Objective: "Get on the 14:44 train to June Cite. If possible, secure two train tickets. If not, get creative. You arrive at the Station at 07:30. Your time at the Station is limited."
Ways to board the train: "Ideal: You have two tickets. Show your tickets to the conductor and board. Sub-optimal: You have one ticket. Obtain a pet carrier from a Station NPC. Smuggle one of you in it. Inadvisable: You have no tickets. Create a diversion and board in the chaos. (?) Disastrous: Train is departing. Last calls, dramatic encounter where you [...] RC's to mitigate losses. [...] on the train, but you likely lose inventory, health... [has been cut]
The amount of tickets you are holding will have reactivity in the next chapter, as Trip the Train conductor will be able to casually blackmail you."
Ways to obtain tickets: "1. ONE can be stolen from the Ticket Office, if you manipulate the Young Kid to help. 2. ONE can be taken by force from the Young Kid, if the previous has happened. 3. ONE can be bought with fish pond money, but it takes a whole day of fishing for coins.
The dog carrier can be stolen from the Dog-Walker if you can trick the dog to get out.
The diversion involves setting fire to the men's room...?"
Plot:
Cuno and Cunoesse arrive in Jamrock Station at 07:30.
At a first glance it seems cops have beat them to it. Several groups of RCM patrolmen are moving around the crowd. You don't know this yet, but the cops aren't there looking for you, they're looking for someone else.
This "Criminal at Jamrock Station" side-plot will unfold in parallel to Cuno & Cunoesse's story, as their fugitive paths cross during Act 3 and possibly 4.
First they need to know how to get to where they are going. Consulting the huge wall-map of the entire Le Petit Continent the kids learn there's a 14:44 train to June Cite, -- Revachol Express' Azure Sans-Détour -- that completes the 1300km journey south in three days.
Before reaching June Cite -- the third largest city on La Petit Continent -- the train drives past Rhône Tréville (formally Royal) Penal Colony. That's right across the bay from Cunoesse's ancestral home -- Hämärä Maa archipelago. If they could find a way to stop the train they'd be almost home.
Originally, Cunoesse made her way to Revachol as a stowaway on a train along the same line, so she is trying to retrace her steps back home. (Being illiterate, she barely understands maps, and needs Cuno to connect the dots between her recollections and geographical locations.)
The task now is to find a way aboard the train. There's a number of ways to do it. Should they be able to acquire the means they can straightforwardly buy the tickets aboard AZURE SANS-DÉTOUR. Alternatives include, sneaking aboard, stealing a ticket from a young(er) boy or perhaps outright forging it.
The main goal in the Station should be getting aboard that train and one of the more obvious ways to accomplish that is to just buy two tickets. Tickets cost money. There are three ways to get money in the train station.
Fish coins out from the Fish Pond (0.50p/30min)
Beg for money. -- After talking to the character "beggar king" about begging and it's finer nuances and option to tell your own little sob story (Series of RC's on different character in station) to people owns up. Tell it convincingly and they'll give you their change.
Steal a number of items from NPC's in train station and sell them to Beggarking.
Criminal from Jamrock Station notices that and has reactivity to the fact in ACT III.
Once you've found a way to get past Trip and board the Train, the Act ends.
Tasks
Tumblr media
Note at top says: "This is a rough overview. The latest Task Chain can be seen in the Progression Path in the Act II miro board:"
Critical tasks: "Find out how to get to Hämärä Maa: Activates upon arrival at the Train Station. Completes upon FELD interaction with the Continental Map. Subtasks: Consult the (huge) railway map on the wall. Ask for directions. Find a way aboard the 14:44 train: There are multiple ways to go about this objective. Let the PLayer know that their time at the Station is limited. This task can fail if the time runs out and the train begins to depart, triggering a failsafe "jumping on board" sequence with critical penalties. (It might also mean a different starting point for Cuno & Cunoesse in Act 3, with them waking up in the Cattle Car instead of the Passenger Car.) Solutions: Buy a ticket; Smuggle one of you on board; Steal a ticket; Forging? Distraction?; Each one of these can be a task with its own subtasks."
Side tasks: "Make the kid stop following you Figure out Beggar King's luggage stealing ring Evade the RCM officers Deal with your injuries? Find new clothes?"
Reactivity/Outcomes: "How many tickets you have = the ease of Trip blackmailing you; Lost items, money, if boarded via failsafe; Criminal from Jamrock Station knows all you did at the Station, and he boarded the same train; Hercule either left behind safely, or mugged, stranded and possibly even stabbed"
Items
Tumblr media
At the top is a concept map of the station showing where items or perhaps people can be found. Note reads: "Please refer to the location map (hyperlinked) in Act II Miro for the latest number and distribution of items, NPC's and containers."
Definitely: None in this section
Maybe: Interactable: Can of dog food; Railway map of La Petit Continent; Book: interesting Zoology: Animal colonialism. Consumable: Candy stolen from a baby Other: Locust home upgrade item; an umbrella; Ring from the fish pond
To be decided: Clothing: a hat; Winter-barka; What are those? [A/N: ugly ass shoes]; Meque[sic] sailor shirt; pair of pants / a skirt?; Tioumoutiri T-shirt Consumables: x3 Substances, x4 Hype Healing item; x3 Hype Healing item Other: TBD ITEM from FISH POND

Systems: In-game economy: The buying-selling mechanic and the use of money start to play a role from this Act forward. Some preliminary design brainstorming needs to be done on the game economy, including what kind of merchants and money sources should each location require. Mechanic for a fishpond that generates 0.50 centimes every 30 minutes Special movement: Hercule pathfinding: See the Hercule character brief for the idea on the kid following Cuno & Cunoesse at a distance around the Train Station. He should initially be evasive and retreat if you try to approach him, only after some time you can catch up to him. Explore technical possibilities for implementing this kind of special pathfinding for Hercule. A large clock on the station wall which is in sync with the game one? Kid in a pet carrier: There's a sequence where the kids steal a dog carrier, and one of them crawls into it to be smuggled onto the train. There can be strategic screen fade to black to avoid some of the unnecessary animation work, but at the very least the player should be able to have a conversation with Trip where one of the kids' character model is replaced with a dog carrier model. Jumping on a train failsafe [has been cut]: Specifics are largely TBD, but there should be a scripted and [...] sequence where [...] in-game clock reaches 14:44, triggering a FELD-[...] where the [...] some Red Checks and jump on the departing train with minimum [...] losses. Introducing the Cooperative Red Check ?
Art: Map of La Petit Continent: Use the map from the Location Brief as reference. Half-screen sized, like Harry's *expression* painting. Afterwards, it should get added to the map roster in the journal screen. Should there be a marker on it that shows your location in each Act? Train Station map: Standard location map that automatically gets added to the Journal. Shows the layout of the station and platform. Should be done in the style of retro railway pamphlets / subway station maps. Location splash screen: This Act, and each consecutive Act, opens with a title screen overlaid on the environment (in the style of Control or Fringe.) containing the words "ACT II -- JAMROCK CENTRAL -- 1,347km to Hämärä Maa" [A/N - not sure what they mean by Control or Fringe] Kid in a pet carrier Dog model, running away Cuno and Cunoesse idles: Both in the free exploration of ACT I and in Act II, Cuno and Cunoesse's body language should be uncomfortable, suspicious - a lot of looking around and [...] kind of hunching into themselves, generally uncomfortable and [...] by possible witnesses. Jumping on board failsafe (animation) [has been cut] Hercule mugging animation Potentially animations for [...] other [...] the [...] dog [...] carrier [...]
Audio: Train Station foley: Voice calling out names of cities, murmur of crowds echoing in the waiting room space, sound of idling train engine on the platform, and more Action music for failsafe sequence?: The very short but intense failsafe sequence will require some action music. Since this is not necessarily the path the majority of players will see, the music doesn't need to be unique, it can be a piece of generic action music we will reuse in other tense chase/combat scenes as well. Dog/animal noises: voices for the dog in the dog carrier and/or other animals which might be present on the location. (Pigeons?) Subtle, occasional background music: The Train station is far less [...] than the Murder Scene, but still not as lighthearted or [...] as the Train. Most of the time, the Player's focus should be on the [...] sounds of the Train Station, and in the [...] of when a musical track is present, it should come with a sense of [...], feeling of tension, of looking over your shoulder, of being a fugitive on the run. Nothing [...], but rather a [...] reminder that this is not a place where you can relax. It is a place you are eager to leave, but you can't allow yourself to be too visibly agitated. Some musical references TBD?

Is ZUN Okay?
Now I might be the only person here, but does anyone else think ZUN is not okay?
He constantly complains about alcohol and his drinking habits inhibiting his work, feeling the need to drink otherwise it isn’t interesting to make the games.
In effect, he feels that AI should be used for better efficiency in his work because it is too much of a hassle to make the backgrounds, alcohol not helping. While constantly reusing old assets due to the amount of work exceeding his limits.
He feels the need to constantly produce new Touhou games, manga, stories, and all of this due to peer pressure from his friends and fans who want new games.
Many people seem to laugh at him saying he is the drunk guy who makes Touhou even though he has dreams to not be the “Touhou guy” in an interview. (Check out the Touhou Garakuta site)
He’s reaching the age of 50 and has been drinking for a very long time. This alongside taking care of his family seems to be a lot of stress put onto him.
Is he okay?

oh… i feel like i just gained forbidden knowledge, it’s not that hard to find if you really go looking though. it was amazing really, because it felt really cool and dumbfounding that this isn’t more common knowledge
but also makes sense, since not everyone gets invested in the lore of a small indie game development studio hahahah
(i've already shared this whole post's information at the wrong organ discord server almost verbatim, but i thought that the tumblr crowd might enjoy this too. i was told that i made some really good sleuthing with this hah)
it's about game files, textures, design details, and a previous project from the developers at wrong organ, which tie back into mouthwashing, at least in a subtle way in my opinion
it’s more about jimmy’s character design actually i know he was stated to purposely look like "your average joe" but personally i think there is more to it that wasn't mentioned, so strap in because this post is a little long…
okay… so!
some weeks ago i saw a post here on tumblr about an unused horse asset in the game files of mouthwashing, along with other multiple models and textures, and i thought it was interesting, but didn’t pay much mind to it
but yesterday i went around looking at the developer socials, as one does. first the wrong organ twitter account, which isn’t that hard to scroll at the bottom
i was looking at their mouthwashing memes really hahah
but then i saw in one of their old posts that someone asked about what happened to a shooter that was being developed, to which the account replied that it was sadly cancelled, and i thought “huh, i didn’t know about that, i wonder how it looked…”
cue more scrolling and a jump to johanna’s account
(she's wrong organ's co-founder by the way, obviously there’s people everywhere who don’t know this lol)
first i only looked at her retweets really, a bunch of outstanding mouthwashing fanart, but when i saw in passing mention that she also does art and i went "AWOOGA¿! FELLOW ARTIST SPOTTED"
immediate jump to her media tab so i could scroll from bottom to top
and oh boy
was i in for a surprise
remember the unused horse in the game files i mentioned earlier¿ YEAH THAT HORSE
well
going through johanna’s twitter gallery things started to connect, and man oh man… [VINE BOOM SFX]
Tumblr media
my first thought was
"HUH… that reminds me of someone……… and i’ve seen that horse before…………… surely not"
but that wasn't it
also remember when only recently people was like just noticing that jimmy had a faint scar on his lips¿ which in turn ensued a ton of fanart that included that miniscule detail¿
man… it’s so fucking obvious now—
Tumblr media
🤦
he’s a reused asset
WHICH MAKES SENSE BECAUSE TIME SAVING IN GAME DEVELOPMENT IS CRUCIAL
BUT BROOOOOOO HOW DID NO ONE KNOW THIS¿¿
it was hilarious when i shared this in the server because with this we finally knew where some of the emotes in there originated from, one of them being this protagonist's face hahah
here’s more about it for the curious
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the thing had plenty of models and animations already made too like, dude…
the fucking hair texture
THE TEXTURE
reusing assets my beloved
it's a real shame that game got cancelled, it looked very cool…
here’s a funny tho (me when honse)
Tumblr media
it even got to the wishlist stage, but ultimately it faded away 😔
anyways, horse rider with long rifle jimmy ancestor you will always be missed, see you space cowboy… and fly high
Tumblr media Tumblr media
hope you enjoyed reading my 3am rabbit hole on this niche piece of lost media heheheh :D

What makes you think the trailer is fake? I’m getting mixed messages from sources
I mean, it’s pretty obvious, I think.
Red Son and Shadowpeach are both prominently in the trailer, which is odd because Macaque and Red Son are peripheral characters.
Related to the last point — the last time a trailer was made for a new LEGO Monkie Kid season, there was painstaking editing to hide spoilers. (Although it didn’t get released until after the season was already out.) They would NOT show everything that they showed.
Red Son’s prominent feature also doesn’t make sense, because his voice actor said that he is only in one episode this season.
Since when has LEGO Monkie Kid EVER released a trailer BEFORE the episode was released?? This move is way too similar to that of a show with a functioning release schedule.
As pointed out by @yurious-george, there are a ton of blatantly reused animation and background assets from earlier seasons. They also pulled a lot of tricks where they just put old shots in as 'filler' to make the overall quality seem better.
Also pointed out by @yurious-george, they blatantly reused Sun Wukong’s English scream, and there is absolutely minimal voice acting from the section of the cast that's already shown up. It primarily uses a voiceover from a character who hasn't shown up yet. Very telling.

The new darigan styles are so good! I was never a fan of darigan lutari, but the styled one? incredible. in your opinion, what darigan pets got the biggest glow-ups from the new styles?
(For purposes of this ask, I am talking ONLY about the Daunting Darigan pet styles that were the most improved over the default art, not just the Darigan styles, Daunting or otherwise, that I like the most in general. Also the Varwolf is excluded for obvious reasons.)
Tumblr media
TNT did a really good job with the Daunting styles this time around. Sometimes they've either seemingly had trouble nailing the standard "old" Neopets art style (Halloween) or have just reused pre-existing art assets (Ghost, Baby Plushie, etc.). While there are weaker styles in this batch, the majority of them look really good, with far more getting the art style correct and a lot of really good and dynamic poses in this batch.
My only issue is that I think TNT sometimes feels the need to hold too close the original design's anatomy—the point of the old art is that the anatomy could be changed drastically to fit the color (Darigan Aisha, Eyrie), and here it feels like they insisted on taking the customizable anatomy and posing it with only one or two exceptions. It's not a huge deal, but something I think they should keep in mind as a option going forward.
Favorite Style Glow-Ups:

Chia: This is the design that I think improves the most over the original. First, the lineart and shading looks great, and the pose is good and feels properly Chia-ish. However, they also made a huge amount of improvements to the original design itself.
First, they got weird of the weird flat expression of the original in favor of something more mischievous, and gave it much bigger fangs. The wings are more proportionate, the claws are MASSIVELY improved and actually fit the foot now, and even the horns are both bigger and properly connected to the head. I also appreciate that they made the arm match the curve of the wing on the right side.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gnorbu: First off, this pose is amazing. And secondly, once again, he art style is on point and there are a few changes to the original design, which I never liked and always thought felt half-assed. The mouth now has some visible sharp teeth, the side marking is now rough and jagged instead of just being the default, the claws are bigger and now fit the feet properly, the ears are smaller and more pointed/fluffy, and it has a dark underbelly. Basically, in addition to the great pose and expression, it went from being a regular Gnorbu with some Darigan features tacked on to a proper Darigan Gnorbu.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lutari: The standard Darigan Lutari is another design that I don't think is good, and while I still don't like the style's design that much, it is a massive improvement. I love the dynamic pose that feels like it invokes the original pre-conversion Lutari art a bit. More importantly, there are once again a bunch of design changes that improve what's there: the pupils are now reptilian and yellow instead of just having a sliver of yellow around them, the fangs are larger, the claws are now noticeably sharper, the wings are bigger, the claws on said wings are bigger, and it actually looks fluffy now. Great stuff.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
BONUS: The Dargian Nimmo technically isn't as much of a glow-up, as the original design wasn't terrible and the styled artwork suffers from slightly inconstant light and some too-light shading. However, I still like this one a lot, mostly because it goes back to what I said earlier about the anatomy—while not a giant change, the style has given it digitigrade feet, and it's a bit lankier and bonier than a normal Nimmo is. It also makes some design improvements as well, like making the wings bigger and head horns much bigger.
Tumblr media
(Also, the prismatic options are appreciated here, as I never thought the original had a good palette. The cobalt version looks particularly good.)

greetings all! i'm here to share a post for someone who is looking for assistance to reanimate the first episode of lps popular. everything below are their words and not mine, i'm simply sharing it on their behalf, and they would prefer to remain anonymous for the time being. if you're interested in being apart of this project, i encourage you to fill out the google form below! thank you for reading :3c Hello Lps Popular community! I’m interested in creating and directing a project where I aim to animate up to at least the first episode of Lps Popular. If you’re interested in the project please fill out [this form] ! (https://forms.gle/oEFDE28Qipghtc9e7) I'm aiming to animate lps popular in the style of old youtube animations. This is not a MAP in the traditional sense where everyone takes a few seconds to animate on their own, but instead striving to be a coherent animated series using help from everyone in ways they can! Assets can and will be reused between people as much as possible and helpers will work on anything they feel like whether it be backgrounds, keyframes, inbetweens, coloring etc! This project is not looking for perfection or professional animation! amateur and quickly drawn anatomy, animation etc. are all OKAY! Reusing animation and assets is expected and nothing about this project should be stressful, we're here to have a good time in animating an old web series about plastic toys, early youtube vibes are encouraged :3 Knowledge and the use of adobe flash is highly recommended though people with all programs and skill levels are allowed and encouraged to join or help! Currently i'm looking for people with the ability to help with the following: Backgrounds, Storyboarding, Keyframing, Inbetweens, Coloring, Video editing, and Audio editing If you have any other skills you're willing to contribute to the project your feedback is important too! Day 2 Revenge Kirby Fighters 3 and Knuckles: Old Man Yaoi Edition
⚠️ LONG (but good-faith) RANT (that gives a little extra context for today's drawing) UNDER THE CUT (don't worry it's not shipping discourse lmao) ⚠️
Okay so I know neither of these modes are canon and therefore it's SORT OF a moot point, but NARRATIVELY SPEAKING, Meta Knightmare Returns and Dededetour are completely and utterly backwards, right???
What beef does King Dedede have with Dark Meta Knight? What beef does Meta Knight have with Sectonia and Dark Matter Swordsman (besides the fact that they both breathe and hold pointy weapons)? I understand that there's this ongoing plotline with having MK face swordfighters to test his skill, but I still think King Dedede should have been the one to rematch both DMS and Sectonia in Robobot (I do know Sectonia DX in TDX exists, but she isn't the final boss of the Dededetour mode which kinda sucks).
Shadow Dedede himself is a decent idea, but he's new to the series and has absolutely no story introduction (and his design isn't all that interesting, at least to me). Sectonia? Love her, but she deserves a Dedede hammer to the face for all three phases and more. DMS (and Dark Matter in general)? The ORIGINAL Dedede opp (besides Kirby lol). I know these are just clones in-story, but the coolness factor is still there.
You can make the argument that MK got to fight Mecha Knight because of MKR--which is cool, definitely, but if it were King Dedede the same could be said for the Dedede Clone fight, so in my eyes it evens out (actually... Dedede beating Stock Mecha would probably have been even more hype. imho).
Also, a Galacta Knight battle with solo King Dedede would be rad. The power scalers would have a FIELD DAY!!!
Likewise, Meta Knight never actually got to beat DMK in a proper battle at any point, did he? So based on both canon and alt timelines, DMK could still whoop MK's ass. That's just wrong... :(
It's my understanding that TDX was made with absolutely no anticipation of Robobot, so it could be the case that they simply didn't want to give Dedede the spotlight twice. But I sort of wish they had held back on MKR regardless.
Really, I don't think you NEED the anticipation of Robobot's specific plot/mechanics to see that MKR would have fit perfectly in TDX, because it answers the question of "where the hell is MK and why did he sit back when Dedede got kidnapped"? Having him fight DMK would be a way cooler explanation than an implicit "he was doing something somewhere else."
Maybe he's been fighting on the sidelines and is now clearing out the castle--which is full of Sectonia's remaining minions, the strongest and most loyal--and getting to the bottom of some source of magic still coming from the castle. Meanwhile Dedede and Kirby are helping out the people of mainland Popstar that were displaced by Sectonia and the Dreamstalk. And DMK (or, even better--a form of Dark Mind!) serves as the final boss.
Likewise, while the main events of Robobot are going on, the King could be helping Floralia defend themselves from the invasion. (The existence of Sectonia Clone combined with the pause screen that claims "Floralia is too remote to be mechanized yet" is literally just a plot hole anyway. The invaders couldn't overtake Floralia by the time we're fighting Sectonia Clone... despite the fact that they obviously DID find the huge plant that leads DIRECTLY to their kingdom AND the invaders have a mother(computer)ship the size of Planet Popstar AND practically infinite robot soldiers...? Be so fr...)
Extra work/game industry deadlines are a consideration too, but I don't think that applies too heavily here because both modes could have heavily reused and repurposed assets and level designs.
MK could have just had the typical EX mode recolors and stuff, but maybe with the story explanation/design concept that the bosses are being controlled by the Dark Mirror this time, instead of being aggravated by Taranza.
Dededetour in Robobot could have subsequently reused TDX assets. I feel like this is even a case where reskins are the objectively cooler option, as opposed to entirely new assets: seeing the flowery, green areas of Floralia converted to gross, grey landscapes would have been AWESOME, as well as seeing the insects and flower-based enemies turned to robots. Maybe the People of the Sky have been mind controlled: the six main flower fairies work together as a miniboss, and defeating them/breaking their mind control apparatuses is how they are "rescued" here, in parallel to their game of origin. Maybe Taranza is also being mind-controlled in an act of universal karma and Dedede has to bail him out. That would be sick!
This stuff isn't a series-ruiner by any means, but it genuinely feels like a glitch in the Kirby matrix that the plotlines here are so mismatched. If I were whimsically rewriting the Kirby series, the MKR and Dededetour swap would probably be the first change I'd make. (And, again, I'd like to acknowledge that there are/were probably practical considerations of which I'm ignorant.)
You know how the series could still fix everything, though...? Kirby Fighters 3, BUT this time King Dedede and Meta Knight are the main protags. They get to fight magically-summoned/echo versions of DMK, DMS, Sectonia, King D-Mind, Yin-Yarn... you name it. TOGETHER. As husbands should!!!

Few things drive me insane like the claim that "3D Zelda was getting stagnant anyway, so even with its flaws, Botw was a necessary change for the series"
What stagnancy?? Was 3D Zelda stagnant when they gave Link four separate, unique social standings in his hometowns across each new version? Or when they flooded Hyrule in one game and had it be an undiscovered land in another? Was it when they turned Link into a wolf for half the game, or had him fly around on a bird, or sail the seas, or transform between three different species by swapping out different masks?
Did 3D Zelda effectively showcase stagnancy when it gave every single entry a completely unique, visually striking art style and atmosphere? To the point where even Majora's Mask, famous reuser of assets, is impossible to mistake for its predecessor?
Everything I've heard to justify this mindset that Zelda somehow "needed" such a drastic change falls completely flat in the face of just how much the series was thriving before Botw came out. Every single major 3D release was just nonstop back-to-back bangers, and yet somehow people are acting like they were just OoT copy/pasted several times.
And they always end up reaching for the most, just... inane things to use as evidence for this supposed lack of originality.
"They were reusing too many of the same items!" Yeah because the items were cool and people liked using them. Also they were very much adding new items to the familiar pool each time, so I fail to see the issue here
"The story is always the same! You start somewhere with lots of trees, then you go to the same old locations with water and lava, blah blah blah you're the chosen one and have to go save Zelda and fight Ganon" Hey you know what other game you're describing the plot of. Breath of the Wild
(But honestly it was hard for any of that to feel stale for me when the execution of each of those steps was different each time. y'know. the thing that actually matters in storytelling)
"The intros in Zelda games used to be sooo long, but now I can even run straight to Ganon if I want!" So what you're admitting here is that not experiencing the story is a positive thing for you. In a game series that heavily prioritized its narrative up until now. I mean, based on that statement alone, being able to skip the majority of the game is supposed to be a positive? In a game THIS gigantic?
Also, let's not act like Botw's intro is better just because it can be completed quickly. It doesn't even hold up narratively compared to the others. There's intrigue, yes, but in terms of your immediate activities? Nothing particularly bombastic to write home about.
Ever notice how every other 3D Zelda before Botw has an inciting incident whose consequences are immediately followed up on? But sure, go on, tell me more about how boring they were because they dared to develop things before tossing you to the monsters.
And no matter how you might try to spin it, switching to an open world is not inherently a "natural progression" for the series. It's just something completely different from what it was doing before. That's like saying Battle Network was a natural progression of the original Megaman formula - neither one is bad, but nobody was playing Megaman and thinking "man, if only this was a pseudo turn-based game with a deck building mechanic and my movement was restricted to a grid"
Anyway, join me next time for when I talk about how Botw Link is far and away the worst-written Link despite my personal enjoyment of him, and how sick I am of people acting like this is when he finally "got a personality"

More Connol Sightings
I went back to watch scenes with background crowds and found that the Connol model seems to be only used in the Last Drop (under Vander) and the Bridge scenes (excluding S2 AU).
So we'll start at the beginning.
Opening Scene
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lowkey he got that cake Anyway. It's interesting that for a guy never officially introduced in the show, he has 3 different outfits: miner uniform (Remember Me), default outfit (Remember Me & BG appearances in TLD), and this - the Day of Ash outfit.
Instead of the turtleneck, he's wearing some sort of vest over a tank top. His right arm warmer is replaced by a black arm ribbon wrap thing like young Silco and an arm brace on the left wrist like Felicia and these accessories are not present in his default outfit.
We should also take into account that this guy may also be a different background character entirely who just happens to reuse Connol's assets (the hat, the utility belt and pouch). There is a minor difference with dead Connol (wearing arm warmer but no arm ribbon wrap) and running Connol (wearing arm ribbon wrap but no arm warmer).
But I'd like to think that's still him. It's much sadder to think that Connol was right beside Silco when he threw the molotov. Heck maybe that's why he died first. Remember this?
Tumblr media
Maybe after the molotov was thrown, Connol saw an enforcer coming. Maybe his first priority was to keep the leaders of Zaun safe. Silco was right beside him, maybe he pushed him out of the way and he got shot instead. Felicia sees this, ran to him and pleaded not to shoot but was shot too and that's why their corpses ended up on top of each other.
Gangsters Threatening Huck Scene
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
MAMA TURN AROUND. YOUR CHILDREN BEHIND YOU -
Tumblr media
This is the only shot with his lower half visible. I WAS RIGHT ABOUT THE MAROON OVERALLS??? His pants look maroon too, could only mean his pants is connected to the maroon cloth across his torso.
It looks like his left calf is exposed and he’s wearing a high boot on the right foot and a regular ass shoe on the left?? He also has a right knee pad and leg warmers.
How can I tell? I've mastered the art of interpreting pixels and I'm also not normal.
Sevika Confronts Vander scene
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The clearest shot we have of his 3D model. Connol actually follows Sevika out in this scene. You know Vander is so ass as a leader that even Connol leaves💀 (also lowkey his biceps are kinda👀)
Bridge Blockade
Tumblr media
This last one is from the part where Jayce ordered a blockade at the bridge. I’m actually not so sure if it’s him, it’s hard to see so I assumed based on the hat and turtleneck silhouette (it’s also funny to imagine he’s still going to protests post-death. Man’s haunting that bridge)
I should also note, old blonde Silco model is also by his side (ignore the cop in the middle)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
AND THIS IS WHAT I MEAN WHEN I SAY CONNOL & SILCO WERE FRIENDS BEFORE THEY MET VANDER AND FELICIA AND - (I say as I get dragged off to a padded cell)

Ideas for Trials going forwards
Been taking to @alien-atomz about the new update and the old datamined Coyle voicelines and we had some ideas for what they might do next
For main Trials, I think they might introduce one more location for Coyle (Gooseberry has three and now Franco has three, only makes sense if Coyle has three as well), not too sure where they'd put him like, maybe a rural farm or something, idk
And then I think they might start sharing Trial locations.
Coyle could fit very well into the Docks, Downtown AND obviously the Suburbs, and Franco could probably have an interesting trial in the Courtroom and the Factory. Gooseberry could slot well into the Courtroom and maybe the Suburbs too..? I'm not sure. But it wouldn't shock me if we either had MKs or proper Genesis Trials in places we've already been, but using different Prime Assets.
This is partially practicality - how many new locations can reasonably get? Where else are they gonna put Gooseberry? I can't think of anywhere they'd put her
And partially lore reasons - Amelia's escape is deemed partially Scarfioti's fault since she got through his new environment, one he was rushed into making over a few months once they had Franco. The fact that they haven't mentioned Downtown or The Suburbs being new means potentially, these ones have been here for a while and were reused for Franco. Which also means they could have been built for other Prime Assets, namely Coyle. I also don't think Sinyala is gonna have room for many more Trial environments, especially considering how sprawling a lot of them are.
So what does this mean?
The poster for the new Trial is Franco on top of a police car and explosions in the back. He's taken over trial environments seemingly planned for Coyle. The two HATE each other.
We think the girls are gonna start fighting
As for Gooseberry, she saw Amelia break the rules, and that may have gotten her thinking about her place in all of this. Maybe she's gonna try and commandeer more power herself whilst the other two scrap?
So yeah. TLDR; we think the Prime Assets are gonna start having to share locations (not there at the same time, obviously, but still), and this may start an actual fuckin war between Franco and Coyle, giving Gooseberry an in to change the rules or something for herself. Just a few thoughts!!

(Some spoilers for the first episode of the II S1 remaster!)
Okay I won't make a huge in-depth post like I usually do, but I thought I'd give some thoughts on the remaster! (Quick note - I.. haven't actually seen S1 of II! So this'll pretty much be from a "fresh" perspective as it were.)
I thought it was pretty good overall! Mephone's goofy host voice was.. kind of odd honestly? I'm glad it didn't stay for long, although they had to replace it SOMEHOW I suppose. Hearing some of the old lines either being reused or re-voiced by the new VAs was pretty fun, though! (ESPECIALLY Jazzy saying "uhm, well.. actually, I had a question about-" in Painty's voice lol 💙)
The new assets and animation style are adorable, too! They keep the charm of the original whilst making it smoother - I like it a lot! Plus the cute detail of the "Alternate Reality Show" parallel where Lightbulb is waving was REALLY fun. One thing I did note was that Justin isn't voicing Knife? Not sure if that was because the team wanted to keep his older, more gruff sounding voice, or if they didn't feel like voicing him for the remaster. Either way, the new VA is pretty cool!
I'm lowkey pretty excited to see where the rest of the season goes - might actually watch S1 to prepare! :3 💙

Random Nellie behind-the-scenes post!
I was looking through some old files, and found some really old versions of Nellie. She's been through quite a few iterations!
Tumblr media
This was the very very first Cirinel, before I'd even decided on her eye injury. I remember really liking the amber eyes. I wound up ditching them for yellow because, while all the elven eye colors have a half-blind version, the eye that's blind differs.
Amber had it on the right eye—and that's a problem, because the bandages cover the right on male characters, and the left on female.
Tumblr media
So away they went in favor of yellow!
Tumblr media
I did a lot to hide that she was half-blind. I wanted that to be a twist that people found out once they downloaded her, and that was back before I'd even touched the Creation Kit. So all her photos had her winking, or angled so you couldn't see her left eye.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This version of her had to go, though. I started looking into permissions for assets, and the mod I used to get that hair for her didn't give permission for people to reuse it.
So I switched it to KS Hair, fiddled around in the character creator for a bit, and made the second iteration of Nellie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is when I figured out I wanted her hair to be a bit more vivid, somewhere between red and brunette. Of course, I hadn't quite figured out color contrasts yet, so she looks a bit pale here. This is Awkward Teen Nellie.
I'd tried doing the same "sneakily avoiding showing the left eye" trick again, but I'd turned just a bit too far here:
Tumblr media
You can just barely make out her blind eye there.
A mutual of mine, @azures-grace, caught on, and the ruse was up. Not that that was a bad thing; at that point, I was vibrating, looking for any excuse to talk about my daughter and her secrets, so the instant I had the chance, I spilled.
A lot went on between this iteration of Nellie and the modern day version. I started learning the actual ins-and-outs of the Creation Kit. I made my very first mod, just to give her an accessory. I wrote so much dialogue. At one point, I had a draft where she had seventeen siblings.
And then, the worst happened. My computer broke.
I'd just been sitting, watching a video, when the whole thing shrieked at me and the screen went dark. It wouldn't turn on after that.
It wasn't salvageable. I took it into the shop, and they basically tossed their hands up and had no idea what to do. So much of my work on her was gone, and I had to start over from rock bottom. That was a pretty rough year for her development. Nothing kills motivation for something like losing a ton of work. I'd try to pick her up, give up for awhile, then go back and add more. It was very, very slow going. But eventually, I caught my rhythm again.
This time around, I knew a little more of what I was doing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Enter Beta Nellie. This is her from a few months ago. I'd gotten her new clothes, picked out her unique axe, and settled on her final colors. Her hair changed, too—instead of a crown braid, she now had a messy bunch with hanging strands in the front. I wanted to emphasize that she was trying to look dignified despite her situation, but a prisoner isn't going to escape Thalmor captivity with a perfect updo.
This version of her appearance took a lot of inspiration from Azure's fanart of Nellie here. Azure had taken Awkward Teen Nellie's colors and made them more vivid, and had emphasized the wispy little strands of hair that'd come loose from her crown braid. It really helped cement the kind of vibe I wanted for her.
Honestly, Beta Nellie probably would have been Final Nellie if things had gone to plan. I'd made her face in RaceMenu, saved it as a preset, and later decided to do a quick 3rd person playthrough to get used to seeing her on screen before I attached her model to the stuff I'd written.
I went to open my presets, though, and she was gone. Poof! No Nellie! (Plenty of attempts at making Link and Zelda, though. Curse my crossover rp heart...)
So it was back to the drawing board on her appearance. Except now, I had a reference to look at, and some things to fine-tune.
Tumblr media
I took away her red eyeshadow, because I couldn't get it to look nice. I gave her a scar. I picked out a texture that looked like wild freckles. She got a nose that better matched her high elf features, some softer and slightly less angled eyes, a longer face, and (although you can't see them in this pic) ever-so-slightly rounder ears. I messed with the Breton sliders to give her just a little bit of a "not fully Altmer" look.
Tumblr media
And with this shot specifically, I knew I had my daughter at last.
Since then, everything about her has been...well, not a breeze. Learning some quest things and how to make idles do what I wanted had me banging my head against the wall, and finding a way to change her outfit with a script had me making the code myself to solve a ten-year-old forum post. I'd messaged my friend @dynamite124 for debug help more times than I can count within a week.
But it had been achievable. For the first time since my computer broke, everything about her had been falling into place. And for the first time since her inception, I knew what I was doing.
The only roadblock left at that point was her voice. I'd decided a long time ago that I was going to try to voice her myself, but I gave it several honest tries, and I just didn't have the vocal range I imagined her speaking with. Being blunt, my voice is better suited to Aventus Aretino than to a High Rock noble. Once I came to terms with that, I put out a casting call for Nellie's voice.
Which brings me to an announcement.
Cirinel now officially has a voice actress!
We're 90% through recording dialogue for her introductory scene, and as soon as that's done, I'll be posting an official video showcasing her and introducing her VA!
I've been in such an Elder Scrolls mood since we got started that I went and shot a bunch of new reference pics with Nellie's final appearance. They're below here, and will be in a separate post immediately after this one goes live.
Enjoy!

ok so what the hell is the legal drinking age in earthbread man like. So I was thinking I would finally have to take the L on the "how fudging old is Alchemist Cookie" thing because Witch's Castle has that side story where she botches an experiment and it basically causes her to act like her brother. Including the alcoholism. (Tbh it is like my favorite special story in the game like part of that is 'cus of favorite character bias but also it ends really sweetly like WC is just really good for grape siblings fans in general they get a lot of content-). So I was like "okay then she has to be at least 19 if we assume the drinking age would line up with the real world/country the game is from. I can take an L I thought she was younger than that but I was wrong" BUT THEN FOR GINGERBRAVE'S BIRTHDAY WE GET THIS:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
WIZARD IS A CONFIRMED CHILD THO????
Basically this is like really ancient shxt but like there was something called I think the Junior Cookie Challenge once where basically 9 kid characters gave you missions and WIZARD WAS ONE OF THEM
Tumblr media
This is the picture I could find but like. Yeah Wizard's definitely a kid then. (I think this event happened before certain characters were even a thing including Alchemist when I checked the dates so like I have no idea if the characters were like limited for a reason or if this was all the kid characters in the game at the time but regardless I'm. Fubkign. Top 10 questions science can't answer Number 1: how fubkign old is Alchemist Cookie- like I'm guessing she just wasn't designed with a particular age in mind let's be real here-)
but like.
If Wizard can drink then like what is the legal drinking age on Earthbread man like-??????????
EDIT: I looked at the dates wrong/was thinking of when Alchemist existed in Ovenbreak I think and not in LINE (Alchemist was released like years before this event I think)... but then I ran into SOMETHING ELSE that throws a wrench in the works and by that I mean:
so DEVIL COOKIE ALSO existed before this event and yet was excluded but they're like. Really obviously a kid ESPECIALLY as of Witch's Castle (fudging. Three words: Crayon Doodle Set [literally their room decor includes a set of fudging crayola or some shxt like. I think it's obvious what impression we're supposed to get of them like obviously I don't think crayons should be locked off to only kids but like traditionally they're kinda thought of like a kids thing and Devil isn't like. Artistic-themed so to inexplicably have them... you can tell what's being communicated y'know?-) (and like I think Devil being the same age as Angel kinda. Is obvious-).
So the Junior challenge thing pretty much confirms nothing as to which characters AREN'T kids. Just which characters ARE kids. Frickin' almost had it and then lost it again-
Edit again: I also discovered that. Cream Puff existed during the time the Junior Cookie Challenge ran. And yet she wasn't in that. But now they're running kinda a sequel to that in Kakao Cookie Run and she's in THAT. So basically yeah it was never exhaustive 100% frickin' I'm going insane I'm having like two people debating with me (peacefully thankfully) over if Wizard's not actually drinking something alcoholic but like what is he drinking we don't know it could be anything but like he has a wine glass they could've given him a normal glass but they gave the kid a wine glass and we all have to suffer the consequences they didn't even put like a bowl of fruit punch on the table or anything just to say "haha he's just drinking this don't worry he's just a silly little guy :3" no they left the door wide open for us to at least ASSUME if it's not CONFIRMED by this that he's fudging destroying his nonexistent liver at the ripe old age of Child idk it's 2:22am as of me writing this
Too many edits: I need like a dedicated guide on what juice is and isn't meant to be alcohol in this universe because apparently the wizard art is like a reused asset from something about Hollyberry so like. But I know at least half the juice there is treated like alcoholic shxt too looking at some of the dialogue or like I'm mainly thinking of like wildberry's dialogue I think so. frickin'
another thing I realize is that. Alchemist drinking was because her personality got altered she wasn't like In Public. And... look I love Vampire but he isn't like the most responsible guy let's be real and like. Frickin' even can I just get like whether or not she has a diploma or anything please just anything like... ok I know that old as hell personality quiz calls her a "picky model student" so she's probably still in school but like where in school is she is she in high school of college or like. I would've placed her around cream puff's age before all of this but I don't know anymore y'know can someone help me?????- (she probably just wasn't designed with one in mind I'm doing all of this for nothing this is the definition of insanity frickin'-)
FINAL EDIT HOPEFULLY: ok I finally have an answer just like after talking to my bigger cr nerd friend uh. Basically the I Want You Every Day music video gives us definite footage of children drinking:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Screenshots courtesy of @void-the-bear (said friend)
Gingerbrave and Cream Puff are drinking the exact same drinks as the adults and these drinks literally look the same as what Sparkling holds in his goddamn sprites
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like you can see the bubbles in some shots it's the same drink it's frickin' champagne-but-we-can't-call-it-that-because-it's-a-kid's-game
But like there is an official short of Sparkling like. Not being able to serve Custard III I think because he's too young???? So uh.
basically the drinking age in Earthbread is "younger than Gingerbrave but older than Custard III" thank you for coming to my TED Talk (fudging. Finally have an answer though at least I think please tell me they didn't try to call this lemonade or something somewhere not the lemonade anything but the lemonade don't make me have a headache again PLEASE-)

Also while I'm horse girl posting oh my god the riding in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask is atrocious. Forget critiquing Link's riding posture, we have much, much bigger problems here.
First off in OOT Epona's saddle has no stirrups, but more importantly she's not wearing a bridle. Link holds his hand as if he's holding reigns but there are none. In Majora's Mask Link is riding bareback, but still holds his hands as if he's holding reigns, which, again, do not exist. I can give Majora's Mask a pass on this because I know it was made in a year, and I'm even willing to give OOT a pass because idk maybe it really would've been too difficult to model reigns and stirrups on an N64 game, but listen. I played the 3DS versions. Could they not have modeled some on the 3DS??? While they were remodeling a bunch anyway??? Come on.
Second, Epona does not look old enough to ride in Majora's Mask. Again, I'm willing to give a pass on this since the game was made in a year, I know they had to reuse as many assets as possible to put production time toward the things that actually mattered, but still. It made me very uncomfortable while playing the game. I don't know how old Epona is supposed to be here but I'm unconvinced she's even a yearling. That horse has NOT finished growing. Link you're going to fuck her up forever. Get off her back right now.
Third, and most importantly, oh my god why are you whipping this horse every time you spur her on. There is debate to be had about whips in riding that I'm not getting into because I'm super unqualified for it, but I think pretty much everyone can agree that whipping a horse behind the heel every time you spur her on is unquestionably animal abuse. My teachers would've strangled me if I'd tried that. Probably the horses would've bucked me off and trampled me. I can believe Ingo would ride like that and I can believe Link would copy him because he doesn't know better but Malon would beat him to death with a shovel about it. I get that they needed a visual indicator to show Link spurring her on but you could've picked literally anything else. I am not giving them a pass on this. It's uncomfortable and made me wince every time and I actively avoided using Epona's top speed because of it. Stop whipping that horse or I'll start whipping you.
