The Good The Bad and the Ugly Part 3
Introduction
Welcome to to the 3rd and final chapter in the epic blog that looks at the classic western the Good the Bad and ugly this final chapter looks at the best way to watch the trilogy the lost the Good the Bad and the ugly sequel and what links it to the Tolerance project

The Best Way to watch the Dollars Trilogy ?

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
For a Few Dollars More
A Fistful of Dollars
While Leone never intended his three Clint Eastwood Spaghetti Westerns to be a trilogy, there are events in the movies that establish a timeline. The unofficial order for Sergio Leone's Dollars Trilogy is The Good, The Bad and The Ugly at the forefront, acting as a prequel to For a Few Dollars More, and then finishing with A Fistful of Dollars. Remarkably, despite the director's intentions, or lack thereof, the three films do not contain any major continuity errors when viewed as a continuous series.
Given its expansive reliance and commentary on the American Civil War, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly is chronologically the earliest movie, despite being produced last. Leone implemented the infamous American conflict into his film in order to deliver some stark commentary against the brutality of war, primarily using Eastwood's character. In terms of events, Blondie slowly picks up the pieces of his iconic outfit throughout before finally donning the whole get-up in the end.
For a Few Dollars More takes place after The Good, the Bad and the Ugly not only because Colonel Douglas Mortimer (Lee Van Cleef), the vengeful bounty hunter, is a veteran of the Civil War, but also because a newspaper can be seen in the film containing the year 1872. The only factor that puts For a Few Dollars More before A Fistful of Dollars, however, is that Manco and Mortimer engage in a bravado shooting contest where the target is the Man with No Name's hat. The holes from that squabble can be seen in A Fistful of Dollars.
The Good the Bad and the ugly 2 the lost sequel
The Unmade The Good Bad and The Ugly 2
would have brought back Clint Eastwood in a surprising way. Clint Eastwood had spent years on a classic western series Rawhide
before landing what would turn out to be a star-making role in 1964's A Fistful of Dollars

This low-budget Italian western was a remake of Akira Kurosawa's Yojimbo and saw Eastwood's Man with no Name playing two gangs against each other. The movie's style and Eastwood's iconic turn saw the movie become a surprise success and it helped establish the spaghetti western subgenre
The popularity of westerns began to wane during the '60s and '70s, and later outings usually took a darker, more cynical view of the west. Clint Eastwood's westerns tended to be more violent, and the lines between heroes and villains were very blurred. Eastwood directed some of his most famous outings in the genre himself, including High Plains Drifter - which has a supernatural angle - Pale Rider and 1992's acclaimed Unforgiven

The Man with no Name is still Clint Eastwood's most famous western antihero, and following A Fistful Of Dollars, he reprised the character twice, for 1965's For A Few Dollars More and The Good, The Bad And The Ugly. This latter entry is actually a prequel to the events of the previous films and followed three characters hunting for buried gold against the backdrop of the American Civil War. The Good, The Bad And The Ugly is the most acclaimed of director Sergio Leone's Dollars trilogy and has been hailed as a masterpiece. The movie ends with Eastwood's "Blondie" riding off with half of the gold, and co-writer Luciano Vincenzoni later revealed he had plans to make The Good, The Bad And The Ugly 2, with Clint Eastwood returning as narrator.
For context, The Good, The Bad And The Ugly ends with Eastwood's Man with No Name having killed Lee Van Cleef's Angel Eyes and seeming to leave Eli Wallach's Tuco to hang. In the final moments, he shoots Tuco's noose to free him, with Tuco cursing out Eastwood's character as he rides away. Vincenzoni's The Good, The Bad And The Ugly 2 was to take place 20 years later, with Tuco tracking down the grandson of Blondie for the gold. Reportedly, Clint Eastwood - who has directed many movies - was interested in serving as narrator for a potential The Good, The Bad And The Ugly 2, though it's unknown if the Man with No Man would have actually appeared in the story.
Sadly, there's little solid information available on The Good, The Bad And The Ugly 2, including when it was being developed, though the late '80s seems likely. Vincenzoni confirmed Lee Van Cleef and Eli Wallach were interested in returning too, and it appears Joe Dante was being courted as director. It was Leone who killed The Good, The Bad And The Ugly 2, as he didn't want any more sequels to happen or his name linked to it. Vincenzoni put this down to a rift between the two men, but without Leone's consent, The Good, The Bad And The Ugly 2 quickly died. It's hard to know if the sequel could have worked without Clint Eastwood.
The Good The Bad and the Ugly The Tolerance Connection
So why are we talking about the Good the Bad and ugly in terms of the Tolerance project well we featured a spoof of the film music and all in the Tolerance film to highlight disabled badge abuse where Julies Boss parks in a disabled space and Julie day dreams what she would like to do to her boss by turning into Clint Eastwood’s Man with No Name and blowing her away .

It's been an entire presidential election cycle since my last set of The West Wing prints debuted. With the next election right around the corner and Mary Elizabeth McCormack & Melissa Fitzgerald's new West Wing book hitting bookshelves this month, now feels like the right time to dive back into the beloved show and debut another set of retro-style posters inspired by fan-favorite episodes of the series. For this wave of prints, I've put together designs based on five episodes from seasons 2 through 4. Three of the episodes are heavily campaign focused while the remaining two episodes are personal favorites focused in-part on threading the needle between governing policies and political realities. I hope all my fellow Wingnuts enjoy this round of offerings. Check out the new designs along with additional info below. All five prints are available now via the Studio JJ shop or by simply clicking the images below. You can also find all of my The West Wing-inspired prints (there are now 21 designs in all!) and select TWW t-shirts via the shop's The West Wing section.
Thanks!

With a little help from my friends Tolerance Project Extra Celebrates International Day of Persons with Disabilities
Introduction
Hello Today marks the annual International Day of Persons with Disabilities
International Day of Persons with Disabilities (December 3) is an international observance promoted by the United Nations since 1992. It has been observed with varying degrees of success around the planet. The observance of the Day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. It also seeks to increase awareness of gains to be derived from the integration of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life. Each year the day focuses on a different issue.

The theme for this year is "Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future." This theme recognizes the important role that persons with disabilities play in creating a more inclusive and sustainable world for all. It also emphasizes the importance of the participation of persons with disabilities in decision-making processes that affect their lives.
The theme this year reflects the current international political and policy context, in particular the Pact for the Future and the upcoming 2025 World Summit for Social Development, and the need to create momentum for achieving the 2030 Agenda. The theme seeks to amplify the centrality of the leadership role of persons with disabilities, in all of these efforts - from the global to the local.

Where does the Tolerance project fit into this ?
I made a little film Tolerance in 1999 with a little help from my friends they helped me produce the film members of the group also called Tolerance provided assistance both in front and behind the camera to make the film this blog celebrates and thanks the disabled members of the Tolerance film cast and crew
This year is special for the Tolerance project it marks 25 years since we made the film, as part of those celebrations I interviewed writer and director of the Tolerance film Richard Hellewell as part of this interview I asked him these 2 questions
1) How did he find working with a mixed crew of disabled and non disabled people ?
I loved working with a mixed crew and found it very rewarding. Having a cast and crew of disabled and non disabled people gave the project a feeling of authenticity that we were not just making a film to improve peoples lives but we were improving peoples lives at the same time
I mean this for all participants in the film. In fact I feel the non-disabled cast and crew got more out of the experience as I think they were more apprehensive at the beginning and became aware that people are just people and the labelling is just bullshit (sorry) as we are all abled and non abled in some way.
I found getting the crew together a little challenge as we needed to train some people on techniques and there were some non actors involved too but this is the challenges that make a production memorable. I have worked with non-abled people since and would encourage others to do so as they may learn something about themselves and be a better person for it.
2) what memories he will take away from a project he worked on 25 years ago ?
I have 2 teenagers one just past his driving test so yes it does feel like ages ago but I met David the lead character at a competition (our kids both do trampolining) so it actually feels like last week. I have loads of memories and stories from the project that I share with my students but the main one was the comradery of all the cast and crew. We had some difficult times but everyone would get together to pull through there was always someone that would gee us up to get through the filming days and it was never just one person everyone joined in for the cause and that’s my main memory but I also do have a few funny stories too.
What was the Tolerance Group?
If I have got my sums right 'Tolerance' came into my life round about time I was still at Shelley High School in about 1995 It was created out of one of the summer school play schemes that Kirklees used to run. We had such a good time one year that this particular group wanted to see more of each other to socialise and do other projects.
With the help of one of the play Scheme organisers called Craig Wood he suggested we get together as a youth group.
We began as a small group of people, calling ourselves the Deighton Group. As the local PHAB group was shutting down, the group got a lot bigger and we changed our name to 'Tolerance'.
It was Craig I think who came up with the name we began appearing in local media and were becoming more well known, a local development officer who was called Jeremy Walker organised us into a fully-functioning group.
I was asked to be co-ordinator, a job which I did for 7 years. Gemma Blagbrough was my second-in-command and transport secretary. With the help of the local development officer, we applied for funding for a variety of projects. As co-ordinator for the group I found myself doing a lot of the admin work, filling out funding forms, writing newsletters, doing radio and newspaper interviews, and going to various meetings to ask for money to get projects started.
Tolerance The Movie
The idea behind the film was one of Jeremy Walkers many ideas and it was a good one the aim of the film was simple We wanted to make a film that reflected the life of young disabled people in the 21st century. It was important to us as a group that it was funny, and that it would capture the humour within the group. At the same time, we wanted it to deliver a serious message about what it was like to live with a disability day-to-day.
Jeremy can be seen in a cameo in the finished film as Julie’s Taxi driver Julie was played by actress Claire Abbot
The film has five main themes: Employment, Social Life, Transport, Accessibility, and Relationships. We chose these themes because they were important areas of all the lives of the group members.
Also If we were going to make the film we wanted to be involved with it as much as possible provide as much of the cast and crew in the finished film as we could. In the end other members of the Tolerance who were not in front of the camera worked in the sound and make up departments

After a couple of false starts we approached a company called Eclipse Productions run by Richard Hellawell.
The script was written by Richard Hellawell with input from Tolerance members; myself and Jeremy Walker were the film’s producers. In keeping with the humour we wanted the film to portray, we included film spoofs of Officer and a Gentleman, Star Wars, and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

One major difference of opinion was who was going to act in our film. Richard wanted people he had worked with previously, where as myself and some of the group members had envisioned that we would use disabled actors. Was our film going to be stopped in its tracks before it had even started?
In the end we managed to reach a compromise and two of our disabled members appeared in the finished film: Gemma Blagbrough as the cinema manager; and Michael Weaver as a blind person using Huddersfield Train Station.
From Rob Martin’s photos, the train sequences where shot on 17 August 1999. I remember the day as being very stressful and bursting into tears!
Michael for me gives a very natural performance, and he and Claire Abbot work well together.
On the photo front we have 35 photos of this day’s filming – most of them in black and white. As it was Michael Weaver’s day, when he was playing a starring role, he appears in quite a few of the photos having a laugh with our leading lady, Claire Abbot. There are also some photos, when he was being made up by our make-up lady, Andrea Dowdall Goddard.

Since working on Tolerance, Andrea has worked on episodes of the Doctor Who spin-off, Torchwood, Coronation Street and the film, Guest House Paradiso. Andrea’s credits are on IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1350227/?ref_=nv_sr_1

Talking about Gemma she was the second member of Tolerance to appear in the film, Gemma Blagbrough, appears as the cinema manager. I had the day off that day but the rest of the cast and crew had to get up at 5.30am to shoot the cinema scenes. Gemma said about her Tolerance experience afterwards:
‘Yes I really enjoyed the whole experience of working on Tolerance. The only thing I didn’t like were the early mornings; the earliest being half past five in the morning when I had to film my scenes. It was long hours, but I wanted to show people with a disability that you can work and you can work in positions of authority.’
