It’s day 2 of Hazbin Ships Week!

The prompt: A Tender or Spicy Moment. I chose to do a bit of both! This is a scene from The Riddle of Magic by @rubyfoxfyre! I love how she depicts these two in her fic, so if you haven’t read it yet, check it out!

Today’s sketch is also unfinished. I was waffling between two images for this prompt, and decided to go back to the drawing board (haha) super late last night. I may revisit it later, but I also have two super sickly sweet sketches inspired by The Riddle of Magic that I may work on instead!

(previous anon - hi!) aaand you certainly never disappoint (not that you legit could've, but). yep, that's the exact ship i had in mind😈. for someone who's normally so touch-averse, he himself is certainly very touchy with Charlie, isn't he👀 (yeah yeah control, but there's a bit more to it than that).

i think the main appeal of this ship is its complexity and almost unlimited potential? they're extremely powerful, charming characters with similar interests (dancing, singing, dumb, dorky puns) who act as foils but who also genuinely enjoy each other's company and have fun together -hidden agendas aside. you want some power couple goodness? done! cutesy, wholesome, endearing fluff? ta-da! dark, angsty, sexy mind games? comin right up! on that note - the fandom (esp on twitter) is so crazy talented and productive -despite the gross hate it gets- that you have so many different options when it comes to Alastor's sexuality and the type of space it would hold if he were romantically involved with Charlie. i'm on that same spectrum too, and knowing (from my experience, combined with what i've read from other ace ppl) that those who are asexual/aro can also experience sexual and romantic attraction (just way less often), made it ok for me. i can only speak for myself, ofc, but yeah. and so there are so many fics etc that respectfully explore what effect those new sorts of feelings and intimacy would have on Alastor's self-image and dynamic with Charlie. You can find super well written interpretations of him as either sex-repulsed or sex-positive (there's a reason 'Deer Virgin' and 'Charliesexual' are some of the most popular tags around here, lol) all that to say if you do ever find yourself curious or peckish, i gotchu! couldn't recommend 'penance' by kinkydents enough (something tells me it'd definitely be your speed👌). on the lighter end of the spectrum, 'under my skin' by whamgram is also exceptionally good food (and so funny!). then there's 'the riddle of magic' by rubyfoxfire - an epic in itself, and one that generally sticks to the 'romantic friendship' sort of angle. just a few options on your table😻. thank you for indulging me with this ask and take care!✌️

For me personally,

I don't ship them in the show proper. I more so ship them in the pilot and just kinda go from there with headcanons and snippets from the Amazon show, if that makes sense lolol

I think what's really appealing about the ship is just how wildly different yet (possibly) compatible they are.

Alastor is a cruel man and doesn't care to change. He's probably the most inappropriate partner Charlie could ever choose. But (this is more so a Headcanon) she's the one exception to his "rule", the one person he actually cares about and would put her needs above his own. He doesn't actually really change, and she doesn't try to change him! She accepts him for who he is. And he accepts her. He doesn't believe in redemption, but he believes in her and supports her.

And honestly, there are just so many possibilities that are set up that the show gives us!

I LOVE scenarios where alastor genuinely want's to screw over Charlie when they first meet, but over time he falls in love with her and his whole world just shifts

(I really really recommend "The Riddle of Magic" by rubyfoxfire on Ao3 if you're interested. It's an ongoing long-fic (65+ chapters ATM) written before the show came out. It is charlie x Alastor focused and takes place a little bit after he first arrives at the hotel and the way she has them slowly grow to care about each other 😩 ❤️ It is phenomenal. )

And I think It presents us with a really funny Alastor and Lucifer dynamic. Where they both really love and care about Charlie but they absolutely hate each other, so they have to be nice to each other but they still probably snark on one other or give backhanded compliments or something lol

(I genuinely think that in Canon if Alastor wasn't ace and Charlie didn't have Vaggie, Alastor would have tried to imply that he was Charlie's boyfriend just to piss off Lucifer lmao)

I also think they are just visually a very pleasing couple, and look cute together :3

Hello charlastor shippers! (atleast i hope this reaches them)

The ship charlastor has always rubbed me off wrong but i really want to be interested in it because it does look fun.

I see Alastor and Charlie mostly as family (dad&daughter or sister&brother) but i want to hear different point of views.

I am ship positive (not towards pro ships) and a huge multishipper but i need help from radiobelle shippers to see the appeal. I truly want to understand the ship and see it. So can charlastor shippers explain why they like the ship? What is the appeal, what makes it interesting?

Between packing to move, prepping for a convention, and (maybe) having Covid, it’s been a month, y’all!! But I finally finished this, and wanted to share it with you. I haven’t gotten the chance to clean it up digitally, but I’ll repost it when I do!

This is how I imagine Pidgin from The Riddle of Magic by @rubyfoxfyre. It’s just so PRECIOUS— I’d lay down my life (and all my limes 🍋‍🟩) for Alastor’s tiniest spectral servant!

Riddle Of Magic thoughts

⚠️ Spoilers ⚠️

So, this is just something I've been thinking about for awhile. Now that I've finished Chapter 15, no spoilers please, I wanna talk about it.

The way Charlie writes the magic is very telling and thought out well. It tells where they are in the story in a great way you don't notice right away.

Invocation drawn as Lock-

Both Alastor and Charlie are locking off their romantic inclinations for each other, not wanting to accept it themselves. The two do stay there for awhile, bringing me to my next point.

Ward drawn as Barrier-

Because Charlie doesn't draw it like that until her fifth attempt, the fact it's like that represents mostly Alastor's turn. The barrier in his mind blocking off his feelings for her is broken. He knows how he feels now. And Charlie to a lesser extent.

Transfer as Give-

Alastor has already said he'd give himself to her, his soul was hers. But the same can be said for Charlie. She almost kissed him in Chapter 15. She's starting to give in to her feelings.

That's all I got for now, but I can't wait to read more. I'll add on as I go on. If anyone else wants to add stuff, please put what chapter at the top and so it through reblog so I can avoid spoilers.
