Things Kaz canonically does in the two years between Crooked Kingdom and Rule of Wolves:

(presumably) massively expands the Dregs' territory

buys Pekka's old club (the Emerald Palace) and completely renovates it, turning it into The Silver Six

massively expands the Crow Club to the point where it's "three times the size of every other establishment on the block"

builds an underground tunnel that goes from the Crow Club to the Geldstraat, where the Van Eck Mansion is

takes Jesper out on jobs with him often enough that Wylan has jokingly banned Jesper from answering the door when he knocks

learns about Ketterdam's Suli laborers and picks up additional knowledge of Suli culture

keeps up with Inej's whereabouts and helps her take out slavers

expands his information network to the Kerch colonies

is on friendly enough terms with the King of Ravka that he taught Nikolai how to pick locks and Nikolai feels comfortable personally writing him a letter when he needs to steal the titanium from Kerch

disguises himself just to follow people around on the streets

was planning to steal the titanium from the military base anyway just for fun

And that's just the stuff we see from Nikolai's and Zoya's incredibly limited perspectives during their Ketterdam sidequest

I 100% agree with Zoya when she thinks that "maybe Kaz was like Nikolai, a boy with an unquiet mind, a man in perpetual need of challenge" because ROW makes it so obvious that Kaz is bored and incredibly restless in his success. Someone get our boy a new life's purpose and a subscription to a long-running unsolved mystery podcast stat

The moment when Wylan says he will join Kaz's new job (saving Inej) "for the Wraith" at the end of Six of crows really reminds me of that other scene in Rule of wolves when he refuses to do anything illegal until Kaz tells him it's for Inej. And that little parallel is just so cute.

i like to think about how in rule of wolves kaz finds out nikolai can turn into a demon and inej likely finds out about zoya turning into a dragon from nina so kanej’s next meeting is just both of them trying to one up the other with the royal gossip they found out

Leigh Bardugo said today at an event that all the diverse characters she portrays come naturally at her because the world is diverse. She's not looking for a black character, a disabled one nor a queer one, they are just part of the world so they are part of the worlds she creates. She also said that what is not normal is having a story full of white hetero and abled people, reality is diverse and so are her stories.

When she was explaining this she had to stop a few times because the auditorium kept cheering at her. Hope she felt all the love the audience was trying to show.

Wylan in Crooked Kingdom: Until this moment, Wylan hadn't quite understood how much they meant to him. kaz naming his new gambling parlor the silver six defies all who say he didn't care enough for his partners in crime. he's worked with so many people over the years, but his crows are the crew that stuck with him. if it was the ice court heist that he prized more, then he would have named his new establishment something that sneakily referred to the ice court or something that had happened on the heist. but its not the mission that kaz chooses to associate, nor is it the dreadful place, but the people he scoured that dreadful place with. the people that stuck by him throughout and even after that, rising to riches.
