I am so glad the new kdramas are bringing back the specific brand of loser men. You know which brand I'm talking about. The Ahn "min min" Minhyuk brand of loser men and I'm loving it. The "I worship this goddess and I'm so in love with her and I can't believe I get to love her. Oh my gods I love her so much" brand of loser men. And we're being fed so well with lovely runner, love next door, no gain no love, my demon, Cinderella at 2am, Hierarchy, Midnight Romance in Hagwon, doctor slump, Queen of tears, welcome to samdal-ri and even good partner (yes it's one sided but the dedication and yuri's couple too).
We need more fictional loser men who worship women to satiate our eldest independent daughter desires.

Hierarchy

TV Shows/Dramas watched in 2024
Hierarchy (2024, South Korea)
Director: Bae Hyeon Jin
Writer: Chu Hye Mi
Mini-review:
Oof, what a disappointment. I feel like this wanted to be one of those transgressive teen shows we get in the West, but then it didn't have the guts to go all the way and ended up being like any other kdrama about the rich and the poor. And even then, it's just not good at that either. The writing leaves a lot to be desired, and it gets more boring with every episode. The acting is also all over the place; some of the actors do a solid job, but most of them are mediocre or downright terrible. Tbh, there are two things that save this drama from disaster: firstly, the director adds a lot of style and flair to the proceedings; secondly, sometimes it's fun to see a bunch of super pretty people all together in one place. But still, there are a lot of shows where you can find those things with much better quality. I wouldn't recommend Hierarchy, unless you really love someone in the cast...

The Arrangement
Baek Harin x Reader Fic.
Sypnosis: Because of your father's social status, you were forced to marry the one and only Baek Harin. What happens if Harin caught you meeting up in secret with her archenemy?
Warnings: SMUT, mature scenes, stalking, choking. If you're a minor, stay away!

Your father laughed at Harin’s offer while you scoffed at her antics. What a ridiculous offer you thought to yourself.
“I’ll give you my blessing to marry my only daughter, heiress of all my running business” You stared at your father with a look of disbelief on your eyes.
“What?!” was all the word that you could say that time as you process this crazy mess you’re ending up with.
Baek Harin, the princess of your class. You didn’t like her because of the game she created during your first year. Although you are in grade A, you still didn’t like the fact that your other classmates were being bullied because of their status in the class. But what can you do? You didn’t have the guts to protest that her game is crazy. Especially since your father is good friends and in partnership with her family.
“I was looking for you, why aren’t you eating?” Doah snapped you out of your thoughts. Doah is your bestfriend out of the fake friend group you have with Harin and Dayeon. You’re only in a friend group with them because of your dad being close friends with their parents also. You didn’t want to disappoint your dad; who’s always out of town or in abroad attending some business meeting.
“I’m just finishing reading this.” You answered in a quiet manner even though she knows that you’re just avoiding the bullying commotion during lunch.
“You know, you won’t ever beat me in a quiz bee so stop studying and eat with me.” Doah tried to joke, which made you laugh because her being a nonchalant and posed person sucked at delivering jokes.
“Nice hearing you making a joke, Doah. But I don’t have an appetite to eat.” You replied.
“I brought you an onigiri; I made it. Please eat it, you haven’t eaten today.” Doah gave you the onigiri and a chocolate drink before leaving the library room.
You were seated in silence as you opened the wrapped onigiri. You looked at your watch. 40 more minutes. You really hate that your classmates are getting bullied, and you just watch or sit in silence while they are suffering. You hated being a bystander.
“Y/N.” a voice came out of nowhere that shocked you. As you look towards the door, you see Harin standing wearing her designer cardigan or whatever, but she looks pretty– no– wait. Why are you thinking this way, even though she looks good her attitude is something else.
“What?” Honestly, you had a crush on her when you first met her through your dad attending some party of his friends. She was there, she was the one who offered you to transfer school so that you two can get closer but things have changed. You despise her for this hierarchy game.
“Come to my penthouse tonight. I’m hosting a dinner party tonight since Mr. Seo wanted us to gather..” Harin said in her usual monotone voice.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever.” You rolled your eyes and just continued reading.
It was a mistake coming here.
Your father is such a social climber. You didn’t even want to partake in any of their conversation because as usual, Baek Harin is the star of night. They are always asking her how’s our friendship or whatever.
“If only I had a son, I would definitely ask him to marry you, but sadly all of us only have daughters.” Your father said with a disappointment evident in his voice. You’re aware that your father didn’t like you at all, that's why he’s always leaving you on your own. It’s because of you being open about not wanting to inherit all of the business he has all over the world.
“Y/N is pretty and kind. I like her and I think there’s nothing wrong with me marrying a girl, right dad?” Harin said, looking directly at her dad as if she’s staring right through his soul, which her dad only nodded to and you noticed his discomfort.
“Y/N and I are already close. Plus, this will benefit our company if I marry Y/N.” Harin said with a glint of mischief in her voice. You just scoffed, disliking the topic. You can’t do much anyway, you’re the only child of your father.
“That’s a good arrangement then. We’ll further discuss this when both of you finish high school.” Your father said happily and while you can’t even comprehend what’s happening. You can’t oppose your father's wishes because he might disown you; Harin knows that, and she’s pushing you to your limits.
It has been a week since that dinner happened. You haven’t talked to your father since, and you’ve been avoiding all three of your so-called friends. During that week, there was a transfer student in your class who also has been bothering you to help her since she’s in grade F. She must have sensed your guilt about all this crappy game.
Lately, you have been meeting her too. Outside of the school and during night time. You learned from Suji that she wants to take down the game and you liked that, but the thought of Harin learning that you’re backstabbing her, especially now that you’re “engaged” with her might cost you your father’s trust and his business.
Little did you know all of those secret meetings, someone has been eyeing you.
You had just finished talking to Suji about her plan on taking down the game. You were now walking towards your house, listening to music. You're living on your own because your father was out of town again. Since you’re hidden from the media that you are a famous business man’s daughter, your house doesn’t have a security guard at all.
“Y/N” someone called you from afar as you were unlocking the door of your house.
Your heart dropped when you saw Harin walking towards you. What is she doing here? Does she know what you have been doing behind her back? Is she stalking you? So many questions flooded your mind and all you could do was stare at her.
“What have you been doing these past few nights, my fiancee?” She asked, still walking towards you and taking a puff from her cigar.
You tried to gain your composure and crossed your arms, “Are you stalking me?” you asked bravely.
“Do you think I’m playing some dumb games with you, Y/N?” she laughed maniacally and she is now in front of you.
“Whatever you're saying, Harin. Go home and leave me alone.” You said before trying to get into your house but suddenly you got yanked out by Harin.
“Have you been cheating on me? With that school trash?” Her gripped on you tighten. Here’s the problem, Harin never treated you this way. Even if she’s getting Dayeon get beat up on purpose by her dad or Doah getting eliminated from her competitions because they are getting on her nerves. Harin has always tolerated your angsty behaviour towards her, but tonight she’s different.
She got you pinned against the wall, “Harin– No! It’s not what it looks like.” you said as you struggled against her hold.
You felt Harin blow a breath on your neck, which tickled you but aroused you the most.
“Y/N, do you think I’m some dumb mouse you can use for your father’s gain?” She whispered through your ears.
“H-harin, I’m sorry. Please let me go, I swear I’m g-going to stop meeting with Suji.” You said as you were trembling.
“Will your father be happy once he learned what you were doing behind my back, my dear fiancee?” God, you are now regretting everything you’ve done. You should have stayed quiet, maybe, just maybe, your father’s hard work isn’t on the line.
“No– I swear, Harin! I’ll do everything, please!” You pleaded.
“Everything?” Harin was now eyeing you up and down, but you didn’t notice as your eyes were shut because of fear.
“Yes! Please, H-harin, forgive me.” That was all it took for Harin to kiss you. You can’t process what’s happening and all you could do was to moan, a loud one, when she kneed your core.
All of the pleasure you were feeling from riding her thigh were soon to be gone when she let go of you. You were out of breath, head feeling dizzy from what’s happening. You hated her guts and yet you’re here yearning for her touch? What has gone into your mind, you wondered.
“Your room. Now.” A demanding tone was all you heard that made you run into your room.
Anticipation and the ache at your core were all you felt while she was undressing you on your bed. You can’t contain your whimpers anymore every time she kissed a part of your skin, you were very sensitive.
“H-harin, I haven’t done this before…” You confessed with a sheepish smile as if she could see you in your room having the moonlight as your source of light.
“Even better.” was all she said before diving right to your buzzing core. Soft whimpers were coming right out of you, you’re trying to suppress your moans because of not being sure whether your maids are sleeping in or not.
She was marking you all over your neck, she might have felt the sense of owning you when you’re all marked up. She was thinking when you’re coming to class and Suji sees you with all of the hickeys she has given you, her jealousy is long gone now. She is your first and she wanted it to be your last.
Suddenly, without a warning Harin inserts a knuckle deep inside you. You gasp in pain, it definitely is your first time, and it doesn’t help that she has long fingers. All of this sensation is new to you because, hell, you didn’t even touch yourself before. You just ignored the feeling of arousal whenever you felt it.
“Feeling good?” You heard her say, but you only wince as she added another digit into your pussy. You can’t contain your moans anymore, which you tried to block by putting your left hand over your mouth.
She noticed it, she removed your hand and pinned both of your hands swiftly, “Let me hear it, baby.” was all you heard before moaning her name loud. The pain subsided and all you feel is pleasure.
“You’re so tight, love.” Harin is now staring at your fucked up face.
“A-hh! Mommy! R–ooh, right there!” You didn’t even notice that you let that word out of your mouth, either way, Harin liked it.
She held your waist tightly as she added another finger on your pussy. She is now getting rougher with you, with lust and jealousy she felt when she saw you secretly meeting up with that Suji girl.
“Were you asking Suji to fuck you like this? Do you think she can fuck you like this?” God, you didn’t even see Suji that way, you were just busy taking revenge on your so-called fiancee. You were so busy losing your mind with pleasure that you forgot to answer her question, and instead, she squeezed your throat and with that you were gasping for air.
“Answer me, Y/N-ah,” She was now fingering you faster and you felt like you’re going to pee or something.
“No! I only want you, m-mommy!” Satisfied with your answer, she rubbed your pussy as she felt you clenching on her fingers. She knew, you’re near from finishing.
“A–ah! Stop, please! I feel like I’m going to pee! Oooh!” But she didn’t stop and whispered, “That’s okay, love. Just let it go.”
Harin hits a spot that makes you climax. You held onto her clothes tight as you were cumming on her fingers. You can’t control the sounds you’re making anymore and you just sound incoherent. Harin hushes you and kisses you as she removes her fingers after your body relaxes.
Harin opened the night lamp beside your bed. You were almost knocked out. Your face being puffy and red, your messy hair, and hickeys all around your neck, Harin felt like she owns you now.
“I love you, Y/N. You’re mine and mine only.”
Hope you guys liked it!! First time writing a smut, lol. Please request! I'd like to practice my writing for school. I'll also do other characters from pyramid game!

baek harin x reader
WARNINGS ; TRIGGER WARNING! heavy manipulation, love bombing, possessiveness, gaslighting, physical and emotional abuse, spoilers up to episode 8 of pyramid game

your thoughts ran wild.
harin probably already knew. somehow, she always figured out what you were thinking, as if you were an open book. she could tell your worries and your fears by glancing at you.
you did well. you knew that she would be proud of you, but still...
you shook your head. now wasn't the time to be nervous.
smoke wafted around the baekyeon heiress as you approached her, her eyes drifting in the distance. in her hand, a cigarette, laced with gold and stuffed with toxins that harin always seemed to indulge herself in.
her head tilted towards you, a dull sparkle in her eye.
"so?"
her voice was monotone, carrying out a sense of boredom that she only showed to a few others.
you watched her in all her beauty, the curls of the fog shaping the area around her. the heiress was stunning, and it always took you a couple seconds to reel yourself back to reality.
harin rolled her eyes as she approached you, tapping the side of her smoke as a warning.
instinctively, you straightened, your eyes wide as she smiled.
there was something so addictive about frightening you, something that was true genuine fear laced with an undying loyalty. you were impossible to replicate, a faithful dog waiting by her bedside.
you took a deep breath, inhaling the smoke through your nose. "i got ambushed by jaeun, suji, and them."
"i thought so." another puff of smoke exited her mouth. "did they mention anything?"
anything else?
you bit your tongue, your face ridden with guilt.
you were tired of the game, tired of getting hurt. as much as you yearned for harin's happiness, the exhaustion was getting to you. you just wanted one day to yourself, without eunbyeol and harin breathing down your back.
"no."
harin's eyes hardened, her gaze trained on you like a hawk. her pupils took in the sight; your quivering mouth, your avoidant stare...
she smiled.
"why don't i believe you?" harin clicked her tongue, pointing the end of her smoke near your cheek. "is it because you're lying to me?"
she knew. how did she know?
"no, i just..."
("join us.")

you never questioned why class 1-5 were in the middle of nowhere.
the building was nice, decorated with marble columns and sleek white paint. the washrooms were clean, close by, and rarely messy except for the occasional tissue lying on the ground.
it felt as if you were purposely isolated, the twenty-four other girls in your class being the only ones in reach.
sometimes, you even forgot other classes existed.
"harin's a fucking bitch."
you paused. kim dayeon?
a girl like her wouldn't be caught dead in the library. there was no reason for her to be here, much less talk shit about the heiress of the entire school.
you kept your mouth shut as your thoughts wandered to the girl in question.
baek harin.
pretty, intelligent, soft-spoken. from what you've seen, all those things were right. you were always too shy to approach her, your thoughts clouded by the beauty that she held. from what you heard from others, she was the embodiment of niceness, going out of her way to lend others money with nothing in return (yet).
why would dayeon even say these things about her?
"god, you think she's all high and mighty." dayeon muttered, her feet shuffling as she paced back and forth. "that psycho probably wants us to worship the ground she walks on."
psycho? baek harin wasn't a psycho.
"a hierarchy game?" dayeon could already see it in her head. she had no choice but to agree at that moment, wanting to spare herself from her father later that day, but when harin had mentioned it... "is she demented?"
"pyramid game, dayeon." seo doah. that made sense as to why dayeon was here. "if you're gonna insult it, at least name it properly."
"shut it."
"you might also wanna check if anyone else is in the library." your throat ran dry as doah stood up, staring at you across the room. "right, y/n?"
you shot up, your eyes wide as dayeon stared at you. there was something in her eyes that was unfamiliar.
fear? what was she scared of? surely, it wasn't harin.
"um..."
"fuck." your eyes widened at her words. never in your life would you have thought that the eccentric kim dayeon would swear like a sailor. "don't you dare say shit, you understand me?"
you shook your head, your body stiff. "i won't-"
"you don't know what the fuck is at risk here." dayeon's anger roared throughout the library, her fist shaking. dayeon wouldn't hit you... right? "open your mouth and i'll stitch it shut."
you nodded, trembling as you packed your things to leave.
"jeez, dayeon..." doah shook her head.
you stood up, your bag half open, and your textbooks barely inside. in your arms, you gathered everything that you could, arms shaking as you rushed out the room.
a spark of fear lighted up inside you when you saw daeyeon fingernails imbed themselves into the soft skin of her palm. the crescents swelled a bright red, and you knew that she wasn't joking.
she was gonna hurt you. was she gonna hurt harin as well?
you needed to get out of here, maybe even tell harin how insane and dangerous her friend seemed.
how was that even possible? how could someone like dayeon hold a rage inside themselves like that? you could understand it from that suck up, wooyi, but dayeon?
you stumbled slightly as you turned the corner, the books nearly falling out of your bag as you collided with someone. a strong, sculpted hand grabbed your elbow, electricity shooting up your arm.
that feeling...
"is something wrong?"
her breath smelt faintly of nicotine, her perfume - one you assumed cost at least a couple hundred dollars - blocking the scent enough to not register in your brain.
you bit your tongue. "no..."
"you can tell me, y/n-ah." your heart leaped at her words, a cloud of affection and care seemingly coating them. "i don't bite."
harin's smile seemed so soft and elegant, like the status she so desperately upheld. her eyes gleamed gently (and if you looked any closer, void of life) as her cheeks dusted in a costly blush.
don't snitch. you thought as her worried gaze peered into your soul. why should i protect dayeon?
you bit your tongue, your chest bursting with guilt at the thought of dayeon laying a finger on the heiress in front of you.
"dayeon..." you whisper as an eyebrow on her pretty face raised. "she, um, she might hurt you."
you waited for harin's face to shift into worry, into fear, into a normal reaction. you waited for her lips to part and ask 'why?', to ponder what your words truly meant.
instead, she laughed, as if the thought of dayeon hurting her was a part of some greco-roman comedy and not a tragedy.
harin let go of your arm, moving your hair out of your face as your eyebrows furrowed.
"so i'm guess you heard about my game as well?"
you nod. you had forgotten that those threats had stemmed from some game dayeon had mentioned.
a hierarchy game... a pyramid game.
"what do you think about it?" harin's eyes shone in a playful demeanor, full of curiosity and excitement. you couldn't fathom why or how she wasn't worried. "doesn't it sound fun?"
the air shifted around you as her irises seemed to blacken. a heavy burden settled on your chest as she face twitched into a smile, and you felt compelled - forced - to agree.
"it does," you chuckled awkwardly. "i guess."
a soft hum escaped her mouth, her eyes glancing at your face, taking in the fear that had shifted from dayeon to her. behind your eyes, she saw something... something exciting.
the heiress smiled.
"i hope you're in 'a' with me." you had no idea what she meant, but the thought of being near baek harin made the room spin. "it'll be lonely without you."
she stepped beside you, a gentle touch on your shoulder. her breath wafted close to your ear as she spoke with a stiff voice, one you wouldn't recognize as harin's.
"thanks for the heads up about dayeon." you shivered, a cool line shooting up your spine. "i'll deal with her."
she walked away as a deep pit in your stomach emerged.
deal with her?
you gripped your books tighter as you listened to the fading footsteps, and the soft "hello, can i speak to mr. kim? it's harin." in the distance.
you didn't know why, but somehow, you made the wrong decision.

you were never scared of blood.
it was a liquid that flowed inside you and every person's body, just like how water seeped from the sky and into the ground. blood was a natural process, nothing more and nothing less.
but when you saw that knife, drenched from your classmate's fresh wound...
you shivered at the thought, while harin's soft hands fiddled with a strand of your hair.
"do you feel bad for her?" harin's smile never disappeared, not since the game started. it didn't disappear when crimson dripped onto the floor, either. "woori?"
her lifeless eyes bore into yours, jolts of electricity and fire rising throughout your fingertips and cheeks. her hand, close enough to feel your breath, paused as the rest of harin's body stilled.
all of her stopped, as if so curious about your thoughts that each cell of hers had to still.
"you can be honest." her breath laced in nicotine once more, her perfume no longer covering the overwhelming scent. "i wanna know."
woori was an 'f'.
being an 'a' yourself, you had the right to torture her, to manipulate and ridicule her.
you never did, leaving it up to dayeon to do whatever she pleased with her. part of you still felt bad for what happened earlier in the year, and each time you blinked, you remembered the heavy-handed bruises left on dayeon's face the day after you had told harin about the library incident.
you understood woori, though. the mental toll it must've taken, being bullied throughout the day, months on end without another student looking your way. telling the teachers only resulted in a beating at best, and at worst...
your eyes clenched tightly as your brain replayed that video.
"a little..."
harin chuckled, pulling her hand away and fishing out a cigarette.
"you saw her cut jaeun up." harin muttered through her smoke, her delicate fingers wrapped around the golden band.
you remember the marble on the classroom floor stained red in a way that you didn't think it would.
blood wasn't scary. fear was.
"i did."
"and you still feel bad." harin inhaled, smoke leaving her nostrils as she looked you up and down. "interesting..."
as of late, harin had been smoking around you more and more often. whether it be behind the shed or simply just the two of you in the library, clouds of smoke seemed to follow her, and in turn, you.
the first time it had happened, you had coughed violently, taken off guard as the heiress smiled. your tears were exciting to her, much like your overwhelming sense of loyalty clashing with your morality.
she had never met anyone who was so inwardly conflicted.
"did she really drop out, harin-ah?"
harin blinked, standing up from her chair as she snubbed the end of her cig on some random book cover in front of her. she threw the smoke onto the floor, grinding it with her heel. her eyes were cold, and dark, and you knew that you had messed up again.
you didn't cough this time around. she had no reason to be mad.
the heiress gathered her belongings, sparing not a single glance your way.
"y/n?"
your heart skipped a beat.
"yeah?"
"my name's harin." she glanced at you, unamused. "don't call me that again."

seong suji.
the girl was nice, a little naive to the happenings of class 2-5. you could tell from a mile away that the girl wanted to stay low and let time pass its course, but you knew better than anyone that she had a target on her back.
everyone's attention had been on her from the moment whispers spread about a new girl transferring into the class. the moment she stepped into the room, you watched as harin's eyes lit up, and a fire blazed inside you.
you didn't know whether it was guilt or jealousy.
"are you stupid?" harin clenched her teeth as she hovered over you, her eyes hardening like coals under pressure. "telling the new girl about my game?"
suji didn't hear the predators hiding in the tall grass. she didn't see their eyes, nor did she notice their bloodlust-filled gazes, but she felt it, and there were only two people in her mind who seemed to lack the barbarity that lingered in the empty halls of the complex.
"look at me!"
your eyes snapped to harin's, anger exuding from her lips as puffs of smoke filled the air and ashes fell onto the ground.
you winced.
"harin..." you had never seen this side of her, not directed at you. you had always watched from the distance as opposed to being the target. "i just thought-"
"did you?" harin's lips curled in a way that could only be described as disbelief, your utter incompetence boggling her mind. "or are you just as stupid as your dropout brother?"
you winced, the low blow winding your self-esteem.
"she looked confused." you tried your best to reason with an iron wall. "i didn't want her to feel like-"
harin's eyes widened, and her usual curiosity morphed into an unfiltered rage.
"like who? woori? jaeun?" she exhaled another cloud, your face getting covered in smoke as you struggled to breath. "you're so fucking stupid."
you felt the heiress lean closer, the tip of the cigarette centimeters away from your cheek.
"i'm sorry."
"you're sorry?" harin could feel her blood boiling. everything was ruined. "i had a plan. you ruined it for me. you ruined my game, y/n."
you closed your eyes, trying to drown out the sharp words and the blanket of burden that harin enveloped you with.
you just wished harin would go back to being curious and playful, and leave you ignorant to the fact that deep down, she was the monster dayeon had implied many months ago.
with a weak voice, you tried to reason. "i didn't mean to..."
"you didn't-" harin backed away, ripping the smoke from her lips and into her fingertips. "give me your hand."
your eyes widened.
"harin-"
she grabbed your wrist with a surprising amount of strength. her nails dug into your arm, your teeth grinding together at the dull pain. the heat of the cigarette hovered over your palm as you struggled to pull back, and you couldn't help but choke out a strangled gasp.
"harin, wait-"
the smell of flesh burning invaded your senses as your arm shook from the pain. lightning seemed to replace your veins, as a fire replaced your blood. your vision fuzzed, the tears in your eyes falling down your chin.
harin glanced at you, a small smile replacing her grimace. you were always so pretty when you were in pain.
"remember this." she threw her smoke onto the ground, her grip on your wrist tightening. "you mess with my game, you upset me. you don't want that to happen again, do you?"
the last thing you wanted was to see harin frown in your direction.
"no."
harin smiled, glancing at how your lips quivered and how your eyes held an intoxicating mixture of fear and want. quietly, she wiped a tear with her free hand, chuckling as you flinched at her touch.
"then stay away from seong suji." she leaned in, her voice soft except for the threatening undertone. "if i see you even look at her without my permission, i'll make your life hell."
her grip loosened, harin's eyes softening as she looked at you with what seemed to be worry and understanding.
"i..." you blinked, agreeing like an obedient dog. even now, you couldn't help but wonder which harin was the real harin, but all you knew was that you didn't want to disappoint her. "i understand."
harin sighed, glancing at the burn in your hand with contempt. "i don't like doing this to you."
you paused, your face brightening as the smell of tobacco stuck to your blazer.
"you don't?"
harin smiled. it was like catching a mouse in a well placed trap. you were predictable and easy to please. a couple right words and you'd be under her spell all over again.
"you think i do?" the heiress frowned, biting her tongue.
she loved it.
"no..."
with a giggle, she took your wrist, much more gently than before.
"let's get you patched up."

harin liked putting on lipgloss around you.
she liked the way your eyes darted to her mouth for a split second before they looked anywhere else in the room. the redness of your cheeks delighted her in the sense that she knew that no matter what, you'd be stuck under her thumb.
you were her stupid, little puppet. your strings strong and unwavering, and your heart tainted with a loved one that you thought she didn't see.
it was adorable, like a puppy chasing its own tail, or a whale, no longer strong enough to go up for air.
harin liked to send you on mindless errands.
it was a good way to keep you in check, much better than instilling fear. she could sense that someone like you liked to feel needed, even if it's something as simple as fetching her more of her favorite brand of smokes or picking up items that she used for bribery.
it gave her a good laugh when you would come back, beaming as if you accomplished something when in reality, one of her maids could have easily done the same.
you were none the wiser, currently on your way to getting her more coffee (well, to get doah coffee per harin's demand).
you were just about to leave the campus, but a strong yet gentle hand yanked you aside, dragging you out of sight from the windows of the complex.
"sorry, y/n-ah."
you tried to shake her off, but she was too strong.
"jaeun, let go." why was she doing this? more importantly, why was she taking you to the nearby convenience store. "i can't be talking to you. you know that."
jaeun stopped, and you thought that she had finally gotten tired of you complaining so much. instead, you looked at the scene in front of you, two girls sitting in the shade of a foldable umbrella.
harin was gonna burn you alive.
"harin's pet?" jaehyeong shook her head, staring at the taller girl beside you. "jaeun-ie, are you sick? do you have a fever?"
you frowned. you weren't 'harin's pet'. so what if you liked being around her?
"she's nice." jaeun muttered, ushering you to the other girls. you tried to turn away, but she moved you in such a way that you couldn't escape. "she helped suji out."
"that was a mistake."
suji raised an eyebrow. she didn't know what was wrong with you. how could someone change so much in a matter of two months?
her eyes wandered your figure, stopping at the burns that littered your right hand.
oh. that makes sense.
"hey, y/n-ah."
"yerim?" you turned around, your jaw hanging open as the trainee sat with the girls, sipping on a can of coffee. you glanced at her phone, watching as she scrolled through eunjeong's instagram. "what the hell is going on?"
you looked around, their eyes glancing at suji with hesitation.
"you're not gonna convince her, suji." yerim shook her head.
being in rank 'a' herself, she knew firsthand how you followed every word harin said. she could tell from a mile away what it was, yerim herself victim to the feeling with a certain swimmer.
but there was a difference between the two of you, one that could prove to be detrimental.
you needed someone to follow, while she didn't.
"i can." suji glanced at your hand again. "i know i can."
"convince me?"
you felt a lump in your throat, praying that somehow, in some way, harin would come barging in and save you from whatever was going on here.
you took a deep breath, and sensing danger was near, gripped your wrist for safety.
jaeun frowned.
"i was serious about bringing down the game, y/n."
the pyramid game.
that stupid game that harin focused all her energy into, hellbent on keeping the perfect hierarchy intact. the one where you watched your classmates get beaten to a pulp, bloody and broken to the point of mental disarray.
you had never spoken it out loud, but you were tired of it, watching everyone you know either do the hurting or get hurt (most times both).
but this was harin's game, and you'd rather hurt yourself than upset the girl you loved.
"harin'll be pissed."
yerim chuckled, a knowing smile on her face. she didn't expect anything less from you.
"aren't you?" suji glanced at your hand, one you held for dear life, as if you were afraid it would get burned again. "after everything you've done for her, she still burns you."
you frowned.
harin did it with good reason. she needed to keep you in line, to keep you from lashing out. she did this to you because, unlike wooyi or dayeon, she trusted you enough to understand.
harin did it out of the pureness of her heart.
"that was an accident."
"an accident?" suji could feel your doubt starting to seep through. that was enough for her, to see the light beyond the cracks of your love. "hurting you multiple times the same way was an accident?"
was it an accident? it had to be, otherwise, harin was just hurting you to hurt you.
you shook the thought out of your head, missing the way the girls looked at each other, satisfied.
"what do you want, seong suji?"
there was a beat in the air.
"join us."

she knew. how did she know?
"no, i just..."
you liked harin, even when she suffocated you with her smoke, staining your white shirt with the ash of her cigarettes. her eyes wandered yours routinely, and it felt as if she was trying to dig deep as if she needed you.
"i figured out a way to get to them."
harin's eyes sparkled. she would have never thought that you, docile and timid, would ever think of something other than her and school.
it was... exhilarating.
"sim eunjeong." you rattled out a breath, your eyes clenching at the very thought of what you were doing. "yerim... likes her more than we think."
the heiress laughed, the excitement in her chest bursting at the thought of you ignoring your morals just to please her and only her.
she leaned close to you, her face in front of yours as she moved a single lock of hair behind your ear. shivers ran up your spine.
"do you feel bad, y/n-ah?" harin hadn't felt this happy in a while. "ratting them out to me must be so heavy on your consciousness."
she looked you up and down, your eyes avoiding hers. your cheeks were tinged in red, and the guilt written all over your face didn't help the giddiness that was starting to overtake her.
"you're fun, y/n."
you'd do anything for her, even when she hurt you. even when everyone screamed and yelled at you to leave, ignoring the bright red stop signs.
"i like you."

ot7 vampire — human blood bank
s2, p10
adult content featured
this may or may not be a sneak preview into a spinoff involving skz 😊
this is the last part! i had started writing a part 11 and last part but couldn’t figure it out so human blood bank, s2 ends here! — [not proof read]
you were in awe at this world around you. it’s almost like you’ve stepped into a new dimension. dark and gloomy, but inviting. castles lined up, feeling like an academy of some sort. like a boarding school.
you’ve been here a few hours, chan giving you a tour of the most important parts. jay annoyed behind him that your attention is all on chan and his clan.
you’ve seen the workout and defense trainings ran by leader of the guards and protectors, seo changbin. he was a buff guy and you couldn’t help but poke at his bicep. lee minho, vampire you have accustomed to, helps out with the classes as well.
you’ve seen the class led by lee felix, healer and fairy. he teaches medicine and support on how to help others that are hurt.
han jisung, werewolf, and kim seungmin, vampire, run a music class for fun. you’ve also learned they’re both part sirens which is why their voices are so entrancing.
hyunjin teaches fencing and classes involving weapons with chan at times.
“what about jeongin?” you asked.
“he just does whatever. makes sure the newbies stay out of trouble.”
“maybe ni-ki should’ve came here.” you said.
you, jay, and sunghoon followed chan up to the main castle. “is this your house?” you asked in awe.
“something like that. not my main, personal home. that, no one will see other than my inner circle.” chan explained
“why? have a torture chamber or something?” you snickered as a joke but chan turned to you with a straight face, then a smirk.
“maybe.”
you stood still as the three walked ahead of you. “coming sweetheart?” chan asked.
jay’s eyes were twitching. sunghoon was internally laughing knowing chan was teasing jay on purpose. jay wouldn’t dare try and fight chan. not with his inner 7 around him. heck, chan doesn’t even need assistance.
“where’s ni-ki, eunchae, and the others?”
“probably with jeongin creating mischief.” chan replied. “anyway, why don’t you come into my office.”
chan opened the door to a huge ass office, lined with books on books. “are these readable?”
“yes. but not fun to read.”
“what do you mean?” you asked curiously.
“it’s mainly history. century old history.”
“eh, i’ll find a way to enjoy it while you men figure out how to make sure i don’t die.” you said and frowned towards jay.
hours later, as the three discussed, you were engaged in the mountains of century old books. learning more about the mythical creatures that surround you. learning about hierarchy. learning in this world, things aren’t black and white, and almost everything has a consequence.
learning about bang chan. if he was destined to mate, where’s his love? you bit your lip, as you read on in the book hoping to find something.
your inner nosy self came about, and you decided to go to chan’s desk as the men were out trying to find a powerful witch or warlock. saying something about the most powerful was giselle with the aespa sisters. they left you behind so you wouldn’t run your energy down.
bingo. you found a journal. multiple actually. the most recent from 1912!? the earliest from 1827. fuck, how old is chan?
“he’s very old. and doesn’t like people meddling in his personal things.” you whipped around seeing seungmin.
“how’d you know—?”
“i can read your mind.” he smiled widely. “now put the journals back before he kills all of us.”
you swallowed but complied. “do you know about chan’s love life?” you began asking but seungmin turned around. you ended up following him.
“oh, the pup is following.” he sighed.
“please! i read alpha males could possibly die without a mate? what about chan? he gives alpha vibes but i have never seen him with someone.” you rattled off.
“that’s not my business to tell.”
“aw come on seungmin! you seem like the type that likes to gossip!”
“you have me incorrect.”
you stood in your spot and pouted. “please?”
“why don’t you just ask me if you’re so curious?” you heard chan speak from behind you.
there he stood with jay and sunghoon, with another woman with a hood up. she removed her hood, revealing her long dark hair.
she walked up to you, no words, and grabbed your hand, hers cold as ice. “she’s weakening. we don’t have anymore time.” the woman turned her head to the men behind her. “we’ll have to go against the ritual and moon. beg for forgiveness.”
“you heard her!” sunghoon snapped. “you’ll be begging on your knees for forgiveness dumbass!” sunghoon snarked to jay.
“chan, do you have an empty space we won’t be bothered? possibly an atreum?” chan nodded. “great, i will beckon giselle, winter, and karina to come quick. gather felix and have him come as well.”
“who are you?” you asked, wondering who was this woman with ice cold hands.
“im ning-ning.”
you paced in the office of chan’s as you waited for the girls—witches—to finish setting up.
you did feel weaker. you felt as if you were losing a part of yourself.
“if you keep pacing, you’ll weaken yourself even more.” chan sighed.
you stopped, turned to him, and asked, “what happened to your love? your mate, if you all still call them that?”
chan’s heart sped thinking about his past lover. it still hurt, even centuries later. “she was killed by an enemy. a hunter.”
you took in a deep breath. “oh my goodness, chan—,”
he nodded. “yeah, it still hurts, but im okay.”
“everyone deserves a second chance at love! have you tried? what do you do when you know—you get the itch you need to scratch?”
chan chuckled. “i have a hand.”
“oh, well, uh,”
“and i will have a second chance. she may have passed on, but im just waiting for her to come back to me.”
“come back as in?”
“yes reincarnation.”
you smiled, but just then, your hand went to clutch your chest in staggering pain. a quick frown came on your lips. you heard voices around you but couldn’t make them out or what they were saying. some voices even seem distant. like not on this earth.
suddenly, you started coughing up blood uncontrollably, falling to your knees on the ground.
again, deep screams came from around you. panic. crying. yelling. footsteps. your vision became blurry. white. you couldn’t see anything.
maybe you screamed. you at least tried to, anyway. your neck burned. the mark burned. your whole body felt on fire.
“please. please. please.” you mumbled out. you didn’t want to die. you didn’t want to forget your boys.
“43 fucking hours!” jay yelled, throwing a glass cup, full of whiskey at the wall. “she hasn’t woken up in 43 hours!”
“all because of you.” ni-ki snickered.
“would you relax? the good thing she isn’t dead! the aespa sisters and felix are keeping a close eye on her.” sunghoon stated.
“fuck!” jay tugged at his hair.
all 7 of your boys were gathered in chan’s office, talking about what happened. your body got so weak, you had less time than anticipated. they had rushed you to the atreum where the aespa sisters had candles, herbs, and other things sitting around your body. hoping the earth, moon, would heal you. forgive jay for his sins against authority.
sunghoon was right. you weren’t dead, but you weren’t exactly alive either. you were in the in between. it was up to you, your soul, your ancestors to choose the path you either continue to take or change.
“what if she becomes a hunter?” sunoo spoke up.
“oh please she can barely stand up right, let alone try to kill one of us.” ni-ki teased. he was trying to ease the tension of everyone. they understood where he was coming from, but it was hard.
“why don’t you all go to the dining hall and find some food? something other than blood.” minho suggested. “all of you.” he narrowed his eyes at jay and sunghoon.
“sitting here worrying isn’t going to make the situation any better.” seungmin added in. “let’s go, i’ll take you where we eat.”
reluctantly all 7 of them followed seungmin and minho, leaving chan behind with changbin and hyunjin.
just as the boys left, giselle came into the room. “she’s alert, but confused.”
“her path?”
“still unclear, but looks like she won’t be a hunter.”
“could she become a witch?” changbin asked, cracking his knuckles.
giselle sighed. “still unclear.”
karina came beside giselle and they shared a look.
“what?” chan asked.
“we think it’ll be best for the ultimate vampire to try and feed her his blood.”
“you mean me?” chan asked with a squeak and pointed to himself. jay would not go for that.
karina added, “you would be the last resort, yes. but we were thinking of starting out with ni-ki. he is a special vampire. their bond is different than hers with the other guys.”
hyunjin asked nervously, “would she be turned into a vampire? i know her bloodline may prevent her from, but could that be so twice in a row?”
giselle then added, “we don’t know, but it’s best we try.”
chan through his mind asked jeongin to bring ni-ki back to the main castle as soon as possible and to not alert any of the others. chan could trust jeongin will make up an excuse of wanting to play a prank.
in no time, jeongin and ni-ki arrived back at the main castle, and was told of the witches plans.
ni-ki hesitated, but would do anything to protect you. he found the four witches and felix surrounding you in the atreum, chan and his guys right outside the door.
felix handed ni-ki a sharp knife, as winter talked ni-ki through feeding you.
with ease, he cut himself, and held his forearm against your lips as his blood dripped into your mouth. since you weren’t be turned, you didn’t latch on like most would.
your eyes fluttered open, turning red for a quick second before they went back to normal. ni-ki removed his forearm, felix immediately tending to you.
suddenly you got the most painful headache, grabbing your forehead. ni-ki felt the same. “fuck!”
“now your imprint with ni-ki has saved you.”
ni-ki and you whipped your head to the witches. “im—imprint?” you stuttered out.
ni-ki looked at you in disgust. you looked back at him with equal disgust.
“remove that look off your face, you turd!”
“im fucking imprinted with her?” ni-ki asked in disbelief. the girls and felix exchanged looks then laughs. “i want a redo.”
“it was either imprinting with ni-ki or chan.” winter explained.
“i would’ve rather taken my chances imprinting with chan!”
after your strength came back within a few minutes, you all walked out to the big room where chan, jeongin, hyunjin, and changbin waited.
“wait until jay finds out i imprinted with you.” ni-ki sighed. little did he know, they had just walked through the door.
“you did what!” jay yelled. the mark on your neck was healed and gone, yet your smell was still strong of jay’s clan.
“i just saved your human blood bank, you’re welcome!” ni-ki said.
chan explained that the imprint between you and ni-ki were out of protection not romantic feelings. chan had also explained with this, senses are heightened even more.
“you mean—,”
you groaned, “don’t tell me this fucker will be able to hear me doing the dirty!”

One of the things I love about kdramas is that it really subverts what masculinity is supposed to be. You see the loser who's down bad for the female lead (Lovely runner, queen of tears, Love Next Door, Strong Girl Do Bong Soon, the Judge from Hell), you see the soft masculinity in hometown cha cha cha, summer strike and Doctor Slump and extraordinary attorney woo, the protective kind of masculinity in any of Ji Chang Wook's and Ahn Bo Hyun's works, the reassured and confident masculinity of Seo Kang Joon in Undercover High school and Lee Jun Hyuk in Love scout, the playful masculinity in Twinkling Watermelon and Crash Course in Romance, the stoic but gentle masculinity in Doctor Romantic and Hierarchy, and the "I care about you and only you" kind of masculinity in Vincenzo to name a few.
This is progress from the old kdramas and I get that it's fictional and in real life, some of these actors are assholes. But in the era where Toxic masculinity is rampant, I think we can turn towards kdrama to have some inkling of what kind of man we should strive to be and what kind of man we should want. This should not something we see only in fiction. We should raise our sons (I'm 21) to be like this so that one day it's not just a concept for fictional love stories.

The way he addresses/refers to the woman.

Seo Do Young: 오랜만이에요, 형수. 아니, 이젠 제수씨인가. / Long time no see, sis. Wait. You're with another man now.
The literal translation of the lines would be "Long time no see, hyungsoo. Wait, no, should I call you jesoo-ssi?" In Korean, "형수(님) (hyungsoo/hyungsoo-nim)" refers to the wife of your hyung/hyung-nim (older brother), and "제수씨 (jesoo-ssi)" to the wife of your dongsaeng (younger brother), when you are male. (Mind you, it is not just about whether the man is older or younger than you; it can be also about his position in the hierarchy, especially within a crime gang.) Park Je Yi was originally the lover of Kim Yoo Seong (the boss), and later, of Heo Yang Ho (the third-in-command). As Do Young is the second-in-command, he is mockingly musing how Je Yi was once his boss' woman, but recently was sleeping with his subordinate. It is also notable that Do Young does not add "님 (nim)" to "형수 (hyungsoo)," a suffix that is used to be more polite to the addressee. Apparently, Do Young does not want to show respect to Je Yi at all.

Jung Gi Cheol: 인사해, 너희들 형수님 될 사람이다. / Say hello to my future wife.
Again, the original line has "형수님 (hyungsoo-nim)" in it, which would make the literal translation "Say hello to your future hyungsoo-nim." Gi Cheol is the leader of the gang, and therefore every member of it should treat his future wife with the same level of respect and dignity. Also note that Gi Cheol uses "형수님 (hyngsoo-nim)" instead of just "형수 (hyungsoo)," which is a clear message for them to be polite to her.
