I am incredibly angry. I am also saddened about so many things, but I have to also keep myself tethered and willing to keep going because goddammit, as someone who was able to "make it out", you owe it to everyone else that didn't and, hell, sometimes you owe it to yourself. ---- The current reason for my anger? Lila Shapiro recently wrote a big article over at Vulture (since it's paywalled, here's an archived version, but mind the CW's issued above and in the article itself) about Neil Gaiman and the many instances of him being an absolute ghoul... ---- ...and I saw people mentioning how this might affect future seasons of Good Omens, The Sandman or new features adapting his other work and let me tell you something: none of that matters now. Yes, I also loved many a thing he wrote. I'm a hopeless maladjusted dork who for the longest time has had enjoyed novels, comic books, movies, etc, what the fuck did you expect? ---- But my fandom and nerdy interests about fictional blorbos and whatnot should and will never be more important than the very real pain this wanker has seemingly been visiting upon many women for what's been a number of decades now. I can understand feeling bummed about shows/projects getting cancelled, that's a normal response to an extent, but these things should never take precedent over what the actual victims are saying. ---- And... I don't know. So much has happened as of late. This feels like a relatively simple thing to talk about, but there has been so much I've not written about because I felt like I couldn't help. How do I help people with my words? I've tried helping with money and boycotting, like our Palestinian/Syrian/Lebanese/Congolese brothers requested us to do, but I often felt useless/powerless despite my actual contributions. None of these things have easy answers, my dudes, dudettes and NB's. ---- There I go again being selfish/thinking of myself. But here's the thing: Even when you're not sure what can be done, do give it a try. Try and help peeps, try to listen and believe the people telling you. Try and keep a cool head so you don't louse it up, but actually try, even when it sucks or you think what you can do might not amount to much. ---- Yes, I know this whole entry is a big mess, but sometimes putting feelings into written words can help you process them better, and if my words, however messy they might be, can reach anyone to help them process things, that's a win. Now, I realised doing this next batch of 100 OCs, I planned to tweak them a bit more to be more cohesive and stick to an idea for each character. Case in point, my imp characters here! Some have changed A LOT since the last time I drew them! (Iirc, it's only Gematria that's barely changed one bit)

Eeyore, nicknamed "Iowa" - Inspired by Slipknot's Iowa.

Eeyore grew up in a secluded, depopulated region of Iowa. Suffice to say he absolutely despised it. He spent decades providing for himself with very little social connection, only the sounds of the wind cutting through the cornfields and harsh spring rainfall kept him company. He became a hermit and never properly self-reflected, opting instead to take his pent up anger out on himself and his surroundings. Living the same painfully silent day over and over again drove Eeyore absolutely mad beyond repair. Longing for some kind of prolonged contact, Eeyore began luring and murdering anybody who crossed his path. To Eeyore, a body was a brand new member of a twisted family. To Eeyore, a body was more of a friend than any beating heart ever could be. He would share meals with them, perform unorthodox mix-and-match surgery on their corpses, and have conversations lasting several hours. A carcass was a toy to Eeyore, now taking on the name "Iowa," a spiteful homage to the place he hates most.

Despite all of this brutality, stench, and sickness - "Iowa" will never reach true fulfillment, and his deranged game of operation will continue on.

"You are mine, you will always be mine! I can tear you apart, I can recombine you!"
