Since their origination in Tang Dynasty, these day beds were popular among aristocratic women of China. In costume dramas you often see scenes of noble ladies taking quite aesthetic naps on them, reading books, fanning themselves etc. There are several types.

I have an ongoing collection of such scenes from dramas lol something about them is quite alluring but ALSO funny to me at the same time 🤣 This post will be continuously updating till I reach the tumblr image limit (30), let's see how long that will take!

Or one can sprawl on the Luohan Bed 罗汉床 (Luóhàn chuáng) -though less comfortably- if too lazy to move onto even the couch 😆

I was very neutral to his character but his actions in these last few episodes are just ugh. There are better ways to woo the woman you love. Putting her guard in jail was not one of them. He clearly has too much time on his hands, solving her brother's murder would have put him on her map at least.

They are so intense. It's like if one of them says one wrong word, everything will change. I love the angst!

They started off on the wrong foot and poor guy is too late to change the dynamic. I mean as if it was not bad enough to love her secretly, also she really believed that he didn't care about her.

I was like tell her tell her aggggghhhhh!!!! I mean of course impossible but when you know he was the one who was about to go to her side but then forced to act rationally by his man when she got hurt…He is really hopelessly in love with her.

And he is ready to burn for her. I mean literally.

They look good together, have a very good chemistry, that's obvious. This is the only occasion where I feel that she may have feelings for him in the future…but she really has no time for romance.

And also the girl still thinks he loves her arch-enemy. When they chose this scene to show why she thinks so and then….I was about to scream…

Like, girl, this is appreciation of the talent the other girl has

and this is deep longing…He is really screwed.

Also I kinda ship her with her bodyguard too. I mean the show has a messy love triangle (I don't count her useless husband as a potential love interest, they're doomed from the very beginning) So…I am very conflicted. On the one hand I feel like Lord really loves her deeply and one day she may look at him in that way too, on the other hand Lord's life is complicated too and the bodyguard is an easy-going dude…I don't know. She may end up having a single life in the end and have her bodyguard by her side with no romance …I will be okay, I guess.

Before AJTL i started Scent of Time.

Just before AJTL ended, I finished One and Only and started Forever and Ever.

I've had Derailment cued since the day it began because it's a Priest adaptation.

Guess what I started watching today. No, really, just guess. (*it's on iqiyi coz I'm subscribed all this month.)

Tbh, copaganda though these shows are, I find them more interesting than I ever expected to.

See i can never quit cdramas because where else am I gonna find a beautiful show that, in the last episode, says surprise! it was all a coma and the hot dude who's her soul mate is actually herself and she had to learn to love herself in order to come out of her coma! Also everyone is very much dead except for the sexy and toxic Lord so now they're probably gonna end up together, not telling though! 🤫

So best dealer @aysekira showed me some pics of Wang Xing Ye in the currently filming Marriage of Di Daughter adaptation.

I was already stunned how much of upgrade his look is in Kunning even from little we’ve seen of him so far as compared to Scent of Love where his look and his personality made me think of wet noodles. And then I saw this and I think my eyes are currently somewhere on the floor in Tasmania.

Ok, how is this the same man as the unbearably unappealing city lord in Scent? Why? How? Did he take the last parking spot from the PD of Scent? Stole the designer of Scent’s lunch? Trample on Scent makeup artist’s toes? I have actually seen a lot of these pics before and I still didn’t realize this dude and the scent guy were the same person!!!!

You can’t even say it’s a Yu Zheng thing because both Scent and Di are a Yu Zheng production!

What what what how!

Also, while I am fully shallow and admit that if he looked like this in Scent, I would have less of an issue with his being the heroine’s endgame even if he kept the unappealing personality and bland acting, I also realized he played the royal psycho antagonist in One and Only years ago and did a great job so it wasn’t just that they didn’t bother with his look, they didn’t bother giving him any acting direction either!

(To be fair, all three MLs in Scent looked awful. They look better on their terrible profile shots on MDL than they did in that drama. They did make Zhou Ye look like a goddess though so either those designers are only good for one gender or she’s gorgeous enough to survive them. Even money, there!)
