Pokemon Crossbreeds: Sprinter
Sprinter is the name for members of the Scorbunny line who had Yamper/Boltund fathers. The breed came about during the rise of agriculture in Galar, being cute and trusted pokemon that chase away predators while also being a pokemon Galarians can trust by their side. Now, they're mostly used as a battle breed for their speed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Scorbunny
Tumblr media
Sprinter Scorbunny gain some traits as yamper, such as tail shape, an eye spot, and neck fluff. They're a lot more excitable than standard scorbunny, and enjoy sprinting in open fields. Their speed combined with their fire power makes them strong, but it's also easier for them to overheat, sk they end up panting like Yamper does to cool themselves down.
Raboot
Tumblr media
My personal favorite of this breed! Sprinter raboot gain the traits of Boltund, such as the spot on their eye and lighter fur color. They tend to have a better mood than standard Raboot, making them very popular breeds.
Cinderace
Tumblr media
Sprinter Cinderace also have traits of Boltund, such as bigger and more rounded eyes, a black nose, and fur coloring that now resembles a track suit a bit. Instead of Electricity, they send fire energy to their legs to give them more speed, which makes them just as fast as Boltund! Though, this does give them an added effect of always panting because they're always hot. They also tend to be very clingy with their trainers, so be aware of that too!
//My designs can be used by anyone if you credit me for the original design!

My quest of getting Pokémon that represent characters from The Amazing Digital Circus!! 🎪
Tumblr media
On May 23rd, 2024 after experiencing a serious life scare, while I was being monitored in the hospital I had the idea of getting Pokémon in-game that are inspired by the characters by the characters from The Amazing Digital Circus!! I wanted to get Pokémon that reminded me of them the most while trying to match their colour scheme with their regular or shiny variant the best I could. I remember talking with my mom and my friends trying to figure out what nature, ball, item they hold and variant each one should be, and after compiling a list of how I wanted everything when I got home I got to hunting! I've been working on this for almost a year and as of two days ago, I finally completed this quest I made for myself! I plan on leveling them all up to Level 100 eventually, but I wanted all of their levels to match so I decided 50 was a nice number and would allow for all of the ones that needed to be evolved to do so.
Tumblr media
First up, I started with Jax, my favourite character!! 💘 I decided on Shiny Cinderace for him, and I hatched the Shiny Scorbunny on May 28th, 2024 after 346 eggs!! He has a naughty nature, is in a Dream Ball and holds a Dubious Disc!
Tumblr media
Next was Ragatha! I decided on Hattrem for her. The non-shinies didn't take very long to get so I got her the same day as Jax, May 28th, 2024. She has a naive nature, is in a Love Ball and holds a Poké Doll!
Tumblr media
Another easy non-shiny hatched on the same day as Jax and Ragatha, was Pomni who is a Mime Jr.!! She has a timid nature, is in a Lure Ball and holds a Star Sweet!
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Next is Gangle, who is a shiny Yamask! I was really hoping I would get a girl on the first phase and I was so grateful I did, as this luck would come to haunt me in the next hunt haha. I got her after 729 eggs on June 4th, 2024! She has a docile nature, is in a Premier Ball and holds a Focus Sash!
Tumblr media
Right after Gangle on the same day, I got Zooble who is a Porygon!! They have a serious nature, are in a Heal Ball and they hold an Enigma Berry!
Tumblr media
Now for the very painful one, Kinger. I decided on Shiny Dipplin for Kinger but I dislike hatching eggs in Scarlet & Violet, so I decided I would hunt Applin in Sword first and then transfer him to Violet to evolve him. Applin has a 50/50 chance of being a male or female, and I definitely got very unlucky with this ratio for this hunt lol. I started with hatching a female Applin I named Grannie after 793 eggs on June 12th, 2024. On July 5th, 2024, I got another female that I named Gina after 1,468 eggs (way over odds). After two females in a row and other life events, I didn't pick up this quest again until recently, and I got ANOTHER female Applin on April 26th, 2025 after 953 eggs that I named Kelly. Determined to get this quest done before the one year mark, I pushed through even though I was getting so sick of not getting my male Applin, and after another 88 eggs, on April 27, 2025 I hatched YET ANOTHER FEMALE that I named Envy. Two days later, on April 29th, 2025 after 329 eggs I got ANOTHER FEMALE APPLIN. I was so done I named her "F OFF" 😭. I had exhausted all of my possible girl Applin nicknames and I was so demotivated. Before I could crash out, very thankfully, after only 14 eggs on the same day I FINALLLYYYYYYYYY GOT MY MALE APPLIN. I was so so happy to finally end this hunt after a total of 3,645 eggs and SIX phases!! He has a hasty nature, is in a Level Ball and holds a King's Rock!
With newfound enthusiasm after finally finishing my hunt for Kinger, I got Caine right after on the same day who is a Slowbro! He technically would be a Mega Slowbro but I can't have one in any of the mainline Switch games right now. He has a rash nature, is in a Timer Ball and holds a Twisted Spoon!
Tumblr media
After getting Caine I got Princess Loolialu! I really only wanted to do the main characters that were more important but I quite like her and decided to do her anyways. If I needed to get a shiny for her I probably would have left her out but since she was just a regular Love Sweet Ruby Alcremie, it was very do-able! She has a gentle nature, is in a Love Ball and holds a Whipped Dream! Unfortunately I can't include a picture for her because of Tumblr's app image limit.
Tumblr media
Now it was time for Gummigoo, who is a Feraligator. Feraligator is only available to egg hunt in BDSP so he was the only one I hatched in Brilliant Diamond.... Unfortunately poetic how he could never have been hatched with the others.... Anyways. I was nervous about starting this hunt since I haven't actually done any egg hunting in BDSP up until this point and I was worried it was going to be super slow and I didn't have the shiny charm, but I got so lucky and hatched the Shiny Totodile in 134 eggs on April 30th, 2025! He has a brave nature, is in a Friend Ball and holds a Shuca Berry.
The very last Pokémon of my quest, and a shiny one at that, was Bubble!! Shiny Solosis doesn't even look that different in the newer games but the slight blue shade of his shiny compared to his norm colours made me decide he needed to be a shiny. Solosis also has a 50/50 gender ratio and I just had a feeling I would have bad luck, so I prepared myself for a really long hunt. To make up for my horrendous Applin luck, the shiny gods blessed me and I got him after only 226 eggs on the same day as Gummigoo!! He has a quirky nature, is in a Dive Ball and holds a Smoke Ball.
And there we have it, the end of my Digital Circus Pokémon journey!! I'm so happy to wrap up this quest before the one year mark hits from when I started it, and actually it's just a couple days before my one year anniversary of becoming obsessed with TADC! I love all of my Pokémon I planned out and acquired to represent them and I will cherish them forever!! ❤️💙💛

Fire Types
Cinderace (F)
Tumblr media
Percy got Cinderace as a Scorbunny from Professor Magnolia at the start of her Galar journey. She learned that her accent was a Galarian accent and she got her accent from her mother, which meant that she was from Galar. This meant that Percy was at least Part Galarian, so she wanted to learn about her roots by having a complete journey in Galar.
Shiny Alolan Marowak (M)
Tumblr media
Percy was searching for an Alolan Marowak on her Alola vacation after she saw one dancing on Poketube and she found one in Wela Volcano Park on Akala Island. He and his friend Braixen are very popular in Pokemon Contests for their Fire Dance.
Kantonian Rapidash (F) (Flare)
Tumblr media
Percy and Flare met when the Fire Horse Pokemon just came out of her egg as a Ponyta. She imprinted on Percy, so naturally, Flare followed her wherever she went. Now Flare adores her trainer, the others not so much, she has a very fiery temper (pun intended). She didn't get her name till she met her mate Sylas.
Shiny Kantonian Ponyta (M) (Theo)
Tumblr media
Theo is the eldest of the Ponyta twins, he's a very competitive young pony also he is very protective of his younger twin sister Winona. He likes running on grasslands and sugar cubes.
Hisuian Typlosion (M)
Tumblr media
Typhlosion was given to Percy by Professor Elm as a Cyndaquil at the beginning of her Johto adventure. He evolved into a Quilava in Johto but reached the end of his evolutionary line in Hisui as he evolved into the Hisuian variant of his kind thanks to the energy emanating from Mount Coronet.
Pyroars (M&F) (Davina and Dante)
Tumblr media
Dante was the leader of their pride once, he had the brightest and the most beautiful mane but he wasn't the best fighter. No, that title solely belonged to his mate Davina, who was a fighter through and through. But when a younger and stronger male Pyroar stepped up they had to leave their pride and ended up in The Friend Safari, where Percy caught them. Her first target was Dante because his beautiful mane and noble appearance were amazing for contests but to catch him she had to get past Davina to do that and that's exactly what she did. She wouldn't separate them anyway, they were a mated pair after all.
Shiny Charizard (M)
Tumblr media
Percy caught Charizard as a Charmander in the Charicific Valley Natural Reserve during her Johto journey. He was just a Charmander at the time, the runt of his clutch. He was weaker than his brothers and sisters. They used to bully him a lot both because of his unusual looks and for being weak. But then came Percy, she was up to the challenge of training him *Que the lengthy training montage*. She did manage to get him to the point that he was able to beat the first of his siblings who evolved into a Charmeleon. Seeing that Percy's training regiment was the best one working for him, he joined her. He is cold to everyone but his trainer, in whose hand he turns to putty.
Shiny Braixen (F)
Tumblr media
Percy caught Braixen from the Friend Safari too. She was searching for a Fennekin because she liked their sly and mischievous nature, but what made Percy pick this particular Fennekin was because of her unique coloring. If you couldn't picked up by now Percy certainly has a fondness for the strange and unusual. Braixen is one of her Contest Pokemon, after she learned how to dance with fire, she and Marowak became a duo.
Arcanine (M)
Tumblr media
Percy caught him as Growlithe in the Volcanic Cave in Sinnoh. He got separated from his littermates and got lost. Long enough for it to get hungry, but then he smelled something delicious from the depths of the cave and followed his nose. Which is how he found Percy, she was camping and making dinner when suddenly this little Growlithe came in whimpering while giving her Lillipup eyes and you know what they say if you give scraps to a stray it will never leave you.
Skeledirge (M)
Tumblr media
Percy chose Fuecoco at the beginning of her Paldea journey because she knew that he would eventually evolve into Skeledirge who was a semi-ghost type. She also named the little bird resting on top of his head Sonata. He likes to sing lullabies to the baby Pokemon.
Ceruledge (F)
Tumblr media
She is one of Percy's knights. She, Aegislash, Escavalier, and Iron Valiant trained under Sir Wikstrom of Kalos' Elite Four in the Castle of Chivalry to learn how to protect their queen better. She and the rest of the knights are very loyal and protective of their queen, like how Sebek is with Malleus, only quieter.

Can you guys tell that I run out of ideas for some of them?

Okay, so I already watched Lockstin's video about why Chikorita, Tepic and Totodile might have been chosen as starters in Pokémon Legends Z-A, but... MAN, DOES IT TRIGGER MY OCD.
Let's break this down quickly and check which starters would have been eligible in the first place. Disclaimer: I am not choosing based on culturally logical compatibility, but based on "what makes sense from an exposure point of view?"
Kanto: Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle are ruled out by default, because they've been getting too many extras in the past already (including their presence as Mega Evolutions in Gen6).
Johto: Cyndaquil was already present with a regional variant in Legends Arceus, so it was ruled out be default - the question is why Chikorita and Totodile were BOTH chosen.
Hoenn: Treecko, Torchic and Mudkip are also automatically out the loop, since they were already given Mega Evolutions in Gen 6's ORAS.
Sinnoh: Turtwig, Chimchar and Piplup maaaaay have been left out, because we just had Sinnoh Remakes and the Gen 4 focus on Legends Arceus - despite the fact that they have not gotten Megas or other forms yet.
Unova: Now Snivy is the only one left out, as Tepic is now going to be in Legends Z-A, while Oshawott was already in Legends Arceus with a regional form.
Kalos: This one is self-explanatory, since Chespin, Fennekin and Froakie were all in the original Gen 6 Kalos games X and Y.
Alola: Rowlet was already in Legends Arceus with a regional form, so Litten and Popplio would have been free to use.
Galar: There are no reservations in my opinion, Grookey, Scorbunny and Sobble could all have been eligible.
Paldea: Gen 9 is still too fresh, so it'd be understandable that they wouldn't want to give either Sprigatito, Fuecoco or Quaxly too much exposure so soon again.
So yeah, there aren't that many to choose from after all, but for each type there would have been three options:
Grass: Chikorita, Snivy, Grookey
Fire: Tepic, Litten, Scorbunny
Water: Totodile, Popplio, Sobble

Random Pokemon Legends: Z-A theories
Gameplay
Gameplay will be basically the same as Legends: Arceus, except with Abilities and held items. Maybe you could redesign the Mega Evolution system so that you just need a Mega Stone in the bag, but changing Abilities is key to how a lot of Megas are so interesting and different from their originals.
Starters
Grass starter: Snivy. New regional Serperior will be Grass/Ice type ("its cold and aloof demeanor manifests quite literally"). Signature move will be "Polar Vortex," an Ice-type version of Leaf Tornado (wind move that decreases accuracy). Ability will be Snow Cloak, but change to Ice Scales on Mega Evolving.
Fire starter: Scorbunny. New regional Cinderace will be Fire/Rock type (described as a construction worker that likes to slack off with impromptu soccer games as a working-class counterpart to the other starters being more aristocratic). Signature move will be "Pumice Punt," kicking a rock like a soccer ball. Ability will be Technician.
Water starter: Piplup. New regional Empoleon will be Water/Psychic type (uses psychic powers to command armies of Piplup and Prinplup). Signature move will be "Domination," a psychic move that corrodes the target's willpower. This will lower their offensive stats and/or make them drowsy. Ability will be Stalwart, but change to Supreme Overlord on Mega Evolving.
Other Megas
The Kalos starters will all get Megas. Mega Chesnaught gets Dauntless Shield (alternatively, if they don't want to step on Zamazenta's toes, Battle Armor). Mega Delphox gets Magic Guard. Mega Greninja gets Infiltrator (unless they wanna just retrofit Ash-Greninja into a Mega and give it Battle Bond.
Xerneas and Yveltal will also get Megas. Zygarde will not.
At least one or two new Megas will be for regional variants of Pokemon that already had Megas (example: Mega Galarian Slowbro).
The "A" Pokemon
"A" will be a squirrel based on Ratatoskr. My idea for the name is "Anuntros" (A + nuntius ("messenger" in Latin) + σκίουρος/skíouros ("squirrel" in Greek)). Not sure on the type, but the design of the A in the logo indicates it might be Grass? If you wanna stretch, maybe connect Anuntros to the Ultimate Weapon and have it be made of crystal, thus Rock type?
Anuntros will be based around chaos (vs. Zygarde's order), and have the ability "Chaos Aura," which inverts type matchups--an homage to XY's Inverse Battles and certainly quite chaotic. Said ability will be cancelled out by Aura Break, making that ability slightly more useful and tying "A" to the "aura trio" more.

Was talking to my boss about Legends Z-A and what starters we expect/want to see, and while I'm near undoubtedly wrong, here's my thought process:
As Legends Arceus did not use any Gen 4/Sinnoh starters, we can eliminate the Gen 6/Kalos starters entirely (Chespin, Fennekin, Froakie)
As LA did not use any Gen 8 starters, the most recent generation at the time, we can reasonably assume that ZA won't use the recent Gen 9 starters (Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxley)
For the sake of variety, it seems unlikely that generations that were represented among LA's starters will be revisited (Cyndaquil from Gen 2 knocks out Chikorita and Totodile; Oshawott from Gen 5 knocks out Snivy and Tepig, and Rowlet from Gen 7 knocks out Litten and Poplio); these are of course still possible, just less likely
With the return of Mega Evolutions, it seems unlikely that the starters that already received Megas will be returning with regional variants, as Game Freak will want to retain the established Megas. This eliminates all of the Gen 1 (Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle) and Gen 3 starters (Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip)
HOWEVER, this would only leave us with two viable generations; Gen 4, which they will near definitely do because they couldn't in LA, and Gen 8, for the same reason and because Rowlet sets the precedent that they are liable to draw from the second most recent generation
Because of the above, they need to take one starter from Gen 1 or 3; as Charizard had two distinct Mega Evolutions, X and Y, fans immediately started speculating on ZA's announcement that there would be a Mega Charizard Z, which would be very easily facilitated by Charmander being the exception to Rule 4
With Charmander as the Fire starter, we can eliminate Gen 4's Chimchar and Gen 8's Scorbunny
Between Gen 4's Piplup and Gen 8's Sobble, Piplup's royal inspirations line up the best with the France-inspired setting, and have made Piplup one of the more common picks among fans; this of course eliminates both Sobble and Gen 4's Turtwig
As the only Gen 8 starter remaining, Grookey becomes the Grass starter for ZA by default
TL;DR, because of precedents set by Legends Arceus and the context of Gen 6's gimmicks, the most likely starters for Legends Z-A seem to be Grookey, Charmander and Piplup
But if I got to choose based on my favorites, I'd do Turtwig, Scorbunny and Totodile (I would sadly skip Fuecoco to not double up on crocodilians)

I was going to go out on a limb and guess that you liked the houndour line, but with how long it would take to get it in gen 2, I feel like it wouldn't have the time to endear itself (literally relegated to post game for some reason). However, you might have played with it in SV since it is an early game mon.
My next option would be Mabosstiff partly because of your one characters (fursona?) being a black wolf and also because it is very easy to get attached to as it is a major part of Arven's team and also the way it looks is very endearing.
I feel that you might have chosen cyndaquil as your starter for PLA due to familiarity, but might have also chosen rowlet (I don't know why but the rowlet vibes are stronger than the oshawott vibes).
I also don't know why but I feel that you would have chosen grookey as the gen 8 starter.
I'm probably way off but I'd figure I'd give it a try.
Well, I DID play with a Houndour for a bit! But over all, I wasn't partial to its design or the moves it had or could learn. Gen 1 to where we are now though, I always always always would put an Arcanine and Gengar on my team! They are by far my favorite Pokémon and have held that crown for a long time!
Mabosstiff was on my team for a HOT second initially and only was swapped out for the playable Koraidon once I had him! (That black wolf is Kas! He's one of many characters and is a representation of one of my sonas, yes!)
I did pick Cyndaquil for PLA, but that was solely because I LOVED the new design for the regional variant for full evolution. When I played Silver ages ago, I picked Totodile!
Scorbunny was my boy on my first play of Shield, and Sobble was my boy in Sword!
I'm hard to read to be fair ^^;; most folks assume I'm a grass lean because of the colors I favor, but that would be my husband! I usually go for rounded teams or I lean fire, dark, ghost.
My winning team for Scarlet was (first time I chose the grass starter!) Sage the Meowscarada, Danish the Dachbun, Edgar the Gengar, Styx the Pyroar, Bax the Baxcalibur, and Otto the Arcanine (named after a giant waterbear from an old favorite book series!)

Hey. Hey. Whats your Favourite bunny pokemon?
im not very up to date with pokemon but from my cursory research i'll pick: both nidoran variants tho leaning more towards the female one. the line gets less bunny the further down you go but those 2 have an actually rabbitlike face (snouty. nice ears too. also points for the nose just being nostrils and not that cat-like nose that cartoon bunny designs sometimes have) while being kinda weird and interesting in their own right besides that. would hold one in my arms if i could
the scorbunny line is prettier aesthetically speaking i suppose but they just dont scratch That itch in my brain. front placed eyes and utterly snoutless

@pokemon-isekai Vivianne@Saguaro
Vivianne: "What was the first Pokémon you got? And which Pokémon made you so interested in variants?"
Tumblr media
Saguaro: Now this may seem pretty funny, but if we're not counting my Service Pokémon, Mint, my very first Pokémon was actually Lunar when he was still a lil Scorbunny.
Tumblr media
Saguaro: I was still absolutely terrified of Fire Types that even harmless lil Lunar scared me. As for what got me so interested, well…
Tumblr media
Saguaro: My interest started when I first ran into a Galarian Meowth. The one I caught and raised as a Trainer isn't this one of course, but I did catch one while I was a Trainer.
Tumblr media
Saguaro: Imagine my surprise when the Meowth doesn't evolve into a Persian, but a Purrserker! A completely different Pokémon! They jumpstarted my curiosity on Variants. Then of course, Superstar there evolved again, which Hoennian Linoone can't… And I kept meeting more and more Variants that evolved into a different Pokemon than what's considered 'the norm'.
Tumblr media
Saguaro: I'll admit, I've always been a bit interested in Pokémon ever since I was a very young child… My late mother talked a lot about her home Region, Alola, and showed me some Alolan Pokémon…. but that interest was nowhere near the fascination I have with them.
[Cameo of Darren the Raboot from @blazing-destiny, still battling Tanga and Durin!]

Ok so I love my ice/grass rowlet designed a while back so much
Here it is for curious bystanders who have not seen it yet
Tumblr media
So I think I eventually want to do the whole line and include it in my pokemon fan region! And that got me thinking of Legends Arceus which had a trio of random starters with regional variant final evos. So I think a trio would be fun! But dear wintery rowlet starts as a variant. So all three will have regional variants for every stage!
So the rules are, it keeps its core typing but adds/changes the secondary (Nomeran rowlet line will be grass/ice the whole line). They all have to be from different generations. Preferably not already have a regional variant.
SO
My ideas for the other two?
For water, totodile! I’m a habitual water-starter-chooser (although the last few gens have had me swaying to the grass side) so it was a little hard to narrow this down. Totodile and mudkip are frequently vying for my favorite water starter spot. But my little gator I think deserves more love. And a dragon typing!
So I don’t have a full design idea yet, but I’m feeling a water/dragon line and perhaps basing it on a spinosaurus (I just really want a spinosaurus in my region ok? So what if it’s an African fossil and it’s a North American region). It’s not a fossil or anything but we’ve had plenty of pokemon vaguely based on dinosaurs/creatures so it works!
For fire, scorbunny! Ok fire was hard for the opposite reason of water. There’s never really been a fire starter that’s fully stolen my heart. Charmander is a classic. I love torchic and litten but the final evos are just, ok. Fennekin was pretty cool. So like, I like a lot of them but love? But then I was bouncing ideas with my husband and we figured out the perfect parallel.
Cinderace is a soccer player! A…. Football player! What’s more perfect for a North American regional variant than a soccer playing bunny going into an American football playing bunny?! I’m thinking this variant would be fire/fighting (gasp! I know, giving a starter fire/fighting that didn’t even have it) Design will be trickier I think, but bulking it out a lot more will help. Was also toying with ground or rock as the secondary typing, but fighting just seems to fit for American football so that’s what I’m thinking of.
ANYWAY
I’m just on a huge pokemon and fakemon kick and wanted to share some ideas ^_^

My thoughts on Legends Z-A starters
Everyone is saying torchic. I can’t see it.
I think that the starters—based on how starters worked in Legends Arceus—cannot be starters with preexisting mega evolutions.
If we’re getting new regional split evolutions for starters, they’ll likely be getting their own megas, and it would be weird for a starter with a preexisting mega to get a second one if we have so many to give new forms to (and who deserve it a lot more than blaziken)
I think Snivy is a really safe bet, and if not that, the grass type will be Chikorita. They’re the two grass starters most in need of a secondary typing by a lot.
Yes logically Serperior would do great with dragon, but that’s a type the games stay away from for starters unless it’s a mega and they already did that twice, if we’re getting a third it’ll be a water type to make a full trio of dragon megas. I can see grass/dark easy, or if they rework the lore a bit grass/psychic could be fun
As for Meganium I see grass/fairy off the bat, but it wouldn’t be hard to work it into a grass/fire (sun theme) or grass/rock (dinosaur)
For a fire type, if we’re again avoiding the region’s traditional starters, the Hisui trio, and any with a mega already, that leads us with chimchar, Tepig, Litten, Scorbunny, and Fuecoco
I can’t see a switch starter getting a mega here, that would be very bold considering they’re both already really good
I see Litten and Tepig as the most likely, primarily because they are the starters in the group that got the most criticism upon release (though I love them both)
Litten I can see with a fire/ground or fire/electric rework fairly easily, or even fire/fairy if they wanted to go for a “good guy” counterpart to Incineroar’s heel theme.
Tepig is a huge opportunity cause all they need to do is replace the fighting type with anything rise and the fans will go nuts. Dark for a feral boar theme, ground for a muddy pig theme, hell I think poison could be a really fun one to work in!
As for a water starter
With previously established rules we’ve got Totodile, Piplup, Popplio, Sobble, and Quaxly
Again, I think it’d be a really bold move to use a new starter. I think Popplio was popular enough that it doesn’t need a rework, so that leaves us with Totodile and Piplup.
Totodile… ice. Ice type, I always used it as more of an ice type than a water type tbh. Dark is possible but damn I’ve put dark as a possibility in every list it’s just too easy. Steel is a shot in the dark but if they wanted to make a hyper defensive variant I could totally see it.
Piplup is harder because Empoleon is already popular and good and I just don’t know how I’d change it in a way that makes sense. Again ice is always an easy one for a penguin, but it feels cheap to guess that. I suppose it’s not hard to make a pokemon a psychic type you just make it smart. Fighting could be worked in rather easily as well.
Anyway I see essentially two possible trios here.
Snivy Litten Totodile
Chikorita Tepig Piplup
And if they were to use newer starters my picks would be: literally any Galar starter none have dual types. Why are they single types. Inteleon should have been water steel or water psychic.

Made a regional variant of that Noid-inspired Scorbunny line I made based off The Noise from Pizza Tower cause I’m autistic like that

"Such foul language, Grandcrest. For shame." He shrugs her off and returns to focusing on the crystals. "I suppose it's a good thing Zygarde hasn't found this place. They'd reduce this academy to a wreck for messing with nature like this." That thought makes Donovan shudder a bit. "I already have a Zygard Cell in the garden outside my house, I wouldn't want to get on their bad side. But I'll make sure to have my....friends on the Sanctum Sanctorum scour the planet for any of the crystals in Area Zero." "I guess having a look around wouldn't hurt. Jawbreaker seems keen on checking out that beach looking biome over there anyway. I'm curious about what other Pokemon are here as well. Might snag a few depending on what's here."
Tumblr media
A flurry of sounds in retaliation came out towards the Darkrai for being brushed off like that, but at the mention of Zygarde, she stops and just looks away. Honestly, she didn't want to see it burnt into the sea but with how it was now... doing something about the crystals was the smart thing to do, and out of the corner of her eye, she watched as a child with their Scorbunny did a high five after winning a battle. Many kids got their start here -- good and bad -- and no matter how she wanted to wish otherwise... she wouldn't have met Lucky had it not been for going to this school.
"I'd defend the parts of it from Zygarde that are worth defending, but the ones that aren't worth it... he can sink them to the bottom of the ocean."
With that said, Ashe started forward with Lucky holding her hand with one ribbon, prancing across the land beside her as she led the way towards the Coastal Biome. "Hmm... it says you can find Lumineon, Meowstic, Alolan Variants, and starter lines there...? Huh." Ashe looks over the pamphlet she had picked up earlier.
"I can get why Alolan Variants would be here, I mean it's... pretty tropical." Ashe says as she climbs over the crystallized boundary with Lucky's help and into the other part of it. Otherwise they'd have to go all the way towards the middle and out that way. Was better to just go as they liked. Upon touching the crystallized boundary, Ashe did feel a surge of energy, but it was benign at best. It meant no harm... at least not in this state.
