So I have been minorly skimming some stuff on YouTube and TikTok about SOC, and I cannot believe some of the things that people say about Kaz and the Crows.

One point I tend to hear from Six of Crows critiques a lot is "The Crows act older than their supposed age, especially Kaz"

And... Seriously? Did we read the same book? The Crows are constantly making jokes and bickering. Do you think people who are in their 30's or even their late 20's would say shit like "jogs the liver" or "I need a cup of the darkest bitterest coffee or a real punch to the jaw" or "my ghost won't associate with your ghost" or "a hive of bees in your dresser drawer"? THEY WOULDN'T. (Actually, they can, but maybe not every single sentence and not as impulsively) These are things only dramatic teenagers would say. Not to mention the way the Crows handle their traumas is extremely immature and they're awful at communicating. The Crows actually act more like teenagers than 90% of teenagers in YA novels. The only reason why they seem older is because they have skills.

Another point I tend to hear a lot from critiques is "Kaz never faces consequences and he always wins and he's perfect"

What!!???? Just what!!?? In what universe? Once again, did these people read the same book as us?? Kaz is always facing terrible consequences. He is on the edge of losing his own crew every other chapter. His own crew is not afraid to call him out on his shit when he does it. The trauma he has doesn't glorify him, it makes him look pathetic and weak next to the other Crows. Kaz himself is deeply ashamed of it and he's lonely and isolated because of it. He is restricted from hugging his crewmates, he is restricted from kissing Inej and that kills him. He is broken and miserable because of it. But simultaneously, the trauma is his problem to fix. Nobody fixes it for him.

And yes, Kaz is highly intelligent and incredibly skilled and strong, but trust me, he does not always win, and he isn't perfect. If I remember correctly, his first plan for the Ice Court was a failure and they had to improvise from there. But the final plan came at a cost, and that was Nina using parem. Towards the end of the book, Kaz was wrong about predicting that Van Eck actually loved Wylan enough to not kill him, and it cost him everything. The first plan he made to take down Van Eck in the middle of CK was a complete disaster. The crew ended up stuck in the Geldrenner hotel. Kaz was clearly dangling so far off the point of utter insanity that he actually resorted to giving himself up for the crew and only resigned because the other Crows stopped him. And for the final plan of the book, Kaz ended up using every single resource he had left, which once again, subtly implies how desperate he was. He gave up all his assets, he used his old home, he used his original surname, he injured himself a lot in order to recruit more people for the plan. It took him a great deal of time, effort, and thinking to finally put together a plan. AND EVEN THEN, it came at a terrible cost which was the life of one of his Crows.

Even the revenge he took against Pekka wasn't that worth it as Pekka still couldn't remember Jordie's name, Jordie was still dead, and Kaz's trauma and pain didn't get any better than it was before.

Kaz is not at all a perfect guy who always wins. He is deeply flawed, twisted and is always losing something even when he wins a bit. I don't understand how some of these SoC critiques didn't understand this.

SoC Comic Chapter 3, the future, and more!

Hey! Got some updates today. First of all, thanks for reading Chapter 3! I've been sitting on these pages for a month now, and it's so amazing to finally get them out there for you to enjoy. It's been lovely to share this passion project of mine with you.

Chapter 3 PDF Release

Just like last time, the full Chapter 3 PDF will be released on Gumroad! You'll get an ebook version of the full comic (complete with updated pages and bonus art) for absolutely free. Chapter 2 is already up, but Chapter 3 will be released on September 20 at 12 pm EST. Same day as CK's anniversary!

Physical Copies

Physical copies of 2 and 3 are in the works! If you ordered a copy last time, it'll be a pretty similar process. I'll share a link here once my copies come in. Unlike last time, I unfortunately will not be offering a discount to people who tip on Gumroad due to difficulties with records-keeping. Orders are still US only, but you are always welcome to print out your own copies of the PDFs. Keep your eyes out for the link!

Chapter 4?

Short answer is I can't promise anything yet. Long answer is that I'd love to do it (especially since it's a short chapter, probably around 20 comic pages long) but it's my senior year! I've got lots to do inside and outside of class. I'm not gonna say "never" since I somehow seem to manage to cram a lot into my schedule without too much strife, but I don't want to make a promise I can't do good on. All I can say is that I'll keep you updated.

The other crows relationships are in this fic and its so adorable.

My summary/notes: I have to warn you that this fic incomplete but its definitely still worth the read. QHQ is such a good Kanej writer I recommend their other fics. This fic has a good chunk of angst as its a marriage of convience.. but there are so sweet moments. They wrotes Inej's worries and experience of what its like to be a woman in regency era fit, and stayed honest to her character.

I'm not sure how much to say without spoiling but we have Kanej taking down *horrible* people together. A lot of Nina and Jesper appearances, especially Nina's friendship with Inej and Jesper's friendship with Kaz, we love them <3.

And how many times will Mr. Brekker try to convince himself their partnership is merely an investment for the future? My summary/notes: I adored reading Kanej develop in this fic, we get to see them grow from strangers to friends to...... and Mama + Papa Ghafa are in this fic, I love them so much. It was so interesting reading the way they adapted canon to fit and it works really well. One thing I loved was Inej being vigilante and being the Wraith in regency era. The writing is incredible

alina starkov is not 17 in the books. That's a retcon Leigh Bardugo makes when she waited and wrote SoC. Instead, read the trilogy again. Mark all instances of timeline time passing. Leigh bardugo made alina starkov be in her early 20s if she'd just done SIMPLE MATHS.

Alina arrived at the orphanage and the very experienced caretaker says she looks like an eight year old. However, the cooks and Mal overhewr how alina isn't eating and as we the readers know she's struggling with wasting sickness. So a heavily malnourished child, who looks one age, is actually one or two years older. But for arguments sake let's leave her at eight.

When she starts the trilogy, alina mentioned she and Mal had already completed one full year of first army training.

At one point alina mentions the full length of time she stay at the orphanage with mal "over ten years." So more than ten tear...is it 11 years 10 and a half? Who knows but let's mark 10

Add these together and from the first page of the first book alina is AT MINIMUM 19. And that's a lenient count because again she's likely older than that with her wasting sickness in tye beginning and the "over ten" remark.

Only now does the story begin. The story that spans multiple months to years. Alina starts in the first chapter in the early autumn and stays in the Little Palace for multiple months since the winter fete happens at the very last day of winter. And I'm not even looking at all the weeks/months it takes them to travel around the country for the stag, leave ravka later etc. Girl was in her 20s.

Leigh bardugo simply cannot math...

there are inconsistencies in the timeline, I agree, but for my personal calculation, I use the only thing which isn't an estimate - her military training. the draft age is 16. she's had 1 year of training: she's around 17. her being "about 8" when she arrives at the orphanage and staying for "about 10" years are estimates.

if she joined the army at 16 and has been there for one year, she's 17.

again: I agree that the timeline is inconsistent and I've never said it isn't. but this is the evidence I personally use to support my reading of the text, which has been confirmed to be the canonically correct answer.

(also: book 1 spans a couple months and alina leaves the little palace at midwinter. she spends summer at the grand palace after returning there with nikolai. it's entirely plausible that less than a year passes over the course of the trilogy!)

so like, thank you for this ask, and I agree that there's room for interpretation here, but I think our readings of the books differ significantly!

What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? ugh i hate admitting defeat but. but. i am aware that beloved beloved pynch band fic will probably never be finished. which is a SHAME because i have soooooooo much of it planned out i mean like. i've got full albums designed. most of the beats are mapped out. i've got fake tweets written up, i've got chapter titles and scene drafts. like the entire concept is there and i'm so obsessed with it. but i just. after all these years it is extremely unlikely that i am going to actually, you know. write it.

16. What are your writing strengths? beginnings. i am so good at beginnings. that's why i have so many wips. also i like to think i'm good at dialogue. i try to write conversationally even when it's not actually a conversation and i think that translates well to actual dialogue it's fun.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? endings. i can't end anything to save my LIFE. also just plots in general escape me. and i always end up writing 10k more words than i meant to.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? um other people who can do it definitely should! i however cannot do that. i did however use my extremely limited knowledge of the french language for the section headings in my most recent fic and i like the effect it produced i think.

19. First fandom you wrote for? all evidence of their existence has been wiped from the face of the earth but my very first fics were one star wars fic and one agents of shield fic circa like. 2015.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written? legally i'm obligated to say c&b but right now actually i'm still very very happy with how exr rooftop fic turned out. literally the entire time i was writing it i was just having a blast. i love writing angst and stuff it's like chewing on a polly pocket toy. now that i'm evil i never wanna write fluff again. i'm torturing those fictional guys fr.

inner monologues, because they jump around too much and i eventually stray from the original thought. or anything thats not closely tied to a character ... i'm really strong with character driver things but if you hand me a plot, i'm gonna struggle (which may be why the r&j au is failing LMAO) and how i said with dialogue, it ends up being dry and makes the scene move a little too fast. i'm really bad at slowing down scenes 😭

as much of an lover i am of hurt no comfort i very rarely write it lmao but a lot of my tsoa fics had sad endings. autumn’s coming around is the first one that popped into mind, but that’s at least slightly open ? i’ll hold your hand while you drown, less so.

I feel like a lot of my fics have equally happy endings haha, the one that came to mind was our hair tangled in the breeze, simply because its a happy ending canon complaint tsoa fic which is a feat lmao

I’d love to continue for everyone im about to prove wrong, and I think I even have a mostly finished chapter lying around somewhere, but I’ve just not had the inspiration rip.

I think I’m good at writing characters in general, especially when it’s from their pov. first person pov my beloved.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I’m not really a person who uses a lot of metaphors of writes flowery language, but i wish i was!! i love very beautiful language and poetic writing but i just don’t do that that much im pretty straight forward, which isn’t a bad thing but I wish i could expand a bit more.

takes me out the story way too much, it’s fine if it’s like one word every now and then but nah. ive read a couple of young royals fics, and as a swedish speaker its a bit jarring to suddenly have swedish words there lmao

i’m gonna be fair to myself and choose one for soc and one for tsoa.

ahhh friend! Hi Sparrow!!!

1) Do you daydream a lot before you write, or go for it as soon as the ideas strike?

I just answered this one in another ask, so I’ll paste in what I wrote for that here ;3

So much. So so much. I come up with so many little bits and moments for fics to find places for later. Usually they end up in bullet pointed lists that eventually make sense. Sometimes I spend weeks just jotting down random ideas or lines of dialogue before I try to write a single paragraph. Other times I go straight in with no outline or planning though, and those fics always feel particularly raw to me because they came straight out of my feelings in the moment.

20) Do you prefer writing AUs or canon fics?

I want to get into writing AU fic, but for now all my posted works are canon. AUs kind of terrify me to be honest. I also just... don't get that many ideas for AUs. So much of how I see my favourite characters is rooted in their canon backstories, so taking them out of it has never been something I've been that interested in. Maybe once I exhaust myself of filler scenes and canon continuations I'll catch the AU bug, but for now I have waaaay too many ideas that are set in canon.

.....That being said, I still think about the sun summoner!Jesper au I wrote the first chapter draft of pretty often.....

35) What’s your favorite fic you’ve posted?

This should come as no surprise to anyone, but it’s Everyday, Just a Little or a Little Bit (shamlessly plugging it again here lol) It’s the first fic I started for soc/wesper and the last fic I finished, and definitely the one I’d recommend highest!

48) Who is your favorite character to write for? Has this changed since you’ve started writing for that fandom?

Again, no surprises here---it's Wylan!

The funny thing is that just yesterday I was ranting about how much I miss writing from Wylan's pov. Because I really miss it. The last few things I’ve worked on have all been from Jesper’s, and then I randomly went back to work on a Wylan wip and realised that it was sooo much easier to connect emotionally and know what I wanted to say. Wylan's has been my go to from the get go (woah, that's a mouthfull), but I don't think I clocked how much I was struggling until then.

(It’s getting to the point where I considered trying to pre-write Wylan’s pov of a scene just to figure out where it was going so I can put it in Jesper’s. Which is crazy, and probably not worth it, but it's where we are ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

Another thing I noticed is that a lot of writing I do for Jesper inevitably ends up being about Wylan (to be fair, a pretty large amount of my Wylan povs are about Jesper too) or else they rely heavily on dialogue, whereas my Wylan povs get paragraphs and paragraphs of inner monologue and thought, which doesn’t come as naturally to me for Jesper.

74) Do you have a fic you wish got a bit more love?

hmmmm... Familiar Strangers is my least popular wesper fic, so maybe that one. I get why it might have been a harder sell since it's pre-relationship and unresolved, but I do really like it as a little peek into Jesper's head between ep 1 and 2.

Also, not wesper (gasp!) but Homewards, to Land is a Good Omens fic I wrote few years ago that I reread the other day and really liked. I just went back and added a few lines/fixed some typos, so if anyone wants to go show some love to it, I'd definally apreciate it!

Matthias; Six of Crows- Chapter 20 (Leigh Bardugo)

There's nothing to gain by sending a Grisha-only unit to burn down a random village or two. Fjerdans already hate and fear Grisha, and this would only cement such belief, which is the exact opposite of the Darkling's long-term goal. Now, there are several options to explain the discrepancy:

a.) Brum lies. We don't know how much did Matthias see, so the lie can be anything from Grisha presence in general, through the level of their involvement to harmlessness of said village. When you have a chance to gain a loyal fanatic, you won't explain you made a target of their home in the first place.

b.) Not every Grisha is Second Army. Sure, Matthias calls them "Inferni soldiers", but (See: a.))... Even though we know very little about Second Army organization, Inferni work in pairs, and having a whole unit consisting of a single specialization- especially if they're supposed to be infiltrating enemy territory- makes little sense. A group of rogues would have less options to pick from if their talents don't differ.

c.) The Crown's order couldn't be ignored. If for some reason the Darkling's superiors decided Grisha are to do their dirty work, they couldn't refuse no matter how pointless the order.

I Have a Confession…

I’ve been writing a fic in which the end goal is a short but sweet 30k words. I’m at 4k and losing motivation 😭💔

(I’m not gonna talk about the 40K word fic in my notes app staring at me waiting for it to be fully written 😥 100K words is a bit of a stretch for me right now 💀)

Here’s the first chapter though- tell me what you think about it. Maybe I’ll work on it so that I can post it before the end of next month!!!

It’s a Ponyboy hurt/comfort and Ponyboy/Curly with Dallas/Johnny and everyone is gay here 😭💀💀 ALSO VERY OUT OF CHARACTER. I had gotten inspiration from some ooc fics and wanted to make something. I know Ponyboy isn’t like this but cmon- it’s so fun to write.

I walked down the street alone. It was a dumb idea to try and tag along with Johnny and Dally. They’ve been dating for about a month already and are always together.

Dally asked me to leave and I did. Nothing feels worse than being in a place where you ain’t wanted so I ditched. Johnny and Dally seem happy together so I’m happy for them.

Two-Bit and Darry are together too. They spend a lot of time together and seem happy. Sodapop and Steve are together too. It doesn’t make me as happy for Steve to get angry at me more but I can survive. They’re all happy so I’m fine with it.

Maybe…

Ever since they’ve started dating each other, they’ve left me behind. I even started sleeping in my own room because I started feeling sad a lot. I couldn’t explain what was making me so sad so I just started to sleep alone. Soda didn’t take it so well, he tried asking me what was wrong.

But I couldn’t answer him. Because I didn’t have an answer.

Now I’m walking down the street looking for something to do. My heart kind of aches but I’ve learned to leave it alone and stop feeling.

I walk to the library, the scent of books assaulting my nose. While I would tell Darry where I was when I got home, I decided to call him and told him I’d be back late. He tried asking where I was but I didn’t answer and just quickly hung up. The librarian looked at me weird for a second but then sighed.

“The library’s starting to go overnight. Tonight we’re starting it, we just ask that you keep the library clean. Another librarian will be coming in 20 minutes for the night shift,” the librarian fixed up some papers and I nodded. A 24 hour library seemed perfect for me right now.

I settled down with a book and started reading. This library was the only place that the greasers fully owned. It was founded and operated by some greasers and no Socs are allowed in. Unless they’re with a greaser but that doesn’t happen often.

Anyways, for a library like this to have a lot of cool stuff without Socs it’s a shame none of the greasers really use it. There’s not much crime you can get into inside a library. Maybe that’s why this is the only greaser owned building that hasn’t been bombed yet.

My eyes read over the words and I felt myself getting sleepier. With a glance from the clock I decided to get up.

“Oh you’re Ponyboy right?” A chirpy voice came from the desk. I looked over and saw the other librarian. I nodded.

“Yea, why?”

“Oh! The librarian told me about how you’re a regular; just wanted to introduce myself. My names Stella,” Stella’s voice seemed way too happy to be awake at 10PM. I just nodded and left. She reminded me of the fact that I stayed out too long, even if I called Darry.

I didn’t even have to get into the house to hear some yelling. Everyone was home and Darry was asking where I was.

“Didn’t he call you Dar?” Two-Bit said, trying to defuse the situation.

“He called but he didn’t say where he was going! Dally you oughta tell me where he is. He went with you!” Darry sounded mad and scared. My mind went blank and I decided to go inside.

The second the door hit the doorframe, everyone looked at me.

“Where have you been?” Darry asked, his voice booming. I didn’t want to fully say where I was, especially if he wanted to look for me again.

“Somewhere,” I shrugged my shoulders and winced. Sitting down in one spot wasn’t ask comfortable as I thought. In an instant, Sodapop was trying to hug me. I pushed him off and shimmied my way to the hallway.

“You’re gonna tell us where you were Ponyboy,” Darry continued, “Did it ever cross your mind that your brothers were worrying their heads off for you?”

“Yeah, that’s why I came home. I wasn’t really planning on it,” I couldn’t stop the remark. It was too good to pass up. It was a bad idea though.

Darry’s face contorted in anger and some sadness. Suddenly it went silent and even Sodapop just started to stare at me. I turned around and went into my room.

As I laid down, I couldn’t help but not feel any sympathy for them. I didn’t care if my words hurt them. Just thinking about that made me feel guilty. I did feel bad and wanted to apologize.

“Pony?” A voice came from my door. I turned around in bed so my back faced the door.

“Please Pony. Are you awake? C-can we talk?” It was Johnny. I wanted to say something better but my mouth couldn’t form any words. Suddenly sleep seemed more interesting than what was happening.

“I’m sorry Johnny. Could you tell the gang I’m sorry too? I’m just real tired,” I finally found my words. Johnnys breath went silent and I found myself slipping.

In the morning they wouldn’t find me. I will start to make myself scarce. They won’t mind… I know they won’t.

Thank you so much!!! As someone who read the first book just less than a year ago, I’m really honored that so many people, especially those who have been fans much much longer than I have, are enjoying the comic. All of your support and kind words have meant the world to me as I continue to develop my skills as a comic artist.

Since I’ve had a few people message me to ask, I’ll clear up my plans so far. Chapter 2 will absolutely be done before the year ends (unless something really disrupts my schedule). If I’ve counted it right, there are 11 more sets of pages until the chapter ends. Once it’s done, I’m planning on making a pdf free to download of the comic chapter, along with some bonus content.

After that, nothing is set in stone! I might take a short break to work on whatever school work I have, other comic work, and the like. I also want to take a short break to work on my backgrounds. This project has definitely made me better at them, but the next chapters will have a lot more environmental detail I want to do justice (especially the slat and the crow club).

I thought I was only gonna make a review at the end, as this is a standalone, and I wasn't super into it at first, but this chapter has been the most thrilling so far. which is a pity since it's only a flashback chapter. but even in this chapter, it feels like I'm reading an introduction still. there is so much worldbuilding still going on and I'm still a little lost and every sentence has five lore words, so I have to look into the glossary every 2 secs. I do have to admit that might also be bc I know zero south-east asian languages. but I'm also having a bit of a hard time with the world itself. I thought this was gonna be high fantasy but it's kind of sci fi too?

on a positive note though, I do like this chapter for its action scenes. it's giving auror/order duty and crows mission/heist. I generally have this weird thing where I have to imagine a fantasy magic story is set in a world that I already know well but like an au or future version /in this case), in order to motivate me lol. I imagine the theonite world as a modern grishaverse, it also makes sense bc of the "races" and the elemental magic for the most part. it's essentially about tidemakers and misaki is a corporalnik too (more heartrender than healer) and there are two inferni in this scene including robin, and elleen (who is kaelish "coded") is something akin to a sun summoner (the holographic thing she can do is really cool) and koli is a materialnik etc. to me it fits even more than it did with the grishaverse as a wizarding world au. also, they call misaki shadow, like hello wraith. but at the same time they are basically superheroes, especially with the firebird symbol printed on robins back. (I also just realized the misaki flashback plot is basically the plot of miraculous ladybug?)

to summarize, I'm a nerd (and autistic) and just like to know the ins and outs of a magic world and dislike stepping into a new one. so, interesting that I chose to read a fantasy standalone this time... I guess I just wanted to try it out. I feel like its gonna leave me unsatisfied though. but we'll see.

also very interesting to me is that this is called adult fantasy, since I can't see much of a difference to YA yet. I do see how GOT and e.g. the grishaverse are different, but that's also bc one is high fantasy and the other one is idk, something else. so far in this book there is as much gore as in the grisha books (think soc and oomen's eye), and even as in hp if I recall correctly. I think it's generally funny that hp is considered a middle grade series bc by dh it's at least YA. also, in this book the protagonist (or one of the two) is literally a 14 year old. and misaki is an angsty teenager in this chapter, they even have a romance trope. it also makes me kinda angry bc I recently saw a post about how YA writers are just too bad to write adult fiction and it's so untrue?? of course there are badly written YA books, but so are adult fantasy ones? and not to mention those two series again, but hp and the soc and kos duologies are objectively well written? ok, not objectively maybe, but a lot of people would agree. and I am well out of the main YA target group, I'm in my mid 20s and I honestly still love those books (even if I haven't read any new good series in a while). I mean reading YA at that age does say something about me, but still... ok, rant over.

anyway, I'm starting to enjoy this book even though the writing style is not teribbly great imo (not bad but it could be better), but I hope the main story gets a bit more exciting in a bit. I personally would've put this chapter right at the beginning. btw, I really can't tell how far I am in this book bc I'm reading it as an ebook (as it seems not to be available in europe in english, only off of amazon u.s. with really long delivery), but I feel like I've been reading this quite a bit.

Muted ( The Outsiders) chapter 20 Never Better, Well almost.

Millie's PoV

I talked which is great. What isn't great, is that everybody wants me to talk now, I mean, I guess i like talking, but im not comfortable yet. We were sitting in the living room, Darry, Sodapop, pony, and me. we were watching some horror movie. Darry was in his chair, Pony was laying on his stomache on the floor, and Soda and me were sitting on the couch. Soda had me in his lap, ever since i came home, he almost never let me out of his site, don't know exactly why, but he's my brother so, i dont really mind it. Every night, I would sleep in Soda's room, because he told me to or else. I would always sigh, and do what he told me.

Well anyway, we were sitting there, I was drifting off to sleep when soda decided it was the best time for talking to me.

" Hey mill?" He asks, softly

" hmm?"

" you ok?? I mean, you dont seem like yourself lately. well actually ever since you came back."

that was the truth, it wasn't really my attitude, it was my habbits. They changed. I wasn't eating like i normally did, usually I would eat like the boys, now i only ate a little bit, or not at all. And my sleep had been disturbed every night since the day i got back. Truth was that New york had scarred me something aweful. JD's and Hoods would come and jump you in the night, you couldn't sleep, and if you did you usually didn't wake up, if you know what i mean. One thing about my apperance that changed, well actually two. But I got this scar on my cheek, from getting jump my first night. I had made the stupid decision of sleeping in an alley way, they found me and jumped me, and left me with a scar to always remember them, was their words. And I got really really skinny, all the boys told me i looked unhealthy, and i probably was.

" I-I'm ok" I told him. knowing that he probably saw through my lie.

" Alright, well your sleeping on the bed tonight, with me." soda commanded.

" fine."

Just then the door burst open, and there stood Johnny.

Johnny, brusied, and bloodied.

Dammit, his parents were at it again.

" come on Johnny, I'll get you fixed up" I said to johnny in a quiet voice. I lead him to the bathroom, and told him to sit on the counter. He did as i got out the medical kit.

" This might sting a little, ok?" I asked, He nodded back to me. He had a cut on his head, and a lot of scratches on his arms, and bruises everywhere.

" ow" johnny whimpered as i put the achoahol on his cuts.

" Johnny, you know that you can always, always stay at our house whenever you want right??"

" yeah, i-i know, it's just that i dont like bothering you guys in the middle of the night."

" your not bothering anybody Johnny, gosh your so stubborn, your like Dally."

we laughed at that. We both knew that Johnny was nothing like Dallas. Johnny cared about everybody, except the socs, while as Dallas hardly cared about anything. maybe Johnny, and maybe his booze, but that's about it.

" we're going to the Dingo tomarrow night, you should come with us. All 9 of us our going!!" I say. Tomarrow was a friday, and at the Dingo friday nights they played music from the jukebox from 4 all the way to 4 the next morning. Nearly all the greasers that had a realationship went. We, the gang, went because it was a fun way to enjoy the time together, and we all made fools of ourselves and the boys always went home drunk, and usually with a short term girl friend.

" Alright, I will" He smiled at me. That night i practicually forced johnny to sleep on the couch, while sodapop practually forced me to go sleep in the bed. Jeez, that boy is strong.

I woke up late in the night, shaking and shivering.

" Your worthless, you stupid pile of shit. YOu deserve everything bad that comes your way."

That nighmare always woke me up, when i got jumped in New York. His words rang in my ears constantly, threw night and day.

" Millie, Are you ok?" Soda's drowsy voice replaced the voice of the hood.

" y-yeah" I told him

" oh, come here, and stop lying." he told me.

I felt him wrap his arms around me, hugging me. I didn't have any more nightmares that night.
